We built this empire with blood and brutality. We don’t answer to anyone. We’re untouchable. Or at least, we were–until someone dug deep enough to find the secrets that could burn it all to the ground. The price of their silence? A marriage that merges their dynasty with ours.
I don’t want a wife–especially not Ani Sargsyan, the spoiled mafia princess with a sharp mouth and hatred for everything I am. I’ll do whatever it takes to protect my family and what we’ve built, even if it means putting a ring on her finger… And a leash around her throat. She doesn’t have to love me. She just has to learn how to obey—like a good little pet.
ANI
I was never supposed to be part of this deal, but my brother has other plans–trading me off like property for the sake of his ambition. I don’t want this life. I definitely don’t want him–Nikolai King. Cold-blooded, merciless, and determined to control me.
He thinks he can own me. Break me. Bend me to his rules. We clash at every turn—hate-laced kisses, brutal passion, and the kind of surrender that doesn’t come without a fight–until I’m left in the wreckage… on my knees like a good girl for Daddy.
When hate turns to heat and enemies become lovers, it won’t just be the city left in ashes.
J.L. Quick is an author of spicy, dark, contemporary (18+) romance novels and novellas. Utilizing a mixture of her life experiences and Master's degree in Psychology, she creates deep, rich characters who battle their demons while finding savage and brutal love. In her free time, she enjoys reading, food festivals, visiting distilleries, and cult-classic movies. J.L. Quick resides in the Mid-Atlantic with her husband and the pack of pitties.
A confirmed bachelor, Nikolai (Romanov) King is called up to take one for the team when Alek Sargsyan demands reparation in the form of an alliance with the Kings of New York City.
Ani Sargsyan is the prototypical mafia princess. That pampered lifestyle comes to a screeching halt when her brother wakes her in the middle of the night, forcing her onto a plane bound for Teterboro from the family estate in Armenia.
From their first hate fuck to their last, Nik is the gasoline to Ani’s matches. While neither wanted a relationship, let alone an arranged marriage, their chemistry is undeniable. Nik is all too eager to tame the brat and, although reluctantly at first, Ani is equally keen on a Daddy taking care of her.
These two are definitely my favorite couple from the series. Their relationship felt like it evolved more naturally. That said, don’t expect intense character growth or a heavily laden plot. Like the rest of the series, there’s enough to keep things interesting without verging into erotica. But make no mistake, this is a fluffy dark, smutty romance. Is fluffy dark a thing? Can we make it a thing?
Looking forward to the upcoming spinoff Dark Daddies of Delta Force series and seeing the stories for Hawk, Gunnar, Jagger, and Damon.

Every time I read a Daddy book, I’m speechless. I don’t know where to start. If I tell you two or three good moments of this book, and if you fall for Daddy — who is the boss, the Mafia boss, your brother’s best friend, the one who will protect you until death — you will want to read it, right? They start as enemies because of a forced marriage, but she, as a little brat, will learn to live as his. She might hate him, but her pussy doesn’t. He will ruin her — in every sense of the word. She can cum only when he tells her so. She will take every inch and beg him not to stop. Right now, I’m speechless. I’m 100% a little good girl for Daddy.
Do I need a therapist? Of course not. Do I need another book from J.L. Quick with Daddy issues? Of course yes.
Each and every time I’ve read the next King of New York MMC I’m like yep that’s my favorite… and then this Author is like… challenge accepted!
Seriously I’ve loved them all… but Nikolai… there’s just something about the bachelor of all bachelors… the ultimate playboy…and watching him be brought to his knees.
If there’s one thing I adore almost as much as these ruthless Kings of New York… it’s their feisty and equally as ruthless woman.
This FMC, she’s a total princess with a crown made of thorns, she’s a total baddie and she brings this king to his knees… but believe me he’s perfectly happy there worshiping her.
These two are like fire and gasoline… and it’s glorious.
Their banter is their foreplay. And yet they also share some of the sweetest moments.
There’s so much suspense to go with the spice…it’s incredible!
It’s a beautiful ending to this series and yet gives us a peek of what’s to come next… and we know for sure it’s going to be absolutely incredible!
What a perfect conclusion to the Dark Daddies of New York series!
