WHY THE FUCK DOES HADLEY HAVE TO BE SUCH A HYPOCRITE? She keeps criticizing the others for having a crush on the 4 guys and the women for being attracted to them when it's the same for her. Literally, in the few pages I've been, I've read like 6 times that Hadley gets wet just by looking at them (seriously, the author is writing me that a woman gets wet just by looking at good looking men). And are you seriously telling me that ALL women are fine with being used for a month and that no one else besides the protagonist is disgusted and outraged by it? Right, because our protagonist is the only one in the world and the only one with dignity and the rest of the women are not. So far I haven't found the strong protagonist I was promised in the reviews.
I don't know, I just don't find Hadley appealing at all. I got to page 123 and couldn't go on. I don't know what they see in this book that has such high ratings but I just didn't find the appeal.
Maybe I'll pick it up later, but for now it's a big no-no.

I know, I know, I said I wasn't going to finish the book but I was overcome with curiosity and I can say I wasn't wrong in my review. This book is...a s*t.... I mean, it's decently written but it's really dumb.
First, seriously, I don't know where Hadley is a total ass-kicker, throughout the whole book she keeps getting wet with all the guys plain and simple because of her presence. She wants to show a facade of I don't give a sh*t about guys but she's just as bad or worse than the other girls, since at least the other girls don't hide their intentions with them or feign an indifference they don't feel, instead Hadley is judging and insulting women for getting trampled and being attracted to Pricks, when, hello, you're the same way just pretending you're not interested in them (it's super hypocritical).
And don't even get me started on revenge against guys - you sneak into their dorm rooms and move their stuff around? What are you, 12 years old? The only good thing he did was kick Mason and Hawk's asses.
And don't get me started on the stereotypes. Because, oh my god, why are all the rich girls shallow and all the scholarship girls humble. Because no one in that school has the balls to stand up to the Princes, because they all bow their heads to their humiliations, because they all fit that prefabricated mold of "I'm rich and therefore, I'm not human, I'm not humble, I have no character, I'm shallow" all but our protagonist and our harem boys. WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY! Give me nuance, give me realism, don't lump them all into the same mold.
Look, I get that they're the main characters and obviously their personalities should be the focus, but don't put all the women in me as Mean Girls, and don't put all the other people in me as manipulable. That's not real. And don't judge everyone for being rich, don't assume their problems aren't important just because they have money. DON'T BE A SHALLOW, SELF-CENTERED BITCH.
And don't get me started on Cam. dude, get over it, he rejected you, take it like a man, pull up your pants and move on. Don't retaliate with something as personal as exposing scars you don't know how they were made to humiliate the girl who rejected you. FUCKING TALK TO HER. YOU'RE 18 FUCKING YEARS OLD, NOT 10. Why doesn't anyone talk or ask questions in this book before assuming? *exasperated*.
And Beck. Fucking. Beck. He's supposed to be a counselor, but all he does is criticize other students' problems? No fucking school counselor would belittle other people's problems as unimportant, but this one does it like that's his job (what a shitty job you're doing). A counselor has no right to criticize or judge, that's not professional ethics. But obviously, the protagonist's problems are the only different ones, because "hello, center of the universe". And his relationship with Hadley was supremely superficial, instalove and with abuse of power. Gross.
And the supposed plot twists. I already knew Hadley is not what she appeared to be. Because I've read books like this before and they have the same pattern with the narrative. (In fact, it reminds me of perfectos mentirosos, a Spanish language book out of Wattpad).
Enough already. Enough of this bullshit. I don't understand your extremely high ratings of the book. It's just bad, pathetic and cliché.

Okay! Well, that was different! I heard it was, but halfway through, I thought that was bullshit lol and this was going to be a basic bully romance. I'm happy I was wrong! The author threw in some surprises, and I can't wait to see how many more she throws our way in the books to come!

Wow, this book was SO good! R.A. Smyth came out swinging and held nothing back. She wrote a thrilling and twisty first book in the new Pacific Prep series.
I was instantly hooked and couldn't stop reading. There were tons going in the book - both with the characters and storyline. My head was spinning and I was so shocked my mouth fell open at times. Book whiplash at it's finest!! I will stay on this ride for as long as takes. Sign me up!
Hadley didn't have the best life while growing up, but she was excited that it might be turning around for the good with her acceptance to a prestigious institution. Only the cream of the crop attended along with only a handful of scholarship kids. That's what she was. One of the others hoping to just go with the flow and not be noticed... too much!
Didn't quite go as planned. She was noticed. She made them intrigued. They were in awe of her and the flippant attitude she had. She was nothing like what they've seen in the past. All the students were enamored.
Now, those Princes took extra notice. The 4 boys who rule the school. For generations and generations. The others fall in line or are made an example of. What they say is set in stone. No telling them "NO".
Hawk, West, Mason and Cam. All intriguing and mysterious in their own way.
Hawk is full of darkness and beyond broody. Give that hottie some chocolate!
West is the quiet, nerdy one who has darkness inside him that he doesn't always allow to show.
Mason is the one who is always watching and observing others and his surroundings.
Cam is the sexy, flirty one. He wants what he wants and if that doesn't happen... he will turn on you.
The Princes and Hadley's story is complex and dark. She is a phoenix though and will fight back against the guys every step of the way. She refuses to give over completely control and they aren't used to that.
I loved the extra male addition to the story! Bring it on!
That cliffhanger though... Holy heck!! The twists and turns just keep on coming.
I'm excited to see what will happen with them all in book 2!!

