Knot what I want for Christmas

Rate this book
Christmas spice. Cowboy heat. One lucky omega. It’s always been just me and Mom at Christmas.

But now she’s gone, and the thought of spending the holidays alone makes my chest ache. So when my best friend invites me to her family’s ranch, I pack my bags and head for the open countryside.

Beautiful horses. Soppy dogs. Endless fresh air.
What more could a city girl need for Christmas?

Well… definitely not them.
My best friend’s brother and his pack—cowboy hats, alpha scents, and abs that should be illegal—have decided I’m fair game.

They’re hot, they smell sinful, and that cocky cowboy swagger of theirs makes my knees wobble and my willpower vanish.
But they’re also arrogant, bossy, and only interested in a good time, not a bond.

They’re absolutely not what I need for Christmas.
Most definitely knot.

A standalone why choose omegaverse romance where Christmas comes with a side of sinfully hot cowboys.

I’m getting very specific vibes about how this book was written…I have no clue if I’m right, but it is very distracting, and I can’t get into it when it’s a constant thought. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I think it probably would’ve been an alright little Christmasy read, but being in this slump and having that question in the back of my mind really ruined it for me.

Bit bland

This book is not truly long, coming in around 230 pages. I read this over Christmas and somehow it still took me three full days because it was boring enough to never hold my attention; I generally read around 300 pages per day and closer to 700 on non-work days.

All of the main characters are very shallowly written, with vague sad stories tossed in for Hollie and Clay without much usefulness for the plot. Her mother having passed is simply the excuse for her travel. Clay's past injury is his excuse for being on the ranch but, other than some transient pain, it doesn't limit him in any real way. Both threads are inherently useless to the story. Tucker is similar, knowing his mom passed when he was younger without any additional detail beyond "oh yes. I understand."
We get little dribbles of their personalities but not much really. Tucker is on the obnoxious side of things - self centered and looking for a good time regardless of the situation. He never actually redeems from his playboy "any hole is a goal" mentality, he just seems to decide steady access is beneficial to him. Nash is just a dichotomy - quiet, shy, severely reserved but oh let me suddenly spout dark romance phrases and you can just pretend it's not completely out of character. Clay is.... The most likeable of the bunch but his inability to man up and communicate like a grown up is the bulk of his personality for the majority of the book. Hollie is bizarre - she's educated and competent presumably, she completely supports herself and seems to have done so for years, but she is the most naive, wimpy and indecisive FMC she possibly could be without making me hate her entirely. I have no desire to be friends with any of these characters which is insane - an author should write characters for the audience to love but these just exist.

The story is a bit more cookie cutter than I would hope for. Yes we know the rockview universe but this particular book has not been built out at all. There is more focus on the animals than anything else. There isn't anything truly bad about the story in general, it's just very bland, exceptionally unengaging and disappointing overall.

I tried. I really tried. I’ve been working on this book for the better part of December and decided to finally buckle down and get into it.

Nope.

I hated the best friend and how she’s a very selfish person, but that wouldn’t have bothered me in the grand scheme, if it had been a good book.

It’s how gross this is! I don’t want grossness in my sweet stories. Not even three pages in and she’s talking about how she’s left globs of snot all over the hero and how snot was flying everywhere. Then later there’s talk about mascara swimming down her face when she takes a drink of alcohol, and how she blubbers into a hero’s shirt and stains it black with mascara.

When she vomited on the hero’s boots - complete with descriptions of a “lovely pile of vomit,” “vomit-coated locks of hair” being tucked behind her ear, the pile of “creamy pasta vomit” on the ground, and numerous mentions of how bad she smells - I’m out.

I read romance for escapism - not some gross-out teenage boy version of a romcom.

I went into this expecting a light, fluffy, fun & steamy Christmas omegaverse story; something like A Pack for Christmas. I loved that book! That is my favorite Christmas themed omegaverse novel.

This book, however, was boring.

It was so slow, too! And kinda depressing. And slow.

I got 50% into the story when I realized FMC had spent the entire book thus far depressed about her dead mother. No relationship development happened in that time. There were no hints that it would happen in the future either. From what I could tell, the alphas seemed mildly interested in Hollie, but not enough to pursue her romantically. Same went for Hollie, she was vaguely interested in the alphas, but not enough to make a move. The bitchy and selfish "best friend" stood the the way of any possible relationship anyway.

I started skimming after that. There was no chemistry here. No relationship development. The plot was slow moving and fell flat. It's not until about 75% into the book that anything even happens between the main characters... and by then I didn't care.

Plus, Hollie spent the whole book crying about her dead mother. That's not sexy or light hearted fluffiness. Also, the amount of time and detail the author spent describing and re-mentioning the snot and vomit and other gross bodily expectorations was awful. Do we have to keep talking about it? How many times do you need to mention that you got snot and vomit on Clay (on a bunch of different occasions)??

