Destined to Fall

Rate this book
A brand new series of interconnected standalones from the author of The Darkness duet. Where opposites attract, hate to lovers feud and rockstars meet their match. Full of banter, tension, spice and surprises you won't see coming.

I make no excuses for who or what I am.

I don't hide; why should I? Don't get me wrong. I don't go around shaking people's hands, introducing myself as Vivienne the whore.

But I am.

I'm your upper-class escort; the arm candy of the filthy rich and if the price is right, I'm the stuff wet dreams are made of.

It’s just a job, but one I get paid ridiculously well for. One I excel at.

So why would I stop? It's just sex; it means nothing.

But for one man, it’s everything.

And he’s about to ruin it all.

This full length, standalone novel contains foul language, consumption of alcohol, gambling, multiple scenes of a sensual nature depicted on page. Read at your own enjoyment.

Simone Nicole is back, and once again she did not disappoint!

First and foremost, thank you to the author for gifting me a free copy of this new book. I’m leaving this honest review completely voluntarily—I was not asked to do so.

This book had everything I love to read:
• The drama
• A kind MMC
• The drama
• Morally gray characters
• The drama
• A strong (and rich) FMC
• The drama
• The smut
• …Did I already say the drama?

It kept me hooked. I couldn’t put it down. Simone has this amazing talent for blending humor and emotion in a way I absolutely adore. I found myself laughing and giggling the entire time—it was a rollercoaster of emotions, and I enjoyed every moment without ever getting bored by side details.

I really came to love the MMC, Jeremy. While most books I read feature a range of morally gray men (which I also love!), it was so refreshing to read about someone genuinely good-hearted, kind, and loving.

I truly recommend this book to anyone looking for a love story that stands out from the standard.

While I did receive an Advanced Reader Copy of this book, normally I find life is too short to write a review of anything I read.

In this case, life is too short for me not to.

Picture this: it's 8.30am on a Saturday morning and you're treating yourself to breakfast at a café because you're a "psychopath, apparently", er, I mean, well-adjusted individual. You open up your ereader to begin a lovely casual new read.

Except you find characters so endearing and banter so completely delicious that you blink -- and suddenly you're 20% in, your coffee has become an iced latte, and you've decided to make groceries a problem for Future You, because the most pressing thing on your To Do List has become *finishing this book*.

To say that I inhaled this book would be a perfectly accurate description. It grabbed me from start to end. I squealed. I died. I absolutely loved it. I think you may love it too.

If you're sensitive to themes of assault, it may not be for you; however, if you love a Happy Ever After then I encourage you to go for it. Get the book. Enjoy it. I'll be re-reading it in the future.

(Also if this is a rubbish review then you can definitely hate this player, for she never practices the game. Viv and Jeremy, on the other hand, are not players and definitely have game.)

I had the absolute honor to be one of the first to read this - and oh my goodness, are you all in for a ride.

It's difficult reading something from someone you know.
What if you don't like it? What if you do and it comes across insincere?
Well - I loved it. In fact, I couldn't put it down.
I had plans today, okay? They went out the window. I don't regret a second of it.

Let me say that the FMC is not what you expect. She's fresh, fun and spicy.
And the MMC? Swoon-worthy.

This is one of the first books where I did not expect the twists and turns.
Gasping - literally HITTING my head on my Kindle stand because I JUMPED UP, going HUH?!

The TLDR really is, I can swoon about this all I want - you most definitely absolutely 100% will have to read it for yourself.

It's fresh, new, hot, spicy but also sweet, caring and loving.
10/10. 100/10. Read it. Just. Read. It.

This was well worth the small hiatus Simone took from writing. This book also shows that she can write many shades of romance stories.

If Simone is a new author to you, you will love this book. If you have read Simone before, you too, will love this book but will have a new appreciation for her storytelling.

I went into this book fully blind. I did not read the blurb, I just saw who the author was and wanted to read her newest release as I know her previous works years ago captivated me. Destined to Fall did the absolutely that but for completely different reasons.

Vivienne (Viv) is definitely one of my favorite FMC to read in quite some time. I love her for so many reasons - she's fierce, holds her own, witty - she's just amazing.

I loved how everything in this book played out. The spice scenes were written in a different way that matched Viv, her job. I don't want to say it's lack-luster because it wasn't that but it fit the vibe of what was going. It's her job and no emotion is at play - those scenes were written perfectly to match all that was going on.

Simone's writing has definitely matured since her last release. I read this book in one day as I found I could not stop thinking about the characters, their story and what would happen next. I loved it!

Just go buy this already - you won't regret it.

Okay this book is extra special to me as I was honoured to be the first person to ever read it 🤭

I’m not great at reviews so this will be short but I loved this from start to finish!

You will definitely fall in love with Vivienne with her larger than life personality and take-no-shit attitude before falling more in love with the sweetest MMC 🥰 This one is a wild ride (pun intended lol) that will keep you hooked from page 1 right to the end.

Such a fun (and steamy) read, highly recommend! 💯

This book was really, really good. I laughed, I cried, I shouted out loud. The banter between the characters and how the FMC was depicted was done very well . I enjoyed the story that was told and how it was almost a role reversal. I won't spoil what roll that is but it was nicely done. This story was able to capture the tight rope and skill that so many sex workers have to walk daily. Whether they are a professional high class worker or one that is just on the edges of society. The things that we see Vivienne go through in this book. What made it so amazing is it could be applied to you even if this isn't the profession that you choose. Everyday we deal with putting on a persona when in public, we deal with family drama and sometimes we don't feel like we're enough. Watching Vivienne go through this story and meet Jeremy and everyone else was such a good read. I can't profess enough how much I loved this story. Jeremy being able to see past her profession to her actual self was definitely very nice to see. He was her calm in what would become a storm. I definitely would recommend this story to anyone who is looking for a story about deep connection and how it can come in the least likely of places.

