I could not put this book down. It will shock no one that I loved Book 2 in the Silver Springs series by Kristen Proby. Her entire Montana world is one of my favorite fictional places to spend time, but Xander and Ivy will always hold a special place in my heart. And I’ll say it from page 1, I’m claiming Xander as my own…y’all can find your own book boyfriend.
This is a hockey/sports romance with an injured athlete and his physical therapist. Ivy is strong and independent, working full time by day and then keeping her mom’s sports bar alive by night. On top of that, she’s dealing with the worst excuse for a mother I’ve seen on page in…possibly ever. How she grew into the strong, fierce, loving woman that she is, is nothing short of a miracle. Ivy is exactly what Xander needs, from being a PT to not caring a single bit about his money or fame.
Xander is one of the best examples of a marshmallow MMC I’ve ever read. He loves with everything he has, whether it’s his siblings, his neice, his dad, and then Ivy. His love language is acts of service and he is quite possibly the best there is at it. Even from afar while angry at her, he’s still always looking out for her.
Liam Cortright and Savannah Thomas are simply astonishing. They bring Xander and Ivy to life in a way that will suck you in and have you living the story right along with them. I read the book first and then listened to it for the second go-around. I didn’t think it was possible for me to fall more in love with this story and these characters but listening to the emotion, struggle, yearning, and love had me experiencing it all over again differently and even better than the first time. I love the full cast narration and am so glad Kristen Proby elected for this format. I’ve got this one on repeat for the foreseeable future.

Ivy & Xander’s story is so sweet and I ate this book up! After getting injured and heading home to recover near family, Xander finds himself back in Silver Springs. Their story is emotional, vulnerable, and overall just perfect. And those spicy scenes = holy smokes they were delicious!
The audiobook for this was so freaking good and I devoured it! Performed in duet by Savannah Thomas & Liam Cortright, but also featuring a full cast! I’d definitely recommend listening to this one if you’re on the fence!

Loved this book! Xander is perfect, I see myself in Ivy and they even made a cat seem adorable. The Hendrix family is so fun and supportive.

4.25⭐️ 3🌶️ Kristen Proby really just has a knack for writing small town romances packed with all the feels, good pacing, sweet swoony moments, and sizzling spice.
this was pretty insta-lovey, but i've never minded that to be honest. especially not when you have a down bad man like Xander who simply knows what he wants, isn't afraid to go after it, and doesn't make any apologies for how quickly he tries to lock it down. a decisive and dedicated king for sure.
i really appreciated the fact that neither main character gave up their dreams just for the sake of being with the other person. i know that real relationships sometimes require sacrifices from time to time- but it was refreshing to see X and Ivy both get what they wanted in the end, even if it looked slightly different from what they were expecting at the start of the book. i also loved Xander's unwavering dedication to having Ivy's back, sticking up for her when needed, showing her that she's worth more than she gave herself credit for, and most importantly for empowering her to believe in herself and not let anyone (especially family) walk all over her.
the found family was great just like any KP book, and i'm STOKED for the next one because i've been waiting for Ava to kick 🤮Chad🤮 to the curb for what feels like eons. homegirl seriously deserves the most magical HEA ever! i can't wait for December:)

I loved Xander and Ivy so much. I have read a ton of Kristen’s books, but I have to say this series is becoming my absolute favorite of hers.

This one was so good. Give me a hockey player + a small town and you’ve combined my two favorite things not to mention that Xander was possessive and protective in all the right ways.
Ans ivy. That girl was strong, took on more than she ever should have had to shoulder and still was just a kind and sweet soul. I loved her and I loved her and Xander together. So much.
I also love how this played out with their professional vs personal relationship (she’s his physical therapist) was handled so well.
I love this family. I loved this story and honestly if you can listen to this one instead of just eyeball reading it, absolutely do it. And already great story was enhanced with equally great audios and I loved every moment of it.
Savannah Thomas was the perfect ivy for so many reasons and Liam Cartwright did a fabulous job as Xander. They both brought heat and emotional depth to this on equal measure.
Fantastic scans I absolutely cannot wait for Ava’s story.

