Colorado Storm #4

Over the Line

Rate this book
An accidental pregnancy, age gap hockey romance

The plan was supposed to be simple. Heal, rehab, get back on the ice.

Definitely don’t let anything past the line—especially Dr. Carina Park.

She’s the last person I should want. Too young and off-limits. Too focused on her career as an orthopaedic surgeon. She has a spine of steel and doesn't flinch, no matter how grumpy I get.

But from the second she puts me back together after my knee blows out, I know I’m in trouble. Because under all that armor, she’s fire and focus and the kind of soft I’ve always respected.

So when one unexpected night turns into something neither of us planned for, the line between what’s right and what’s real stops feeling so clear, and I stop pretending I don’t want more.

Nothing about this is simple. She’s built her life in the OR, and I’ve built mine protecting the goal line. Now we’re both fighting for something we never saw coming.

She wasn't part of my plan, but I've never wanted anything more.

And if she wants me too, I’ll gladly step over the line.

I really like this series and Hutch is one of my favorite characters from the team ☺️ I’ve been waiting for Hutchy turn and it did NOT disappoint!! Him and Carina were awesome! Not even sure what to say lol, I just love reading about this whole crew 😍

Also, the spice in Over the Line is GOOD spice. Feels like it only got better and better in this series 🤭

I really wanted Viktor to get a book but there will be a whole new series?? Yayyy!! So looking forward to Viktor and Heidi 🙈 hopefully it won’t be too cringe with him being Swedish, a lot of books where the characters are Swedish doesn’t do it for me bc it’s not done right. Weird names, sayings and stuff that just isn’t accurate. But I’ll keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏼

Reid and Carina have my heart! I loved that from the moment they meet in the hospital, Reid knows he wants to be there for Carina however he can. The way he helps with the hospital fundraiser benefitting one of Carina’s patients is so beautiful and perfect. Even if there wasn’t an accidental pregnancy, I believe these two would have come together officially but I’m happy it was there to bring them together faster. The scenes with the hockey team and their significant others and with Reid’s grandfather were also very lovely. I also loved that this book is spicy and that they are a good match in the bedroom. Thank you to Hailey Rodger and Luna Literary Management for the opportunity to read this book and the rest of the books in this series early! I can’t wait to read what Hailey writes next!

ARC REVIEW
🌶️🌶️.5

First Hailey Rodger's book, DEFINITELY NOT THE LAST!!!!!! I really took a risk here, because I am not usually a fan with accidental pregnancy, it is a trope I try to avoid like the plague, but something possessed me to apply for this ARC....thank heavens I did because HOLY DAMN 5 STARS!!! <3

While reading this book, there were so many things that stood out. The writing was so effortless and clean, I was so sucked into the story and the characters from the very beginning. As a HCP, the medical accuracy was top notch without being boring or overwehlming for non-health care professionals, contributing to this amazing story! :D

Dr. Park and Reid's story evolved so appropriately and organically it was seriously so beautiful to read! REID FKN HUTCHISON IS THE MAN, like he needs a kidney? he can have mine! I love him to death!!! He is so attentive, patient and damn so delicious with the way he cares and loves Carina and their surprise baby. I think his and Carina's reactions to the surprise pregnancy were both so appropriate and I wasn't mad, which is a huge win!! <3

Dr. Carina Park is such an important character that so many in the real world can relate. She is incredibly hardworking, smart, patient and selfless and Hailey did an amazing job representing the struggles of how hard it is to be a woman in medicine but just a working woman in general. There were fears and anxious moments that Carina went through that I saw so much in myself, which I think is why I loved her so much. Her ability to let Reid in, and help her carry the load was so amazing to read and I just loved their story.

