Praise for Book 1: "Deceitful Above All Things does what every great mystery should do, it kept me up late into the night turning pages. It’s a rock-solid entry into what promises to be a truly entertaining new series. I can’t wait for book two! Fans of Longmire and Joe Pickett are really going to dig on it." - William Miller, Author of the Jake Noble Series

When an emergency air ambulance goes missing, former Army Criminal Investigator Hank Lin finds himself wrapped up in a dangerous investigation in the mountains overlooking Lake Tahoe.

Still adjusting to civilian life, Hank volunteers to assist the Ponderosa County Sheriff’s search for the missing helicopter. The disappearance of the air ambulance rocks the sheriff’s department as the search and rescue mission spirals into a murder investigation. Finding four victims complicates the case and reveals the killer’s unique set of skills. When Deputy Sierra McLean finds herself on the back foot and frustrated with dead ends, she accepts Hank’s offer to help.

The discovery of long-buried motives sends the investigation in a new direction. As the hunt for the killer heats up, the stakes escalate, forcing Hank to do what he does best.

I have been looking forward to this one, and the author did not disappoint. As with the first book, it is a slower read, with more investigating and interviewing suspects than being a fast paced suspense type. There is more character development in this book, and though I wish a couple of things happened, but didn't - I kind of like the fact the author is moving some things slower and taking his time instead of rushing some things. (I am being vague on purpose). :)

And just because the action is slower paced, does not mean the book was not suspenseful. It was. Great plot, and some definite tense moments and danger for our heroes and heroines.

I love Hank - awesome main character, and Sierra. Truckee...I am not sure about some of the time, but he is growing on me.

The only thing I didn't like about the book: At the end I was expecting more info about the how and why of the bad guys, but that didn't happen. Though it was pretty obvious what had happened. I guess I like things tied up in a neat bow. :)

Regardless, this was a great enjoyable read, worth the wait. I am guessing there are more Hank books coming, and I can't wait to read them.

Great Read

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A lot of action as well as mystery. Very well written. Hopefully Charles will have Hank Lin Book 3 out soon. There are way too few action books from a Christian perspective. This book covered the action, mystery and friendly banter necessary in a good read without any cussing or X rated scenes. We need more like this, such as a quick turn around for book 3😇😀
