Tyriq Hill is a baller. He was born with a basketball ball in hand and despite not having the support he wants, he’s a beast with it. Street legend, All-American, and NBA bound. Everything is on track and he’s ready to live the life he’s worked so hard for.
Teaira Wilks is that girl. She’s independent, fierce, and knows exactly who she is and want she wants. She has a great career, she owns her own townhome, and she’s enjoying life until she finds a love like her parents.
A block party, the right amount of liquid courage, and the desire to have fun with somebody’s son leads Teaira to the tall, sexy, younger Tyriq. The night ends with them together and there’s a connection that neither expected or can deny.
One night, no strings, no commitments is how it all began…but sometimes, fate detects how it will end. With Tyriq and Teaira, one night may lead to forever, even when it’s unexpected.

Tyriq is the golden boy of the Crescent Falls Lions basketball team and when they win the NCAA Championship, it’s pretty much guaranteed he’ll be the first round pick in the NBA Draft. Teaira is that girl. She’s an ER nurse who works hard and plays harder and her new toy of choice is Tyriq Hill. What started out as a one night stand quickly morphed into a FWB situation but, Tyriq is secretly falling for Teaira and he wants more. He just has to convince her to give them a chance. Y’all know what we love on this side of Goodreads? An angst free love story and Tyriq and Teaira gave us all the drama free feels. I absolutely loved these two together. Tyriq may have only been 23 but, he had the maturity of a 33 year old. But, considering his home life, he had to grow up a lot sooner than he should have. While most people may think his daddy was the villain in their household, they would be wrong. His mama was the true villain. I didn’t like that broad. I side eyed that heffa throughout this entire book and I’ll never understand why he wouldn’t just cut her off. She was so undeserving of his loyalty. But, shout out to Teaira for respectfully gathering Latisha's azz together because, she needed it. I enjoyed this quick visit back to D-Ville and I hope we get to pull up again in the near future.
I absolutely loved this story. The sports side was good, the romantic parts were excellent and the relationship between Tyriq and Teaira was sweet. I'm glad Tyriq was able to mend the fences with his mom. His dad exited the story with limited fanfare, which was kind of oddly cool. Overall, the story was enjoyable. 4.75 stars.
This book was so pure. Tyriq and Teaira was a vibe. They didn't do to much. You could see the love from the beginning. I love a baby throwed in the mix. I don't care IDC!!!!! This book was love.
Wow I just loved this story. There were some parts that made me mad….his momma. Ugh…Tyriq was so sweet like you’d never know he grew up the way he did with the type of parents he had. He still turned out to be that dude. Teaira I think she is one of my favorite female characters the way she said what she said to his mom and stood on business. They definitely deserved their happily ever after. This story was so real I almost forgot they were fictional characters because they were so relatable. This is a definite must read. And the way Charity Shane and KC Mills stories line up together even though the stories are completely separate you’d think they were in the same room when the stories are written. I love reading their books that feed odd of each others story worlds. Please keep them coming
I knew their situationship was going to turn into something more. Riq is a sweet guy, who wanted better for his wife and child. I don't know what the deal is with his dad, and maybe one we will find out, but for now I'm happy Tariq made it. He stayed true to himself, his beliefs, and skills.
From the cradle to the casket...love all things D-ville
I loved tyriq and teaira!!! If you are looking for a love story where the drama is external to the couple and the pair doesn’t play about them, this is it! Great read.
I absolutely loved this story!! I was waiting for the drama and I love drama……….but there was none!! This was such a feel good love story!! Got me over here in my feelz!! 🥰🥰🥰
Listen I was intrigued with Tyriq cocky ass from his introduction in DVille series and Charity did not disappoint.
This story was exactly what I needed balanced with a boss FMC and Cocky yet mature as hell MMC. They balanced each other so well. I loved that she focused on their relationship and his career and non of the unhinged behavior. He didn’t play about Teaira at all but his way of showing that was so mature that it made me love his character so much more. I need more of them in the near future, bc the way I want him to shine in that daddy face and also really check his mama, yea I need a part 2 lol.
