Opposites attract. Enemies ignite...

There's nothing personal stylist Tabitha Drake loves more than pissing off Andrew Bode. He's uptight, he refuses to agree with her on anything, and she loathes the hideous brown suits and red power ties he wears. The man even hates ice cream. How can her best friend work for a man who hates ice cream? But the absolute worst thing about Drew? He's sexy as hell, and she's totally and ridiculously attracted to him.

Andrew Bode, CEO of the Bode-Wynn military contracting firm, is convinced he and Tab will never get along. Unfortunately, the infuriating—and sinfully tempting—stylist is his ticket to a major account. The only way to get what he wants is to agree to Tab's terms: a style makeover. However, Drew has a few terms of his own, most of which involve her naked in his bed. But neither of them are prepared when their lust-fueled hostility turns into something altogether unexpected...

Opposites attract. Enemies ignite...

I had high hopes for this since I really enjoyed Take Me if You Dare. Tabitha stood out right away as a heroine I thought I'd love. She was sassy, balls to the wall type of personality, and with a sense of humor to boot. Then enter the enemies to lovers trope and I'm putty in your hands. It's a guaranteed winner, right? Not in the case of this book, unfortunately.

Andrew Bode is a stuffed shirt if there ever was one. I'm pretty sure the man has OCD, and his OCD had OCD. He's all about order when it comes to everything; his work, his life, and even his closet. The man had an order for his kitchen cabinets FFS. He wasn't always like this. A crippling accident that almost cost him his legs and his career has left him with not only nightmares but issues to boot. His finance at the time and her calculating father certainly didn't help matters. So it's no wonder that the man strains to keep such a tight rein on everything. It could have been endearing, but sadly I just found it incredibly repetitive and irritating.

Tabitha Drake could't be more opposite from Andrew. While she's a successful stylist, she's also a free spirit. A free spirit with enough sass and opinions to make Drew grind his teeth. Andrew is too rigid for her, so of course when the man makes it clear how much of an irritant she is to him that makes her even more frustrated about her attraction to him.

This is also where the book lost me. I never formed a connection to Tab and Drew. I felt like they had zero chemistry together. They go from sniping at each other to sex in the span of an "I hate you."

While I enjoy Nina's writing, I found the characters lacking in this one. I thought that their individual issues completely overshadowed the romance and everything else. Drew is too focused on his resentment of what happened to him and his ex, and Tabitha is too busy trying to make up for the way her brother's death happened and "fixing" Drew. It's like she completely lost focus of who he IS and was too busy trying to fix him into who he CAN be.

I found the chemistry and the sex to be lackluster at best and the plot to be somewhat predictable and boring. Sadly this was just not the book for me.

But hey, every great author has a dud every now and then. I'd still gladly read any future book Miss Crespo releases. As a matter of fact I'm highly looking forward to Mitch after the set up here. I really hope his book will be soon.

While I didn't love this one, that's not to say others won't enjoy it. Different strokes and all that. So give it a shot and see for yourself.

2 - "You've always been a bit of a nosey busy-body." Stars.

I really enjoyed the first novella Take Me if you Dare in Nina Crespo's Birthday Dare series, so I had great hopes for the second novella Naughty Little Wishes being just as good.

Tease... Take... Bite...

Sadly, it wasn't the case on this occasion. Nina's writing style is just as engaging, but that in itself made it even more of a disappointing read when the characters you are engaging with are so uninspiring and outright annoying. Tab and Drew were both people dealing with a lot of personal demons. The actual building of a relationship as well as their sexy times fell flat in the main

"Stop trying to fix him. He's not broken."

Tab went about her task with Military precision and determination, reading it was like driving along an uninterrupted stretch of road, knowing that you are going to be involved in a massive car crash at some point, whilst ignoring everyone's advice to get off the road, because you know best, and are certain that you can drive through the wreckage without any issues.

I wanted to love this novella, but unfortunately it left me underwhelmed, a bit bored and massively disappointed.

