From Sunday Times bestselling author Melanie Blake comes a gripping new chapter in the Falcon Bay series ― where showbiz glamour collides with dark secrets, and women who’ve lost everything are ready to fight back.
On a private island off the coast of England, five powerful women sit in jail, awaiting trial for manslaughter: a world-famous soap star, an ambitious talent agent, a ruthless producer, a brilliant screenwriter and a cougar casting director.
The man who put them there, their long-term nemesis Jake Monroe, is cashing in – turning the island they once ruled into a twisted theme park crowned by the world’s tallest skyscraper. While the women plot revenge, old secrets that could change everything begin to surface.
The glossy veneer of their showbiz world was shattered when they were incarcerated and the rot beneath the red carpets and studio lights is beginning to show… and meanwhile, a journalist chasing the truth behind an American serial killer is uncovering stories that could destroy everything – and everyone.
As the body count climbs and the women’s trial date looms, Jake’s empire teeters. Because one thing is certain. Hell has no fury… like vengeful women.
I have a passion for high-power drama, and here is a nail biting sexy story Vengeful Women, that needs to be turned into a film or a TV series.
My book beautiful Vengeful Women book is a limited Special Edition Hardback with beautiful with sprayed red pages.
Melanie Blake has always been my favourite author, giving me powerful rich glamorous women, giving me a buzz of excitement!
5 women have been sent to prison, accused of murdering an actress.
You might adore these vengeful women or dislike these rich women that seem to have it all.
Stupidly, recklessly, they each in someway have played a part in a murder.
But you wouldn’t have thought it from women in show business, would you?
Each of these have been sent to prison
An executive producer from the global hit drama Falcon Bay. She has been sent to prison waiting for her trial. She was once married to the former Head of Drama and show runner of Falcon Bay.
An older woman actress. Another woman CEO of an agency once a child star herself.
The Head of Casting on Falcon Bay.
And the 5th woman sent to prison is a former child actress who turned writer and only female director on Falcon Bay drama .
Now they will be torn apart from missing the men in their lives and their children.
Another murder has been kept a secret.
There’s nothing like a sexy thriller with a twist to shock you!
Fans of Jackie Collins, Jilly Cooper I highly recommend you read vengeful Women by Melanie Blake and Ruthless Women, Guilty Women.
Is Vengeful Women Booker Prize winning literature? Definitely not. Is Vengeful Women brilliant entertainment brimming with modernity, intrigue and quite a lot of sex? Absolutely yes! This is a story to grab the reader from the very first page and keep them reading open-mouthed throughout.
Although this is the third book in the series, there’s absolutely no need to have read Ruthless Women and Guilty Women (although I strongly suggest you do for the greatest enjoyment) because Melanie Blake weaves in character back stories with aplomb so that how they have come to be where they are in Vengeful Women is clearly explained and yet still tantalising. There’s even a cast list of ‘Players’ to help out – and let me tell you, never have characters been more aptly defined. There are some real players here!
Indeed, whilst there’s quite a cast of characters, each person is distinct and clearly presented. I loved the way the reader is drip fed character intentions and real emotions through the authorial voice in ways that make the reader feel almost part of the action. And these characters are brilliantly untrustworthy so that whilst the reader thinks they have a real handle on what’s happening, there are twists and shocks galore. I’d love to see Vengeful Women – in fact the entire series – as a television drama. Viewers would be hooked.
And what action there is! The plot of Vengeful Women simply races along. There’s scheming, murder, manipulation and so many twists and turns that it leaves the reader breathless. I’d even go so far as to say that this narrative is totally audacious. The author does not pull her punches and there’s so much action of all kinds that it left me reeling.
As well as characters to root for (as well as those like Jake to hate) and the action packed story, I loved the insight into the duplicitous, Machiavellian world of show business, journalism and media. Melanie Blake makes it simultaneously abhorrent and mesmerising so that it’s impossible not to get wrapped up in the narrative. This might be a story that’s an Adrenalin filled fast paced romp, but there are deeper elements too, from abuse to online trolling, sexism to corruption, and greed to friendship for example, so that Vengeful Women is more than just that romp.