Kristen Proby, you KNOW exactly how to get me. I have been waiting for Xander and Ivy since Pretty Little Scars, and WHAT ABOUT US completely exceeded the ridiculous expectations I had built up in my head. I was hooked from the beginning and absolutely devoured this one. This series has fast become an all time favorite!
Ivy stole my whole heart. She’s strong, smart, funny, hardworking, and so damn resilient, but she’s spent years being made to question whether she’s worthy of love, support, and even having her own needs. Watching her slowly realize that she doesn’t have to carry everything by herself anymore? MY HEART.
And then there’s Xander. This man is SO GONE FOR HER. Protective. Patient. Attentive. Supportive. Acts of service in ALL CAPS. He notices the things Ivy doesn’t say. He encourages her dreams. He believes in her when she struggles to believe in herself. He takes care of her without ever making her feel incapable. And when he decides she’s his person? That’s it. Man said I HAVE CHOSEN and never looked back. Their banter is adorable, their chemistry is fire, and the way they become a safe place for each other absolutely wrecked me.

Apparently What About Us was my first time listening to both Savannah Thomas and Liam Cortright, and after this? I would gladly listen to either of them again. Their chemistry was fantastic, their performances complemented each other beautifully, and Savannah especially impressed me with everything she brought to Ivy. This woman goes through some deeply emotional moments, and Savannah handled every single beat so well. Liam was equally perfect as Xander, giving him exactly the steady, solid, reassuring presence I wanted from his character.
And Xander! What a GOOD GUY. He is such a constant source of strength for Ivy—thoughtful, caring, generous, and completely sincere about wanting to be there for her. Ivy has spent so much of her life dealing with a horrible situation with her mother that kindness doesn’t come easily to her. She’s understandably skeptical of Xander’s intentions at first, but once she realizes this man is completely serious and all in? They never really look back. I loved watching her slowly learn that she could trust him, lean on him, and accept the kind of care she’d never been able to count on before. There was something so satisfying about watching Ivy grow while Xander simply remained steady beside her rather than trying to swoop in and fix everything.
Their chemistry was FIRE, too. 🔥 There is plenty of heat here, but I liked that their emotional connection felt just as strong. The romance develops alongside Ivy’s personal growth, which made their relationship feel like much more than simple attraction. Xander sees what she needs and continually shows up for her, and watching Ivy begin to believe she deserves that kind of love was probably my favorite part.
This is the second book in the series, and the audiobook also has an incredible supporting cast featuring Connor Crais, Jason Clarke, Stella Hunter, Kat Auden, Avery Caris, Samantha Brentmoor, and Sebastian York. With so many recognizable voices popping in, the whole production has this lively ensemble, almost full cast feel that made the world feel even bigger and more immersive. If you’re an audiobook romance reader, the narration alone makes this one worth putting on your radar.

I’ve been in love with Kristen Proby’s books since last year and it’s so beautiful and amazing reading her newest work of art 🥹🩵 she has a way to write characters with so much depth, emotion and heart, and I know every time that the book won’t last me more than a few hours 😩🛐
I’ve been waiting to dive into Xander and Ivy’s story since the moment I finished Pretty Little Scars, and oh boy, Ivy was such an amazing surprise, I love her!! My girl is so pure and brave and amazing and sassy in the best way, and smart and so resilient too, she’s been dealing with her awful mother her whole life and with her abuses, she told her time and time again that her anxiety wasn’t a big deal, always brushing off her feelings, she was bullied at school, and she though she want worthy of love or even remembered 😩💔 and my heart broke any time she self doubt about her and her value, she’s an amazing physical therapist and a great friend and human being, so it was a no-brainer that Xander was sooo gone for her the moment he knew she would be his physical therapist 🙊😮💨
Of course I loved Xander, I mean, how couldn’t I?! That man’s love language was acts of service and it noticed!! 😩🩵🛐 he was adamant to keep Ivy safe, he offered her a home when she needed it, he couldn’t keep his hands off her, he wanted to help her achieve all of her dreams, he was so proud of her, in every possible way, and the best part? He believed in her, he always listened to her about his knee rehab, he respected her profession en encouraged her to pursue her goals 😭🩵 and he’s the most amazing cat daddy too 😩🛐 their relationship is the most perfect thing I’ve ever read! Their connection was instant, but it was also timeless and had history, they were so meant to be that I just couldn’t stop reading them together 🩵 I have no single bad thing to say about this book at all!

