I pounced on this book when it arrived in our delivery last week. Working in a bookshop, we often get books in ahead of publication date and as soon as I saw the orangey hue of Giovanna’s new cover, I grabbed a copy and put it aside, ready to buy at the end of my shift!
After work I went straight to the Costa opposite the shop and got straight down to reading it!
Dream A Little Dream is the story of Sarah who seems to be ticking along just fine. She’s got a job, lives with her friend, has a weekly quiz night at the pub and it FINE with the fact she still hangs out with her ex and his new girlfriend. But when she starts having vivid dreams, she begins to wonder if her waking life can end up being as perfect as her dreams. When her dream man starts becoming a permanent fixture in her life, the last thing she expects is for her dream man, Brett, to appear in real life. But, when he does, Sarah has to try and distinguish between Dream Brett and Real Brett who are two very different people…
Sarah has to work out whether reality can ever be better than your dreams or are dream men only dream men for a reason?
I LOVED this book. Gi’s two previous books Billy And Me and You’re The One That I Want were both brilliant so I was worried that her third novel wouldn’t be able to match up to the previous two, but it does! It really does.
Dream A Little Dream is one of those books you can start reading and not look up from the book until you’re halfway through it. I was so drawn into the characters lives and invested in the plot that hours passed by and I had no desire to put the book down. Books like this are the BEST!
Sarah was a fantastic protagonist who I warmed to straight away – she was the kind of person I wanted to be friends with! I couldn’t help but admire her for her kindness and friendliness. In the beginning she was a slight bit of a walkover and often put up with a load of crap but as the plot progressed, she grew in strength and became such a strong and independent woman who was a complete role model.
I adored the fact Sarah’s dream man suddenly came into her life and the juxtaposition between the dream Brett and real Brett was fantastic – each one had their quirks and their plus points and it was hilarious to watch Sarah try and navigate the tricky path between the two of them. She managed it much better than I would have!
The cast of characters that surrounded Sarah were fantastic. There was her gorgeous flat mate, her ex-boyfriend and his new partner, her quiz team, her boss, her colleagues…there were so many characters but each one seemed to play a key part in Sarah’s life and each one brought something to the plot. I hate it when characters seem to appear for no reason, but every character we met had a reason to be there.
Whilst Dream A Little Dream was predominantly upbeat and had a gorgeous love story at the heart of it, it also addressed some sensitive topics. I’m not going to talk about them because it will spoil the plot but I just wanted to say how fantastic Gi dealt with these issues. She can write about any topic with suck skill and compassion.
I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it!
Dream A Little Dream is the perfect book to read on the beach, by the pool or in the garden this summer. It is compelling and addictive and will keep you glued to the pages. Also, if you pop to Waterstones, you will get a free short story at the back too! Which is a total bonus.
I cannot wait for Gi’s next book now! She seems to get better with each book she writes and her voice is really starting to come through and become recognisable. I am so excited to see what comes next!

Let’s start this review by saying that I like Giovanna Fletcher. I’m not quite sure how I stumbled into her, maybe her wedding video. Have you watched it?
It is SO cute! The point is, I think she’s nice and funny and I like her! And I wanted to LOVE her books. However after You're the One That I Want my expectations were pretty low, and this one didn’t raise them.
Just like I said last time, her best feature is how real her characters are, you’ll feel transported into a new world, the problem is… I’m not sure you’re going to like it.
In this case, our main character is a complete pushover. It was painful read how her boyfriend dumped her, and how she made herself act like nothing ever happened so that their group of friends would not have to split and choose sides. It’s even more painful when you realize she did that because she wasn’t sure they were going to pick her. She has a job she doesn’t like, where they treat her like crap and a mother who’s horrible.
It’s just… sad.
And the romance was not cute enough to lift it up. I think this is definitely the last book of Gio I’ll be reading. Sad sad times :(