With glamour throughout, and being sharp, sassy and sexy, Vengeful Women is a thrilling bonkbuster for the modern age. It’s frenetic, fun and fabulous. With the National Year of Reading 2026 on the horizon, Vengeful Women could just be the very narrative to get non-readers hooked on books. I loved it.
And for all the doubters out there about this genre of writing, just remember – and beware – Hell hath no fury…
Vengeful Women is a dazzling, high-stakes thriller packed with glamour, revenge, and shocking twists. Furious female voices drive a story of betrayal, ambition, and murder, making this modern bonkbuster utterly addictive from start to explosive finish.
Beneath the dazzling surface lies a darker exploration of abuse, sexism, online harassment, and the complexities of friendship, elevating the novel beyond pure escapism. Intense, addictive, and unapologetically dramatic, Melanie Blake brings this racy bestseller into the 21st century, ending in a climax as thrilling as it is memorable.
Just when you believe you’ve uncovered every layer of these women, the story pivots and reveals a side you never saw coming.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book, all opinions expressed are my own.
Fiery Powerful women causing havoc whilst the men around them scramble to keep up.
I have to admit, with this one I was really not convinced who I wanted to come out on top as everyone seem to have blood or corruption on their hands. The only one I was sure I wanted to fail was Jake.
It was a bit of a slow build at the start, checking in on all the characters and seeing where they were at after the end of the last book but then things really started to get going and the last 50 or so pages was all action packed.
I akin this to a sort of twisted explicit soap opera, the irony not lost that this story centering around the creation of it's own soap opera.
The Drama. The relationships. The power struggle.
I do feel this was left in a way there could be another book and that would be exciting to see where these crazy cohorts end up.
We’re back on the glamorous island of St Augustine’s where the world as we know it has fallen on its head. Our favourite ladies Catherine, Helen, Sheena, Amanda & Farrah have had an enormous fall from grace and are currently awaiting trial in prison. Gone is the glamour from their previous lives & careers and they’re powerless after being accused of murder and corruption infront of the world. Back at Falcon Bay, villain and sexual-menace Jake is lapping up his recent success by turning St Augustine’s into a crude and inappropriate park for visitors. He’s still scheming, shagging and being the creep we all love to hate.
As a reader, to comfortably immerse yourself into this world, you have to suspend disbelief and expect jaw-dropping and outrageous twists in order to fully enjoy the experience. There’s no room for ‘that would never happen’ here. We love the sensationalism in Falcon Bay! Think Footballers Wives on steroids and cristal!
Compared to Ruthless & Guilty, Vengeful really ramps up the sensationalism in all the ways I’d wanted!
The first half of the book felt like a new-era. With ‘Falcon Bay’ cancelled and the glamorous TV set no longer existing we’re plunged into new settings like Prison, L.A and even a glimpse of Australia.
Alongside the fresh settings, we also see more of some previously sidelined characters stepping into the spotlight. What’s clever about this shift is that it creates space to develop these people and explore their place within the world of Ruthless Women. They’re just as cutthroat and calculating as the familiar faces we know… if not more so.
That said, I did start to miss the main quintet - Catherine, Helen, Sheena, Amanda, and Farrah. While Melanie uses this time to establish the broader cast, the five leading ladies occasionally felt like they were blending together. But as the story progressed and the pieces began to click into place, it became clear that Melanie was laying the groundwork for something much bigger!
When the leading ladies finally reclaimed center stage, they delivered the sassy, scandalous, and seductive drama I’d been waiting for. It’s been a few years since Guilty Women, and I’d genuinely missed these characters. Thankfully, each one slipped effortlessly back into their distinctive personalities.
The storylines are just what I’d been hoping for! Decedent - dripping in luxury, indulgence, and scandal. There are Camp-tastic moments and it’s shamelessly addictive. Designer labels, bed-hopping, celebrity names, Cristal and Cocaine. Soap-opera storylines which are dramatic, sexy and catty. Expect catfights, glamour, blackmail, revenge and deception!