I loved how sassy Ivy was, especially after everything she's gone through in her personal life (again no spoilers, because this story is best read going in blind!). Add in Xander who falls for, adores, and takes care of her like the queen she is, and I loved these two together - from their friendship and banter to the spice and heat they brought!
And one of my fav things about Xander? How down bad he is for Ivy. And lets be honest, Kristen Proby writes some our favorite down bad MMCs, and Xander was so obsessed with Ivy!

I loved Ivy and Xander so much! I think they are so great together and really loved their chemistry! Ivy is the cutest- she’s sassy and fun and hard working. Underneath her brave face is a lot of trauma and doubt though and I just wanted to hug and squeeze her all throughout this story! Xander is amazing. I loved how he took up for and cared for Ivy from the start. He saw her true self and helped her to see it too. I loved their history, although Xander didn’t remember her.. It was as if his heart just KNOWS how special she is and knows exactly how to stand up for her. This was such a sweet book with the perfect amount of emotions and spice to wrap their story up perfectly!

4.5⭐ Kristen Proby's What About Us sent my heart into a tailspin. This is a love story that will twist your heart, smooth out the pain, and put you on a rollercoaster ride where you'll be grinning from ear to ear by the end. Even though there are a few dark moments in this story, my heart was full to the brim by the time I reached the end. (Check the trigger warnings if you are sensitive to reading about traumatic events)
Xander and Ivy’s story had gut wrenching moments but knowing that Kristen Proby would protect our hearts, all would be alright. I knew that they would somehow get through it all and have their HEA, reading about how they got there was simply an amazing journey.
I also listened to the ALC by two of my favourite narrators. This was also a full cast narration, in that narrators for the characters from the rest of the series show up here to play their part. I freaking loved it! Savannah and Liam gave amazing performances that made me feel all the emotions. From the embarrassment, the hurt, the fun parts and the loving moments. I loved it all.

But Xander was never meant to stay in town. What influence will that have if they were going to start something? Will they have any chance to consolidate what they felt for one another?
Ahhh, this book was such a beautiful rollercoaster of emotions!!! That whole tension between Xander and Ivy was mega crazy and that was without him knowing their past. I truly adoored the way Xander was around Ivy, the way he protected her and how he was always so thoughtful when it came to her well-being. She had the worst experiences when it came to her mom, always trying to be the one compromising, being forced to cover for all the messed up things she was doing. That was really exhausting and I was in awe of her strength and resilience. That's why I was so emotional when I saw the way Xander was with her, that she finally had someone to take care of her for once. I hated her mother soooo, sooo much, being so pissed about everything she was doing and you'll understand my state when you'll see what she her behavior. Just disgusted by her and how heartless she was.
Listening to Liam Cortright for the first time was so beautiful, adoring how he managed to bring Xander to life. At the same time, Savannah Thomas did an amazing job as well, being so emotional during a couple of scenes. They rendered this story so wonderfully in audio format, loving that tension, that emotion and chemistry which they managed to express through their performance.

Ivy absolutely stole my heart. She has spent so much of her life feeling like she wasn’t enough, between the way her mother treated her and everything she dealt with growing up. Yet she still became this strong, caring woman who takes care of everyone around her. There were so many moments when I just wanted to reach into the book and hug her. Watching her slowly realize that she deserves love, happiness, and people who actually show up for her was probably my favorite part of the story.
And Xander… THAT MAN. 🫠 The protectiveness, the acts of service, the way he paid attention to Ivy and made sure she knew she could count on him. I loved that he didn’t try to magically fix everything for her. He was just there, supporting her and reminding her that she didn’t have to handle everything alone. He fell HARD, and I was here for every second of it.
Their childhood connection made everything between them feel even sweeter, especially knowing how much Xander meant to Ivy when they were younger. Add in the hockey romance, forced proximity while she helps with his rehab, small-town vibes, found family, and some seriously spicy chemistry… yeah, I was completely invested. 🔥

I have been waiting for this story since the ending of Pretty Little Scars, and when I tell you this story was SO much better than even the ridiculous amount I hyped it up in my head … I genuinely cannot explain it. It was just. So. Good.
Xander is definitely Tucker’s brother, but you can see how differently he feels about relationships. And then there’s Ivy.
Here’s the thing: Xander has known Ivy his whole life. The reason she remembers him is because when they were younger, he was kind to her. And that kindness sticks with her.
There are definitely trigger warnings you’ll want to pay attention to, and let me just say … we HATE Ivy’s mom. But I think what makes up for so much of it is that these Hendrix siblings know how to make their partners feel cared for, seen, valued, and loved.
And honestly? I think that is one of the biggest acts of love there is: to truly see someone.
Not just on their best days.
But on their worst days, too.
Xander sees Ivy when she’s struggling. He sees the crosses she carries, and none of it makes her less worthy in his eyes. It doesn’t change the way he feels about her. And that feeling is reciprocated when Ivy sees Xander at his lowest, too.