Another perfect book by our dear darling Mrs.Fletcher ♥ ♥ ♥ I'm going to be boring here,by saying again that books know me. they know when i need them. This book came the right time.
Sarah,the protagonist is stuck in her past because she has to endure hanging out with her ex and his girlfriend..(sucks,i know!) and dreaming about the perfect dream-guy helps her feel better about her life somehow. Her constant pretending that everything was fine and that she wasnt devastated by the break-up made me love her. She is such a strong character and her development as a person was amazing.
Her friends were all so cool and the kind of friends you want to have, and Brett. OMG. BRETT. He is so freaking PERFECT. I JUST CANT. I CANT EVEN.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!! ♥ Cant wait to read more of her work. i adored every single one of her books.
PS: Giovanna is pregnant again!! Congrats G!! I'm so happy for her and Tom!!! :D ♥ ♥ ♥

Slightly disappointed in this one.. The dream sequences just didn't match the more adult nature Giovanna was trying to attempt. The book got better after about 200 pages, but definitely not a great read.

Once the story got going it was quite enjoyable. However it took about 200 pages for me to get into the story. I love the dream and reality side to the story real Brett and dream Brett. One is real and one is not but things can be said that were said in the dreams. I love how Sarah is night dreaming about Brett while Brett daydreams about her.
I couldn't help finding Sarah annoying I didn't take to her as a main character. I only liked her a little more towards the end. I much preferred Carly.
None of the books I've read after Billy and Me are meeting the same level of enjoyment for me.

This is a very nice book, even though the dream sequences disrupted the flow of reading a little as their contents were too different from the actual story.
Also, Sarah and Dan 's relationship was a bit weird. Their clarifying talk towards the end brought a lot of distress for my poor little heart - in terms of awfulness :D
But otherwise, the story has a good course of action and an enjoyable style of writing. This fortunately weakened the few points I mentioned before.
I also liked that it wasn't all about a poor/ not-able-to-do-anything-on-her-own/ stupid/ skill - less main character. Instead, there is a huge share of Sarah taking actual care of her own life or helping her friends etc.

I got off to a rocky start with this and admittedly had low expectations going into it. However, I really warmed to the characters and Giovanna's chatty writing style. In particular, the main character Sarah had a refreshing believability, with a strong girl-next-door vibe.
The theme of absurd dreams weaving their way into real life is a concept that definitely intrigued me, as a person who has crazy dreams quite often. Gi clearly had a lot of fun creating some of the whacky dream scenarios, many of which had me cracking up.
Without giving away too much detail, I thought that Giovanna addressed some of the heavier issues in a way that, whilst it was pretty graphic, it also felt raw and real, adding depth to an otherwise light-hearted story.
I enjoyed Sarah's character development however, it was a little rushed towards the end. I'd have liked to have followed Confident Sarah on a couple more endeavours.
Overall Dream a Little Dream is a heart warming tale of opening up yourself to new possibilities - in love, life and beyond.

I really hate to be so critical about things, but I wasn't as impressed with Dream a Little Dream as I was with Gi's other books. For me, Billy and Me is still the best of her 3 books.
Don't get me wrong, the book wasn't terrible. It was ok, and an enjoyable read, but I wasn't too sure about the storyline. Sarah started to annoy me towards the end as she seemed so anti wanting to date "real-Brett" being happy living with "dream-Brett" in her head.
It isn't a bad book, but it felt like it took a while to get going and I started to get frustrated at Sarah's lack of interest in Brett especially when she loved him so much in her dreams.
But still, a good book. I loved all the descriptions and some of the characters are pretty likeable, and there are some pretty good twists in the plot that I didn't see coming at all.
Can't wait to pick up Gi's next book.

Right... I've had two goes at reading/finishing this novel. I mean, for goodness sake, this is no Ulysses, it should be easy and not very challenging, it's chick-lit.
But I don't know, I thought the main heroine was kind of irritating. Ah, and the fact that it had the first person narration didn't help either.
And there were so many dream sequences... way too many.
Dream a Little Dream wasn't terrible - it just didn't quite engage me, didn't quite make me care about the main characters and I find myself skipping lots of paragraphs.
So, I'll just put it down to - just not for me.

