Enemy of My Enemy
Nephesh Security is a privately owned and funded agency that does what the government can’t. Protecting those that can’t protect themselves, and bringing down the evil that the world breeds.
Agent Adler has always toed the line between what’s right and what’s legal, and when he became a part of NS that didn’t change. Known as a bit of a maverick agent among already unconventional agents, it didn’t come as a surprise to many when Adler ends up recruiting a man he once despised.
Rush didn’t expect the straight and narrow path to be easy, but he wasn’t expecting the balancing act to be this hard either. Then again, he never would have expected the person he once would have called his nemesis to give him the chance to redeem himself either.
But will their shared history be too much to move past? Or will that past be exactly what they need to get the job done?
The mission was supposed to be simple, find the kidnapped doctor, and bring William Dai down. But nothing is ever simple when Adler and Rush are together, and the “simple” mission quickly spirals into a darker conspiracy.

An absolute knock-out of a book one.
It's so hard to review these books without spoilers but lemme just say, any AKASL agent worth beans is not going to want to miss this twist-riddled installment to the SLU.

5 stars. AHHHHH! The perfect continuation to
End Game
and precedent to
Odd One Out.
I am LOVING watching Rush's arc continue to develop, and slowly (very slowly, lol) watch the growing relationship between him & Adler. 💙 Also, this ends on a cliffhanger, so I NEED BOOK TWO ASAP!

Oh. My. Goodness. WHY MUST IT END ON A QUESTION?? More more more!! I am so bad at writing reviews. Only ranting. Cause anything by PD is good and so good I want MORE. 🥺 this is soooo good. I loved seeing interactions and feeling like they’re just that much closer to being friends. 🤭 *sighs*

Yayyy!! Definitely satisfying, definitely need more. Felt like it ended a bit abruptly but oh well as long as we get another one fast. Felt like kind of an episode of the story or something and like we didn't get much further than that. Also...references and connections to other series within the SLU were great.
