Phantarus

Rate this book
From the universe of the acclaimed Ethelium Trilogy comes a haunting new Sci-fi horror. An unknown vessel drifts through the galactic shipping lanes.
A warship is sent to investigate.

The ship is empty. Lifeless.

Or so it seems.

Near a black hole called Solkara Minor, a rain-soaked world turns in silence — Phantarus.

Nothing escapes the black hole’s pull.
No signal.
No memory.

Until now.

Deaths begin at an industrial processing plant. Few at first. Easily dismissed.
The workers are told that they were accidents.

They are lying.

When Agent Vaul arrives, he discovers a pattern beneath the violence — one that points not to madness, but intent.
Something old has found a way back into the light.

It does not kill without reason.
It does not stop once it begins.

The truth is awake.
And it is hungry.

A chilling fusion of science fiction and gothic horror, Phantarus descends into the darkness — and brings something back with it.

About the author

Kevin Hirons

4 books2 followers
Kevin Hirons is a science fiction author whose stories spring from a life forged at the intersection of space-based dogfights and distant worlds. Born and raised in Kingston upon Hull, in the north of England, he grew up devouring the worlds of Star Wars, 007, Blade Runner, Alien, Predator—and anything else that sparked that electric mix of wonder and action.

By day, Kevin is a chartered project and programme manager in the Aerospace & Defence sector, with decades of experience managing aircraft, missile defence, ground vehicle, and submarine programmes. Those experiences — the hum of engines, the precision of engineering, and the military personas that make it all happen — are woven into his fiction, giving it technical authenticity and emotional weight.

He lives with his wife and two daughters, in a household always brimming with stories, rehearsals, and performance. Although writing has long been his obsession, he only began really carving out time for it in 2018. His debut novel, Rebellion’s End, appeared in 2024, followed by two sequels in 2025. A fourth novel, a Sci-Fi horror, is in the works for release in early 2026.

Kevin writes to explore what is possible in impossible situations — of duty, risk, sacrifice, hope and a few unexpected twists along the way. He welcomes feedback from readers and delights in making connections through shared journeys beyond the horizon.