As much as I've enjoyed her previous stories, I found Billy and Me predictable, and You're The One That I Want slightly cliché. However, Dream a Little Dream is different. It was new, fresh and original, and I've really enjoyed it.
I found Sarah an absolutely delightful character to read about. I always returned to this book with pleasure but I wasn't yet reluctant to put it down.
That was until Real Brett showed up and soon enough I was completely engrossed in the story and eager to find out more. The constant banter between Sarah and Brett never failed to put a smile on my face and added real charm to the story. From that moment the story also picked up some gumption on the way. Sarah grows as a character.
This book kept you guessing. Whenever you thought you were sure of how the road would be from now on, there'd be a little surprise or small twist to keep it interesting. It is exactly that what made this book, in my opinion, her best worked out story yet.
A dream is a wish your heart makes, goes the song and this book shows us just that. Absolutely delightful!

To me the book was a bit of a dissapointment. And I'm not really sure if that's because I had to high expectations after reading all the great feedback via Twitter etc. or that it is because I was more into doing other things than reading at the moment. It was a nice story but not as nice as the other books by Giovanna. Actual stars 3,5

2.5 stars - overall, this book just kind of bored me. Probably because I was expecting a cute romance story and this wasn’t it. Around 50% of the book was about her relationship within her friendgroup and her ex, the other 40% was about her work problems and whatever little was left was about the actual couple (and even that little bit wasn’t anything cutesy or romantic). A bit disappointed.

I read Giovanna Fletcher's You're the One That I Want in January of this year and 140 or so books later, it is still one of my most memorable 2015 reads. I was incredibly excited for the release of Dream a Little Dream and saved it for my holiday as I knew I would want to read it with no distractions. It was such an enjoyable read, and easily one of my favourite books of the year so far.
Sarah is muddling along just fine despite being single for five years, being a disappointment to her mother and having to cope with her ex-boyfriend and his perfect new girlfriend being a part of her friendship group. Plus she doesn't feel like she is fulfilling her potential at her mind-numbingly tedious job. I remember when I used to watch the Friends episode The One Where They All Turn Thirty and laugh at some of the exaggerated responses to turning the dreaded age and then I watched the episode a few weeks ago as a 25-year-old and found it less funny than I did as a teenager. I did find myself relating to Sarah a little bit as she witnesses those around her achieving more whether in work or their personal lives.
Sarah soon starts dreaming about a face from her past, some of the dreams being a little, let's just say, highly charged. When she is overlooked for a promotion at work for somebody new the last person she expects to see walk into the office is Brett, the man from her dreams, albeit an older, less perfect version. Sarah soon has to contend with two Bretts: Dream Brett and Real Brett. I absolutely loved the idea for this book. I sometimes have quite vivid dreams and then all the next day I can't get that one person who was in the dream out of my head. But I think continually dreaming about the one person would drive me mad and to actually have to then see them on a daily basis even more so. Sarah's vivid dreams often feature celebrities in some highly amusing situations (something that another reviewer called 'namedropping', erm it's a dream within a fiction novel!) and there might even be a fleeting appearance from a certain Mr. Fletcher in one of the dreams. As the book progresses Sarah nearly loses a grip on what she's dreamed and what's actually happening in real life which does make for some potentially embarrassing moments. You can't help but laugh whilst at the same time feel a little sorry for Sarah.
One of the things I loved most about the story was how natural the whole thing felt, and how well the whole story flowed. Nothing that happened between Sarah and Real Brett felt forced, instead it starts as a new friendship which begins to flourish and develop quite realistically and there's so many moments between the pair that I just loved. Readers will definitely end up wanting their very own Brett. It was also so enjoyable to witness how Sarah changes for the better. Becoming stronger in herself, believing in herself and finally pushing herself to achieve her dreams. I am one of those people that will sit there and just expect things to miraculously get better without me doing anything about it and so I was a little jealous of Sarah at some points in the story, but incredibly happy for her at the same time. Say no more. Sarah is a character that readers can really believe in, and she is at times quite inspirational and she might finally give me that push to change my own life.
One of the underlying messages throughout Dream a Little Dream is the power of love and friendship. Sarah has such a close knit group of friends that it is really heartwarming to witness. Each character brings something to the story and really help Sarah find that resolution that she needs. Her friendship with Carly was a highlight, and then Giovanna knocks readers for six with where that story went, but it is written with real sensitivity that endeared me to the characters even more, and had me believing in their friendships as if I knew them personally. It says a lot about the kind of person Sarah is, and shows just how important friends are.
There are so many scenes and funny moments throughout the book I wish I could talk about but as always it is best to discover them yourself. As the book neared its conclusion I was left wondering just how things were ultimately going to end. You're the One That I Want had an ending I wasn't expecting, but one that I actually thought made more sense whereas Dream a Little Dream had an ending that was absolute perfection. In fact, the whole book was. Giovanna has a distinctive writing style, and she seems to be going from strength to strength with each book that she releases. Dream a Little Dream is a book I have no hesitation in recommending, and it's one that everybody should be buying this summer. It would also be brilliant as a film. Up next for me is Billy and Me and I can't wait to read it.