Speaking of the mama in my opinion she was awful, who allows a man to hurt, disrespect and mentally abuse their child all while screaming you love your son, but you standing ten toes down for this man!? Girl No, I loved the way Teaira gathered her ass real quick and let it be known she would remove her presence as well before they could hurt Tyriq again.
The baby shower was missed opportunity I think having that in the book would have brought this whole thing together more and even set us up for a potential spin off for the mama. Lmao (this is me being greedy now, but I’m shooting my shot,so hear me out)The baby shower was talked about so much and the grannies were so excited to plan it, and having that would have opened the door for Latisha to see ms Diane being loved on out loud by Teaira daddy, then possibly a family friend that attends sweeps Mama Tisha off her feet then she has a book finally understanding her worth, leaving that bum ass husband and letting a new man love her out loud! Lmao.. ok I’m done!
Overall get into this one it was super cute and to the point, and the relationship between the two main characters was refreshing, drama free, and full of soft love!
When you were already stalking and rereading their catalog only to see they had a new release you had no clue about😳🥹🤭
—— Plot/storyline: I love me an older FMC/younger MMC. He’s a baller and she’s a nurse, whew👏🏽 Chemistry: introduced in Kassir and Rebel but baby, their story here- off the charts😍 spice: he turned her every which way and I loved every minute of it🥵 Drama: mild specifically related to family drama😈
—— We are back in the D-VILLE Projects stratosphere and a good time was indeed had!
— Now, let’s code switch the review tone: Putting on my glasses for a more professional approach 🤓🤓🤓 ⬇️ ——
“pen game 🔏✅” moment:
I love the way this author writes her MMC’s.
All different but all consistently amazing representation of love and emotional intelligence in men.
Another thing I loved about this story specifically- the use of older FMC/younger MMC trope.
Don’t get me wrong, I love when it is exaggerated and the focal point of the story. However, it was refreshing to see how subtle this trope was used.
For me, it allowed me the opportunity to appreciate their love story as a whole!
_____
Definetly recommend reading Kassir and Rebel (D-Ville Projects Book 2).
However, you can enjoy this story with full understanding without (IMO)
This book was a ride from start to finish! Charity Shane’ delivered another addictive, drama-filled story that keeps you turning the pages. The chemistry between Tyriq and Teaira was intense, the tension stayed high, and the plot never slowed down. I love how the author mixes romance, loyalty, and street elements without losing the heart of the story.
Teaira was strong and relatable, and Tyriq’s character had layers that made him easy to root for. Their connection felt real, and the twists kept me excited to see what would happen next.
Overall, this was a fast-paced, emotional, and gripping read. I definitely recommend it if you love urban romance with strong storytelling. Charity Shane’ always delivers!
Foremost, why am I still crying, sniffing & giddy over Tyriq and the NBA draft selection 😁🎉🏀🍾🎉🤷🏾♀️🤭⁉️I’m so excited (& proud) for him, Teaira & their family (except the bitter donor 🙄)‼️…Teaira & Tyriq both are dreamers: “When you wish upon a star; Makes no difference who you are; Anything your heart desires; Will come to you …” and all their dreams came true in less than two years‼️Oh my goodness, I didn’t want this book to end 🤭🥹‼️”Tyriq & Teaira: Ballerz for Lyfe” was a phenomenal love story & an excellent read🤩😍‼️Ms. Shanè you balled the heck out on this book.. 🔥🥃💐(you’ve earned all the accolades) ….(review to be continued & or edited🤭‼️)
Loved Riq and Teaira story...they started off casual but had such h a connection. The baby reveal was just what Teaira needed to go all in with Riq and they were perfect together. Literally hated Riq mom relationship with his bitch ass daddy, just gave me the ice and I just don't understand why, like she settled for a lame, reminds me of a specific type of woman but...I guess whatever floats a person's boat. Just ain't for me🤷🏾♀️.