THOUGHTS 💭 🖤 Ani is sassy and strong; she’s a perfect (albeit unwilling) partner for Nik. 🖤 Nik and Ani’s dislike-fueled banter was amazing and you could tell, despite their circumstance, that they can’t help but be into each other. 🖤 The angry hate to love vibe between these two did it for me! The spice was SPICIN’ and I loved watching their relationship turn to something more. Ani is so bratty and I loved watching Nik tame her. 🖤 We love a protective, possessive MMC who would burn the world down for his woman. In addition to protective and possessive, Nik is a surprisingly sweet MMC! 🖤 I have a few favorite dark daddy. 🫠
Thanks so much to JL Quick for the ARC of this book!
Kneeling for Daddy is a dark mafia enemies to lovers romance. Oh my, this story was literal smut heaven! Every detail of the spicy moments was intense and panty soaking delicious! I was glued to my ear phones to the very end! Not only was the spice on point, but the banter had me cracking up non-stop. Ani is a smart mouth firecracker that loves to push Nikola’s buttons and man she is lethal with her words! Nikola is dangerous, powerful, ruthless, and sinful. This man knows how to please a woman from top to bottom and will have you panting in seconds!
Do you love… ❥Enemies to lovers ❥Mafia romance ❥She calls him Daddy ❥He wants her to wear his leash ❥Suspense ❥She loves his punishment ❥”My Wife” ❥Touch her and 💀
Nikolai and Ani may have been my favorite in this series! I loved the tension and instant chemistry with these two. Nik was the perfect mix of hard and soft (only for Ani) and Ani was the perfect match to his personality. I wasn’t sure what to expect with their relationship or Ani’s brother after the way book two left us but I loved it all! I am so excited for the next series and for Hawk!

BEST OF THE SERIES! OH SO DELICIOUS and a great finale. This installment centers on Nikolai King, the last unattached member of New York’s ruling mafia trio, who is volunteered to secure a political alliance the old fashioned way. Marriage. Ani Sargsyan, an Armenian mafia princess raised in privilege and distance from the family business, finds her life upended overnight when she is sent across the world to fulfill that arrangement. Neither of them wants this union, and that resistance becomes the spark that drives the story.
From their first confrontation, Nik and Ani collide head on. Their dynamic is combustible, fueled by sharp banter, clashing wills, and an attraction neither is eager to acknowledge. Ani is fiery, stubborn, and far more formidable than her upbringing suggests. Nik is controlled, calculating, and used to bending others to his authority. Watching him meet his match in Ani is one of the novel’s greatest pleasures. She challenges him at every turn, and instead of breaking her spirit, he finds himself drawn to her strength.
What sets this couple apart from others in the series is how naturally their relationship evolves within the chaos of their circumstances. There is no sweeping transformation or heavy emotional introspection, but there is steady movement from hostility to trust, and from obligation to genuine attachment. So the romantic pace feels the most authentic and well paced in this installment. The story balances suspense and romance without becoming overly dense, keeping the pacing tight and engaging while letting the chemistry take center stage.
Ani is my favorite heroine of the series. She may be labeled a princess, but there is nothing delicate about her. She is sharp tongued, resilient, and unwilling to be reduced to a bargaining chip. Nik, for all his ruthlessness, reveals a surprisingly attentive and protective side once his feelings take root. Their relationship thrives on contrast: power and defiance, control and surrender, conflict softened by moments of unexpected tenderness.
This is great on it's own but also great way to wind down the series and set up what's to come. JL delivers the familiar intensity and danger readers expect, while also offering a glimpse of what may come next. The combination of high stakes, compelling characters, and charged emotional energy makes this a satisfying and memorable conclusion.
The audio is so good. I make no secret about my undying love for Sean Masters, and he's perfectly cast here. He has all of Nik's feral intensity and stoic edge. He's dominant and powerful in his performance, but still compelling and magnetic. Dark and possessive is Sean Master's forte, and he oozes delicious dark charisma here. River Dorian is also fantastic as Ari. She's got all of her sass and strength but with amble gentleness and tenderness in the performance too. The vocal chemistry between these two is the best part. They bring the tension to life beautifully, all of that sizzle. Highly recommend the audio, the performances elevate the story to new levels.