Sarah's vivid dreams often feature celebrities in some highly amusing situations (something that another reviewer called 'namedropping', erm it's a dream within a fiction novel!) and there might even be a fleeting appearance from a certain Mr. Fletcher in one of the dreams. As the book progresses Sarah nearly loses a grip on what she's dreamed and what's actually happening in real life which does make for some potentially embarrassing moments. You can't help but laugh whilst at the same time feel a little sorry for Sarah.
One of the things I loved most about the story was how natural the whole thing felt, and how well the whole story flowed. Nothing that happened between Sarah and Real Brett felt forced, instead it starts as a new friendship which begins to flourish and develop quite realistically and there's so many moments between the pair that I just loved. Readers will definitely end up wanting their very own Brett. It was also so enjoyable to witness how Sarah changes for the better. Becoming stronger in herself, believing in herself and finally pushing herself to achieve her dreams. I am one of those people that will sit there and just expect things to miraculously get better without me doing anything about it and so I was a little jealous of Sarah at some points in the story, but incredibly happy for her at the same time. Say no more. Sarah is a character that readers can really believe in, and she is at times quite inspirational and she might finally give me that push to change my own life.
One of the underlying messages throughout Dream a Little Dream is the power of love and friendship. Sarah has such a close knit group of friends that it is really heartwarming to witness. Each character brings something to the story and really help Sarah find that resolution that she needs. Her friendship with Carly was a highlight, and then Giovanna knocks readers for six with where that story went, but it is written with real sensitivity that endeared me to the characters even more, and had me believing in their friendships as if I knew them personally. It says a lot about the kind of person Sarah is, and shows just how important friends are.
There are so many scenes and funny moments throughout the book I wish I could talk about but as always it is best to discover them yourself. As the book neared its conclusion I was left wondering just how things were ultimately going to end. You're the One That I Want had an ending I wasn't expecting, but one that I actually thought made more sense whereas Dream a Little Dream had an ending that was absolute perfection. In fact, the whole book was. Giovanna has a distinctive writing style, and she seems to be going from strength to strength with each book that she releases. Dream a Little Dream is a book I have no hesitation in recommending, and it's one that everybody should be buying this summer. It would also be brilliant as a film. Up next for me is Billy and Me and I can't wait to read it.

I really enjoyed this book by Giovanna Fletcher. Sarah has a lovely large group of friends that meet up regularly and go to pub quizzes. She split up with one of the lads a couple of years ago- but he still has a hold over her happiness. She needs to learn to let go of the past and move on. But seeing him regularly still hurts!
She is having some really quirky dreams which feature another lad from their university days- just why has he come into her subconscious?
I really loved her friendships and the romance aspect to the book and her job aspirations were really thrilling aswell.
The story flowed along nicely with great characters and an interesting look into the world of planning reality tv programmes.
I can't wait to read more by Giovanna Fletcher.

I bought this book thinking it would be a nice, easy read and that's exactly what it was. 400 pages that took me an evening to get through, definitely an easy read.
I'll admit, i did almost put it down after the first 10 pages because i was getting the feeling that 'easy read' was also falling into the 'badly written' category but i'm glad i stuck with it. The characters developed well, the story line was incredibly relatable (crappy ex, guy you kind of like, work drama) and there were even a few funny moments.
The cheese did come thick and fast at a few points and the ending was totally predictable. but i'd be lying if i said i didn't enjoy it.
Definitely for those looking for something lighthearted to sink into during the winter months.

