A man has been murdered, shot with a single bullet to the chest. Probably he was the casualty of an ugly bar riot earlier in the day. But there's something particularly sinister about this murder... something that makes Officer Jeff Foster's skin crawl. And he's not going to stop searching until he's found some answers.
In this mesmerizing novel full of suspense and intrigue, Steve Roos --- author of "Deep Cover --- realistically depicts one man's struggle for justice as he comes up against the shady world of organized crime.

I was searching for a book in the box under my bed when I stumbled on this and voila! an Idaho book for my 50 states challenge, plus another for the TBR challenge because I have no idea how long I've owned it. Interesting little novel. First off, it was very clean. Second, it wasn't very well-written. Third, it tried to be more than just a detective mystery and that's where it ran into trouble. The actual organized crime story was interesting but it kept getting sidetracked by domestic violence, widower's dating fear, eternal marriage fantasies, arcane banking computer details, and inane detective partners. Some serious editing by Bookcraft could have made this a good novel, instead it was just OK.
This is the sequel to Deep Cover and I would have liked it every bit as much as the first if the author had given less detail in a couple husband and wife scenes...nothing pornographic of course, but a little too much innuendo.