The final quarter felt like a blockbuster movie and probably my favourite scenes in the franchise. It was brilliantly atmospheric and had my heart thumping with anticipation. I could vision the happenings and was scouring line by line at such fast pace, desperate to know what shocks, twists and turns were next. Melanie really ramped up the drama to bring ‘Falcon Bay’ the most dramatic, explosive and jaw-dropping finale. Well done Melanie. I’d never have guessed the conclusion in a million years and it was so fitting for this crazy soap-opera.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed escaping back to this crazy world once again. Melanie writes so brilliantly and the escapism & outrageous stories are what I expect and enjoy. Melanie’s ‘Falcon Bay World’ is so unique to the book market and as a lover of soaps and dramas, I relish them! The characters stay true to form and the setting is so uniquely gorgeous and atmospheric. Was Vengeful worth the wait - absolutely!!
Not long ago, five powerful women were at the top their game, lauded for their contributions in making the soap opera Falcon Bay an international success. Now, the world-famous soap star, ambitious talent agent, ruthless producer, brilliant screenwriter and cougar casting director are languishing in jail awaiting trial for manslaughter.
Meanwhile, their nemesis Jake Monroe, happy in the belief that he has brought their worlds crashing down, is turning the home of Falcon Bay from a peaceful private island into a brash theme park - resplendent with the highest skyscraper in the world.
But the women are not done yet. They are plotting their revenge, and there are plenty of secrets still be unearthed before the end is nigh...
Melanie Blake is back with her third epic Falcon Bay book, and it is more gripping, glamorous, and gloriously sexy than anything that has come before! You can read this one as a standalone, but I highly recommend you take in the first two best-selling books beforehand for the ultimate reading experience.
After the shark-infested shenanigans of Ruthless Women, and the surprising fall from grace of our audacious ladies in Guilty Women, Catherine, Helen, Sheena, Amanda & Farrah are out for revenge - and they are not the only ones. The plot is just as seductively sinuous as I was hoping for, with multiple threads weaving together around their fight for freedom, Jake's nefarious plans for St Augustine's, a bloody trail of murders in America, a hard-faced hack after a scoop to top them all, and familiar faces in unexpected guises hiding in the shadows.
In an orgy of twists and turns that you leave you in danger of suffering from whiplash, the story gathers pace, building up to an action-filled finale fitting of a blockbuster movie. I was knocked sideways by how much there was still to reveal about the players in this power game! There are cleverly wielded themes about corruption, sexism, and abusive relationships to revel in, and our author pulls no punches when it comes to cold ambition, gut-wrenching violence, and X-rated encounters - which added enjoyable grist to the love-and-loathe mill. Brava, Ms Blake!
I blasted through this tasty little romp, and cannot wait to see what comes next for the Falcon Bay gang. The age of the modern bonk-buster is alive and well, and Melanie Blake is doing a great job keeping the sultry fires burning. Lots of fun... more please!
⭐️⭐️⭐️ The women of Falcon Bay are back—and in even bigger trouble! 🔥 Is Vengeful Women literary fiction? Not exactly. Is it utterly addictive, full of drama, glamour, and scandalous twists? Absolutely YES! 💃 Melanie Blake grabs your attention from the first page and doesn’t let go—brace yourself for jaw-dropping surprises, messy betrayals, and plenty of steamy moments. Even though this is the third book in the series, you don’t have to have read Ruthless Women or Guilty Women to enjoy it (though I highly recommend them!). Blake expertly weaves in backstories and motivations so you never feel lost, and the included “Players” list is an absolute treat—because trust me, you’ll want to keep track of all the scheming, ambitious, and deliciously shady characters. 😏 The cast is huge, but each character feels distinct. You get drip-fed their emotions, secrets, and intentions in a way that makes you feel part of the chaos. And with untrustworthy characters around every corner, you’ll never see the twists coming. Honestly, this series would make a phenomenal TV drama—I’d be glued to every episode! 📺✨ The story races along with scheming, manipulation, and betrayals galore. There’s murder, blackmail, and scandal at every turn—Blake does not hold back! Beyond the adrenaline-filled action, there’s also insight into the cutthroat worlds of media, showbiz, and social hierarchy. Themes like abuse, sexism, online trolling, and the complexity of female friendships give the book unexpected depth beneath all the glamour. 💼💄 Prison, LA, even Australia—the new settings breathe fresh life into the story. While some of the original quintet—Catherine, Helen, Sheena, Amanda, and Farrah—take a backseat at first, they eventually reclaim the spotlight with all the sass, cunning, and drama fans adore. Designer labels, catfights, romance, betrayal, Cristal, and cocaine… it’s soap-opera sensationalism at its best! 🍸💋 The final chapters are explosive—dramatic, shocking, and thrilling from start to finish. Melanie Blake ramps up the tension, the twists, and the scandal to deliver a blockbuster finale that will leave you breathless and grinning. If you love outrageous, glamorous, drama-filled stories with strong, fiery women causing chaos while the men scramble to keep up, Vengeful Women is your next guilty pleasure! 💖 Huge thanks to NetGalley, Melanie Blake, and Piranha Publishing for the ARC—this was an absolute thrill to read!