Dark romance rooted in power struggles, forced proximity, and enemies slowly giving way to something deeper. This story delivers it all with confidence. And it's addictive. Nik and Ani are volatile, captivating, and impossible to look away from, a fitting pairing for a world built on loyalty, dominance, and desire.

I hope you like ghost peppers because this audiobook is hot 🔥
NIKOLAI, a Bratva mafia King in NY, has made a name for himself alongside his found family of Mafia Kings for the Irish and Italian mob. This trio is taking over from their fathers when they take the business too far. But when another Mafia King wants to join in their motley crue, he convinces them with something they are well known for. Blackmail Since Nik is the only one of the group still single, he was chosen to be the next King to get hitched (not willingly). Marry the spoiled, bratty Arminian mafia princess to join the families together, or he turns in enough evidence to put them all in jail for a very long time. What can Nik do? Welcome to the family.
ANI was never part of “the family business,” but when her father was killed, and now her brother had to run it, he couldn’t keep an eye on her anymore, and she was a handful. He can’t take the chance that someone will grab her, so the next best thing to strengthen his business AND protect her is to pawn her off on the NY bratva Niolai King. She doesn’t believe he can break her like one of his normal women, and she plans to be so bad that he will ship her back home before she knows it.
When her bratty demeanor does nothing to shake him, he puts her in her place, enjoying the challenge she gives him. He actually likes punishing her when she is being bad, and she seems to enjoy it too. When a rival Mafia isn’t happy with how the kings are trying to run the businesses, they go on the attack, and when they go after Nik’s new wife, it means war. She is his, and no one is going to harm her, was Nikolai King’s.
This was a super spicy, addictive audiobook, and I couldn’t stop listening to it. I am a huge fan of Sean’s voice acting, so when this ALC was offered, I jumped on it. So good
Thank you to Bluenose audio for the advanced ALC of this book in exchange for an honest review
This book is a ruthless, intoxicating ride from start to finish. Nikolai and Ani deliver the kind of enemies-to-lovers chemistry that crackles like a live wire—violent, magnetic, and impossible to pull away from.
Nikolai is the embodiment of a cold-blooded kingpin: lethal, disciplined, and completely unwilling to bend to anyone… until a forced marriage threatens to upend everything he’s fought for. Ani is his perfect opposite—fiery, furious, and refusing to be treated like the pawn her family tries to make her. Their clash is explosive. Every argument feels like foreplay, every moment a battle for control neither of them truly wins.
What makes this story shine is the balance between brutality and vulnerability. The tension is sharp enough to cut, the heat is feral, and the emotional unraveling hits just as hard as the darker elements. Watching hate warp into obsession—and obsession into something dangerously close to love—is addictive in the best way.
Violent, passionate, and wickedly compelling, this is the kind of dark romance that sinks its teeth in and refuses to let go. If you crave forced marriage, power plays, degrading endearments, and a heroine who refuses to break even as she falls—this book delivers it all.
River Dorian brings Ani to life with the perfect blend of fire and vulnerability. Her sharp edges, her defiance, her fear, her desire—you feel every single note. She captures Ani’s strength so vividly that every time she pushes back against Nikolai, it lands with real force.
Sean Masters is an absolute force as Nikolai. He nails the cold command, the lethal calm, and the dangerous dominance that defines him. His voice alone feels like a threat, a promise, and a temptation all at once. When he slips into that controlled, possessive tone? Goosebumps.
Together, their chemistry is electric. Every argument sizzles, every heated moment ignites, and every shift from hatred to obsession feels raw and intimate in a way only this duo could pull off. They don’t just read the story—they inhabit it, dragging you straight into the fire with them.
I truly loved the brat/daddy dynamic even if I’m not a fan of the degradation kink, it was written super nicely and you could easily tell that both characters were into everything they were doing.
Ani was a fighter and a mouthy brat, which I loved. She always folded for him, but she made him fight for it and earned her submission. Seeing her accept her feelings not only for Nik, but also for her new life was great. And the fact that her brother wasn’t too bad of an ass in the end helped me like this story more.