This books was an emotional roller coaster, with so many beautiful, tender and deliciously hot moments! Thank you Luna Literary and Hailey for this ARC opportunity <3

Thank you to Hailey and Luna for this ARC for my honest review. I'm not sure how she did it, but Hailey has outdone herself again with this one. Hutchy is 1000% book boyfriend goals. He will be who I compare all of my book boyfriends to from here on out. This book was perfection, and I wouldn't change a thing about it. Carina is a badass who doesn't need a man but deserves to be taken care of and Hutchy steps up! If you love Hockey romances and haven't read this series yet, what are you waiting for? If you've started this series and are waiting to meet Hutchy, you are in for a treat 🤭! After reading this series, I am so excited to see what Hailey has up her sleeve next for us! 100% recommend to all of my friends! 💖

By far my favorite of this series and a really great end too!

We follow Reid, who had surgery after an accident at one of his hockey games and Carina, a surgeon of his. Both of them started to hit it off and did not just catch feelings, but a whole ass baby.
Now I’m a sucker for a pregnancy trope… then paired with a grumpy man? Divine.

Both characters were done very well. Both of them had enough backstory to explain their lives and feelings, but not too much so that it was boring.
Their relationship worked out really well and didn’t feel like it was done too fast. I also liked that we read about the whole span of her pregnancy. Like the time jumps were done really really well.
There’s a really great mix between banter, spice and sadness/ seriousness.

I was flying through this and even downloaded the KU version today, just so I could read the epilogue.
A truly beautiful end to this series.

Reid + Carina.

Over the Line is such a good story. It follows the story of our Colorado Storm goalie Reid. Who doesn't love a grumpy goalie? Those are my favorite.. and the Russian goalies too! Anyhoo!Carina is on Reid's surgery case and it's love at first sight for him. For Carina it takes a bit before she lets go and gives in to the feeling.

There are a lot of tropes in Over the Line but one isn't more important than the other. Surprise baby, grumpy and grumpier MCs, age gap (one of my favs), and found family. The Colorado Storm are a family and it shows in this book. Reid's hockey brothers show up time and time again for him and the ladies show up for Carina.

Reid steps up in so many ways to ensure that Carina is taken care of even if he can't be there physically.

I really enjoyed the green flag MMC and the FMC who wouldn't let him get away with anything.

Thank you to the author and Luna Literary Management for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wow. This was incredible! What a way to end one of my favorite series. I loved Reid and Carina so incredibly much and i did NOT expect to feel so many emotions while fading this book. Accidental pregnancy is one of my FAVE trope, and this did not disappoint. Reid. This man. So swoony. The acts of service were EVERYTHING. The way Carina was so independent but he stepped up from day one and let her know she would never go through anything alone again. And i loved that even though she WAS so independent, Carina eventually accepted Reid for the partner and father-to-be he was. Ugh, and this crew of some of my favorite boys and their girls. Their banter was top tier as always. Their acceptance of Carina immediately into their group made me love them even more. I’ve absolutely loved this entire series and i am so sad to say goodbye but I cannot wait to see what Hailey has planned next.

Thank you to Hailey and Luna for the arc!

I went in with no expectations and ended up loving it.
I laughed, I swooned, I cried and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Surprise pregnancy stories normally aren't for me but I loved Carina and Reid.
Reid was thoughtful and considerate and that gets me every time and Carina was strong, smart, and fierce and that is what I love to see in a female character.

I really enjoyed it. It was my first time with this series and I think I'm going to have to go back and read them all! The banter between Reid and Carina was *chefs kiss*; spice was spot on. Great for those who enjoy grumpy x grumpy, accidental pregnancy, age gap, no third act breakup, and found family! The best part of sports romances is the found family, and when done right it just makes you feel whole!

two stars is generous

This was a very boring book. Except for the three things that will bother me forever:

1. The FMC meets her bff when they’ve both gone “four days with no sleep” which makes sense for our FMC surgical resident but not really for the bff who’s a… PT?? Pretty sure PTs work like business hours.

2. MMC nicknames FMC “Havoc”

3. FMC write “hope” on her burger bun IN KETCHUP UNCONSCIOUSLY and it’s legible enough for the MMC to read it. The ketchup writing happens more than once.

The FMC also has some parental trauma that, afaik, doesn’t appear until like 80% and is never really discussed? Also the FMC is… Korean? Maybe I should have gotten that from her last name but I honestly don’t know that it was mentioned until 80%.

