Omg, I loved this book!! I am picky about angel books, but this one was fantastic. It doesn't preach about religion or talk mostly about God. You've got a couple of sexy fallen angel warriors fighting demons and protecting the ones they love. It's well written and full of action! Each angel has their own "burden" and deals with things differently. Lucius is the leader and the others are loyal to him, even if it means getting kicked out of heaven. The heroine in this book is so loving and nurturing. They are perfect for each other! This book has action, betrayal, love, brotherhood, and a couple of hot steamy scenes. (; I'm already wishing the next book was out!! I think fans of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series would enjoy this series.

Oh my goodness! This book was amazing! I could not put it down and when I had to I did not want to. It was packed with action, mystery, fallen angels and love. You should know I love books about angels, fallen or not, they are all just amazing in their own way. I must say I have never read a book about fallen angels quite like this one before. I loved that it was unique, there are so many that are the same this that or the other...
It starts, as The Almighty has come down on five of His angels for they have made a mistake and deserve to be punished. Among the five angels is Lucius, Domniel, Jude, Mordecai and Elijah. The Almighty's punishment is to sentence them to Earth to fight evil. Along the way, each have a special gift, or I would call it a gift, not everyone would say that being blind, or deaf a gift. Given each angel lost something when they fell, each of their other senses heightened.
Lucius journey starts when Persephone saved a child from a very bad situation and she needs to use a phone. She runs into The Fallen, surprised at her initial reaction and how calm she feels with Lucius. Persephone seems to be a key to the puzzle, after crossing The Fallen Angels path...interrupting when Elijah is trying to heal Domniel and seems to know everything will be okay. Something comes over Lucius, something he cannot hide, much less try to avoid, not matter how much he tries, Persephone gets under his skin.
Lucifer will not allow The Fallen to complete their task, as he chose to become evil rather than fall, he is Satan's Pet. Placing his pawns to stop The Fallen Angels. he sends 'The Liar' into the mix giving him an advantage...one that he feels will do whatever it takes to seduce The Fallen and bring him what he wants.
Will Lucifer's advantage overcome The Fallen? Will Persephone put too much trust in Veronica? When Persephone's own sister comes for a visit, who among The Fallen does she rub the wrong way? Is Coriander's own blood stronger than some two bid hooker's word?

Holy wow! These are like Boondock Saints meets The Prophecy, with a bit of sexy thrown in for good measure. I absolutely love the little idiosyncrasies that make up each of The Fallen and fell head over heels for Persephone and Coriander. In the first book we get to meet everyone and find out a bit more about who’s who, what their story is, and what they have to do with the big picture. In a series with the potential for several books, it’s important not to skimp in individual installments, so I was happy Tara Wood understands this important principle by making each book engrossing and utterly readable. Lucius is more light and Jude is much darker, which won’t come as a surprise with some of the twisted revelations within Jude’s appearances in Lucius’s book. Absolutely read these in order to avoid spoiling things for yourself, and you won’t want to miss anything. I’m really looking forward to reading more, especially about Mordecai and Elijah!

I really enjoyed this read, following the angels who have fallen out of favour. This book is very slick, engaging and I adore the fact that the angels have each been deprived of a sense, so have to rely on each other. Very different, and that is refreshing to read in this genre. The characters have depth, intrigue and a real human side to them which really helps this book zip along. I also love the cover, and would buy this book from a look of that alone!

Too many main characters
The main characters of this novel were supposedly Lucius and Persephone. But they barely interact in this book at all. Do they end up together? Yes, like 5 mins into this book. Is this book about their love story, no.
This book is one big set up for all the other main characters' stories.The author was too busy telling everyone else's story to tell the story of Lucius and Persephone. That was really disappointing.
Theme and story line were promising but it was too much for one book and the balance was not right.

A really good read, I was a little skeptical at first with yet another story about angels and demons but this one had me gripped from the first few pages, so gripped that I instantly started reading the second one right after.

For a powerful story line, Lucius was a very engaging book, but there were too many issues that I had a hard time wrapping my brain around or couldn’t agree with. For starters, Persephone bumps into the brothers one unfortunate night and they (kidnap her) bring her to their home. So technically they are all strangers, kidnappers and she should be wary of trusting them. Especially, after a night of watching them fight and destroy a Strange creature in the alley and escaping by the skin of her teeth. Yet, here she is making herself comfortable in their house.
She is attracted to a stranger. They get cozy. Which was totally okay till she decided to clean up their house and wash their dishes and cook them meals??? Seriously.
While her intuition to sense good is on high alert, she has no warning system. Everything is hunky dory. She is not able to sense the Liar and the web of deceit she is spinning... which did not make sense.
There are too many plots going on and there is also a narration running in the background hinting at something (not the Fall, but some ulterior plan going on) which is too blurry in the least to make sense of. I know that you're not supposed to reveal everything in the book especially if a series is in play, but my interest dipped quite a few places.
The biblical connection of the characters was a bit confusing as you also have Greek Gods playing on the same level. I loved the Lara Croft character of Coriander – the shades of grey kept it interesting. But then again there's the entry of Zeus … odd.
You have Lucius and Lucifer competing against one another but Lucifer is coveting a Greek Goddess and Lucius loves Persephone. Then Lucifer is the king of hell but Satan is someone different here and the grand schemer of things. So, in a nutshell, it was confusing. This was a free book, so I was glad I had not invested money in it. Not too sure, if I want to go through the other books.

