Hush is book 4 of the Steel Valley Chains MC series with a HEA and interconnecting world. Although it is recommended to read the first 3 first, it can be read as a standalone. The journey of an enforcer and a butterfly…

Danika
The nightmares haunted me. I still felt the burning of my skin.
But it was him who pulled me out—it was him who saved me that night.
I’m a woman trying to find her place in the world again.
A woman missing who she used to be without remembering exactly who she was.
I’m alone without a clue what my future will hold. And stuck remembering every agonizing detail of my past.
I needed to feel alive again. And only when I did, was I finally free. It was because of him.
He breathed life back into me.

Hush
The nightmares haunted me. I still felt the flames over my skin.
The dreams choked me until I struggled to find breath—struggled not to embrace the welcoming of death that teased me.
Until her.
But I was afraid to accept it.
I was lost. Numb. Only existing.
I needed to feel alive again.
And only when I did, was I finally free. It was because of her.
She breathed life back into me.

Book 4 in the Steel Valley Chains MC series: Liem “Hush” and Danika. This is a MC enforcer, moody and broody MMC, tragic backstory, broken FMC and MMC, forced proximity, ptsd and anxiety rep, touch her and d!e, second chance at life, slow burn, light stalking, strangers to lovers, they heal each other, MC romance.
What an emotionally charged ride. This is definitely a slow burn but so worth it. The emotional connection you feel with Danika and Hush is so intense, and reading of their long fought for love was beautiful.
With it being the fourth book in the series it is recommended to read the first three books in the series first but not necessary. Reading the previous books will give you a better understanding of the character relationships and some plot points but they technically can be read as standalones.
I very much enjoyed this read and would 100% recommend this book, series, and author!

I received this book as an ARC

I started this book as a stand alone, not having read the 3 previous books. Going into it I liked how both main characters backgrounds would unfold and how they came to know each other. It was a very good read in terms of not being gullible like some stories. While I love the story, it's not one I think will stick with me and will reread again. Although it did make me want to read the others.

Hush and Danika are both broken for two different reasons and it's hard to not want them to be happy. A lot of twists and turns in their relationship, as well as other complications happening around them. In the end I love the ending and will look forward to reading the 3 previous as well as completing the series if C.M. Danks continues with other characters in the Steel Valley Chains world.

I received this book as an arc.

Where do I being? Every single time I am in a slump C.M . Danks helps me get out of it. This by far one of my favorite books aside from charger. The built up connection between the 2 main characters was just great. The heavy topics they had to discuss left you almost in tears! I can’t wait for the next book IYKYK!!!

C.M. Danks writing just keeps getting better and better!!

To say I’ve been anxiously awaiting this book would be an understatement. Hush has been seen in book 1-3 of the Steel Valley Chains MC. Always the silent enforcer with a story you’re begging to know hiding behind those eyes.

CM Danks absolutely delivers in this one. Hush is a tortured morally grey hero with a tragic past. His origin story will absolutely break your heart.

He finds reprieve from his demons in Danika, the woman he saved from capture. Danika’s trauma may have been a pivotal point in her life, but she is refusing to let that define her.

As these two dance around each other they develop a friendship, an understanding of who the other is and why they are that way. And as the walls start to come down both grow into themselves and each other.

C.M. Danks has done it again! I went into this ARC completely blind as a standalone. It was well written and I was able to follow along without being completely lost by not reading the prior books. It had all of the elements I expect from her including slow burn and touch her and die.

Hush has intrigued me since his first appearance. The quiet, mysterious man of few words whose story I was desperate to uncover. This book delivers everything I hoped for and more.

Danika's story is heartbreaking. What she endures is devastating, but watching her transform into a survivor showcases incredible strength. Her struggle to feel alive again and her desperate need for support is palpable throughout. Her reconnection with Tequila gives them both a chance to trauma bond and heal together, and it's during this reunion that she meets Hush, her savior who pulled her from the flames that haunt them both.
Two broken people, each given a second chance at life they haven't recognized yet, slowly finding their way to each other and becoming whole again. The forced proximity brings them together while the protective, "she takes care of him" dynamic creates a beautifully balanced relationship.

C.M. Danks writes a stunning story about healing, hope, and breathing life back into each other. Emotionally intense but deeply satisfying.

I think this is my favorite of the series!! I love the similarity between the quiet, brooding, Hush and the hesitant, hurt Danika—-both struggling with dark pasts still haunting their day to day present lives.

Hush had a difficult past—having once lost the love of his life, he seeks to escape and has found a no-fucks-given role as an “enforcer” with the Steel Valley Chains motorcycle club—exactly what he needs when he barely wants to live another day.

Danika is a survivor of sex trafficking in which she was forced to endure horrors of being captured and used and abused. She is having a hard time reentering the real world, that is, until she comes face to face with the one who pulled her out of the cage she was kept in—Hush. He makes her feel safe and secure, despite his hard exterior.

With a shared sense of dark pasts and hyper vigilance, Danika and Hush seems to find solace in one another. But can they move past what they’ve experienced to find a desire to keep living, possibly alongside each other?

Danger, protective instincts, found family, and inexplicable love, this book is simply captivating and has you just waiting to see how things will unfold.

Such a good read! Book 4 in this series but can be read as a standalone… though I’ve loved all the characters so highly recommend the series! Love the first chapter teaser for Book 5 and already can’t WAIT!! 😍

Thanks to the author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Another fantastic book from CM Danks. I loved reading how Danika and Hush came together, their story is so special how they healed each other and breathed life back into one another. I love how the other characters are weaved in, and how it keeps the MC vibe flowing nicely throughout. I’m so ready for more of this series🤩

🏍️ Welcome back to the Steel Valleys Chains MC series 🖤

because CM Danks has absolutely friggim SLAYED with Hush & Danika.

This story is a completely beautiful, soul-fulfilling journey, two strangers colliding at the exact moment they need each other most. Haunted by their own demons, they quietly, powerfully begin to heal together… and it wrecked me in the best way.

From the very first chapter, the pull between these two is undeniable. That instant connection drags you deeper into their world and refuses to let go.
The possessiveness. The loyalty. The passion. The pain.

And those steamy scenes and moments EEEKKK 😜🔥

Honestly, everyone deserves a Hush as their protector.

What really got me, though, was how deeply connected I felt as a reader—not just to their love story, but to the Steel Valleys Chains MC as a whole.

This series has such a massive heart, and seeing that brotherhood and unity captured so beautifully made this read hit even harder. 🖤🏍️