Despite continuously hearing great things about Giovanna Fletcher's writing, Dream a Little Dream is the first book I have read by this author. After finishing this fabulous read I was left berating myself as to why I had waited so long to pick up a book by this author, Giovanna's writing is fun, fresh and original and I loved every minute of this book. I came to Dream a Little Dream after a run of not so great books and will admit I wasn't expecting much from this read but I love being surprised and in this case in a really pleasant way too. I feel one or two of the stalwarts of chick lit /women's fiction have become a bit lacklustre with their latest releases and I have become bored with what they are writing but definitely Giovanna is here to cement her place as a super talent in this genre.
The story was just so refreshing to read, it didn’t follow the usual conventions of boy meets girl etc there was slightly more to it and the book had a superb cast of supporting characters who were used very well and their stories played a crucial part too. If you are not sold by the blurb of this book then the cover will definitely call out to you, it's bright and inviting and really sums up the storyline. When the main character Sarah meets the handsome man she has been dreaming about in real life she hopes her dreams may just come true. What a great idea for a book, I mean who wouldn't want the man we dream about to be real and not fictitious? I was interested to see would Sarah's dreamboat live up to expectations or was she in for a bumpy ride?
Sarah Thompson has been single for a number of years but that doesn't stop her longing for a man with whom she can form a long lasting relationship with. All her friends seem to be either settling down or doing their best to find the one - going on dates etc but Sarah still seems to be clinging to the fact that ex boyfriend Dan Tipper has moved on in a big way with new partner Lexie. Oh how I felt for Sarah as she has to regularly encounter Dan and Lexie at group gatherings like the weekly quiz in the pub. Every woman knows how difficult it must be to see the man you loved and whom you believed you were building a solid relationship with embark on a new relationship with a woman. OK so it might have been five years since the relationship ended but that doesn't stop you holding just that tiny smidgen of a flame deep inside, obviously not having a new man in your life doesn't help matters either. But Sarah showed her stoic character and put on a brave front at all times and for that she must be admired. Now she has come to the realisation she has wasted enough time and energy on Dan and she needs to move on her in both her personal and professional life. Maybe things just might be on the up for Sarah as she starts having vivid dreams featuring a certain sexy hunk of a man who was in her past. The man in question being Brett whom she hasn't seen since her university days. Interspersed amongst the chapters are these dream sequences and at first I thought they were going to be quite naff or even become a little explicit but that wasn't the case at all, in fact they added all the more fun to the storyline and even better when Brett makes an appearance in real life joining Sarah's office as a new member of the team.
Sarah is a character whom every woman will find at least one thing to identify with. From the very first chapters when she arrives at her workplace Red Brick Productions, where she works as an assistant to boss Johnathan, and immediately switches on her computer to check Twitter and the Daily Mail showbiz website I thought Sarah you are my kind of girl. From then on Giovanna's writing is so on point and crucially this book doesn't descend into a light-hearted fluffy run of the mill romance nor does it venture down the other avenue of becoming hard hitting, instead the balance between the two is struck just right and had me both laughing and showing concern for Sarah in equal measure. The celeb references throughout are bang up to date and just added that overall fun and relevance to the story.
The reader soon senses Sarah is at the turning point in her life. No longer is she prepared to take second best in terms of love or work. Yes she may not have gotten the promotion she wanted or deserved but that doesn't stop her grabbing every opportunity and her ingenious idea for a reality show - 'Grannies Go Gap' brings her that one step closer to gorgeous Brett. I never knew were the pair going to get it together which was great as I love the element of mystery and romantic suspense. We didn't hear much from Brett's point of view as this was more Sarah's story and the overall storyline wasn't dominated by the 'will they won't they question' instead I felt everything had a very natural feel and flow to it and I as the reader was just there for the ride and boy did I enjoy every minute of it.
As I have mentioned this book had the added bonus of a great supporting cast. Every female protagonist needs a best friend who will be there to support her in times of woe to offer wine and chocolate and a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen. The same can be said when the best friend is the one who needs the help and support. Here we have Carly whom Sarah shares a flat with - friends for years they are each other’s back bone and stalwart supporters in good times and bad. I would aspire to have their friendship that radiates strength from the pages. When Carly finds herself in a situation (one which she is happy about) you could see the delight Sarah had for her friend. Sadly the good times don't always last and the scenes that followed were extremely well written and dealt with in the utmost of respect and sensitivity and I applaud Giovanna for this because bearing in mind the overall tone and nature of the novel to have this featured and handled so well was remarkable. I felt every bit of those scenes and my heart was breaking but the girls friendship, love and respect for each other shone through. Having giving so much of her time to Dan I think sums quote really sums up Sarah and her attitude which develops over the course of the book' Sometimes in life you have to stop and say to yourself. You know what? Now's my time to be selfish'. I have to say I agree whole heartedly with Sarah sometimes we have to take stock and look after ourselves after looking out for others for so long. At times we just need that push to set ourselves upon the path to make our life as good and as fulfilled as it can be.
Is Sarah able to separate dream Brett from real life Brett? Can a dream man possibly live up to our aspirations in real life would never run that smoothly? Well if you want to discover what life has in store for Sarah and co I would highly recommend Dream a Little Dream and if you decide to give it a go you haven't long to wait until the Christmas novella 'Dream a Little Christmas Dream' is published on 8th October. I'm eager to find out just what happens next to this bunch of wonderful characters that had me engaged in their story right from the very first page. Having taken so long to read a book by Giovanna Fletcher I'm glad to say she is now certainly one of my favourite authors and I will be making sure I read her two previous books as soon as possible.