Such a beautiful story…. I already want a follow up. Love the way he loved her and wasn’t afraid to show it and how he stood firm on his feelings about his dad. Again…. I would love a follow up on them
Sports romance. Loved Tyriq & Teaira. It does state their introduction starts in another book but they’re official relationship starts here. I enjoyed them. Minimal drama. No cheating. Tyriq was intentional and standing on business. I would recommend.
This story was so good. Tyriq and Teara belonged together. They were both in denial claiming to be just friends but they finally made it official and became a couple. She had his back and he really needed a woman like her. I was disappointed in his mother's behavior though. She should have been better at protecting Tyriq from the verbal abuse from his father. Tearsadid her part but But Tyriq will always feel unloved by his father. I like that they got their happy ending.
Tyriq did not play about Tee! He was so mature for his age and he went after what he wanted both on and off the court! I loved this story. It was so beautiful!!
I think what I enjoyed the most about this book was the absence of a ton of drama. Sometimes I just need a feel-good book to reset myself. I enjoyed the storyline!
I really enjoyed this story my own gripe was the lack of resolution with the daddy. He definitely needed to get knocked on his ass but otherwise low drama heavy love ❤️
Loved these two so much. I love when a sneaky link turns into forever. I didn’t know how his mom was going to play out, but I’m glad she was able to do both.
This jumpoff to lovers was so freaking good. I love a good romance. I feel like we can get so much more from these two. I hope Charity Shanè continues the story of these two. Tyriq was solid throughout the book. Idk his mama was different, and I didn't understand the same things that he didn't understand about her. I feel like their conversation could have been different if she was honest about her relationship with his father. I think she was scared of the unknown and disappointing both parties. But she had to see what her son was feeling. To me, your children come first, especially if your partner is trash. But back to Tyriq and Teaira, I loved those two. The whole storyline, the build up to where they are going, and now I want to know about the wedding, parenthood, and his career. How are they navigating life with the addition? Did his mother finally divorce his father?
Oh My Gosh…..Tyriq and Teaira’s love journey was so sweet and heartwarming. Tyriq was going after his dreams of being drafted into the NBA and Teaira was living hers in the nursing field. They hooked up at the DP block party and that was supposed to be a one n done situation but they kept on hooking up. I knew Tyriq had feelings for Teaira even before he told her because of the way he loved kissing, sucking, and licking on her peach. I loved that for them especially their unexpected pregnancy. I wanted to know did Teaira get the position that she wanted as an oncology nurse and the little princess’s name. I really did enjoy reading!
Wow! I was not expecting Teaira and Tyriq’s story but I’m so glad we’re here on their journey to love. This was just simply beautiful! I love that Tyrique was so mature and how he knew how to treat a woman. He was just so gentle and attentive with Teaira and I loved that for her. Teaira was ten toes down behind her man whew I loved them together. Loved how they realized that their situation had changed and they didn’t fight it just let it flow and it was beautiful to see.
Great love story I do believe there is a little more story to tell. I would love to learn about Tyriq father I think there’s something hidden there. There’s no way a father could hate his child that much. I would love to get to the bottom of it I think his mom is hiding something, but I very happy that they got their happily ever after . Tyriq and Teaira made a beautiful baby girl and now I want to be a party of the wedding 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

This was an awesome read. I loved Tyriq and Teaira together. He was so mature to be 5 years younger than Teaira. What started as just hooking up turned to love. It was so great how they supported one another through everything. So many lessons was brought about in this book. This is a must read.
Beautifully written! I just loved Riq & Teaira’s story from the beginning when it was just a hookup in Kassir & Rebel’s book before the block party. I enjoyed how they loved each other so good and held each other down.
At this point I’ll take a Christmas book with the family…ijs 🤭
I enjoyed Tyriq and Teaira so much. I love how Tyriq didn’t panic when everything was revealed. He knew he wanted Teaira but went along with the sneaky link vibe. I enjoyed being back in the D-Ville/Diamond Falls universe and I hope to see more characters connected to DP.
Did I finish this in one day? Yes! Did it make my heart happy? Absolutely! Riq did not play about Ria even though he didn’t want to admit it. There love was beautiful, I loved how they were exactly what each other needed. OAN Riq’s dad is garbage 🗑️