Also the writing is really… ugh. It sounds like half the books on KU and uses too many similes and too many sentence fragments and it’s just… algorithmic. Progression of time was also really vague; I could have sworn the FMC was still 12 weeks but she was talking about the MMC feeling the baby kick so who knows.

The friend group is forced fun. Like they’re TOO quirky and silly and “found family.” Everything has been SEOd.

Great end to the series, and finally Hutch’s book. I really enjoyed this even though it had my least favorite trope of all time, surprise pregnancy! 😅. It was written really well and the spicy was spicing. I love the relationship between all the Storm guys and the women, the banter between them is to die for. I’m excited for Hailey her next series! 🤗

ARC REVIEW:

Thank you Luna Literary and Hailey Rodger for this ARC! I’m so pumped to be back with the Colorado Storm. Reading Over The Line felt like I was watching a movie and I enjoyed every moment of it. Carina’s personality and character spoke to my soul and I appreciated Hutchy’s patience when it came to loving her.

“You’ll never be an afterthought to me, Carina.”

Carina Park is a resident orthopedic surgeon that oversaw a portion of Hutch’s surgery and recovery. Carina’s family dynamic is really lonely. Her dad passed away when she was younger and her mom has remarried and had another daughter who she tends to more than she ever did with Carina. Carina’s relationship with her mom is basically non-existent and surface level. She’s has worked so hard to get to where she is in her life and career, but the exhaustion and stress starts to take over.

Reid Hutchison is the goalie for the Colorado Storm. In the last book, Hutch got injured and in his book, he’s starting out in the hospital, getting ready to have his surgery. Hutch can’t get a read on Carina, but there’s no denying that they have some underlying tension. It isn’t until Hutch is out of Carina’s care that he starts to come around the doctor’s office more frequently to catch her.

“You’re used to being the one who fixes and controls things.”
“And you’re used to doing everything alone.”

When Carina and Hutchy start spending more time together and they realize that they aren’t all that different from each other. They both live lonely lives and maybe—just maybe—they could envision themselves letting someone in. I loved seeing the development from Carina finally letting someone in close enough to let them take care of her and make decisions so that she doesn’t have to anymore.

“I don’t know what my version of forever is. But for the first time in a long time, I wonder what it might be like to have someone worth trying it with.”

Hutchy and Carina start a little fling and they are each other’s stress reliever. After brutal shifts, Carina starts to exhaust herself and after a long day of work, she forgets to take her birth control pill. Oopsies.

“You’re allowed to decide what happens next. That choice is yours, and I mean that. But don’t you dare think you need to carry this alone, or you have to protect me from the consequences. This didn’t just happen to you. We did this together. And whatever happens next—whatever you decide—I’m in it. I’m with you. But I need you to know that I would never walk away just because it’s not part of a perfect plan. Because I don’t want to be anywhere else.”

I know a lot of people aren’t fans of the pregnancy trope, but I AM! I can appreciate the pregnancy trope because I want to see how the MMC acts when he’s told that his woman is pregnant and I want to see how he treats her after! Reid Hutchison is a GOLD STAR! I love all of Hutchy’s showings of quiet love and acts of service for Carina. He’s always sending her food to make sure she eats, he gets a head start on their nursery without Carina having to even ask, he has a whole note on the Notes app about Carina and what she likes and dislikes. Where can I find a Reid Hutchison, Hailey?!

“You’ve been seeing me when I didn’t even know how to let myself be seen. I’ve spent my whole life trying to earn space, trying to be useful enough to deserve it. To be remembered and loved, and you just—gave it to me.”

I don’t think I’ve read a black cat x black cat trope before, but I really liked it because it’s honestly what I imagine a relationship for me to look like. The found family trope in this book and all of the other Colorado Storm books is just so heartwarming. I felt like I was there for brunch in Hutchy’s kitchen when Carina was first introduced to the rest of the team and their girls. And let’s not forget our furry little sidekick, Gremlin. There’s nothing I love more than a grump pet who only (barely) likes their owner, but LOVES their owner’s soon to be significant other.