Nik was the daddiest daddy. He was mean and gruff but so obsessed and possessive he couldn’t handle one day without calling her “my wife” ever since the papers were signed. Since he saw her, he was done for, Ani had him and she (and him lol) didn’t understand how deeply in love they were for a minute. It was so fun seeing them fight it out and go crazy with want until they finally gave in.
The plot was wrapped up nicely, even if I missed some kind of resolution to the FBI stuff, I liked the fact that Alek was not just a name but an active part of the group and that Ani and Nik actually made me feel like they were in love and not just lust.
Towards the end, it dragged. I wasn’t mad at the extra epilogues and stuff, but the plot was done and we got like 4-5 more chapters of pure smut that were just not needed. That and that one sexual moment is making me lower my rating.
Thank you J.L. Quick for the e-arc!!
Quotes:
"Ani, you infuriate me more than anyone I have ever met. You crawl under my skin in ways I didn't think possible. But you are my wife. You are mine. Do you hear me?"
Staring up at him, I don't see the man I hate. I see my protector... my addiction. And, God help me, I see my ruin.
Three weeks. That's all it's been. Three fucking weeks. And some-how, she's the only thing in this world that feels certain.
Kings never had quiet moments. From one problem, another one would come. Nikolai’s world was shaken when Alek entered their lives and made a proposition — he would unravel their secrets in exchange for the King’s share of power and a marriage to his sister, Ani. Given the complication of Nikolai wanting to remain a lifelong bachelor and having to deal with Ani’s bratty attitude, how will these two live together as husband and wife?
Have you ever come across a series where you immediately knew who your most awaited and favorite character would be? From Book 1, I already knew Nik would be my favorite. He has that perfect mix of angst and seriousness compared to his two other brothers. And adding Ani into his story giives more flavor to his character.
Kneeling to Daddy introduces readers to a more complex Mafia world. As their empire expands, new enemies arise. This also develops their relationship with their former rivals, the Armenians — Ani’s family. It’s a trope of enemies to lovers, not only in romance but also in alliance. It gives a strong plot for conflict and connects well to the events from Books 1 and 2.
I love how the characters show that push and pull dynamic. They resist each other’s presence, yet they can’t deny the attraction and the instant lust. The spicy scenes manifest how they give in to their desires. JL clearly stated the tropes and trigger warnings for this story, and the intimate moments are too hot to handle. Ani’s bratty attitude truly deserves some spanking, figuratively and literally.
Interestingly, I also love how Alek was written and introduced into the Kings’ brotherhood. I hope there will be a spin-off or a separate story for him.
This novel also introduces a new series featuring their four security men. I’m looking forward to seeing how these four will make their claim, submit, and kneel to them.
This is the third and final book in this series and it did not disappoint! I loved Nik and Ani so much! The brat/daddy dynamic was so good!
The Kings are blackmailed by an Armanian mobster Alek Sargsyan. Alek knows that the Kings killed their fathers along with Aleks to stop a human trafficking deal from going down. Alek has everything he needs to bring the Kings down, but he doesn't want that. Instead, he wants to become partners with them and be apart of their empire. He also wants Nikolai to marry his sister Ani.
Nik has always been a bachelor and had planned on always being one. Nik tries to fight this marriage, but at the end of the day, he knows it is the only way to protect his family. Nik is not sure what to expect from his future wife, but when he lays eyes on Ani, she ends up being everything that he wasn't expecting.
I absolutely ate this book up! I loved how Ani got under Niks skin and gave him a run for his money. Their text messages had me FERAL. I love a good brat/brat tamer dynamic and these two did not disappoint!
The narrators were so freaking good together. Sean Masters (a favorite of mine) and River Dorian were such a great pairing! They made the experience that much better!
I loved watching both of them go into this arrangement, not wanting it and by the end, they couldn't get enough of each other!
I also loved how much of a jokester Nik is and the banter between these two was so good! I also love a man with a filthy mouth and Nik definitely did not disappoint with his!

Quote to remember: “Daddy will teach you how to behave.” 👀 😳
Non-Spoiler Audiobook Review 🎧 *Clears throat and fans face* Kneeling for Daddy was much more than I expected. More plot. More spice. More humor. More… everything. This is my first book by JL Quick and I devoured it. I could not stop giggling, swooning, or blushing. The banter and antics between the FMC, Ani and the MMC, Nikolai… chef’s kiss baby! The daddy trope? Not normally a go-to for me, but HELLO! Daddy Nik has changed my mind on that. So many YES’s!