Overall this was an easy and enjoyable read; it was definitely a little cheesy but it was an enjoyable level of cheesy rather than painful.
I have to say though that the main character Sarah was one of my least favourite characters... she felt like such a pushover and honestly a little bit annoying at times. I did feel sorry for her with how Dan had treated her and then being stuck with him, but I wish she'd stood up for herself a little bit more. Dan is a bit of a knob, I think that is a fairly general opinion.
The thing I loved the most about this book was the friendship group - they felt so real and I really enjoyed all their relationships with one another and the dynamics of them. Especially when they were at their pub quiz! It was just such a fun group and I would love to read more from the perspectives of some of the other characters, mostly the females as they felt like the strongest characters for me.

He decidido darle dos estrellas porque en mi opinión no ha sido una de las mejores novelas que he leído de Giovanna. Esta historia me ha parecido algo aburrida y que podría haberse escrito en 200 páginas en vez de 400. La narración me ha parecido lenta y el romance algo "soso" para el tipo de romance que me gusta a mí. Me da pena darle dos estrellas porque la verdad que me encanta la autora. Sin embargo, no me ha emocionado y me ha costado terminarlo.

I don't normally write reviews but I felt compelled to write how I felt this one went for me.
If I sum the book up in one word, all I can think is: Disappointing.
It was very slow to get going. I felt I could have started the book half way through and It would have been more appealing.
Now I'm no prude but I felt there was too much sex. Also I am no saint on the swearing front either but I felt there to be too much unnecessary swearing.
I found myself really sighing and tutting at all the endless name dropping. Especially one name in particular which really took me out of the story. It's supposed to be fiction, to take me on a journey outside of the real world, but any time a celebrity name got dropped I really got taken out of the zone and disinterested in Sarah's life. I also felt there to be a big similarity between Alastair and Dougie (McFly)?
Towards the end, the book gets better, picks up pace. Although Giovanna touched on a subject that probably shouldn't have been glossed over as much as it was. I guess that story line wasn't the main one, tricky to balance without being insensitive. To me it seemed as though Carly and Josh recovered after a couple of weeks. Which in the real world wouldn't be true.
On a brighter note.
I did enjoy the dynamics between the friendship group the way they bounce off each other and how Sarah felt towards Dan for the most part. I am glad they put aside their differences. (Although I don't think many ex's can pull that off!)
I know Gi is her own person away from Tom & Mcfly and the book is intentioned to be adult, but for Young Mcfly fans who will be wanting to support Gi by buying and reading this book topics such as Miscarriage is a hard and horrible topic, for any adult let alone a young mind to comprehend. Along with somewhat graphic accounts of sex and bad language, which are not suitable for younger readers, but I guess that comes down to their muturity.
So overall 3 stars sadly. This is just my point of view and what I took away from the book, I know many people will have loved it. I do enjoy Gi's writing style. I really enjoyed "billy and me" and "you're the one that I want". They were easy to read, feel good books where you really root for the main characters. I hope the next one will be more alike those again.