I had an inkling that Carina was Korean from her last name, but didn’t want to assume anything. It wasn’t until Carina opened the birthday card from her dad that had “uli ttal” in there. My YEARS of watching Korean dramas has paid off because I knew what it meant and what it said. As an Asian-American reader, that part was very special.

There was a lot of thought and care that went into Over The Line. Tears were shed, I was laughing out loud, and I felt a personal connection to Carina. This book was emotional, but in the best way possible.

Thank you so much Hailey Rodger’s and the team at Luna Literary for the opportunity to read this as an ARC.

Being a women working in healthcare and a surgical setting working in an orthopedic setting, I have never felt so heard and seen.

I can resonate sooo much with Carina, a badass doctor who is always use to doing everything herself. Being the independent woman who is always in charge and who has always had to take care of herself. She’s cool and collected until a cocky, handsome, pierced professional athlete who is really a sweetheart underneath it all makes her see another side of herself and appreciate the sides
Of herself any people deem “too much” he embraces and loves.

Reid Hutchinson, the man you are…. He sends her food because coffee isn’t a real meal(us healthcare ladies know how to thrive on cafe and anxiety haha). He falls first done sooo right! He takes care of her and loves her in a way she’s never experienced. He gives her what she needs and u restarts her stress/struggles but also sees the sweet and caring/compassionate side of her. He lets her believe it will be a situationship but he continues to show up for her in ways that no temporary man who ever be able to.

Not always a fan of the surprise pregnancy trope but I absolutely ate this book up a the way he downloads apps to follow the baby’s progress and gets advice from all his friends who are dads, literally an A+ man in every way.

Women in healthcare fight sooo many battles but finding a partner who is their equal but who finds ways everyday to make them feel respected, cherished, and loved is all they want. He knows how to take control and run the show and he does a fine job at it! Manifesting this kind of love for myself lol he also keeps a note on his phone of all her favorite things😭

This was Hailey's debut series and that is impossible to wrap my head around. I have ARC read the final three books and LOVE all four of them! I am heartbroken the series is over, but what a freaking way to end it! Reid and Carina are literal perfection!

The way Reid falls head over butt for her. The way he loves her so completely and unconditionally. He doesn't expect or want her to change. He wants every piece of her, exactly as she is. The way he's so patient waiting for her to catch up and realize that she loves him the same way he loves her.

And does she ever love him. She's so supportive and loving, even before she realizes what it all means. When he falls apart, she puts him back together. They always know what the other needs and gives it completely.

And don't even get me started on the way Reid handles finding out she's pregnant. He was the ultimate Daddy from go! All the little things he does for her to try to make it easier on her. He was pushy when he needed to be in order to get her to take care of herself. And oh my God the way he melts for their baby. I melted right alongside him!

But don't think this book is all sweet and emotional, because these two are also HOTTT! The mouth on him....Her submussiveness because she needs someone to take over control and let her get lost in them. I'm pretty sure I got pregnant just reading it all.

It was all incredible, especially getting to see all our favorite people and to watch the way Hailey sets up one of the next series! In case you missed it Hailey is giving us not one, but two, new series!! One of which will take place in the clinic Carina works at, so we'll hopefully get to see some of our Colorado Storm people!

Hailey, my girl, it was incredible! All the freaking stars for my favorite book in one of my favorite series!! And yes, Daddy Reid Hutchison has taken the top spot on my Hailey Rodger MMC podium!

What to expect:
🏒 Grumpy Goalie x Sassy Surgical Resident
🩺 Found Family (chaos)
🏒 Accidental pregnancy
🩺 Strangers to Lovers
🏒 Age Gap (10 yrs)

Reid Hutchison is a Goalie for the Colorado Storms. The goal is to make it to the Olympics, but when a meniscus tear threatens that future at 39, then recovery time might cause him to miss his chance.