I really don't think this qualifies as a rom-com at all.

“But if I kiss you again right now, I’m not sure I could control myself.”

This book was a treasure trove of trope favorites. Haze gives us everything we could ask for from forced proximity and grumpy X sunshine to packless omega and chosen family.

We follow Hollie as she navigates life after losing her mom, who is her only family. She’s adamant that she doesn’t want an alpha but she’s visiting her best friend whose brother is her long time crush and an alpha. Through a series of manipulations and bad weather, Haze shows Hollie growing into who she was meant to be.

Omegaverse may not be my go to genre but add in some why choose romance and I was hooked. It didn’t hurt that Hollie’s best friend, Annie, was hilarious and will keep readers laughing. One thing that I find true for all of this author’s books is that her writing style is easily accessible. It’s simple to understand and digest. The world building she employs in this book is beautifully done if a bit sparse. That in no way detracts from the story since there isn’t much information needed.

Some of the tropes included in this book as well as some of the the plot points and themes may be overused, but for those of us who enjoy knowing what we’re getting with a few twists, this book is perfect.

Overall this book was a fun holiday read that made me smile and made my heart happy. It was light and fun while still having substance and real world problems. Hollie was very relatable and sweet. She was also stubborn in the best and worst ways. 😩

This book is the perfect read if you’re looking for something light, but that will warm your heart and make you laugh. 4.5⭐️

🎄Cowboy MMCs
🎄Small Town Christmas
🎄Snowed In
🎄Best Friend’s Brother
🎄Found Family
🎄Loss & Healing

The MMCs are named Clay, Tucker, and Nash. Do I really need to say anything else? It is statistically impossible for men with those names to be anything less than dangerously attractive.

Hollie—our Omega—is a walking, talking slip-and-fall hazard. No judgment here; I too possess two left feet and zero spatial awareness. Unfortunately for me, hot Alphas do not show up to catch me when I swan-dive down the stairs. (Totally fictional scenario. Has never happened. Ever.)

This is a sweet, quick, low-stakes omegaverse holiday romance. If you’re looking for a complex plot, this ain’t the one. But if you want cozy vibes, found family, likable MMCs, and spice that spiced exactly how it needed to? You’re in business.

I loved Hollie and Annie’s friendship—though Annie ditching her at the bar absolutely gets her girl card revoked for the weekend. And the guys? All three had distinct personalities that worked together really well.
For a moment, this book had me convinced I was destined to move to a snowy remote ranch with breathtaking views… until the boys’ alarms went off at 5 a.m. on Christmas Day. Nope. Hard pass. I will be keeping my Florida-surface-of-the-sun Christmases specifically so I can sleep in. 😅

If you’re looking for a quick Sunday holiday read with sweetness, spice, and cowboy charm, go ahead and add this one to your list.

This is such a sweet and wholesome read.

Our fmc is Hollie. She is kind, caring, loving, brave, a little fiesty, and obsessed with animals.

Our mmc's are Clay, Tucker, and Nash. Clay, I would say, is the unofficial pack lead. He is also kind of really grumpy, doesn't say much, but underneath it all is a big softy. Tucker is so charming and easygoing. Nash is a little quieter and reserved. He loves books and has a very calming personality.

The plot was, as I said, so sweet. Hollie is spending the christmas week with her bestie, Annie, at Annie's parents' ranch. Hollie is introduced to Clay's pack and feels an instant connection with them (she's always felt something for Clay, her bestie's big brother). Things quickly get heated when Clay gives into his urges that he has felt for Hollie for years, and it starts something that Hollie didn't realise she even wanted or needed. I really love Hollie and her men. She is so perfect for them all in different ways. I could go on and on, but I would love for you to experience this for yourself.

Shout out to Annie, iykyk 🩷🩷🩷

Perfect Christmas read 🎄

This adorable holiday read was exactly the warm, cinnamon-spiced hug I needed. The blend of snowy ranch vibes, swoony cowboy charm, and gentle pack dynamics gives this story so much heart it practically glows like a string of Christmas lights.

What I loved most? How each member of the pack brings something unique to the table…strength, steadiness, warmth, mischief….and somehow they balance one another perfectly. Their dynamic feels lived-in and genuine, the kind of soft, steady pack energy that sneaks up on you until you realize you’re smiling at the page.

Watching our sweet, grieving omega step into the quiet magic of a ranch Christmas felt like a healing journey wrapped in twinkle lights. The horses, the loyal dogs, a bunny!!!! the crisp winter air… it all sets the stage for a slow, tender unfurling of comfort and connection. And while those cowboy alphas might swagger and smolder (and oh, do they smolder), there’s a thread of sincerity beneath all that heat that makes the story feel both festive and full-hearted.

