This book is a MUST read for EVERYONE, empowering you with knowledge to take your health back!

Dr. Hartman blows the cover off of why traditional healthcare today is not enough to keep us healthy...in fact, it may be keeping us sick! Dr. Hartman gives practical step-by-step guidance and scientifically backed treatments for how YOU can be your own expert to find health, recovery, and wellness.

This book gives you tools for how to empower yourself with knowledge to be your own expert. It includes a Transformational Toolkit full of information on making your environment healthy, recommended supplements and treatments (all backed by research), and a 30 day implementation plan to get you started. Dr. Hartman is a canary in the coal mine sounding the alarm on the dangers of today's practice of medicine but gives us hope and steps to take for us to begin to heal.

Dr. Hartman, who graduated top of his class from medical school, vulnerably shares how he and his wife (also a medical professional) confusingly found that conventional medicine wasn't working for their medically complex daughter. With courage and deep devotion to their daughter's healing, Dr. Hartman and his wife refused to accept the limited options they were provided by the “experts” and realized they must educate themselves to be the expert their daughter needed. They expanded their knowledge beyond the traditional teachings at medical schools, read countless books and medical journals, learned about alternative and holistic medicine, and studied different healing practices used across the world to develop ideas on how he could help his daughter. He was able to make connections other doctors couldn't and implement much less invasive and risky practices for his daughter, where even to his amazement, he saw miraculous improvement (improvements the experts said were not possible even with their recommended treatments).

With gaining so much knowledge in his search to help his daughter, Dr. Hartman took his learnings to his medical practice where he was able to connect the dots for patients who had been dismissed and told "it must just be anxiety" or "all your bloodwork is fine." He listened to each patient and found things that had been missed for years and then helped these patients improve dramatically.

Seeing first hand the miraculous changes in patients, he has now made it his life's mission to educate ALL OF US with all his years of research and practice by sharing this book including links to countless resources and guides he has developed over time.

Some of my favorite quotes from this book are:
"You must become both an educated consumer and an active participant in healthcare decisions. The stakes are simply too high to delegate this responsibility entirely to anyone else, no matter their credentials or intentions."
"You don't need a medical degree to reclaim ownership of your health - you need guts, strategy, and the willingness to question everything."
"Nobody is more qualified to fight for your well-being than you are"

This book will CHANGE YOUR LIFE , and may even SAVE it!

“It isn’t a miracle - it’s medicine; precision-personalized medicine” are Dr Hartman’s words about his daughter’s transformation. But reading about her condition when born and her prognosis it seems like a miracle. I love this book. It gives you hope that no matter where you are and what is your condition (or your loved one’s) you can heal and you can get your life back, because of what Anna has done and is still doing.
But this book is so much more than just this inspirational story. The author gives you a very clear and precise guidance on how to start your journey back to health or how to stay healthy. On how to navigate the mainstream medicine, how to question the science - and why, but most of all to give a natural, holistic medicine a chance. You don’t need to discard one to try another. How to choose a good functional doctor that will look for a root cause of your illness.
The book is packed with many resources and link to Dr Hartman’s website where you can educate yourself.
And somehow, even if you heard some of the listed recommendations before, you believe them and Dr Hartman more, because you see how it transformed him, his family and have Anna as an example and inspiration. As a mom, I have to also mention Dr Hartman’s wife Becky who is such a big part of this story. All this would not happen without her researching, supporting her husband and family while fighting her own health problems.
I myself have 24 years old autistic son, and if I believed everything what specialists have told me, my son would be in an institution, medicated and cut off from a normal life. But I didn’t and I kept looking for answers, educating myself and looking for a good holistic doctor and alternative therapies, without discarding the mainstream medicine and therapies, but choosing wisely. My son is still far from being independent, but he lives with us, enjoys his life and brings joy to many people around.
And this book gives me a guidance and a hope for his future. Let it become that for you too.

This book was a real eye-opener regarding personal responsibility for your own health. Dr. Hartman gives example after example of how this whole-body and sometimes “unconventional” approach to health has resulted in what seem to be “miracles.” In many ways, the current medical world either doesn’t have or doesn’t take the time to look beyond the symptoms and often jumps straight to the “conventional” treatment.

Dr. Hartman has done so much research and provides documentation through a QR code link at the end of every chapter. His (and his family’s) journey began with trying to use alternative treatments for his daughter’s multiple health issues including cerebral palsy and defying all conventional treatments (which pretty much involved accepting the health issues for what they were, which offered absolutely no hope for a meaningful future). This journey has led to an admonition and warning to the reader that no one cares more about YOUR health than YOU - including conventional doctors.

He warns that the reader should never accept the “band aids” offered by traditional doctors, but rather do your own research or seek out medical professionals who look at all kinds of factors through thorough diagnostics, nutrition, and other factors not considered by the regular doc who spends 10 minutes to diagnose a health issue and prescribes some medicine to treat the symptoms. Dr. Hartman is convinced, and tries to convince the reader to look further if the treatments and medicines don’t work, and try to identify the root cause or causes of the condition or issue.