Without spoilers, Ani is forced to leave her country and married off to a man she’s never met. That man just so happens to be, Nikolai, a mafia leader. Nik is possessive, charming, sexy as sin, and demands control in all things. On the flip side, Ani is quick witted, beautiful, charismatic and can give just as much as she can take. Moving very quickly, the spice gets SPICY and never really waivers 🥵
Sean Masters once again gave a remarkable performance with his deep, authoritative tone. He lent the perfect voice to the grumpy, but protective Nik. River Dorian was a new to me narrator, but she was just as incredible voicing Sweet Ani. Her performance was beautiful and captivating. Her smart mouth and quick wit were everything… making me adore her character. These voice actors were a great duo, creating the voices and setting the scenes from each page.
KFD is technically book 3 in the series, BUT it can be read as a standalone, although now I’m going back to read the other two. I cannot recommend this one enough.
✨ARC Review✨ This is the third book in the Dark Daddies of NY series, and with the way book two dropped a bomb at the end I knew this one would be good. Nikolai is forced into marrying Ani, the sister of the now head of the Armenian Mafia, Alek. When the Kings all killed their fathers at the same time, they also killed Alek and Ani’s father for trying to collaborate on trafficking girls. Now that Alek has taken over his father’s position he wants to clean house, change things and become a part of the Kings. He had plenty of blackmail to entice them.
Nik and Ani’s less than enthusiastic wedding vows are said in front of a judge barely 24 hours later. It takes awhile for Nik and Ani to find their footing with each other, and while they’re figuring it out things between them are explosive 😉 It doesn’t take them long to realize that the forced marriage might have been the best thing to happen to them.
In the meantime, there is unrest with the Armenians. Not everyone is happy that the old ways are changing and they are starting to challenge authority. Alek can’t be seen as weak, none of the Kings can afford to be, but Ani is connected to both Nik and Alek so she is very much a target. So the questions become: does Nik and Ani’s marriage go from being forced to welcomed? Will the Kings be able to root out the problem before anything happens to Ani? Be a good girl and kneel for daddy to find out! #arranged/forcedmarriage #forcedproximity #mafiaromance #agegap #foundfamily #enemiestolovers #daddykink #petplay #touchheranddie #darkdaddiesofny
I received the ALC from Blue Nose, and this duet narration by Sean Masters and River Dorian blew me away. The chemistry, emotion, and heat they brought to this story were unreal — truly one of the strongest duet performances I’ve heard.
This book follows Nikolai Romanov — the man who swore he’d never marry — until a threat against his family forces him into an arranged marriage with Ani, the outspoken, bratty sister of the man blackmailing them. Ani arrives in New York with no warning, and the explosive tension between them starts instantly.
Tropes you’ll find: 🖤Arranged/forced marriage ❤️Mafia romance 🖤Enemies to lovers ❤️Forced proximity 🖤Age gap ❤️Brat × Daddy dynamic 🖤Brat taming ❤️Pet play elements 🖤Protective, possessive MMC ❤️Touch her and die
Ani is the perfect brat — feisty, stubborn, and constantly pushing back — and Nikolai meets every bit of her attitude with control and a protectiveness that made him irresistible. Their chemistry sizzles from the start, and when it finally ignites? 🥵
The spice is HOT 🔥🔥 Like, pause-the-audiobook-and-grab-a-🍆 hot. The dominance, the praise, the banter! If you have a good girl/daddy kink.. read this now, thank me later 😏
What I loved most, though, is that the heat never overshadows the heart. The danger surrounding them, the growing loyalty, the way their forced marriage slowly becomes something deeper — it all ties together perfectly.
If you want mafia tension, thrilling aspects, and spice that actually adds to the story, this one is a must-read.
Holy smokes, I’ve been waiting for our favorite "forever bachelor," Nikolai, to be tamed, and Kneel for Daddy absolutely FREAKING DELIVERED! This book is the explosive, steamy finale the Dark Daddies of New York series deserved, and honestly, it might be my favorite yet!