We’re back on St Augustine for the third instalment in the wonderfully over-the-top Falcon Bay series.
The story picks up a year after the events at the end of book two. Sheena, Helen, Catherine, Amanda and Farrah are all sitting in jail awaiting their trial for manslaughter after the death of their co-worker, Madeline Kane during a live episode of their show, Falcon Bay. Meanwhile, their nemesis, Jake Monroe, who is busy cashing in on the tragedy and turning St Augustine into a theme park where the world’s tallest skyscraper will be his crowning glory. The women plot revenge, but old secrets soon threaten to derail their plans. And someone else is exacting revenge; a serial killer in LA has a hit list of targets who wronged former Falcon Bay star Honey Hunter. A journalist is hot on the case and on the cusp on uncovering stories that could destroy all their lives.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And this book has them in abundance. I loved the first two books in this series so I was very excited when I was offered the chance to step back into Falcon Bay. I had been wondering what was next after that cliffhanger at the end of book two and was thrilled to finally find out. It’s another story of love, lust, power, money, secrets and revenge. And it was totally worth the wait!
Tense, surprising and sexy, this enthralling story had me totally hooked. Melanie Blake once again showcases why she’s the heir to Jilly Cooper’s crown with this fun, sexy, fast-paced thriller that has tons of surprising twists, blood, backstabbing and blackmail along the way. And don’t think that the women being in jail will mean a lack of glamour and glitz, because there is still plenty on these pages. I loved being back in St Augustine and with these characters, especially the quintet of so-called ‘vengeful vipers’. They may be morally grey, but I love them and was rooting for them at *almost* every step. I also really enjoyed Tabitha’s character this time around, and Jake was as slimy and sleazy a villain as ever.
An outrageous and entertaining bonkbuster that feels as campy and dramatic as Dynasty, Vengeful Women is pure escapism. Highly recommended.
If you like your book full of showbiz glamour, tough women, deception and debauchery and sex, lots of sex, then look no further. The women of Falcon Bay are back in Book 3 of the series starring the cast and players of the world famous but now cancelled television soap. Personally, I would recommend you read the previous books to understand the interactions between the players, although you could read as a stand-alone. This is a crazy, hedonistic and completely compelling read.
Briefly, it is 2 years on from the dreadful live finale of Falcon Bay and we are back on the island of St Augustine’s. The 5 major and equally devious players, Farrah, Helen, Catherine, Sheena and Amanda are behind bars with their trial for manslaughter and perverting the course of justice due to start soon. Jake has inherited the site and has built a theme park and the largest skyscraper in Europe, as he continues to sleep his way around the island. But this book, as per the title, is about revenge. But who is avenging what is the big question, as each of the players has an axe to grind. When the detestable Jake suddenly finds himself on a hit list, and a face shockingly appears from the past, the tension ramps up.
If you’ve read the previous books you know what to expect. If you haven’t then be prepared to put reality to one side and immerse yourself in this decadent, ruthless, glamorous and shocking world. Nothing is off limits, not even murder. Think Jackie Collins meets Dynasty then up the anti and you might be close. A fast paced book full of twists and turns, building up to an inevitable but absolutely shocking climax. An enjoyable and entertaining read.
