The next books of the series! The Water Mage (Book 3): The Water Mage (Book 4):
I seek out monsters and slay them to grow stronger. To my shock, I recognize some as my own creations from the distant past.
Even more perilous than monsters are the dark secrets that devour all who draw too close. Yet no matter what disguise evil may wear—once it falls away, truth kills.
I just finished my advanced reader copy of this. I sent in a small list of corrections. I'm not really a fan of the mc. I do like bubble the little water elemental. she's cute and funny. the main character on the other hand I found to be duplicitous. he lies he cheats he steals and he kills with a devil may care attitude. he's just not very likable. oh and he's too good to count coppers yet again. and another character that bothers me is his landlady, she acts like she's his mother. I find her to be highly annoying. I want to tell her to shut up and go away because it's none of her freaking business. the story's not bad the stories actually pretty good I like the finding the lost goods and the antiques I wish there was more of that. I wish there was less of the main character because I just don't like his personality. this is my opinion yours can be different it's perfectly fine. and if you find any mistakes because I'm not perfect I can't find them all you can report them on Kindle unlimited or you can send a message directly to magic dome publishing and they will correct any mistakes did you May find.
The protagonist is too full of himself all the times for my taste. He only keeps surviving and succeeding due to plot armor and the linear story where he accidentally always picked the skills he would need later on. What a coincidence!
The constant retelling of scenes from different perspectives is really redundant and is getting aggravating the more this happens.
I like the concept of his lost and found shop and would have liked to read more about that.
I really disliked the MC throughout the entire book ignoring the plight of the people who keep being poisoned throughout the book despite having the means to remove the local merchants who sell the poison! Instead he only thinks about himself and uses his companion for his benefits..
I received a review copy of this book. Aqilon is the second book which carries on the story of the main character who manages to make quite a lot of progressing this installment of the story. It's good to see interesting things happen around him, and it certainly makes for interesting reading. Looking forward to the next one.
Good solid story. Slow pacing and simple plotlines.
A good follow up to the first book. Simple plotline and the pacing was slow. It was a little annoying when he ended a chapter on a event or cliffhanger, only too recap the chapter ending in the first two paragraphs of the new chapter. Sometimes it was from a different characters point of view, it still felt redundant. I like the main character in the world building. The plot line rehashes pretty solid reliable tropes and character arcs, and I still think some of the supporting cast have more interest to the reader at times. Overall, its a simple read with a fun main character, nothing more, nothing less.
Writing itself has good pacing, development of plot exposition through character interactions and dialogue. One main point of improvement with the author is that the characters don’t face enough stress to ever really feel challenged. I understand that with the premise of this series that might be more difficult to implement however the main character just steamrolls through life hard to ever really root for him when you know he faces no shortcomings or failures.
Very entertaining. Danilo is a water mage and no one knows. Enemies to their great regret. He’s nice. He cares about people. His side kick is cute. I enjoyed this book just as much as book one. Really good read.
This is a really fun series, and I’d highly recommend it. If you enjoyed A Healer’s Way or Me and My Demons, you’ll find a similar vibe here, along with that top-notch Russian-style LitRPG feel.
This second book is full of action against crazy powerful creatures, violent gangs, and scheming aristocrats. The magic is totally cool and its application is very creative
I bit different from the normal story I have read before. The main character takes you from rags to riches story, with a revenge ark mixed in. The main character builds his fortune and strength carefully so his enemies don't see him.
Not bad, decent action and characters, but at $8.99 a book I will pass on the rest. This author must think he is Tom Clancy or something, plenty of books like this or better for $2.99 to $3.99
It’s a good progression to the story. He’s building his strength up. Gathering allies. Taking care of the minor enemies that pop up. I’m looking forward to the next book
