DOES HEAVEN MAKE MISTAKES? A Story Of Love and Loss... In Our Own Words

Rate this book
Does Heaven make mistakes?

It’s a question I cannot answer. I don’t believe in God, the Devil, the Bible, or that mythical place supposedly guarded by impenetrable pearly gates and angels plucking harp strings while riding fluffy white clouds.

But for the sake of transferring my thoughts and feelings from jumbled mind to page, let’s assume I have faith in a place nobody has ever come back from.

That’s how I choose to think about Heaven, at least my idea of it anyway.

To believe, I have to ignore the science, just as I did when reading Harry Potter for the first time. With a mind like mine, geared towards legalities, logic, and cold hard facts, it’s quite the task.

My belief... Heaven is a creation, to ease the pain of losing a loved one.

Jenna would argue that I am blinkered, and that there is most definitely something beyond.

Madeline has her own ideas.

Who is right, and who is wrong?

Living with loss is a part of everyday life... we have all experienced it... navigating our way through it is the hard part.

Does Heaven make mistakes? Yes, No, Maybe?
I pondered this question while reading The Michaelson's true life story, tears streaming down my face, causing the words to blur.

I want to scream Yes
Becasue why should a child die before looking into her mother's eyes and hearing her speak words of love? My heart says there is no good reason, and yet, logic tells me nature knows better. Either way, it's horrible, and I wish no family would ever have to experience it.

Although difficult due to the sensitive content, I don't regret a minute spent reading Does Heaven Make Mistakes?. It is a beautiful story of grief, family unity, and undying love, and worth every tear I shed.

The Michaelsons have penned their raw emotions and perspectives from multiple family members and across generations: Mother: Jenna, Father: Zane, Grandmother: Madeline.
Each one offering their thoughts on what they believe heaven is and what faith looks like during a difficult part of their lives.

Jenna's chapters of the mother grieving and remaining strong for her family touched a place in my heart that bleeds for all women who have experienced this traumatic event.

Zane's chapters crushed me, imagining what it would be like to hold your child for the first and last time, hoping it will be enough to survive this loss.

Madeline's chapters hit home in ways I didn't imagine possible. Past events with Zane's health and now the loss of her granddaughter are reminders that life will throw curveballs at us at the worst of times.

Does Heaven Make Mistakes? read this heartbreaking story and decide for yourself.
For me, the answer remains... Yes, No, Maybe?, but knowing that if that unthinkable mistake happens, that I'm not alone might make it a little easier.

So many of us have felt the overwhelming grief and emotions that Zane, Jenna and their Family lived through while grieving the loss of their beautiful sleeping newborn baby, Bella.

This very personal memoir tells of the heartbreak, numbness, guilt and blame that Zane and Jenna as the parents to Bella, and Madeline, Bella's Grandmother, all lived through and still live through today, while trying to come to terms with the loss of their baby/grandchild that they will never get to hold or see grow up and go through all those milestones that we as parents get to treasure.

Its beautifully written, though absolutely heartbreaking to read. I hope it helps Zane, Jenna and their family to heal a little by writing this book in acknowledgement of Bella and how loved she was and how she will always be.

How can words on a page fill your heart with so much grief and pain? Zane, Jenna and Madeline have shared a piece of their hearts with such a strength that you just can't miss. Loss is always hard, but the loss this family has gone through is one of the most difficult. This story not only exposes their pain, loss and grief, but also shows the strength and love they have as a family. And while that love helps ease the pain, it can never take it away completely.

I shed many tears reading this story, yet I am so very glad that I did. It is a story that deserves to be read, not only for the small glimpse of their world, but for the honor of getting to know that special person that grabbed each of their hearts and never let go.

Tears

This was an awesome read along with the tears and my heart pounding out of my chest. When you have been where Jenna has been it brings back all the memories that I have went through and still remember to this very moment. But the question is does Heaven makes mistakes- maybe, yes, no. But I know one thing God doesn’t make mistakes. That precious baby is in the arms of her Heavenly Father just like my little girl is. Just know that this is my opinion and mine alone.
A read that will have you in tears and you won’t be able to put it down. I wish I could give this more stars. Awesome Job to Zane, Jenna and Madeline
