I do need the next holiday hollow book asap. Great captivating storyline, good strong characters.
Its starts with a midlife divorcee lost and struggling to find her place, she makes a drunken bid on a whimsical house, only for it to turn her life upside down but in the best way.
There is a murder that needs solving, there is plenty of action, new friendships, plenty of chemistry, along with a cliffhanger of an ending, leaving you wanting more.

Halloween Mystery
This is a sweet cozy mystery perfect for Halloween or anytime. I was a fun quick read that had my hooked start to finish. Lacey Carter has once again created some wonderful characters. I love Grace and her friends. Grace moves to town following her divorce and instantly has a found family, discovers things about herself and maybe even a new romance. Can't wait to read what happens next as things transition into Christmas.

Of the few cozy fantasies of Lacey Carter (Andersen) that I've read, Halloween Haunting is my favorite so far. It's perfect for reading on a dark and rainy night.
At the beginning of this, Grace is fresh off a divorce and is a bit of a mess, not that I can blame her. The more I learn about her ex, the more I think the divorce was a blessing. His judgmental behavior towards Grace made her a shadow of herself. However, that soon changes.
Grace lucks up by stumbling across the town of Holiday Hollow. It's almost Halloween, and the town is doing it up. This town is as close to perfection as it gets. I ate up the descriptive details Lacey gave us from the decorations to the parties. I love the strong representation of female friendships. Grace met an incredible group of women who were welcoming and accepting. Some of my favorite moments were when they were bonding. They were willing to stand by her through anything, including hunting down a killer.
Turns out in a supernatural town, Grace isn't as normal as she thought. Grace is getting visions, and she finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery, but with a supernatural twist. There was never a dull moment. Things alternated from comfy and cozy to exciting and back again, and I loved every minute of it. Halloween Haunting was amazing! The mystery was solved only to reveal a bigger mystery. I can't wait for the next book. Anyone looking for a cozy mystery that's perfect for Halloween, then I highly suggest this one. Ten stars.

Halloween Haunting by Lacey Carter Anderson is the first in a series of cozy mysteries. Recently divorced Grace finds herself moving to the town of Holiday Hollow where finds new friends that welcome her immediately. As she learns more about her friends and the town she discovers there's a lot more to this town than its love of holidays. When she discovers she has magic of her own in the form of psychic powers she finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery that only she can solve. Will she help catch the murderer before he strikes again?
This was a very light hearted read. Grace is really down and out from her divorce, but the move and her new friends seem to make everything better. Despite some spooky surprises the move is just what she needed. I enjoyed the realism of the story. I could relate to the emotional roller-coaster Grace was on from the divorce, the move, and everything else. I love stories that are centered on mid-life characters likely because I'm a 40 year old mom of 4. The spooky scenes were very PG. Similar to a Hallmark movie or nighttime TV drama.
If you enjoy murder mysteries based in a small town, independent women, secrets, magic, supernatural creatures, and holiday vibes then Halloween Haunting is a perfect read for you!

Halloween, my favourite holiday by far and away.
Grace has had a rough go of it. Finding herself being served by her ex-husband after he finds a woman half his age has her feeling inadequate and less than. Unable to have children, through no fault of her own, Grace finds herself adrift when her husband finds someone who can.
Divorced, with all her worldly possessions able to fit into her car, she finds herself at a loss as to what to do and where to go next. Her meagre settlement is all she has to find a place to live, and during a well deserved drunken wallow in a highway motel, she finds an unbelievable home in a place she has never heard of and, in her inebriated honesty, fills out an application to purchase it.
Waking up with a hell of a hangover, to Grace's shock, she finds that she has a new home and a fresh start.
Aside from the town she moves to and the circumstances of her abilities, Grace's story felt personally relatable, as a person who has kind of been on the outside looking in and always questioning their own value. I enjoyed the story, and it was a short, enjoyable Halloween read.

Such a fantastic cozy mystery!
I loved this new series by Lacey Carter – it is a cozy mystery that has so much potential!!
Imagine being newly divorced with barely any money after the divorce. Drunk on wine, you find the most perfect house online at an auction price you can actually afford. Imagine getting woke up (hung over obviously) by a call saying that you WON the house and that you can move in the next day. Feels like a dream, right?
Well, when Grace gets to the cool little town called Holiday Hollow and the house is amazing, she thinks that it must be too perfect to be true. There has to be a catch right? Well… there is a catch. The town is not just a cool town that loves to decorate for the holidays – it’s a haven for supernaturals, and Grace has just found out that not only is SHE a supernatural, but everyone she has met is also one. Grace is exactly what this town has needed – a psychic.

