I love me a masked gamer! Eli is the town pariah, he’s hated by everyone. Blair is the popular girl, she was in pageant’s when she was young. She is back at home for her parents annual Halloween party, but sneaks out to hang out with her friends at a different party. At the party she runs in to Phantom, a super popular masked gamer that she is obsessed with. Little does she know, Phantom and Eli are one in the same. She agrees to be his for one night, and he will help her live out all of her dark fantasies. Please check triggers before going into this. I’m also so mad this just ended with a “The end for now…”, what am I supposed to do with my life now hahahahha. Also I will just mention, this is extremely similar to The Losers duet by Harley Laroux. So if you like that book, you will like this book.

Ping Me by Molly Doyle left me with a desire to read more masked media men, and since I’ve previously read The System series by Madison, Beg For It was just waiting to be picked up, really.

Halloween party, masked man, prim and proper girl hiding dark desires, losers vs popular girl, kind of enemies, appearances to upkeep. You see the vision. It gave me loose vibes from Losers by Harley Laroux and it was thrilling (emphasis on loose).

I wished it was longer than it is, because the story was interesting enough to have an actual background and continuity to it. But the ending suggests we’ll see more of the characters, so we’ll see. Speaking of the ending, it left me quite surprised and on edge; I need more.

Amusing little read for the spooky times ahead.

But this story was delicious and just a little dark.

I only read BEG FOR IT because I loved this author's other series, THE SYSTEM, so take my review with a grain of salt because I don't usually do dark romance. The writing was engaging and good and overall this wasn't bad but it just wasn't for me. Eli was obsessive, possessive, and emotionally attached to his knives while Blair was the perfect good girl princess on the outside but was longing to break free of that (without actually doing much to try). The spice was plentiful and well written and I liked the small moments of humor between Eli and his friends.

But I just can't take it seriously and rather than being all into Eli's darkness and finding it sexy I just found myself laughing at these 20-somethings who think they're hot shit. Between Eli's unhinged, and completely unrealistic behavior and Blair's macho friends trying to act all tough I just couldn't suspend my disbelief. I can't be expected to keep a straight face every time these small town, barely out of college guys say "everybody knows not to mess with me". Sorry for laughing so much at parts that weren't supposed to be funny. And then we got a cliffhanger so there wasn't even any resolution to the relationship.

Spicy and deranged. This book delivered exactly what I crave in a novella. Absolute greatness it was!
Blair has always been the perfect pageant princess for everyone until her dark underlying desires are being stripped away and bought to life by no one other than her desired masked online streamer she thirsts heavy on! Their interaction is steamy and sexy however things take a wild turn 🌶🔥 all in ONE halloween night.

The smut was so damn good, specially the switchblade scene! Absolutely Chef's kiss.
Elliot and Blair's chemistry and the tension between em was to die for!

If you are into masked mmc's who are morally grey and unhinged, This one's for you!

I'm agreeing with the majority of the reviews for this novella. It needs to be a novel. This is everything I wanted in a spicy dark romance that involves masked men who are also, gamers. The biggest question I have is... Will there be a part two? Another novella or something leading up to the WTF ending I just got. Because WTH! You can't just end it like that! I have questions that need to be answered dammit. 😭

This is just what the doctor ordered. I have had a really hard time focusing on reading right now and this delivered exactly what I wanted. I am obsessed with a man in a mask...Kylo Ren, Ghost from CoD, the Mandalorian, Boba Fett. I could go on and on. I always get thirst traps of Ghost all the time, so I can relate to the heroine. Give me a masked, morally grey hero and throw in some knife play and I am in.

honestly this was so fun! it’s a perfect halloween novella. i loved the plot and characters. eli is my fav! i really liked the pacing and how much we got. i do wish it was a full novella or i hope we do get more in the future like it says. the spice was great but not too much. i also enjoyed the drama involved. i’m dying to see how their story ends up! highly recommend!!
