The 1962 India-China War: What They Don'T Want You To Know

Rate this book
Generations of Indians have grown up internalizing a standard narrative on the 1962 border war between India and China. According to this account, India lost significant territory—historically considered its own—due to political ineptitude, interference, and nepotism.

At the heart of this version lies the assertion that the debacle was caused by the egregious missteps of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Defence Minister Krishna Menon.

We aim to examine these assertions by setting aside personal opinions or predispositions and instead relying on documented facts and verifiable events—eschewing hearsay, innuendo, and unsupported anecdotes.

Sandeep Mukherjee’s book on 1962 war covers a number of aspects hither to fore unaddressed. The book covers tactical aspects and decision making in great amount of details, specifically that of Namka Chu battle. Good read

A decent literary work .. criticises both political and mil hierarchy equally with certain facts and incidents… resulting in the debacle of our armed forces and the nation during 1962 Sino Indian War. Restricts primarily to the ops in Tawang Sector … Brings out a lot of new facts from a different perspective…