If you're looking for a short read with some sexy action and a couple that aren't each other's biggest fans, then Naughty Little Wishes is that. Having loved the first novella in the series, I was looking forward to seeing what Tabitha's and Drew's story brought.

description
Unfortunately as a couple, they didn't work out for me as I was hoping; I never felt invested in them and, despite the fight between them, they lacked the spark I was anticipating. Tab infuriated me and Drew just didn't flick my switches. But I finally did warm to them and start to understand them, only it ended and I was left wanting that bit more; I felt certain elements to the storyline were neglected a tad with everything wrapped up a little too easily and quickly.

That said, I do like Nina Crespo's writing style and she knows how to inject steam into her storylines. It all boils down to the couple on this occasion, but just because I didn't connect, doesn't mean you won't. I've heard that books for Mitch and Devin are on the cards and I look forward to seeing what they bring.

2.5 stars.

This steamy story tells of the romance between Tabitha and Drew. A bad accident 5 years earlier has affected Drew deeply and makes him rigid and controlled in his approach to life. Tabitha is the opposite of everything he is - fun loving, exuberant, daring Drew to let loose and be the man he used to be. When a business arrangement between them leads to some bedroom fun and games, Drew tries to keep the upper hand but as Tabitha invades his home, she also invades his heart. But when Tabitha goes one step too far in her efforts to help Drew overcome his past, will Drew let her in all the way or shut her out completely?

I really loved this book! I enjoyed Drew's character very much - handsome, athletic (I admit, as a runner I love characters that race as well so that was definitely part of his appeal for me), trying so hard to maintain control in all aspects of his life and falling for Tabitha and her quirkiness at the same time. Tabitha too was an engaging character, full of life, an extrovert in her dealings with everyone including Drew. In her lust for life she makes mistakes, and sometimes these mistakes cost her, but she knows when to admit she is wrong too. I loved the two of them together, the snappy comebacks, the sizzling chemistry that leads them into each other's arms. Opposites definitely attract and this is well established here. The love scenes were steamy and well written, drawing them to each other despite their misgivings on how a future between them would possibly work. I liked the secondary characters in this story too, friends and co-workers of the couple who added great dialogue and friendships to round out the story. Overall I found this to be a fun, entertaining read with characters that interested me, a plot that engaged me, and a love story that was sweet, sexy and satisfying. 5 stars!

Sexy, intense read.

Dynamic characters, that engage your heart, and make you laugh, cry, and lust. Short, fast read that kept me turning the pages. The chemistry between Drew and Tabatha is wicked hot.

Tabitha and Drew have a very entertaining story. I love that Tabitha was friends with Jasmine, that she had previously met Drew and they had mixed about as well as oil and vinegar. But even more, and as always, I enjoyed that Nina Crespo gave both of these characters backgrounds that made it easy to understand their actions and reactions.

Overall, this was a fun addition to the series!

ZOMGTHISWASSOGOTDAMNAWESOME!!!

Nina Crespo is a new author to me but I have fallen in insta-LOVE with her voice and damn if I have not added Birthday Dare #1 to the top of my reading list and praying that it does not disappoint. I literally could not read this fast enough! Chapter one sets up a cute, fluffy little story line and I settled in ready to have some opposites attract romancy brain candy to pass the afternoon. FALSE. I was fully engaged! By chapter four I was clutching my pearls, by chapter 10 I was white knuckling my e-reader, by chapter 16 I was on my second strand of pearls and by chapter 20 I had already been on the line fifteen minutes with my local pharmacy arguing the burning necessity of an immediately filled Xanax prescription. Naughty Little Wishes is definitely a novella that packed a punch!