I loved both of Giovanna’s previous novels, so I was really excited to start this one!
Dream a Little Dream follows Sarah. Sarah is a really relatable and lovable character. She has been single for a while and struggles with seeing the people around her having a wonderful personal life and a great job as well. Her ex-boyfriend left her for the girl he is engaged to now and the weirdest thing about the situation: He is still in her group of friends and they see each other quite often, with Lexie being there as well. Sarah has a wonderful group of friends. Her flatmate Carly is awesome and her other friends are just awesome! It was so much following them around, especially for the pub quiz nights. Some of her friends also have their own story to tell, which was fab and got really emotional at one point.
Sarah works as a PA, her boss is a nightmare. She hopes for a promotion, but that isn’t easy. On top of that she starts dreaming about a guy, they are a couple in these dreams and then suddenly BAM!, he stands in front of her in real life. Dream Brett seems to be perfect, but Real Brett is different, his features are different and also some of his behaviour. Of course Sarah starts comparing them, which results in some hilarious, funny and entertaining scenes.
Brett is a great guy, I really liked him and they had an electric chemistry from the start.
Each chapter starts with a very detailed dream of Sarah and Brett. It was a wonderful way to get into the chapter and the story. There were some cute scenes, really memorable dreams and also sexy and a bit steamy ;)
Giovanna did it again! She created a wonderful story with awesome characters, full of love and friendship and brilliant and flowing storyline, just amazing! Her writing is fantastic and really gripping. Billy and Me stays me fave of her, but this one is fab as well. Giovanna has a magnificent voice and style!

I'd been looking forward to reading Dream A Little Dream since it's publication was announced. The cover is absolutely gorgeous and I love the title. And oh boy, what a book!
Yet again Giovanna Fletcher created a wonderful, lovely main character. Sarah is easy to love and you can't help but feel heartbroken, reading the emotional torture she's been through. She's such a strong woman, the way she sacrifices her feelings for the sake of the group... I was a bit jealous of the amazing friends she has and how they've managed to stay close for so many years. But then again, I do feel like they should have seen through her "I'm fine" mantra. She didn't deserve the ultimatum: friends vs. showing-true-feelings-about-ex.
That being said: everyone should have a flat-mate like she does! Her friends might have failed seeing through her well put up facade, she IS surrounded by an amazing, colourful group of genuine people.
Enter dream-boy. I really enjoyed Sarah's struggle to keep the dream version of Brett separated from the real one. Their banter, flirting and exciting work-dynamic had me smiling from ear to ear. I could go on about his charm and the sweet, lovely romance that's unfolding, but you just have to read, swoon and fall in love with them yourself.
Throughout the entire book there's this funny, witty, undertone. Having watched Giovanna's vlogs as well as having read her previous novels, I felt her voice and humor coming through. You just know you're reading a Giovanna Fletcher novel - which, I feel, is pretty impressive after only 3 novels! So it's obvious that I'm already looking forward to the next one!
I'd been looking forward to reading Dream A Little Dream since it's publication was announced. The cover is absolutely gorgeous and I love the title. And oh boy, what a book!
Yet again Giovanna Fletcher created a wonderful, lovely main character. Sarah is easy to love and you can't help but feel heartbroken, reading the emotional torture she's been through. She's such a strong woman, the way she sacrifices her feelings for the sake of the group... I was a bit jealous of the amazing friends she has and how they've managed to stay close for so many years. But then again, I do feel like they should have seen through her "I'm fine" mantra. She didn't deserve the ultimatum: friends vs. showing-true-feelings-about-ex.
That being said: everyone should have a flat-mate like she does! Her friends might have failed seeing through her well put up facade, she IS surrounded by an amazing, colourful group of genuine people.