This book is warm cocoa, fresh snow, and just enough cowboy spice to keep your toes curled. A perfect holiday escape with a pack you’ll want to curl up with long after the Christmas lights fade.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is everything I needed and more. It’s got the kicking-feet giddiness, the cosy Christmas sparkle, the playful flirting that makes you grin at your Kindle like an idiot — all of it. Hannah Haze somehow wrapped pure holiday joy, crackling chemistry, and top-tier spice into one perfect package, and honestly? I’m still recovering.

Also… the Friends Christmas tree reference? I screamed. I SEE YOU, HANNAH. And I loved every second.

Clay is just perfection. Tucker is, well… peak Tucker in all the best ways. And Nash? A complete sweetheart who added so much charm to the dynamic. Every single one of them brought something special, and together they made the story feel fun, warm, and ridiculously addictive.

I devoured this book in under five hours without stopping. It pulled me straight out of a book slump, made me excited for Christmas, and reminded me exactly why I love holiday romances. It’s sweet, it’s spicy, it’s playful, and it delivers exactly what it promises with zero hesitation.

A delight from start to finish. Thank you, Hannah Haze — this was the Christmas treat I didn’t know I needed. 🎄💫

Knot What I want for Christmas is the eighth book in the Rockview Omegaverse series written by Hannah Haze.

💜 omegaverse
💜 Christmas
💜 best friend’s brother
💜 snowed in
💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spice

Hollie can’t believe she made it to Colorado and gets to see snow for the second time in her life. When her friend since college, Annie, invited her up to the family’s ranch how could she say no? It will be good for her not to spend Christmas alone. But, when she arrives, she comes face to face with Annie’s alpha older brother, Clay. Can she get through this trip without embarrassing herself in front of him? Will she have a good Christmas? Will she make new memories with her best friend and her best friend’s family?

This was a fun Christmas addition to this series. I liked all of the characters and what they bring to the table. Hollie and Annie’s friendship is so much fun and a great glimpse as how friends are with each other. If you’re looking for an omegaverse Christmas story, add this one to your list. You won’t be disappointed, because I sure wasn’t.

Spice: 2.5/5
Rating: 3/5

It’s a cute short read. The rating is due to half of the book being about her and her friend and not about the romance, and the heat was not detailed at all. The spice didn’t begin until 71% and it’s honestly due to the focus mostly being on her and her friendship and the outings they did. If it were more built on creating relationships with the guys and building a foundation that is strong within their relationships, it would have been even better.

We have the broody, closeted softie alpha, Clay, who is also the FMC’s best friend’s older brother. The sunshine and flirty alpha, Tucker, who’s been best friends with clay since kindergarten. And the sensitive, dirty mouthed, Jane Austen fan alpha, Nash.

I don’t feel like we received enough growth between the relationships. Tucker just seems so unserious to even be doing something as serious as bonding and having a family with someone.

It’s a short, fast read. No angst. 🫶🏼

Cowboy Christmas Pack

I was enchanted from the first page. The characters had me hooked, and I could practically feel the magic of winter even without ever experiencing real snow myself.

Hollie heads from the city to Annie’s family ranch to spend Christmas with her former college roommate instead of staying home alone. She’s never seen snow that actually sticks, and the experience blows her away. She’s also never wanted an alpha—let alone a pack.

Annie’s brother, however, has carried a torch for Hollie for a decade, never daring to believe he’d have a chance with the omega of his dreams. The ranch is home to three cowboy alphas: Colt, the grumpy and protective older brother; Tucker, the charming ladies’ man; and Nash, the soft-hearted one with a dirty mouth exactly where it counts. Together, these alphas show Hollie what pack life could be, and it turns out all it takes is a snowstorm to bring everyone closer.

This was such a cute, cozy, and fun read. I can’t wait to dive into more of Hannah’s omegaverse stories.

Okay. I’ll admit I had to do a little bit of skimming to get through this one or it would of been a DNF. Some of my rating does come from a personal opinion of how I like my omegaverse books. I just feel like the whole point of alphas, omegas, and scents is the fact they aren’t fully human and are at the will of their instincts. That being said this could have been just a small town rh story because there was nothing really omegverse about this other than mentioning there smells and designations. Tucker was slimy and really just wanted to hook up with her cause she is the only omega around. Clay has been pining after her for 10 years but has only seen her a handful of times and she had to get naked and beg him to finally be with her. Nash is the sensitive and romantic one because he reads Jane Austen?! And that’s it… no personally trait other than that. Oh and he falls in love with everyone he meets cause nothing says scent matched mate like thinking every girl you meet is the one. The story just didn’t add up to me and non of the MMC’s had any traits worth remembering.