This book was interesting. I loved the concept of fallen angels, bad boys, demons and sex all rolled into one. When the author wants you to feel hot, you do! It's quite the well written piece. I'm not sure how I feel about the religious undertones. I tend to stay away from books like that. But, with all the action, sex and great story line going on, you can miss it if you're not looking.
A few parts had me wondering if I missed something, or left me a little confused. But all in all, this is just a good book and I will definitely be looking forward to the next installment of the series. You can't help but smile at Persephone and her adoring personality. Lucius makes me want to strip and lay down at his feet. Even the other characters were just so well developed in this book, that you felt they were all the lead hero/heroine.

You will find yourself enthralled with each character and wanting more of their story. Fortunately for those of us that love Tara Wood’s stories there will be more to the story of The Fallen until then I will have to be happy rereading this one. Tara has done a fantastic job on story line and character creation. This is one you won’t want to miss.

I would give this 3.5 stars, but rounded up to 4. It had a good storyline, but there was almost too much going on. It would bring up a new set of characters, and I'd have to think about where their story left off. It wasn't a cliffhanger, but it didn't leave a number of doors open. Even though I didn't really like Persephone, I think I would have enjoyed more time spent on the romance between her and Lucious. She was overly concerned with the well-being of others that it made her incredibly naïve. Watching her break down a big, tough angel's barriers was always a joy to see, even though, it ended up costing him some of his sanity when giving into her naïve opinions.
I thought it was interesting how each of the angels had a disability as punishment for disobeying their master's wishes, but did Lucious have one? If so, it wasn't mentioned anywhere near as often as the rest of the angels'.
I loved both Jude and Coriander's personalities more than Lucious and Persephone's, so I think their story will be a good one!

Great Dialogue!
It was a fresh unique take on angels and mythology. The banter between characters was fun and witty. I only occasionally had issues with flow of the storyline, but it was well worth the read. Great story, but what I loved most was the dialogue between characters. The dialogue was sharp , crude at times (but in a good way, lol), and non stop fun. Can't wait to read about Jude!

Lucius: the Fallen by Wood. I'm an atheist but with Catholic upbringing so this is a slant on an old story of angels or archangels like Lucifer being kicked out of heaven. In this story there are 6 angels and Lucifer is still their enemy as well as Satan. Bit of bible bashing with God saying he is always with them. The characters are all unique and we get to see the bad apple which is nearly their undoing.

It wasn’t my cup of tea in that I really thought there would be more in depth character building, or at least a stronger redemption story. Instead we have gangsta like angels and no real connection. I was getting excited with coriander but that’s about it.

This story was a bit disappointing. I expected more from angels and someone who is supposed to be gifted. Falling for an angel is fine, but falling and sleeping with said Angel the first day is a bit much. Tried to get into it, but this one was not my style.

So rushed and confusing i didn't really understand why anything was happening. The character names are ridiculous, a lot of scenarios absurd and it all ends on a cliffhanger that isn't actually explained very well.

Sorry, but I was just not that impressed with the writing. It was choppy and really distracted from the story itself. Also, the main female character was a little TOO whimsy for me. I mean, she seriously just roams aimlessly around taking everything at face value?!

Took me a while to get into this and connect to the characters.

I just couldn't fully connect to this story. I'm not sure what as wrong with it, maybe it was just me. the story line seemed a little too instant for me. I also didn't see how too new women to the group could make the angels believe them after a few days rather then their own brothers who they have been with for centuries.

This book totally rocks!!! Sexy, bad boy fallen angels, demons and love. Very well written. Each angel has their own burden to carry and Lucius is there to help resolve any conflict.
Persephone is a trusting gentle soul but her sister, Coriander has a kick butt attitude that was delightful.
The author did an amazing job with the characters and their attitudes as well as a great storyline.
I would recommend reading this book.

Gave up after struggling through a mere 7%.
Confusing plot, badly written text, so many characters thrown at you that you care about precisely none of them and nothing coherent enough to make you want to keep reading.
A shame because I liked the casting out scene right at the start.

I had mixed feelings about this book. When it first started I was really into it and totally digging the story. With Fallen Angels what's not to love? But then there was insta-love. Now hold on a second before you condemn me for this. I don't mind insta-love for the most part. But I don't like it when it happens within the first 15% of a book. And when it happens the very same day they meet. It's not like I didn't like the characters together because I do, I just wish they had to fight for it. I wanted to fight for them, to route for them. Instead I found myself not caring about them as a couple.
As far as the characters go, I was a little disappointed with all of them. I feel like she barely scratched the surface and I wished... no I wanted so much more. I so wanted to like these characters. To really connect with them, but I just couldn't do it. However, I was fascinated by Khemrhy and I really wish that Tara S. Wood had given me a little more of her.
There was a lot of mystery about this Lucius but instead of adding mystery to the story it really just left me wanting. There were so many times where I got frustrated because the story jumped without clear indication or I was left without the whole picture. I love mystery in a book, but sadly I didn't enjoy this mystery.
Now there is no denying the fact that this book is HOT, but this may have been too hot for me.
Overall the story read pretty well. It was fast paced and full of action. Tara S. Wood did a great job writing the action scenes. I really enjoyed them, they flowed and didn't remove you from the story. Instead they added to it. These Angels are warriors so it was awesome to get to really see that side of them. Tara S. Wood did a great job using humor to connect the characters and I quickly found myself loving the banter between the Angels. In fact the humor was one the things I enjoyed the most.
To sum it up... I think you should give this book a shot. Despite the things I didn't like it kept me interested and reading. This is definitely one book that you need to make the decision for yourself on. If you like smoking hawt Angels, then this is the book for you.
