When the young daughter of a powerful Senator is kidnapped from a shopping mall in Iowa, her father calls in his old friend, retired FBI profiler Wallace Mack. Soon, Mack begins to uncover a frightening prospect: an online marketplace where wealthy psychopaths can buy their next victim. It's a race against time as Mack fights to save a young girl's life by putting The Murder Store...out of business.
Even though this story started the same protagonist as the first book in the series, I feel like I know him less after reading this book. It also felt like the climax of the book came too fast and too easily, almost as if the author was in a hurry to finish this book and move on to a new story. This was disappointing because the premise was promising, and I would have liked to have seen the book go more in depth as to the characters, the plot, and the psychology. There weren't enough obstacles thrown in front of the main character and his cohorts.
All that said, I will read the third book in the series. I know the potential the author has to weave an exciting story.
This book covers it all with murder, suspense, mayhem, and sex crimes being committed with a twist of technology genius thrown in for good measure that will have you glued to your seat mesmerized by this author's uncanny ability to come up with this realistic FBI investigation thriller. If you want to be enamored by a gripping story line this author's work definitely won't disappoint you!
This was just OK. While there was nothing wrong with this book, it was fairly interesting and kept me reading. However, didn't seem to go into enough depth with characters or plot for me to be really invested in the outcome. It was kind of a yawn at the end.
If you want a book you can’t put down then pick this one. Dan Ames can give James Patterson a run for his money any day. Wallace Mack is a very human character very believable .
Well this was a pretty yukky storyline however plausible a quick read and worth the hour to read it. There are some sick bickies 🍪 out there and many are the best of society.
A retired FBI agent is called back into work to help solve the kidnapping of a senator's daughter. It is a very fast-paced novel with a huge surprise ending.
FBI agent Wallace Mack is called out of his Florida retirement to Colorado, by old college-mate, now Senator, Archibald Fletcher - his daughter Rebecca's been abducted from a local mall and no ransom demand has been received, leaving him to think the worst. Local cops and other agents have had no success, despite the gruesome discovery of several children's corpses buried in nearby woods. However with the help of computer genius Moody, Mack is soon on the trail of off-shore money-laundering leading back to Colorado - and a mysterious Dark Web site, The Store, where anything or anyone is for sale - at a price! Can Mack and Moody find the resourceful Rebecca in time and call a halt to The Store's activities - or will the gruesome trade become every parent's and authority's greatest nightmare?
Read this thrilling, unputdownable novel to find out - or lie awake at night wondering what you've missed, in The Murder Store, the second book in the Wallace Mack Serial Killer Thriller Series by prolific sensation Dan Ames.
First off, I love your books Dan! I look daily for something new and exciting. I love your writing, the way you write works for me. This book fell short with character development, so I'm hoping to see another book coming with Mack as a big part in it With maybe a bit more character involvement/development. I love his character, he is real to me. Has issues but not debilitating........ So please bring it on! I personally love your writing....
FBI profiler Wallace Mack is called in to find the missing daughter of a Senator - soon he finds an online store for killers to pick their victims. The book that I downloaded had this story but the title of 'Wallace Mack #1'
Loved this authors style of writing. Even though he wrote of horrible killings he wrote in a manner to pull you into the story line and keep you reading to the end. I wish the ending had not been as quick though..I would recommend this author highly!
This is a fast moving story and the writing is good but I had two problems with it. With so many characters and points of view, each one needs to be developed more. And the solution pretty much comes out of the blue.
A nice light police procedural with no real depth. The characters simply went through the motions and the plot just kept moving, whether the hero was doing anything or not. A predictable and formulaic plot that held only one twist at the end, and that from a character that was hardly mentioned in passing.