The spice in this book was very...different then what I would normally rate. It wasn't that there was a lack of it, it was that, what was there was not noteworthy. Like yes, there were moments when we see Viv with her clients but it's not news. It's not something to enjoy. It's just kinda...meh. I appreciate how it was done. I would give the spice a 3 out of 5. I almost thought it wasn't going to happen but it did and it was nice and worthy of the characters and the moment. Overall I'd give this book a 4 out of 5! I really enjoyed it. The banter was top tier and I didn't want to put this book down. I think anyone who would enjoy a different type of contemporary read would enjoy this book. It almost flips the script on us with the character set up. The way it respectfully shows sex workers is to be commended as well. Definitely recommend!

I…. uhmmmmmm….. WOW!

First off - I literally devoured this book in less than 4 hours, despite desperately wanting to slow down and savor the incredible story Simone has crafted.

My chest is still tight, and I shed more than a few tears- most of them happy, but tears nonetheless.

Vivienne is incredible! She is unabashedly herself, living her life on her own terms and truly thriving. I wish I had a molecule of her confidence and sense of self. Is she perfect? Of course not - no one ever is, and her foibles just make her even more human and relatable.

Her life is tilted off-kilter when she bumps into a man exiting an elevator. She finds herself inexplicably drawn to him, willing to bend all the rules she’s had in place to protect herself.

The plot twists are well done, the tension is 🥵🔥🥵,
and the ending is sheer perfection.

If you loved Pretty Woman, you will absolutely love this story.

My favorite quotes give away too much of the story, so I’m going to hold off a few months in setting my highlights public.

I’ve received an advance copy of this book, and this review is my honest opinion (actually I could have gushed even more, but I’d end up spoiling the story!)

Simone Nicole is a new to me author and I will definitely be digging into her back catalogue, because I’ve apparently been missing out!

This author is new to me and I wasn't sure what to expect. It was such a joy to read and very hard to put down.

Vivienne is an escort. She has never been in love before and keeps her feelings to herself. She refuses to get close enough to anyone to have feelings for them. I enjoyed reading her and watch her go through all the emotions she had. One of the strongest leads I have read.

The story had a lot of twists and turns I didn't see coming. It is very emotional and sad in several places. The characters had a lot of emotions and that was great to watch. You will fall in love with the main characters and also the side characters. I can't wait to see what else the author has coming up. You definitely need to pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.

This book deserves to be a best seller. It has fun, love, friendship, spice, adventure and will have you thinking of it long after you finish reading it.
From the first page I was addicted. I love Viv, the sass, the banter, the strength, and finally the vulnerability she allows herself.
Jeremy is a dream. And he obviously comes true at the end.
Laura is the side character that will make you follow the author to read her story one day.
All in all, this book made me laugh, cry and fall in love and I wish it hadn’t finished.
I read a lot of books, but this one leaves a mark that will not be easy to forget.
Give it a chance. You will not regret it for a second. I promise

I hit every emotion on the spectrum with this book! I laughed, I cried, I prayed, I cussed them both out multiple times. And yet I couldn’t put it down and kept coming back for more.

It was so well written and the character development and chemistry was amazing to read. It was a hard fought love story and please read the trigger warnings because the deeper you get into knowing each one brings a level of pain you didn’t know you could feel reading a book.

I love this story and I will be looking for more written by Simon’s Nicole, as she captured my heart with this story in a way that is hard to do.

I marked as "reverse harmem", but it's almost a "reverse playboy" story.
She's the "player" (though she doesn't hide the fact she doesn't do relationships and I love that she is strong in her convictions and owns her sensuality) and he is the "pure one". It's also sort of a "office romance drama". I don't want to give away the plot, so I will leave that there.

This is a fast & easy read with a bit of drama, but not overly so with a fresh take on "roles" within romance stories.

It's hard to put my feeling about this book into words...I couldn't put it down, I didn't want it to end and when it did end (far to soon for my liking) I literally screamed in frustration. I loved this book now to wait for Simone's next book to see how it progresses.

I flew through this one! Viv was a great FMC - smart, sassy, strong - and I thoroughly enjoyed her story.

I took a little longer to warm up to Jeremy, but I couldn't deny he was just what Viv needed in the end.

A relationship wasn't something she'd had or wanted, but I laughed the moment she realised what she had with Jeremy.

I want more Laura! I liked her and would love to know more about her.

A spicy, fun story! My first read from this author - I look forward to more.

A witty romance full of heart.

Simone has once again proven herself to be a sparkling gem in the romance genre. Destined to Fall introduces us to Vivienne, a beautiful, spirited woman who knows exactly what she wants and makes no apologies for it. And Jeremy, a smart, tenacious, and undeniably sexy man who matches Viv in almost every way. Their journey is sweet and full of sass, but also delivers deeply emotional moments that will have you feeling every word.

Simone’s writing is nothing short of beautiful, weaving together clever dialogue and heartfelt emotions in a way that pulls readers in from the first page. The chemistry between Vivienne and Jeremy is electric, and their story is one you'll fall in love with instantly.

Destined to Fall is more than just a romance—it's a testament to love’s resilience, and I know readers are going to adore it.