The pacing didn't work for me. The first half of book focused on Hollie spending time with her best friend, Annie. The relationship development was done in little snippets here and there so that when the sexual part of the relationships started it felt like it came out of nowhere instead of like a natural progression. I found myself skimming the sex scenes and the heat -- never a good sign. To me, Hollie seemed kind of dumb. There wasn't anything super special about the alphas either. This wasn't bad but it also wasn't good. The writing in this was lower qualities than all the previous Rockview books.

Note - Regardless of the author's country of origin, it's odd to make a book set in the US (Colorado) and then use a bunch of English spellings, terminology, and phrases.

Honestly, this was kind of bad. The editing was rough, with lots of weird punctuation errors, sentence structure issues, and misused words. It needed a second round of proofreading.

Hollie, the FMC, is a city girl who recently lost her mother, so she’s spending Xmas with her friend’s pack. She’s supposed to be a 30 year old professional, but comes across as much younger and more childish.

Clay is the grumpy brother of her friend. He’s actually really rude and patronizing.

Nash is his romantic pack mate. Tucker is the horny pack mate.

Hollie doesn’t date alphas for unknown reasons that aren’t really discussed, but also has bad luck with betas, so who knows what she’s into or why.

Half this book is Hollie hanging out with her friend. The other half is cringey dialogue.

DNF’d 45 pages in due to typos, which is disappointing because I’d been really excited about it! There were just too many to ignore.

“Ready?” Annie ask. Pouring some of the salt onto her hand and then some onto mine.

Because she’s right, everyone’s dressed up, most people in their cowboy boots that they’ve definitely been shining, nearly every girl dressed either in a skirt, a dress, or jeans so tight they look like they could rip with any sudden movements, Men in shirts, hair gleaming with styling product.

There definitely aren’t many landlords willing to accept an omega with pets in toe as well.

He’s wearing a denim shirt, the sleeves rolled up, his forearms strong and covered in inks.

I guess this was fine, though not anything groundbreaking. Quite a few editorial issues and probably a few too many scenes with her friend vs the mmcs.

My issue with the book is this…you mean to tell me this woman is a vet and the first interactions she has with animals in this book are asking what the cows eat and if cows are cold out in the snow? And then a couple pages later asking if dogs eat rabbits? The cow stuff especially should be basic knowledge for a vet, even one who is a “city girl” in a warm climate. I really wanted to downgrade my rating a star because of this absurdity but didn’t. Thank goodness the vet stuff was minimal because she was the most unbelievable “animal person” I’ve read in a long while.

Lets start with I love love love Hollie and her men. This book was just the perfect amount of fluffiness I needed after I read a Dark Romance. Clay is her best-friends older brother. Well, Annie and her family invited Hollie to join their family since her mom passed and they didn’t want her alone at Christmas on her own.

I love Clay, Tucker and Nash. Nash was defiantly my favorite. He is a book loving nerd, who has a dirty mouth on him on smuxyy time lol.

If you need a cute little Fluffy read. This is the book to pick up. Defiantly will re-read this book again.

It wasn't bad, just meh.

I found that there was no real connection between the characters, like nothing about any of their interactions would lead you believe they should end up together. The characters themselves were fine, but they just weren't believable together in a relationship as a pack.

It was also really crazy for the main story took place over a total of 4 days, and that made up over 200 pages... it's like nothing happened yet at the same time it was dragged out.

I enjoyed the banter and snarky commentary between characters, but that unfortunately does not a story make.

Over all, I wasn't overly impressed with this novel, it was just average at best.

Hollie goes to her best friends house to spend her first Christmas without her mom. She’s already met her best friends brother Clay but not his pack Nash and Tucker. All gorgeous and smell divine.

During a blizzard she stays with Clay and his pack. Exploring each other and admitting feelings.

Hollie returns to her home after Christmas but she decides they are worth the long distance relationship. After a few weeks and a fast approaching heat makes her decision to move in with them easier.

I really enjoyed this short read. The chatter and banter between the characters brought this story alive.

Fun Holiday Omegaverse romance.

Great Omegaverse romance perfect for the holidays or any time. Hannah Haze has once again written a story that had me hooked start to finish.

Instead of spending the holidays alone, Hollie goes to spend them with her best friend and her family at their ranch. Problem is Hollie has always been attracted to her friend's brother, Clay, despite her not wanting to be with Alphas. Add in two sexy packmates for extra heat. I love these characters and how the guys are all different and not only provide different things for Hollie but also a balance for each other. I highly recommend picking up this holiday read.

Christmas Candy.... So sweet

This book is exactly what you expect and more. It is like a Hallmark Christmas movie within the omegaverse.... What's not to love. That said this was super cute and hilarious. Loved the main character. She was strong, funny and went for what she wanted (aka three hot alphas). I also liked the dynamic of her grieving and how hard it can be around the holidays. This will be the first Christmas without my own my so that part hit particularly close to home. Overall this was a great time and I absolutely ate this up in a day. The perfect start to the holiday season!