This review doesn’t do the book justice. It is well worth the read for all of the documented research, real world examples, and a workable plan for making changes to and for your own health.

UnCURABLE by Dr. Aaron Hartman is a remarkable story of one doctor’s (and wife’s) journey to fight against the standard care their daughter, Anna, and to find alternative methods and therapies to give their daughter a better life. The story is inspiring to read as Dr. Hartman and his wife outline everything they did, working outside traditional medicine to enable Anna to defy medical expectations.

In addition to the story of Anna, Dr. Hartman talks about several other clients who had baffling conditions, and how working with alternative therapies, as well not accepting “it’s all in their head” or “there’s nothing that can be done”, to find the cause of the ailment, and treat it.

Dr. Hartman speaks of how current medicine is broken and how it has to change. However, it is not just medicine. He talks about all of us being our own doctor and advocate when working with our physicians; to not blindly accept everything told to us. It’s necessary to question the doctor when you don’t understand what they are suggesting. It is important to get second opinions if there are any questions at all. Dr. Hartman wants to empower us to be our own advocate.

The last part of the book speaks of things we can do to make ourselves healthier, to eat healthier (organic when you can get it), and to exercise more to strengthen your body. Dr. Hartman talks about medical tests that should be done to ensure that your body is functioning well.

Healthcare has to change, and we must be a part of that change.

Using his family that experienced many difficult medical conditions, Dr. Hartman shows the pathway of going beyond traditional medication to willingness and curiosity to try out of the box therapies, treatments and other alternative methods to treat his family and also to treat his patients.
Dr. Hartman is passionate about helping patients find the solutions to their painful conditions or illnesses that most doctors do not know how to treat. He explains scienced based treatments, to nutritional diets, considering environmental factors and how to see the whole person and do a deep dive into the history and symptoms of his patients.
The book uses personal family symptoms and challenges and how this change of how to approach illness can lead to more healthy living. He introduces you to many treatment plans and options from medicine to functional integrative methods to food sources to science and cutting edge technologies and treatments not normally thought of for patients. Each chapter gives practical information and resources for how to become an advocate for your own health but also a doctor who is willing to think outside the typical box to treat his patients. He helps the reader to become more educated on complex and complicated conditions and gives you hope there may be a solution to your health condition.

UNCURABLE is more than a memoir — it’s a breathtaking story of courage, faith, and the limitless possibilities of love. Dr. Hartman’s journey with his daughter Anna begins with heartbreaking medical odds and unfolds into a story of hope that defies everything you and I think we know about health, healing, and possibilities.

As Anna grows, so does her father’s understanding of what true medicine means.

The book beautifully bridges science and spirituality, exploring the profound connection between nutrition and healing. Dr. Hartman’s discoveries place UNCURABLE among the very best books on holistic medicine, blending rigorous medical insight with compassion, curiosity, and deep humanity.

For anyone drawn to alternative medicine books or stories of personal transformation, this one stands apart.
It’s not theory — it’s lived experience.
Dr. Hartman’s voice is humble, heartfelt, and utterly convincing as he shows how faith and functional medicine can come together to create something extraordinary.

By the end, I was both in tears and inspired.
UNCURABLE reminds us that sometimes the greatest breakthroughs happen not in labs or hospitals, but in the quiet strength of a family who refuse to give up.

This book is part information, part inspiration--definitely worth a read for anyone interested in what's possible in the healthcare arena. The author, a Functional Medicine physician, tells the story of his own journey in discovering what was best for his young daughter, a child born with multiple medical challenges. Very quickly, he learned that traditional medicine was not focused on what was possible, but rather what had always been done. Luckily for her, her father seems to be a fairly brilliant guy with a scientific mind and big heart. I enjoyed reading how he and his wife (a Pediatric Occupational Therapist) teamed up to create the very best environment for their entire family.

This is a great book for anyone wanting to know what's outside of traditional medicine. It goes into all kinds of areas which affect our wellbeing--from medicine to food to the air in our house. I especially like the extensive resources offered (there's a QR code). It's nice to be able to delve more deeply into a particular area that interests you. I will note the author can to be a little repetitive at times, but I put that down to his passion for truly wanting to educate readers. And I definitely feel educated (and inspired)!

Highly recommend this book!

This book is essentially a love story; the love for an incredible, courageous, and resilient little girl. That love infuses the entire family and family life. It is a love that moves Dr. Hartman to extensive research and a new direction in his practice of medicine, thereby touching the lives of thousands of people who become advocates and participants in their own health and healing. By learning of Dr. Hartman’s own struggles dealing with the traditional health system, the reader gains courage and confidence to speak up and step beyond conventional wisdom to maximize our health potential with the understanding that our bodies naturally move toward healing. This book offers clear strategies based on fundamentals including: eating real food to optimize our self-healing, accessing our food and environment in order to remove toxins, physical exercise, and social/spiritual support connections. Information offered goes well beyond the pages of this book as each chapter has bar codes with links to additional research and resources. This book is truly a gift. I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed reading this book about alternative medicine because it really opened my eyes to the nutritional and health benefits. This book touched on so many areas that pertain to my health. I was worried it would be too technical for me to understand and follow but that was not the case with this book. I read a few chapters at a time and that worked great for me. I am looking forward to reading it again with my highlighter so I can use the book as in ongoing source of information. The personal information from Dr.Hartman really made this book resonate to me. I learned I need to be my own health advocate. I realized that besides conventional medicine I also need to use alternative and holistic medicine approaches as well. By reading this book I feel I now have the tools and information to find all the ways to help myself be my healthiest version. Excellent

In this age of medicine where Doctors only give you 9 minutes of their time, provide treatments to mask the problem, this book will provide a blueprint for getting to the root cause and true healing. I never learned how to be a good patient, then I ran into a medical issue that wasn’t going away. I set off on a journey to find out what was going on in my body.