I feel like had to wait far too long for this book to be written. I have needed to catch up with these characters for a while, well since the previous book, so was delighted when I finally spotted this one was available.
I have devoured this poolside over a few short hours, totally hooked on all the action. Even as I was reading the character list, key info from the previous books in the trilogy was returning to my head.
So I was more or less able to hit the ground running on this one. And wow once we move on from part 1 - it gets addictive, twisty, unputdownable,...
…and by the time we are in the last part, the finale section as such, there is nothing that was going to be able to tear my attention away from my kindle.
Hooked is an understatement. It's compelling, its like a soap opera on it's own, and I can't help but this whole trilogy needs to be turned into a series of films, or TV series or something.
I couldn't' get enough of these characters and all the devious and vengeful acts and double / triple crossing that is going on.
The ending certainly shocked, did not see most of that coming, and I am astounded by it all.
It's utterly fabulously, totally brilliant and I really hope the wait for Melanie Blake's next book is a lot shorter as I can't wait to read whatever she writes next.
Thank you to Piranha Publishing and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
This is the third in the series following the brilliant Ruthless Women and Guilty Women.
I was glad to see an introduction to all the main players, but as soon as I saw their names, it all came flooding back, the drama, the chaos, the betrayal! And Jake Monroe, possibly one of the most despicable characters you could ever meet (and I do love to hate him).
The women of Falcon Bay are truly vengeful and with good reason. After being imprisoned awaiting trial for the manslaughter of their colleague Madeline Kane, they’ve got plenty of scores to settle.
What a wild ride this was! A killer on the loose, a journalist digging for dirt, this book has it all: drama, glamour, sass, secrets, power, revenge. Melanie Blake is a multi-Sunday Times bestselling author and former agent to some of the UK’s biggest soap stars and her experience in the TV industry shines through on every page, and I can’t help but wonder if any of these larger than life stars are inspired by real people she’s crossed paths with.
I devoured Vengeful Women, it’s thoroughly entertaining, explosive and absolutely addictive. And no spoilers….but #thatending I really hope there’s a book four!
If you love soap operas, TV drama, or Jilly Cooper style glitz and scandal, add this to your TBR immediately.
BOOK: VENGEFUL WOMEN AUTHOR: MELANIE BLAKE PUB DATE: NOVEMBER 2025 👩🏽🤝👩🏼🔪 REVIEW Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. 🔪👩🏽🤝👩🏼 Let's start with what I liked, the author's writing. It was nice and kept me turning the pages. I liked how she added bits of reality in the entertainment aspect. It made it realistic, and it was kunda okay. The suspense was okay, too. I was really curious about who was going to be exposed, the murders that might happen. 👩🏽🤝👩🏼🔪 Now, with what I didn't like. Unfortunately, they were muh. The book felt like a bad soap opera with too many characters and their POVs, villains that won't stay dead or punished, morally grey characters, twisting and changing POVs. It was too much and unnecessary. It's even worse that it's a series. Like, why? 🔪👩🏽🤝👩🏼 In addition, I didn't like any of the characters they were all the same brand. There were no good ones, just least 'worst'. The characters made it difficult to actually like the book along with the unending plot. It was a lot 👩🏽🤝👩🏼🔪 I didn't really like the book. It was too much.
Title: Vengeful Women Author: Melanie Blake Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Publication Date: November 6, 2025
The book started with a chapter titled "Meet the Players." This chapter included the names of the main characters and a brief description of each of the characters. I found this to be soooo helpful! I wish more authors would do this, especially for those books that have A LOT of main characters.
When I first started reading this book, I wasn't aware that it's the third book in a series. I wonder if I'd read the first two books if this one would have made more sense to me. I struggled with connecting with any of the characters, and I didn't wish positive things for any of them.
I honestly almost threw the towel in several times, but I don't like to be a quitter, so I continued on. I'm glad I finished the book, but I don't see myself reading the next book in the series, if there is one.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion/review.