With the liquid courage in one hand, and a petty text from her ex husbands new arm candy in the other, she soon finds herself full swing in a magical ride involving the lantern house. However, the luck that got her here seems to run out when this seemingly perfect town gets flipped on its head by someone she felt immediately bonded with revealing secrets of her perfect town that she’s not sure she can handle. What a delight!!! LCA does it again, this time with a cute cozy mystery set in the mysterious town of Holiday Hollow. This book follows the MFC, Grace, a newly divorced woman, out to start her new journey in this strange town. Enter the hottie Deputy, Bryant Paulsen, with some hidden truths of his own. Definitely a one sitting type of read, highly recommend to anyone loving a good mystery and crime thriller, with just the right amount of supernatural, girl bonding, and slow simmering romance!
Ended on an absolute CLIFF hanger and I cannot wait to see what the rest of the series will contain as we continue to explore the spooky town of Holiday Hollow. Perfect cozy read for the Halloween season and spooky, fall vibes!!

We meet Grace who is going through a rough time. She ends up in Holiday Hollow where things take a turn for her. Grace has this sweet and charming personality that you can’t help but love. Her new found friends are absolutely fantastic with her. The story is packed with drama, suspense, and mystery. Things really heat up quickly for Grace. This was a quicker read but it is not missing anything. I had just wanted more as I loved it so much. The is extremely well written and developed, just like everything I have read by Lacey Carter Andersen. She writes a world that pulls you in and keeps you glued to it. This one was no different. It doesn’t end in so much of a cliffhanger but more that it leaves room for more from these amazing characters. Definitely a fabulous read that doesn’t disappoint.

Cozy and spooky Halloween read that warms you up from the inside. Grace is a middle-aged woman freshly after divorce, feeling like her life lost all sense. In a drunken pity party for one, she opens her laptop to search for a place she can call home and start anew - and finds s place almost like from a fairytale. Moving to Holiday Hollow is more than just fresh start, though. Experiencing life fully for the first time comes with a side effect of a mysterious murder in her new oasis, exposure to the supernatural, and one charming Sheriff's deputy.
I really enjoyed this charming story with a little deathly twist. It was heart-warming, seeing how Grace found friends, a place to call home, and even some blooming romance. The supernatural element in the book is magical, and I would love to see more of Holiday Hollow in the future.

Looking for a cozy, under 20 chapter book, that is central around this halloween season? Look no further.
I love all of LCA books, and I jumped at this one, not realizing she has multiple series about midlife under this pen name!
This was a cute book about starting over and making friends at midlife. And as someone who had to uproot her life 3 years ago and have had a hard time connecting with people in my new state, it filled a hole that has been slowly growing. There is hope!
It doesn't hurt that we have my favorite trope of mundane finding out magic is real and they are in fact, not mundane in this book.
I am excited to see what each holiday brings in this series as it gives hints of Grace's past while focusing on the present, and while we are introduced to hottie mcneighbor, romance is only hinted at, making it a cozy mystery.

Starting over and discovering yourself is always a good start to a novel for me, and this sits alongside a normie discovering the supernatural and their place in it. Grace's reactions are amongst some of the most normal and relatable that I've come across, ever!

This has been fun to read. A little bit of romance and a whole lot of mystery. I love everything that Lacey puts out.. The story telling is amazing!

The next morning, she received a phone call telling her she's won this house and she can move in very soon. The town is quaint and everyone feels like she's known everyone for forever. She discovers her neighbor is the deputy in town. She begins to discover that everything she thought she knew is incredibly wrong. She begins to have visions that come true. She teams up with the Deputy to use them for the towns benefit and boom! she's got a job!!

I as a military brat related to Grace to her not being able to make friends as you are always the new girl, and just about the time you adjust and start to make friends, your parent get orders and your move again. So just imagine how it must feel after years of a lackluster marriage and then a divorce, to find yourself in a new place with 3 ladies that you instantly mess with. So, what if one is a witch, one a mermaid, and one is a vampire! Amazingly Grace has special gift. She is suddenly working with the police and with a very hunky man or ? is he, Grace is trying help him solve a murder. Oh, the excitement a ghost and she bid on a house and won but what comes with it besides furniture? What a wonderful exciting story to read for Halloween, however I can’t wait for Christmas.