September 12, 2026This is a very slow burn with very slow pacing. About 50% into the book, I gave up.
The plot features a professional hockey player and the physical therapist hired to help him rehab after a serious knee injury.
As a byproduct of working with him and spending lots of time together, she realizes that he has suffered from multiple undocumented concussions. He has notable memory lapses, headaches, sensitivity to light and difficulty sleeping. (While the team doctor knows about the head injuries, he has concealed them.) I was really disturbed that there was no serious consideration / discussion about retirement and long term consequences of continued play. (The only conversations relate to the heroine's fear that he will forget her. I skimmed to the end to check if this was the case.) He loves the game and it's just understood that he will continue to play. Just couldn't understand the disregard for his long term well being.

This book & audio were absolutely amazing! Xander is so freaking perfect. The way he loves Ivy had me in a puddle the entire time. He let her be who she is and loved and supported her every step of the way. And the mouth on that man had me sweating!
My girl Ivy is such a queen! She had a rough upbringing, but somehow didn't let it make her bitter. I related to her so much and watching her deal with her anxiety made me feel so seen.
Xander and Ivy balanced each other out so well. They are each other's safe space and soft place to land.
Oh and watching Xander be the hottest cat dad to the cutest kitty....I about swooned right off the couch!
Last but certainly not least, Savannah Thomas and Liam Cortright knocked the duet narration right out of the park! And to make it even better it's a full cast narration throughout the whole series!
I already miss the Hendrix family and can't wait to be back with them!

Xander and Ivy’s story was amazing!!!! I loved the attraction they couldn’t deny. I loved the way they fell in love and the beautiful relationship that developed. Xander looked after Ivy every single time and I adored how this woman, who had always been alone and doing everything by herself, finally found love and support in Xander. She also found a new family and friends and I loved how they embraced her.
'What About Us' was a wonderful story where love and courage triumph, and scarred hearts can heal and love again. It felt like a warm hug and it left me with a gooey feeling.

A fantastic performance by Liam Cortright, Savannah Thomas and a full cast. The way they embraced the characters and managed to show both vulnerability and strength? LOVED IT! And of course those spicy scenes? SWOON!!!!!!

The way Xander & Ivy have my heart!! I couldn’t put this one down! I adored these two so much. I loved the way Xander showed up for her, the way he built her up and showed her she wasn’t alone anymore. My heart shattered for Ivy and what she’d been through, but Xander’s patience and love put the pieces all back together. And can we talk about how relatable Ivy is? Because oof I saw so much of myself in her and her anxiety. My heart was so happy to see her be loved so completely. I also loved getting to learn about their history and getting to see the rest of the Hendrix fam! I really enjoyed this one, and cannot wait for what’s next in Silver Springs!

Xander! The man he is. My god. I absolutely loved his character and the way that he cherished our girl, Ivy. He is such a man’s man. The way he showed her how much he cared by doing acts of service really touched my heart 🥹
Ivy was such a special FMC. Her home life was atrocious and her mother was such a nightmare. I loved how her character rose above the trauma of what she experienced and grew into such a lovely woman.

I always love friends to lovers, and this one didn’t disappoint. I always know that when I pick up a Kristen Proby book I will be smiling and feeling good after.
This story was everything I needed, I love a sports romance, as we know we all love a hockey romance on top of that.
Xander and Ivy have such good chemistry and I love their story and the hurdles they face to be together. I love that Xander always shows how he is there for Ivy and the other girls accept her into their circle.
Overall I enjoyed this story and always love Kristen Proby books.

Their chemistry was undeniable and I loved watching their connection grow deeper as they got to know each other better! I loved Ivy! Despite not having the easiest upbringing she was such a kind, strong and independent woman! Xander falls first and hard for Ivy and would do anything to make her life easier. Xander was such a support for Ivy, and he was so damn swoony!