Carina Park is a Surgical resident at the Moreno Clinic that oversees Reid's surgery. She is one of the hardest working surgeons that takes her job seriously that she forgets to even take care of herself.

"I don’t know what my version of forever is. But for the first time in a long time, I wonder what it might be like to have someone worth trying it with."

From the moment they met, Reid was attracted to Carina's smart wits and tough demeanor. There was something about her that piqued his interest. He kept showing up for her, letting her know that he cares, something that she isn't use to. They might have started this relationship as nothing serious, too afraid to admit their true feelings but sometimes the unexpected causes people to commit in more ways than one.

Book 4 of the Colorado Storm series really brings out the emotions with the unexpected pregnancy. As a mother, there is nothing like it. I'm really impressed with how she was able to bring these two strangers together and have them overcome the challenges laid out in the story.

This is basically just a Hailey Rodger fan account at this point. I clearly just love Hailey's writing style because she never misses for me. The banter always hits so good and I love love love the Colorado Storm found family. I've been waiting for Hutchy since book one and he did not disappoint. He was every bit the grumpy goalie who's secretly the biggest softie that I wanted him to be. And the man comes with a ladder. Talk about acts of service. And then we have our girl Carina. Out here just trying to save the world, one OR at a time. I love seeing the outwardly "tough" characters find their person and start to discover more of themselves along the way and show a little bit of vulnerability and we get that with both Reid and Carina in this book. They're perfect for each other and I loved seeing them welcome sweet Ivy to their clan with Gremlin and the bees. You want to make me melt? Make a big tough guy all soft and gooey for a baby and I'm so there.

Hailey, never stop being you and bringing us these stories. I want every single one that's trapped in that marvelous brain of yours.

Big thanks to Hailey for the beta opportunity and Hailey and Luna Literary Management for the ARC.

"he’s beautiful like this. focused and grounded. absolutely feral about looking after the people he loves."

oh how i love hailey rodger. this series is very near and dear to my heart, and even though it's bittersweet that it's over, this book was the perfect conclusion.

carina and reid are such a beautiful couple, and they complement each other perfectly. they're opposites in so many ways, but they make sense together. reid is so, so gentle with carina and i cannot stress enough how perfect that man is. i mean, the character art of him? i need him and his slutty little mustache so bad. he was so careful and intentional in a way that made sense for carina, and he held her together when she felt like everything was falling apart. however, he didn't force himself into that role, he tread carefully and let her run the show (as he should), and listened so intently to what she needed. man of the year award goes to him for real. anyway, carina was a goddess. she worked so very hard and deserved every ounce of respect and success the world had to offer. whenever jenny came in, i genuinely wanted to reach through the screen of my kindle and grab her by the neck...and i'm being 100% serious. carina needed to beat her up for how disrespectful she was to her, but she remained calm, cool, and collected, which i respected even more. carina was so hardworking that she put that above everything else because she cared so deeply about her career. although, i was a bit cross with her for forgetting to take care of herself, but i absolutely understand it.

i adored the rainbow moments, the ketchup memories, the treehouse, and the overarching sense of family. in each of hailey's books you can feel the found family, which will only have you wishing that the friend group was your friend group with how big and loud they love each other.

some of my favourite quotes to convince you to read this masterpiece:

“Look at our little hospital bitch!” Chase Walton grins from ear to ear at the sight of me.

“Want me to knee you in the balls with my good leg?” He chuckles. “You are a good flirt, Hutchison.”

“If I wanted to kill you, Hutchison, I would’ve knicked an artery, not your knee.”

Reid didn’t just bring athletes, he built something special for Levi.

“You’re staring,” she murmurs.
“I know.”
She licks her lips. “You’re not subtle.”
My eyes stay on her mouth. “I know.”

The last thing I need is to be flustered over a man who can make me forget what day it is with one look and two fingers.

Because it’s her. Dr. Carina Park, with her walls and rules and careful control, is asking to come into my space. With no additional pretext or excuses.

“You built that treehouse.”
It’s not a question. “Yeah.”
“At nine.”
“Yep.”
She’s quiet again. “For someday.”