'Dream a little Dream' is about Sarah, who works as a PA for one of the bosses of a television production company in London. She's been single for two years, because her boyfriend Dan left her for the love of his life he only met shortly before. Sarah still has to spend a huge amount of time with Dan, because they have been friends with the same group of people for forever, so it was a bit difficult to put some distance between her and Dan. Some day (or rather some night) her mind starts bringing Brett, a guy form Sarah's past into her dreams. She didn't even know him that well back then, but as he keeps appearing in dreams she starts to fall for this dream version of him. So the shock is massive when Brett also enters Sarah's real life again..
I liked the story really much. I don't even know what else to say other than it was really, really nice. It was cute and sad and a bit destiny-ish or something. There are no bad things to say about the book, really. Except maybe that I couldn't really understand why Sarah was OK with Dan and his new girlfriend being so close to her all the time. Especially if it's the exact girl he just left her for. I would torture and kill both of them if I were her. She didn't say a word about her being uncomfortable or anything. Not understandable at all, but that's just me. Otherwise it was really good. Also, Brett was gorgeous. ♥

As soon as I arrived at the big Waterstones in Piccadilly, London, my eye fell on Dream A Little Dream. Ever since it came out I wanted to purchase it, but it never happened until I saw it in Waterstones during my vacation. I absolutely love Gi's books and I own them all and they sit proudly in my bookcase.
This book was slightly different to the first two that she wrote in terms of language the characters use. There's quite some swearing in DalD, more than Billy & me and You're the one that i want. Not that I complain, it shows that Gi is experimenting and isn't keeping everything decent and is exploring her boundaries. Speaking of boundaries, I never expected to find two sex dreams in a book written by Giovanna Fletcher, that was one of the things that really suprised me. And again, kudos to you, mrs Fletcher, well done!
Overall the book was well written, sometimes a bit predictable, but I don't mind a bit sappy romantic stuff. I was really upset when Josh and Caroline (?) lost the baby, that's not something that gets mentioned in books and Gi did a really good job on that.
Once again 5 stars, her books keep getting better and better. Can't wait until the next one comes out!

This is the 2nd book I have read by Giovanna Fletcher (and I have only just learnt she is married to Tom Fletcher of McFly fame!)
I did enjoy the main character of Sarah – you cannot help but to like her and sympathise with her about her useless boss and cantankerous mother. She has had a bit of a rough time after being dumped by Dan, not getting the promotion she so wanted and being denied the chance to go to Australia. But she bounces back – with the help of the mysterious Brett.
Loved the quirky off the wall dreams Sarah has at the start of many of the chapters – can real life and fantasy collide? Loved her group of friends too – wish I had something similar.
I think I preferred Giovannas earlier title You’re The One That I Want (I so hope there is a sequel) and I am looking forward to reading Billy and Me as I have heard many good things about it.

This was lovely :)
Truth is, I was expecting a very romantic story, but it ended up being about so much more than that. It was great to read about Sarah's journey, not just through her romantic life, but also with her (pretty phenomenal) friends, family and her job. Everything was developed so well and it felt very...organic (I think that's the word haha). I was rooting for her all the time, and I'm very pleased with the ending.
I'm also very happy to see Giovanna's improvement in her writing. I liked her first novel, but I did have a few issues with the execution. This book was almost perfect and I couldn't stop reading!

This is a great piece of escapism as Sarah gets over being dumped by Dan when he meets the love of his life. She starts having peculiar dreams every night featuring Brett, then along comes the real one who is gorgeous. It's a bit overly long for what actually happens which starts to verge on being tedious - a bit like going on a journey with plenty of detours and it takes far too long to reach the destination. The style of writing was great, as was the humour and I'd definitely read other books by this author. Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC.

WAYYY to long and slow to start - 300 pages in and fuck all has happened? Like character development yes, plot- no. Should have been way shorter!
However; I did love the characters a lot and the ending was really cute.
So much sexual frustration in this book though... Like for a book where there are lots of sex dreams, why was the ending so cute like we got 2 kisses in the whole book like where was the hot date etc?
Overall, its cute and the characters are amazing but way to long and slow and um... sex please and thanks.