Tabitha “Tab” Drake is a personal stylist who is my fav heroine thus far of 2015! (Gah! it’s early, I know, but I l-o-v-e Tab). Unapologetic for her free spirit and fly by the seat of her panties personality she is in direct opposition and a stark contrast to uptight, controlling and supremely regimented Drew Bode. They cross paths and she sets.his.blood.to.boiling. Good thing Drew has his military security detail business to hide behind when thoughts of Tab burn too close to the surface. That is until she volunteers to accompany him to a business function where the lines are blurred between business and pleasure when in a pinch, she agrees to help him secure a business deal while securing a little fun of her own. They are most often not even in the same book, let alone on the same page and communication is their Achilles heel. Tab pushes, Drew pulls and somewhere in their tug of war they fall in love. *le sigh*

Beyond being a fantastic little gem of a contemporary romance novella, this book was damned funny! I whooped it up more than a few times. The writing is freaking ballsy and engaging. And sorry, not sorry- if you do not have the good girlfriends kinship with your BFF that Tab and her best friend Jasmine share then you are missing out on LIFE.

“Sorry, Tab. So, have I gotten through to you at all about this?”

“I vote for inhaling more sexy dust and twerkin’ and swervin’ my ass down the road of forgiveness.”

“No you didn’t just use swerve and twerk in the same sentence.” Jasmine’s laughter fueled hers.

Jasmine was not only a sounding board and supportive bestie, she called Tab out on her folly even as she supported her without judgement. Seeing Tab and Drew through supporting characters eyes allowed me to get a deeper understanding of who they were and what made them tick. Understanding the whys of Drew’s emotional hang ups was so much more rewarding than just the surface “he was hurt in the past so he’s a major dick now,” explanations that usually plague these contemporary romances. Seeing beyond Tab’s compulsive need to “fix” those she loves made you sympathize and lover her all the more.

This wouldn’t be home-run, sexy romance troupe without the heat and Tab and Drew have a chemistry that is off the charts!

“His cock swelled. Irritation simmered. He had a company to run. Races to win. He didn’t have time to screw around with Tabitha Drake.”

Meh! No worries, he gets his head free of his ass and the real fun begins…

“He stroked her again, this time with a little more pressure breaching her slickened inner flesh and flicking the pad of his thumb over her clit.

“Feel Good?” he asked huskily.

A hard shudder moved through Tab and she curled her toes into the mattress, her sighs hovering in her throat.

“Yes,” she whispered.

He reached beside him, and her mouth dried out in hearing the purr of the vibrator…”

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Sexy times are aplenty in the appropriately titled, Naughty Little Wishes. Sensual tension and sexual explosiveness drive the story, however, Crespo captures a sweet balance while also telling a tale of responsibility, redemption and unconditional love.

Hey, pro-tip: The mark of a thoroughly enjoyed book – you keep trying to advance to the next page beyond the cruelest words known to readers far and wide. “The End.”

I hope you enjoy Naughty Little Wishes as much as I did!

"Naughty Little Wishes" is book two in the "Birthday Dare Novella" by Nina Crespo. It is about Tabitha, a personal stylist, who is filling in for her friend to assist Andrew. Andrew is hard to work for because he is haunted by a past relationship. He was in a bad accident and feels he is responsible for his ex being hurt. Tabitha is trying to assist him and finds out she is starting to have feelings for him, but knows that he won't move on from the hurt he has caused his ex. It is a super hot and steamy read and leaves you wanting to keep reading to see what happens next.

Although this a sequel, it can be read as a stand alone. Tabitha is a fun character. She seems to be exactly what Drew needs. This is an opposites attract book, but they make it work. I enjoyed the story. Both Tabitha and Drew make an appearance in the first book. It was nice to read their story.

The first time Tab and Drew meet they rub each other the wrong way. When Drew needs to reland a business contract and part of the deal is getting Tab a very famous personal stylist for the the daughter of the person he wants to get to renew his contract he makes a deal with Tab. Her price is to restyle him. When she can't get a hotel in the area the only option is for her to stay at Drew's place. Will their passion ignite into something more or will they crash and burn?