Nikolai is convinced he’s a lifelong bachelor, the serious, angsty King—until a forced marriage lands him with Ani, the Armenian mafia princess who is the biggest, sassiest brat he’s ever met. Their setup is hilarious, but the tension? Pure fire. This isn't just an enemies-to-lovers romance; it's a battle of wills, a power struggle, and the most delicious form of chaos.
You need to know that Ani is the perfect brat for Daddy Nik. She challenges him, keeps him on his toes, and makes him see there’s more to life than his work. And when Nik decides it's time to "handle" her—figuratively and literally—the spice becomes filthy, explosive, and ridiculously hot. The Daddy kink is strong, the banter is hilarious, and I swooned over him calling her "Pet."
J.L. Quick nailed the balance: they start with absolute hate sex and a push-and-pull dynamic, but under all the dominance and brat-taming, their love story shines. Watching them fall for each other, fiercely protective and perfectly matched, made me cry (that epilogue! 😭).
If you crave dark romance with:
👑 A Daddy King who is lethal inside and outside the bedroom.
😂 Hilarious banter and a compelling mafia alliance plot.
...then stop what you're doing and pick up Kneel for Daddy (and maybe prepare for the upcoming Delta Force Daddies spin-off!). You won't regret kneeling for this one!
🖤mafia romance 🖤pet play 🖤enemies to lovers 🖤forced proximity 🖤brat taming 🖤arranged/forced marriage 🖤age gap 🖤daddy kink
Absolute perfection! Kneeling For Daddy (KFD) by J.L. Quick is the last book in the Dark Daddies of New York Series and features Nikolai and Ani’s story.
I’ve been waiting for our favorite “forever bachelor “ Nik to be tamed and boy did this book freaking deliver. The whole set up of this marriage coupled with Nik and Ani’s reactions were absolutely hilarious. Ani was a perfect brat for Daddy Nik. I actually ended up really loving her character. Past the brattiness she was so sweet. Not only was she perfect for Nik but I thought she fit in perfect with the whole family.
Nik was so sweet to Ani throughout this book…he definitely had me swooning. The way he went the extra mile for her when she was missing home? That might be my favorite spot in the whole book. The action and spice went above and beyond in KFD. J.L. definitely delivers on the Daddy kink. These two were explosive together! Loved all the spicy scenes. Honestly there wasn’t a part in this book I didn’t love and I could go on and on but I won’t spoil the fun. I’ll just say this book is not to be missed and the epilogue? Tears. I loved it so much!
📚📚📚 Okay Nik I am obsessed with you!! This book I absolutely binged in one sitting and so quickly because dang I couldn’t get enough. Ani though omg I loved her as our FMC! That woman and her bratty mouth had me giggling hard so many times. These two together were just absolute perfection! Once they realized they loved each other… I had all the butterflies. But it wouldn’t be a J L Quick book without making me absolutely hold my breath for a chapter or two because of the suspense. This one completely had one of those moments! I highly recommend adding this to your tbr! Already counting down until the next book!!

QOTD✨what’s a series you’re reading at the moment? Or what’s a series you’re always recommending?
J.L Quick has done it again. The third book in the Dark Daddies of New York series, Kneeling for Daddy is a 5-star deliciously spicy book. Daddy Nikolai is my favorite Dark Daddy, and that he will burn the world down for his wife and ruin anyone who comes for his family. I love how seamlessly this series fits together and how in every way this "family" was brought together to defy the way things used to be run. The Dark Daddies take the world they were born into and flip it on its head and make it work for them. Nikolai the MMC and the forever bachelor of the three Daddies, finds himself in a situation he never expected to protect the family that he never knew he had or wanted. Not even Nik could have seen where the twists and turns of family would take him. Ani, our FMC, and Alek's sister, found herself in a situation that called her to help her family in a way that she never expected and would have done anything to run away from. If you love a good enemies to lovers, touch her and die, and found family, with mafia life, then you will get on your knees like a good little pet for Kneeling for Daddy. This is an interconnected series, you really cannot read this one without first reading, Submitting to Daddy, then Claimed By Daddy, and finally Kneeling for Daddy. Run to put this on your TBR, you can thank me later. Happy Reading! ☺️
Nikola was one of my favourite male main character because of his grumpiness and how it always came to end with Ani! I loved how always had his back and knew how to make it a change for him to be with. I was so loving his character and how gentle and caring he was of Ani. I loved his character also because he always had Ani’s back and doing the right things to make her happy.