“But love doesn’t always wait for clean lines, Havoc,” he adds, his fingers trailing up my arm. “Sometimes it just… shows up and asks you to remove your piercings.”

What a bittersweet story to finish off an amazing series. I’ve been so honoured to support these books from book one, and while I don’t often complete a series, this one has been an absolute favourite from start to finish.

Over the Line, My Thoughts 📖
✨I loved how nothing felt rushed with Carina and Reid. You couldn’t help but sit back, devour, and enjoy the journey alongside them — something Hailey always does so beautifully across all her books.
✨The grump/grump trope was so fun to read — two very stubborn, reserved characters who discover their attraction runs so much deeper than either ever imagined.
✨Even in book four, Hailey doesn’t lose that funny, sharp banter, whether between Carina and Reid, the boys’ locker room, and beyond. 🤗🤗

✨This one hits harder emotionally, and I was here for every second of it. These two will absolutely steal your heart. ❤️
✨This book truly has it all — so many laugh out loud moments (Grumplestiltskin 🤣🤣🤣) balanced perfectly with the scenes that absolutely wrecked me. I lost count of how many times I had tears in my eyes, and Chapter 32? 😭🥰 I was completely choked up 🤧 Plus little Noah and Meadow’s speech sets the tone right from the start — grab your tissues early, you’ve been warned! 🥰 A tender full circle moment 💫

Hailey is firmly an auto-read author for me. I cannot wait for her upcoming new series, Maplewood Fire — and if you’ve read her recent Christmas novella, you’ve already had a delicious little sneak peek🔥🚒

Thank you to Luna Literary Management and the author for opportunity to read this e-arc and provide my thoughts 💞

This book was everything I needed! The first line had me laughing and I knew it was going to be a great book!

When Reid is injured & needs surgery, Carina assists the lead surgeon and sets him on the path to get back to the game he loves.

Reid is a grumpy goalie, but the way he softens for Carina melted my heart!

Carina has a tough exterior with control issues, but Reid gives her a safe place to relax.

When one missed pill gives us two pink lines, Carina goes into self-sabotage mode but Reid is there for her even more than she thought she’d ever deserve.

I absolutely loved the pace of their relationship - it wasn’t rushed, it was honest and raw, and kept me wanting more for them.

The way Reid treats Carina is absolutely goals for any book boyfriend!

The found family is this series is 100% feral but full of love! I am obsessed with all the banter, jokes and sweet moments between his teammates and their partners!

Thank you Luna Literary for this ARC copy in exchange for my honest review!

i was lucky enough to receive an arc of this book and i absolutely LOVED it!! genuinely, if i could rate it higher than five stars, i would! you know i love a good hockey romance, but this was so much more than that. i adored everything about reid and carina’s love story. the way they met, how he showed up for her from day one and never stopped, the way they fell in love while navigating preparing for a baby that might’ve been unexpected but was already so cherished. maybe it’s just me but i also really love mmc’s who unapologetically take care of the woman they love and reid did that in so many ways, i can’t even begin to count. plus, seeing carina let herself be taken care of and allow someone to help her while also standing strong about her job in such a demanding and male dominated field tugged at my heartstrings too. truly, all the way around, one of the best sports romances i’ve ever read and i’ll never stop recommending it to people!

If you love found family and grumpy characters who slowly learn to open up, this book will definitely be for you.

Hailey Rodger truly knows how to write found family. One of my favorite parts of this book—and the whole series—was seeing how the characters show up for each other and build such a strong support system.

Both main characters start off as quite grumpy, stubborn, and closed off, but throughout the story they slowly learn to open up and allow themselves to accept comfort and support from others. Watching their emotional growth and the development of their relationship was really enjoyable.

I also appreciated how the story handled the unexpected pregnancy and how both characters processed and dealt with it. Their reactions felt emotional but also mature and realistic.

Reid might come across as the typical grumpy goalie on the outside, but his love language is definitely acts of service. Beneath that gruff exterior he has such a soft and caring side, and it was wonderful to see him step into his new role as a dad.