Tab and Drew have one of those love-hate attraction's going on in the beginning but watching them get to know each other was my favorite part of the book. Tab and Drew have great smoking hot chemistry that just sizzles off the pages. I loved how different Tab and Drew were. They disagreed on almost everything. I think that's why they were attracted to each other. They saw things in the personality of the other they didn't have. Tab is just what Drew needs in his life someone to challenge him and teach him how to relax. Drew may be rough on the outside but underneath everything he really is a wonderful guy. Drew has spent so many years blaming himself and not letting himself have a life as punishment for something he thinks is his fault. Tab also carries a lot of blame around about her brother and wants to help Drew let go and stop blaming himself. When Drew took care of Tab while she was sick was when I fell in love with him and started seeing them really fall for each other. I loved how Tab seemed to just get Drew and loved the shower scene were she comforted him. I loved Drew's business partner and hope his book is next. Tab's mother was a hoot and almost everything that came out of her mouth had me laughing. Sadly she wasn't in the book that much. I also loved Tab's best friend and found out her book is the first in the series so I can't wait to read that. I thought the ending was so sweet. I just loved this book and recommend it to anyone who loves a opposites attract romance with heat and lovable secondary characters you want to get their own books.

Tabitha Drake is a flirty, fun personal stylist, who loves ice cream.

Her friend, Jasmine - from the 1st in this series, works for Andrew Bode, and when Tab first meets the CEO of the military contracting firm, she finds herself in hate with him. They agree on nothing, and appear to aggravate the hell out of each other by just being at opposite ends of every issue.

Drew finds himself outside his comfort zone whenever he’s near Tab. In his dour brown suits, with his red ties, he is cantankerous, cranky and downright complicated. He is a fitness fanatic, having been in the Navy, and being heightened by an accident he was in with his ex-fiance, and is completely governed by the rigidity that his healthy lifestyle dictates.

The rest is fairly predictable, and repetitive, and then the story got on board the drama llama. I was majorly affected by the author’s voice in this story. I struggled with her dialogue, re-reading paragraphs, and as a consequence didn’t gain a connection to either of these characters. I’m afraid I found them annoying rather than endearing, which I think is always at the root of immersing yourself.

I definitely think its a case of “it’s me”, as we all read a different book…so please don’t let little ole me put you off.

When I read Nina Crespo’s debut novella, Take me if You Dare, the first book in her Birthday Dare Series, I couldn’t wait to read more from her and see what else she had in store for the series. Unfortunately, Naughty Little Wishes did not live up to its predecessor. I HATED Tabitha from the very beginning. Yes, hate is a very strong word but it applies to her. Because of her, I found the book hard to read.

Tabitha Drake is a personal stylist who travels the country, taking people’s closets apart and giving them a new look. I won’t deny that she’s good at her job. My problem is that she thinks she always right and that she can do whatever the heck she wants. News flash, she’s not always right and she doesn’t understand or seem to care that her actions have consequences.

Andrew Bode is co-founder and CEO of Bode-Wynn, a private security firm. Yes, he’s young. Yes, he’s rigid and set in his ways. But a past tragedy has made him so. In all honesty, my like of Andrew is what boasted my review of this book up.

Nina definitely stepped up the heat level from the first book, but failed when it came to the characters. But with that said, I’m still looking forward to reading more books from her and this series.

Tabitha Drake and Andrew Bode had one of those attractions that they couldn't stay in the same room without arguing about anything and everything but the sexual chemistry is explosive. He's in the personal protection/security business and she's a personal stylist. Drew promises a client Tabitha's services in hopes that the client will renew his contract with his company. Tabitha's willing on one condition. That he'll let her update his drab wardrobe. While in town, she's staying at his house and things start to get casually steamy between them. One night he wakes from a nightmare and Tabitha realizes that he has unfinished business with an ex-fiance that he was in a car accident with. When Tabitha hunts down this ex-fiance, trying to fix his life, has she gone too far?

Strong female characters make for more of a challenge for those gorgeous, sexy alpha men. The chemistry between Tabitha and Drew was sizzling. Even when they argued, the attraction was still there. Also loved the secondary characters. This was a fun, sexy, well written story and I can't wait to read more from this fantastic author.