I was so glad to read this story because I have been loving this series so far and I am sad this came to end but I can’t wait read about in the next series. I adored this series because of one reason entirely and it was because of the love between each character and how they both resembled each other energy and connects with each other.
Ani, was an inspiration to all and I thought her character was the best because she always knew how to ruffle Nikola’s feathers and spending the moments and time to communicate at times when they were both struggling. I was really glad they both stood by each other and knew how to trust each other in the end was a connection that was beautiful and so touching. The spice scenes was so good and I rated this book 5 stars because the it was spicy and had a good plot.
Buckle up, because Nikolai and Ani’s story is a volatile, sinful masterpiece of enemies-to-lovers tension. What starts as a forced marriage built on secrets, power, and bloodlines quickly spirals into an intoxicating storm of banter, passion, and surrender.
Nikolai King is the embodiment of control—cold, commanding, and utterly ruthless when it comes to protecting his empire. Ani Sargsyan is his perfect opposite—defiant, sharp-tongued, and unwilling to bow to anyone, least of all him. Their connection crackles with electricity from the very first page. Her brattiness fuels him. His dominance undoes her. Together, they burn.
One of the most refreshing parts of this book is the banter—witty, biting, and effortlessly hilarious. Nik and Ani don’t just clash; they spark. And the brotherhood between Nik, Enzo, and Cillian adds so much heart—these men truly redefine the phrase family by choice.
J.L. Quick delivers a dark, addictive romance full of tension, heat, and unexpected tenderness. Kneeling for Daddy is a breathtaking blend of power, passion, and devotion—proof that sometimes love doesn’t begin with a kiss… it begins with a fight.
I had the privilege of receiving a free ARC of this book and this review is only my opinion.
Kneeling For Daddy book 3 of of the Dark Daddies of New York Series left me speechless. Nikolai Romanov King has always said he would never marry, but that all changed when his family's future and the empire that built was put in jeopardy.
The man Eavan was promised to, Alek Sargsyan, gives Nikolai and his brothers a choice, either marry his twin sister Ani and make him part of their empire or he turns in evidence that would put them in prision for a long time.
Ani is bratty, spoiled, talks back. She is not informed of her brothers plans until she arrives to New York. He threatens to cut her off financially if she doesn't agree to the marriage.
She is the perfect challenge that Nikolai needs and wants. She fights him every chance she gets, defying him, and not backing down. Nikolai has a way to get her to submit and when she does, he loves to praise her.
Danger comes after Ani, from those who do not like Alek's new way of running business, its too clean for them. Nikolai stops at nothing to make sure his wife will stay safe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️++
Desires, pet play, brat tamming at it's finest and he has her call him daddy. Nikolai is the Daddy of all Daddies. He gives her what she needs and she is his weakness. 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
Kneeling for Daddy by J.L Quick coming October 17th!
J.L the woman that you arrrrre! As always the book was perfection!
Nik our perpetual bachelor is thrown into an arranged marriage to help keep not only himself but his family safe, and sure maybe he sits there the whole time trying to convince himself that his soon to be bride will be horrid and terrible....all to walk in and see our beautiful girl Ani!
When Ani's brother wakes her up and forces her on a plane the last thing she's ready for is to be forced into an arranged marriage to Nik, whose reputation is well known not only for being a perpetual bachelor but also for his violence!
Nik and Anis love story is full of banter and chaotic energy, they're two people at each other's throats but it all leads to steamy hot daddy filled smut!! Watching them both slowly realize that they're in love with each other was one of my favorite parts of this story, cause it was just this "oh shit" moment for both of them.
This story was a beautiful perfect wrap up to the series, even though I'm sad to see it end, I'm so excited to see what J.L does next!
Nikolai always imagined he’d be a bachelor for life. Never having any interest in more than a casual hookup, he never saw himself settling down. So when a rival comes to him with a proposal, either he marries the Albanian’s sister, or the Albanian will share a file he’s compiled with every misdeed the Kings have committed in the past few years. The last person he wants to have to settle down with is a bratty mafia princess.
