The Threat

Libby thought her worst nightmare was discovering her husband's a killer. She was wrong.

After Joel is arrested for the brutal murder of a local woman, Libby believes she's safe. But two of London's most feared gang bosses demand payback – and they both want her silenced.

Hunted by Franz's ruthless hitman and Voyzey's cold-blooded thugs, Libby is a target with nowhere to run. Roy, the one man offering protection, becomes her only ally. But she quickly learns that protection comes at a cost – and trusting the wrong person could prove fatal.

With the gangs at war and the body count rising, Libby isn't about to go quietly. Because in this world, survival isn't guaranteed – it's fought for.

Perfect for fans of Martina Cole and Kimberley Chambers, The Threat is hard-hitting, gripping and utterly addictive.

The Threat by Alex Rose was another excellent book written by this author, it was full of twists and turns throughout with excellent characters. Once I started to read this latest book by Alex I was Hooked and could not put it down. I loved the character Libby especially when she thought her worst nightmare was over as she discovered her husbands killer and she was safe again, only to find it wasn't.

Now, two of London's most feared gang bosses demand payback – and they both want Libby silenced. Libby has now become a target and she has nowhere to run or hide!!!

Will she survive this nightmare and the ruthless hitman and the Voyzey's cold-blooded thugs?

Now, Roy, is the only person offering protection, and becomes her only ally. Sadly, she quickly learns that protection comes at a cost. Plus, and trusting the wrong person could prove very fatal.

With the both gangs at war and the body count are rising. . . . . . Libby isn't about to go quietly. Because in this world, survival isn't guaranteed – it's fought for.

WoW! Superb. 5 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I highly recommend The Threat by Alex Rose.

Libby felt that her husband Joel was hiding something. At first, she thought he was having an affair, but she learns its far worse than that. Joel Killed a woman. Two local crime gangs are after blood as the woman was a relative of one of them. They first get to Joel and silenced him, and they think that Libby played part in the woman’s death and both gangs are out for revenge.
Libby is frightened for her life and the only person their to protect her is Joel’s friend Roy. She goes with him so he can protect her from the thugs. But little does she know he has an agenda of his own.
This is the first book from Alex Rose that I have read, and I didn’t know what to expect. But I greatly surprised, This Thriller is a full-on action-packed thriller from start to finish and lots of twists and turns and the reader will keep guessing throughout. This was so good. I highly recommend.

I really liked the premise of this book - a husband's arrest prompting his wife's discovery of his secret life, piece by ugly piece. Not only that, but she then becomes tangled up in that secret world, with all its risks.

With that plot in mind, this will never be the most realistic book you will ever read (unless your life is way more exciting than mine).  It is a great piece of escapism, although the sheer number of "baddies" Libby happens across is amazing.

If you are looking for a book with no dull moments, this will do it. Just go with the flow.

Thanks to the author and Bloodhound Books for the eARC of this book.

Wow! What an introduction to a new author. A real authentic type gangland thriller with never ending pulse racing action. Good well developed characters, a variety of rogues, foes and friends.
Poor Libby, finding out your husband was a murderer is one thing, finding out that his victims Uncle is looking for her and her husband’s dodgy employer too. Life is about to get very complicated and Libby has to look out for herself.
I had seen Alex Rose but had yet to read any books. So I’ll definitely be ordering the previous novels after reading this.

I am really conflicted about reviewing this book because I usually love Alex Rose's books but did feel this one wasn't just as good, hence the 4* rating. It took me longer to read than usual because I wasn't as invested in the book as I am normally am with Alex's writing. That being said it was still a good enjoyable book and I would still recommend it, that's why I am conflicted.

This is a fast paced thriller, centred around rival gangs in London. There are multiple characters, mostly unbelievable, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ride! It's action packed, full of twists and has everything you need in a thriller. Just suspend belief, buckle up and enjoy!

After Libby finds out her husband is a murdered . Libby phoned the police on him, thinking the nightmare is over.

Libby husband is murdered and then different gangster want to hurt Libby and her sister.

Found the story a bit far fected.. the fire, the number of people who died but Libby still alive.

I was hoping this would be a great book, but it took longer to read that usual

Libby thought her worst nightmare was discovering her husbands a killer. She was wrong the nightmare was just beginning. Hunted by two rival gang bosses who both want her silenced, and she does not know who to trust.
The synopsis and the mention of this book being for fans of Martina Cole drew me in, and it did not disappoint.
This book, which was actioned packed from the start, was well written with good development of the characters. It was fast paced and the twists kept me on the edge of my seat. I did work out one of the twists quite early on, but others came a bit unexpectedly.
This was the first time reading this author, but I will be adding Alex’s back-list to my want to read list.

My thanks to Bloodhound books for the ARC copy of this book.