****An Advance Reader's Copy of Naughty Little Wishes by Nina Crespo was generously provided to me by the publisher in exchange of honest review.

3.5 stars, good but not exactly my favorite. But certainly better than book 1.

Tabitha is untameable. She's fierce, she's strong and she got her eyes set on Drew. The thing is, the cold, steel-hard CEO, Drew, refuse to have anything with Tabitha. Even though on the inside, he feel so much fire to this naughty young lady. What will happen next when Tabitha finds out Drew's secret?

Even though at first I didn't really connect to this story mostly because the story's kind of dragging and move a bit slow to my liking, eventually I liked it. I liked how raw and real Andrew's feeling toward his past and Tabitha. I can sense that he'd love to move on, but couldn't go as fast as she wants him to. I also loved Tabitha's character. She's a sunshine in Drew's cloudy life.

Too bad the closure between Drew and his past is a bit too fast. Kind of abrupt and I don't like the revelation. Definitely needs more explanation. But overall, I enjoyed this book. Not going to be the last book of Nina Crespo I read. I guarantee.

This is a first Nina Crespo read for me. I did like this one enough.

It’s a cute story with a sassy h and a structured H with sexiness hidden underneath. I like how Tab is exactly what Drew needs. Tab is funny and in-your-face. Drew is rigid at first because of his past but I like how he was unraveling slowly because of Tab. There were funny moments from their interactions. The chemistry between the 2 is hot!

There is insta-lust but the real feelings built up in time and that was nice to see. I do enjoy the enemies (of-sort)-to-lovers type of dynamics. There is drama but no stupid decisions, just misguided ones.

It’s a quick read. It felt a little choppy at times but not enough to make me not enjoy it. I actually want to find out now about Tab’s friend, Jasmine, the h in Take Me if You Dare.

Tabitha and Drew definitely rub each other the wrong way. Well...until they rub each other the right way. They spend a passionate night together and agree to never to it again. Then Tab ends up being the wild card necessary to getting a contract that Drew desperately doesn't want to lose. She agrees only if he lets her makeover his clothing style. Seriously...brown suits and red ties. Drew invites her to stay at his place and they can't fight their attraction any longer. This couple is over the top hot and their bickering is definitely foreplay. I so love Tab. She doesn't hold back when it comes to speaking her mind and brings a little chaos into Drew's life. Believe me...this man needed her to rock his world. I so loved them together.

I give Naughty Little Wishes 5 hearts!

How could you not love a brazen character such as Tabitha? Our introduction to her along with her naughty little secrets is just the beginning of a interesting story.
The author provides us with understanding on the background of each character, fun and sassy secondary characters and some great steamy scenes that could curl a girls toes.
I'm giving this book 4 1/2 stars.
I felt it ended just a hit abruptly otherwise this short read was very entertaining.

A great, quick read. Lots of hot sex, a little drama, weirdo ex, a great BFF. Really enjoyed it except for the all too quick ending. There's a previous book with her bff (Take Me If You Dare) and there's plenty of hot guys for more books.

The chemistry on this installment is more off the charts than the last one. It's true what most people say. Your aversion towards a particular person (usually from the opposite sex) is directly proportionate to your physical attraction towards them. Andrew and Tabitha are an example of that. As always, I love how the writer writes this story, but her ending makes me want more from this series. That just makes me sad, you see!

The narrator done a wonderful job with these characters. It's a great book some explicit scenes but there's still a great plot. Love the attitudes. Brings several emotions to the surface. I would recommend this book!

Audiobook Review:
Overall – 4
Performance – 4
Story – 4

This sequel to Take Me if You Dare can be read as a standalone. It follows a different couple, Tabitha and Andrew, who both appeared in Take Me if You Dare. Once again, Mia Madison did a good job narrating this story. It's hot and Tab and Andrew have explosive chemistry together. I think this story got a little better HFN than this first one and I enjoyed listening to it.