Carina is a strong and independent woman who has always believed she doesn’t need anyone. But once she finally lets Reid in and accepts his help, she realizes that allowing someone to support you is not a sign of weakness.

Both characters felt mature and supportive of each other, which made their relationship even more satisfying to read.

The Sunday brunch scenes were such a highlight for me. Seeing everyone come together to support each other really emphasized the found family dynamic that makes this series so special.

This ended up being my favorite book in the series and a bittersweet goodbye to these characters.

Perfect for fans of:
• accidental pregnancy
• age gap
• found family
• grumpy x grumpy (plus a grumpy cat)
• dual POV

Let me tell you, I have been waiting for Hutchy's story since I met him in book 1 and his story did not disappoint. However, if you're starting here, you'll be perfectly fine. Hailey does a great job of contextualizing all of the other characters and how they are all connected.

Let me just say, there is just something about a Goalie that just does it for me. I don't know why I love goalies more than other players, but Hutchy was perfect.

Hutchy and Carina, however, were pure magic together. How they pushed (mainly Carina) and pulled (always Hutchy) each other in ways the other didn't know they needed was developed wonderfully. And here is where I think the goalie aspect comes into play. Hutchy is observant; I would say more so than the other guys. He doesn't require a lot of talk, but when he shows up, he gives you what you need, even if you were aware that you needed it, and that is exactly what he does for Carina. As much as he wants to keep her from pushing him away, He gives her the space to navigate her own feelings in her own time, all the while still showing up and proving to her every day that he isn't going away. That he will take what she is willing to give (no matter how much he wants to push for more). I think I rooted harder for these two to get together than for any other couple.

And excused Mr. Hutchy. The mouth on this man... Who knew? It's always the quiet ones, I say...

I loved the fact that all of the others still played a role in this novel too; I am going to miss the Sunday brunches and Meadow's crazy antics. I loved how the women welcomed her with such ease into their friend group. I think this part is where I connected on a more personal level with Carina and when she found her people, I could understand the relief she felt. That moment when you just know that these people are going to accept you exactly as you are and have your back no matter what.

and don't get me started on the guys. I loved them all since book one and their brotherhood, well, it is something all guy groups should aspire to. No matter what, they have each other's backs. The banter, the locker room, the group chat (some of my favorite reading).

Also, I could not provide a review without mentioning the Awesome chapter titles. I love books with chapter titles and Hailey's books have some of my favorite titles!

Thank you Hailey Rodger for the ARC

✨ARC Review✨

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

When I applied to be an ARC reader for Seal the Deal I never thought I’d be lucky to be one for all four books in this series.

I absolutely love all of Hailey Rodger’s Storm players but Reid has a special place in my heart. I will advise that there is a surprise pregnancy in this book. It’s done well and I think it gives a realistic take on the situation but if you are not a fan of them this is probably not the book for you.

Hutchy is the best kind of man, the one who will show up every day and show you his love through his actions. Carina is an amazing surgeon who has always had to earn attention until she meets Reid who shows her what love really is. If you have not read the Colorado Storm Series yet… you need to asap.

I went into Over the Line with a bit of hesitation since my experience with this author has been mixed: book 2 didn’t quite work for me, but book 3 completely won me over. I’m so glad I gave this one a chance, because it delivered in all the best ways.

This story has some nice tropes:accidental pregnancy, age gap, and a hockey romance, but what really made it stand out was the execution. The grumpy x grumpy dynamic was so fun and refreshing, and the chemistry between the goalie and surgeon pairing felt intense, natural, and believable. Carina was such a strong female lead. Focused, driven, and completely unshaken, even when faced with a very grumpy, injured hockey player. I loved how she held her ground and never lost sight of who she was or what she wanted. And the hero? Absolutely swoon-worthy once you get past the walls.
The emotional buildup felt real, the conflict made sense, and the story never felt overly dramatic or forced. And that epilogue? Perfect. It tied everything together in such a satisfying way.
Definitely one of my favorites in the series!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