Melanie Blake delivers an addictive, glamorous, and unapologetically fierce novel with Vengeful Women. Packed with scandal, ambition, and betrayal, this book is a whirlwind ride through the lives of women who refuse to be underestimated. The characters are flawed yet magnetic and you can’t help but root for them even when they’re plotting revenge or making morally questionable choices.
The pacing is sharp, the drama deliciously over-the-top, and the twists keep you hooked until the final page. It’s the kind of story that feels like a guilty pleasure but also makes a strong statement about power, resilience, and the price of survival in a ruthless world.
At times, the sheer volume of drama can feel a little overwhelming, and a few characters could have been fleshed out more deeply. Still, it’s a highly entertaining read that fans of glamorous thrillers and strong female leads will devour.
A bold, dramatic, and empowering novel—perfect if you love your fiction with a heavy dose of scandal and revenge.
Omg, Vengeful Women is finally here and it is absolute chaos in the best way! 🍿💃
If you love the 'revenge is sweet' trope (or even just messy 'workplace enemies'), this book delivers big time. The ladies of Falcon Bay are back, and watching them plot against Jake from jail was honestly iconic. Jake is such a villain,I wanted to throw my Kindle across the room every time he showed up! The main diva (you know who!) completely frustrated me for the first half. She was being so petty when she needed to be smart, and I kept yelling, "Girl, get it together!" But when she finally embraced her power? I was grinning so hard. It feels so good when a character you want to shake finally does the right thing.
It’s super steamy and dramatic, a total bonkbuster. The middle was a little slow, but the ending was explosive. If you miss old-school glamour and backstabbing, you need this. It’s defintely going to be a favorite this year.
Having read and loved the previous two books in this trilogy, I couldn’t wait to find out how things turned out for our heroines! And to be honest I had no idea what to expect but it certainly wasn’t…THAT ENDING!!!
With the friends all locked up in prison and Jake Monroe living his best life on the island that was once home to the Falcon Bay cast and crew, there are plenty of reasons for thoughts of revenge. But in a shocking twist, there’s a serial killer delivering their own form of punishment and Jake has every right to be afraid! And with so much “main character” energy weaving itself through every chapter, the tension between them all is unbearable at times!
I completely devoured this book. Melanie Blake is filling the hole left by those 80s bonkbuster authors that I loved and couldn’t get enough of back in the day! But she has used her knowledge of showbiz to update the action for a modern day audience whilst still keeping those strong female voices that work so wonderfully well. My favourite character is Helen-I love her attitude and how she has developed-especially in her relationships!
I thought this was a very enjoyable read. The story is engaging and entertaining throughout. It's absolutely not high art, but honestly it was so much fun to read who even cares? If you want to read a story about men/women (mostly) in their 60s enjoying some debauchery while a killer is on the loose, you could do a lot worse.
Vengeful Women by Melanie Blake. Book 3 of Falcon Bay. I really did enjoy this book. I loved the cover and blurb of this book. I was hooked from page one until the end. I certainly didn't see that coming. I really really did not like Jake at all. I had the gorgeous hardback book with the edges sprayed. I definitely recommend this book.
*Some slight spoilers if you haven’t read the previous books*
Melanie Blake said this was her favourite out of the trilogy and I 100% agree, this was my favourite. It had all the drama, glamour, love, revenge and sex of the previous books, It has been a while since I read the past couple of books but the way Melanie writes and the handy who’s who list at the front made it easy to remember what had previously gone on.
The book starts where the last one ends. The 5 women are in jail awaiting trial for the various manslaughter charges relating to Madeline Kane who tragically died during a live episode of the soap. We have Amanda who was the producer of Falcon Bay, Catherine who was the soaps lead actress, Sheena the ambitious CEO of her own agency, Helen who was head of casting and Farrah who was the talented screenwriter for the show.
Jake Monroe (the ex-husband of Amanda) is relishing the fact that the women are in jail and is making the most of “his” island by turning it in to a highly profitable theme park based on the soap and building the worlds tallest skyscraper (which isn’t exactly legal but in Jake’s world money can solve everything!) There’s also the small issue of a serial killer being on the loose and Jake’s name is on the list…
I would highly recommend this book and I even think if you haven’t read the previous books, you will be able to enjoy