Ani thought when her father was killed that she’d finally have some freedom, until her brother announced that she was going to have to marry the remaining single member of the Kings. Cold and ruthless, he immediately tries to control her and make her submit to his rules, but she refuses to bend so easily. But when hate turns to passion, everything changes.
I received an early copy of this book and enjoyed it. Seeing Ani holding her own against Nik and watching the pair go from hatred and disdain to passion and love was so much fun. When enemies start coming out of the woodwork, Nikolai proves that nothing will put his wife in danger, and that alpha energy just came off the page.
This book definitely did not disappoint!! I have been looking for Nickolas book and it did not disappoint!! Nick was everything I needed and more to wrap up this series! As sad as I am that this series is over I so excited for what is next.

The kings have just been blackmailed by Alek Sargsyan. He has all the dirt that he needs to bring the kings down. But that’s not what Alek wants. He wants his sister Ani to get married to Nikolai Romanov. Nick tries to fight it but at the end of the day this is the only way to keep him and his brothers out of prison. Nikolai has no idea what his future wife will look like. But when Nick lays eyes on Ani she is everything he was not expecting.
I have loved every book in this series and Nikolai was amazing! I love how Ani gets under his skin and gives him a run for his money. I love Ani smart mouth and wit and how she is everything Nikolai needs in a woman.
*** I want to thank J.L. Quick for giving me the chance to read Kneeling for Daddy as an ARC. In exchange for my honest review and thoughts.****
I really loved the conclusion to this series. Nikolai and Ani were fantastic. The tension and the push and pull dynamic between them was chefs kiss. Ani was not some meek or mild mannered Mafia Princess. She had bite and she made sure Nikolai knew she was not some pushover. She was submissive and his little pet in the bedroom but in all other areas she proved that she was not some spoiled little mafia princess and he wouldn't have it any other way. Nikolai is your alpha male with of course the red flags that we love so much. He is arranged to marri Ani to keep the families secrets. He is not thrilled at first and lets it be known. He falls in line and does his duty. He never expects to find the other half of his soul. They are like a perfect puzzle that just needed to find its missing piece. I absolutely love the daddy/little pet dynamic between these characters. This author does such a fantastic job at writing tabooish stories. I have always loved reading the daddy/little girl and daddy/little pet dynamics. This story ticks all my boxes. If you like a good daddy book then this series and this author is a must read.
Okay, so Kneeling for Daddy by J.L. Quick was a ride. I picked it up expecting a quick spicy read, and then suddenly I’m sitting here like, “Oh… we’re really doing this.” The tension is wild, the power dynamics are messy, and Nikolai is the kind of unhinged, possessive disaster you cannot look away from.
Ani? She’s in way over her head, but in that chaotic way that keeps you turning pages. And the chemistry between them? Absolutely feral. I had to pause more than once because the heat level gets that intense.
Is it toxic? Yeah. Did I eat it up anyway? Absolutely.
Sean Masters as Nikolai? Phenomenal. He nails that dark, commanding, morally gray energy without ever sounding forced. His performance adds so much weight and tension, every possessive line hits even harder.
River Dorian as the FMC brings the perfect balance of softness, vulnerability, and heat. She makes the character feel grounded despite the chaos happening around her. Together, their voices have that addictive push and pull that takes the whole experience up a level.
If you’re an audiobook lover, this duo delivers. Hard.
Another amazing book in a series I have loved!!! Every book has been great, the intertwined plot between each has been 👌 and the characters are spot on.
For me, this has been my favourite of the three but it was a close race. It’s like for every book, @jlquickwrites can’t help turning the dial up just a little more. This plot is belting throughout the series and book 3 is not different, all the same found family vibes but high on the tension wort mafia arrangements.
Nikolai and Ani as the lead characters were perfect for me. Ani an absolute live wire, pushing all the buttons, determined, strong and with sarcasm that lasts for days. I adored her!!! Nikolai super brooding, super grumpy and the epitome of a DADDY!!!! The fireworks between the two are great and the spice is 🥵.
An excellent series, totally recommend. Basically get off Instagram and pick it up!!!! Thank you for the arc @jlquickwrites - I am now counting down the days until Hawk and dreaming of mafia kings!!