With the help of this book you can start on the road to healing buy providing your body the nutrition it requires to function and eliminating harmful substances. This is an excellent book that demonstrates both the good and the bad of the current health care system. It brings a message of HOPE that if you or a loved one have a mystery diagnosis or “uncurable” disorder your current life doesn’t have to be the ‘status quo’. There can be more for you, you just have to advocate to get there and this book is a guide in how to do that and find better help!!!
My key take away from this book: Sometimes working in an unconventional way can yield the largest gains. Thus, enabling you to be the healthiest version of you- you’re able to be using root cause integrative medicine as a roadmap!

A round of applause and thanks to Dr. Hartman for his hard won pearls of wisdom enlightening those who will read and listen.

If you have ever felt dismissed or hopeless in the medical system, this book feels like a lifeline. The explanations of the Triangle of Health and the focus on nutrition, inflammation, and lifestyle make so much sense to me, especially when paired with real examples of people beating expectations. I appreciated and enjoyed that the message is not anti-science at all, but it’s about using all available science to help the body heal. The story of a child overcoming a devastating diagnosis is really heartbreaking and uplifting, and it gives the whole book a powerful emotional foundation.
After reading it, I felt educated, encouraged, and more confident that the human body is capable of far more than most of us realize.

This book has truly opened my eyes to many important realities. I had always believed that doctors would exhaust every possible option to ensure the best outcome for their patients. However, after reading the first two chapters, I now understand that this is not always the case. This book has taught me the importance of seeking second opinions, questioning the options presented by medical professionals, and taking a more active role in managing my own health. Anna’s story, and the determination shown by her and her parents, is deeply inspiring. It motivates me to advocate not only for myself but also for other children who may not have the opportunity to advocate for themselves.

This book was a fantastic reminder to focus on the root cause of diagnoses and illnesses. I especially liked the idea that we should focus on nutrition as foundational and think of your gut as mission control for your entire body. With 2 autistic kids, it was nice to have some specific things to try that we have not already explored. I also really liked the section on biohacks and detox protocols. I thought that I had tried everything that I could to help myself feel better, but there were definitely some new things for me here (as well as some things I should try again). Recommend for anyone looking for an alternative to a broken system.

This book left me feeling hopeful in a way I didn’t expect. So many people are stuck believing that a diagnosis is the end of the story, but this shows that healing can look very different from what standard medicine predicts. I think that the personal journey shared is emotional and inspiring, and the medical explanations are clear without being overwhelming.
Also, I liked how it focuses on real solutions (nutrition, lifestyle, advocacy) and doesn’t promise miracles but shows what’s scientifically possible. Anyone who has been told: there’s nothing else you can do, should read this. It proves that the body can do incredible things when given the chance.

Really enjoyed this read

I really liked the mix of science and compassion. This isn’t a book full of theories or hype. It’s a story backed by experience, research, and real outcomes. Being honest, it opened my eyes to how often root causes are ignored and how much power patients have in their own recovery. The stories of people who were told they’d never improve, and then did, are totally motivating and grounding. It teaches you how to advocate for yourself, ask the right questions, and explore options that most doctors never mention. I walked away believing that uncurable might just mean unexplored.

This book is great for those who are just starting on a path towards functional medicine as well as those well versed in alternative ways. The book follows Dr. Hartman’s path to learning a different way through his daughters own health journey. I loved that each section provided resources so each reader can be empowered to take ownership of their own health journeys.

It’s refreshing to hear a doctor admit they don’t know all of the answers and that it’s okay to be okay to do things a little differently.

There's no gatekeeping here. Dr. Hartman shares generously from his remarkable wealth of clinical knowledge and lived experiences. I wish every person who is a patient and loves someone who is a patient could read this book so they know how to advocate for themselves, find answers, and know there is hope. I wish every health provider could read this because I'm betting there are more out there who resonate with this personalized medicine approach. It's the health care we have all been deeply yearning for and deserve.

Dr. Hartman is brilliant — no question there — but I found it so helpful to see a time when he didn’t have all the answers (and what got him to from there to here). I needed to be reminded that I don’t need to have all the answers yet either — just a commitment to chase after them and never give up.

He’s right, no one cares as much about your health as you do. I have to take action to heal myself. If I want to stop just treating my symptoms, I have to stop accepting the doctor’s symptom-only treatment, and find a doctor that will help me work towards removing the cause.
