I throughly enjoyed this book. A very wholesome read. I was very invested in the characters and their stories. A book about forgiveness, faith, family and love.
Amish Fiction is a genre that I absolutely LOVE .Miriam's Little Gentleman by Anne Blackburne is Book 13 in The Heart of the Amish Series. The series is written by various authors and I have been enjoying this series from the beginning!
WOW, this book really captured my interest from the very first pages. The main characters in this book are Miriam Zook and David Miller. Miriam and David are Childhood friends from the Amish Community. Miriam has always had a "crush" on David throughout their childhood and when she reveals her admiration toward David, he leaves the Amish Community and moves to the Mennonite Community. Miriam is an only child and spends her days painting art works and then sells the Art as a source of income. I really felt for Miriam as she really wants someone to love, but her heart has always been toward David. 7 years after David left the Amish Community, he comes back to Willow Creek. David comes back as he felt that the Amish Community was and always will be where he wants to be. The change of heart and mind for David was very strong as he comes back with full intent on never leaving the Amish Community again and joining the Amish Church fully. I really saw the change in David, yet Miriam was reluctant to believe he was back for good. She also was reluctant to be able to open her heart to him, even though the feelings toward David never left. I really LOVE that Miriam and David were able to communicate and reconcile all that had happened since Childhood, especially the time that David was away from the Amish Community. The book is one of Second Chances, Forgiveness, LOVE and Family I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Amish Fiction! GREAT BOOK!
This is a fast read, and a great add on to The Heart of the Amish series! The theme here is forgiveness, and at times it it hard, which it usually is. There is some sweet romance here, a romance that has been on hold for over six years, and we hope from the beginning that these two, Miriam and David, will finally remove all the obstacles, or will they? We become immersed in the Amish community here in Ohio, Walnut Creek, and see the trials and support that is offered to their members. There are some conclusions here from the previous books in this series, but I am hoping for more and being able to spend more time with the characters I love being with! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Barbour, and was not required to give a positive review.
This is a sweet story about David and Miriam. They have been good friends since childhood until a misunderstanding in the community has David leaving the state. He is gone for 6 years. Now he is back. Miriam is leery to trust David again. He begins to try and earn her trust again and rebuild their childhood relationship into something more. This book has wonderful characters. It's about love, forgiveness, second chances, reconciliation and God's healing power. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed are my own. This is a part of the Heart of The Amish Series. This has been a really good series to read. This book releases on May 1st. #netgalley #miriamslittlegentleman #barbourpubishing
I enjoy reading stories that are about second chances and forgiveness. When Miriam confessed to David that she loved him, he immediately left town with no explanations. Now he is back and Miriam has thrown a wall up around her heart. Will David be able to break down that wall and will Miriam be able to forgive him? Such a sweet clean romance and I have enjoyed reading each book that has been in this series. I highly recommend it and be sure you check out the authors other books. You won’t be disappointed.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and the author. All words are my own.
Miriam's Little Gentleman by Anne Blackburne is #13 in The Heart of the Amish series. Miriam's cat Beauregard connects this novel with the other novels because he is a litter mate to the cats in these works.
As always, Anne Blackburne's novels are easy reads with wonderful characters and intriguing plot lines. Can Miriam and David put their past hurts behind them and move forward? Only time will tell.
Releases May 1st. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Miriam’s Little Gentlemen by Anne Blackburne. Another wonderful sweet romance from The Heart of the Amish Series, I believe this is number 13. This story is of talented painter Miriam and her lost love David who has returned for a second chance. Full of Faith, Hope, Love and Family. This is a wonderful series. Thank you to #NetGalley and #Barbour Publishing for this Arc. These thoughts are all my own. Releases May 1, 2026.
Loved reading the inspirational and engaging story. When David comes back to town, he wants to reconnect with his family, get baptized, make furniture, and start seeing Miriam, but Miriam is hesitant about seeing David because he hurt her last time he left town after she poured out her heart to him. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting romance story.
Lovely Amish story about forgiveness and second chances. Six years ago Miriam confessed to David that she loved him. That next day he left town. Now he is back and he has a lot of explaining to do.