Lacey gives us a fun holiday frolic to begin a new series! Grace is a forties divorcé with not much left after the ex divorced her. Being drunk on wine, she makes a bid on the whimsical Lantern House across the country and is approved. This leads to magic, new friends, murder and the hunky sheriff next door. To find out more, dive into this enchantingly written book with complex characters and plot twists that keep you guessing and turning pages throughout. I loved reading this story and highly recommend it, I can't wait for the next installment from Holiday Hollow! Don't miss out on this book!!

I love a good magical/paranormal cozy, and since I’ve come to like this author’s fairly new one, I was excited to try this one. I loved Grace and her crazy path to her new town and life. The idea of a town that basically gets its magical “juice” from the joy holidays bring to people just warms me up inside. While I thought that she and her new friends bonded just a little quickly, and some other things were a little glossed over, I still enjoyed this so very much, and I can’t wait to see if there’s going to be more. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

This was a fun quick read. Grace is recently divorced and finds herself pulled toward the cozy little town of Holiday Hollow. All is not as it seems and now Grace is having visions. I loved that this book didn’t have a big focus on romance, but on Grace and her building something for herself after her divorce. With her looking back at her marriage we learn that her ex was a bit of an emotionally abusive tool. But in true Lacey fashion we get hit with that cliffhanger at the end!

Grace is fresh off a divorce and is a bit of a mess, she luckily stumbles upon the small town of Holiday Hollow. There the town is preparing for Halloween. Grace starts to get visions, and she finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery, but with a supernatural twist, add in some amazing women who she can call friends and a very handsome sheriffs deputy and you have the makings for an amazing story. I loved this one and even though it left on a cliff hanger I can not wait for the next one to come out.

Grace is a 43 yo divorcee that stumbles on a beautiful home in a little town she's never heard of. She learns so much about herself in this book, and it's refreshing to read about a FMC my age, lol.
She realized that all of the things she thought she knew about herself and the world around her were wrong. The growth she displays, not to mention the realization that her marriage wasn't great, was fantastic. The mystery is well written as well!!

What a cute story! I love Grace and her new best friends.
Grace is very recently divorced and having a hard time of it until she makes a winning bid on a house. Then things get strange, for a short time, then she makes best friends and found family. Not to mention the attraction to the Sheriff Deputy and the murder. I like the idea of magic making the holidays better. This is book one meaning I am looking forward to reading book 2 .. very soon.

Grace is very recently divorced and having a hard time of it until she makes a winning bid on a house. Then things get strange, for a short time, then she makes best friends and found family. Not to mention the attraction to the Sheriff Deputy and the murder. I like the idea of magic making the holidays better. This is book one meaning I am looking forward to reading book 2 .. very soon.

This is a cute fast read. Lacey does a great job pacing the story and it doesn't feel like a shorter book than normal.
The story follows Grace as she navigates a new journey in life in a new mysterious town of Holiday Hollow. You're introduced to a lot of interesting characters that I hope we get to see more of in future books.
She finds herself with a scooby doo level of girlfriends that are loyal from the start. And she is also helping the sexy town sheriff try and solve a murder mystery.
I'm so sad this ended on a cliffhanger! I'm looking forward to book two!

A midlife story of a divorcee who relocated after winning a bid on the Lantern House in Holiday Hollow’s, she is able to finally find people who care about her, however there is a murder to solve and she recently came into psychic abilities that also go with her previous experience of a PI assistant ( exaggerated ) she worked for a Private investigator, but who to say she didn’t learn a few things? For a cute quick story in a quirky town this is for you.

This is relatively on the short side as far as length but it does not disappoint. Grace moved to Holiday Hollow after her divorce. Things are not as they seem in this town. There's the supernatural variety and after Grace moves there her psychic powers wake up. She has visions that come true. She helps the deputy solve things. You have a sexy deputy, a psychic, and a town full of intrigue, murder and mayhem. The best combination. I thoroughly enjoyed this fun book.

One life evaluating questionnaire later she's the new owner of the Lantern house. Surprises are in store as she drives into her new life and embraces all the changes. Cozy quaint murder mystery that pulls you in for the next chapter.

I love all things Lacey Carter! Different from her usual ive read but addictive and fairly quick read. Very fast paced, love interest without smut (yet 👀) lovely word build of this magical town and how its a haven for all these gifted people. Looking forward to where book 2 goes as ultimately its a murder mystery and really enthralling! Tbh id read a book 2 without the unsolved murder just to get more of the characters, really good read and highly recommend!

This book just has a fun magical touch. Grace moving to a new town to have a fresh start and discovering a town that loves everything holiday. We get awakened powers visions of murder and a sexy man to make this story fun to read. Love a little murder mystery with a side of spooky just in time for Halloween.