I no longer trust that I can correctly guess who will be a great couple in a book. One plot twist threw me for a loop and made me feel a little bit sick that I had shipped two characters together. That ship crashed and burned 🚢⚓🧨
⚠️This review is one big spoiler because I need to explain the 2 stars, so if you want to read this series maybe stop here😅
I felt like the plot kept taking weird turns and yes I was constantly surprised, but it wasn't necessarily in a positive way. Some of the plot twists didn't seem to make sense at all. Let me start with the ‘ship’ that should NEVER have set sail in my mind.
So I thought the author was trying to build this enemies-to-lovers relationship with one of the MMCs. It's a bully romance so it isn't surprising I had this thought. I thought there was sexual tension and ultimately all this animosity would come to a high point when they finally got together. HOW WRONG I WAS!!! 🫣
I'm not trying to ruin the plot twist, but all I will say is legally it would be frowned upon for them to get together. Also biologically they could never reproduce (well I guess they could, but again it would be frowned upon medically). I will leave it there.
Maybe this is my fault and I read the situation completely wrong. I've read a lot of RH (god I've read a lot) and maybe I just expected everyone to be in it. I've also read Turmoil which follows a similar plot (not a RH) and I never thought that regarding those characters. Very good book.
Another point would be the counsellor. I got creepy vibes from him. I understand she was 18, so this relationship was frowned upon a bit less, but this man had no reservations whatsoever, in any shape or form about sleeping with a student. He was completely in and that was weird to me. There was no push or pull.
The notebook. Why, just why? It came out of nowhere. It would have been interesting if we were in the know about it, but it was just shared and she was like ‘Oh yeah I have a burn book’.
The FMC was just a massive conundrum to me. Not in like an illusive, sexy way, but in a way that makes you aware that she was also highly confused about what was happening. Her choices were very questionable and hypocritical, frequently not following through with what she said. I mean when you lose all your friends and wish revenge on the people that did it, you don't make out with them two minutes later. I understand it's a bully romance, but usually, they have to build back trust. She just forgives them on a whim and forgets about everything.
I have also read a bit of half of book 2, to see what happened after the cliffhanger, but I am well and truly done now.

10 "Prince Pricks" Stars⭐
A High-school Bully (Dark) Reverse-Harem romance that is my day's spotlight & fully consumed me!! It's not only Bully, but a few other genres thrown in for fun😉.
A Heart-pounding, Sexy & emotional story with Tragic Past(s), Suspense, Darkness, Engaging story line, Kicking ass, Defiance (& Bully😅), Surprising Twists & Turns, New relations, Truths, So much still to uncover...All leading to a Wtf?! Cliffhanger, Like omg!! I can't wait for the next one!!
This story was my 1st by Smyth & I'm hooked! It made me go through a variety of emotions. It was difficult to write this review, so I waited & now it's here! I was just so angry at the guys 👿😂. Beck's the best for me right now, but all the MCs (18+) are shrouded in mystery, had hard pasts. This story is Totally Kick-ass, has Easter eggs & I #HighlyRecommended it!
🔥Hadley; Smart, Skilled fighter, Resilient, Confident, Rebel, Caring; had a hard, abusive & sheltered life (found few things about!), getting to Pacific Prep is her ticket to freedom & new life. But, is there a deeper reason too? (revenge?). Friends are good (Which she never had before!), Mean girls she can handle, But being on the "4 Princes" (Pricks!) radar is bad...
Our "4 Princes" are from rich families, the “kings” of this school. But their lives & vision changed forever when they found a secret about their families...Which they're now investigating. The 4 friends are tight, as others want them for their money...Then she came along. She didn't give them much mind, until things happen 😉.
🔥Cam is the flirty charming Swimmer who shares her English class. From the 1st moment, he's enchanted by her. She's chase & sass, the fire he wants to burn in. As they talk, grow close, share...Lust grows, Love buds...Until it all goes to hell later.
🔥Weston is the nerd, computer genius whom she shares computer class with. From ignoring to helping her with Tech (which she knows not much about, but is needed in this hi-fi school), they've a Slowburn likeness & lust.
🔥Mason is Mysterious, Observant & Good fighter. She'd tried to steer clear of him, but they share mornings in Gym 😂. It hadn't seem that there'd be much b/w them, but they may've common past. Sparks when came, came hard!
🔥Hawk is standoffish, hot-headed, Basically a male version of Hadley! He's an asshole & hates her from when they cross path. He's the "leader" & to be united front (as it's demanded), the other 3 just standby whatever he does!! *Angry huff* but exceptions are there, hmm?
The story begins with Hadley starting senior year of school, getting a hang of it, Seeing teens being teens, & Banterful interactions with The 4! We also see the 4's weird 1 month Girlfriend tradition & how Cam actually remains celibate & falls for her! She fell too & Cue hot times...but a choice ended it all.

The Bullying gets out of hand from here. But due to it, much is found, A new lover introduced, we see reality & get clues! Hadley remains strong through it all (I'm proud), & What Hawk & Cam did, I want them to GROVEL HARD in next book!!! West & Mason are caring, but not entirely forgiven by me.

🔥Beck is the young new school councillor/therapist, the school sends her to when shit happens. He's sweet, swoony & I like him! Treats her as an equal & with respect. Beck's the neutral ground I needed when I (& she) are so angry with the other 4. Her & B's understanding runs deep. I love their relationship & how it grows steadily. When sexy times do happen, its hot. Plus, yay! They even start to date (1st for her). But is he hiding something?

The last few chapters reveal a lot, especially the connection b/w Hawk & Hadley *omg!*. But there are still so many Q/A remained. Months passed in this book, So much happens! I Adored getting Multiple POVs, But who's the guy in Prologue & Epilogue, The villain? With the way things are (I made so many notes!) & That Cliffhanger, I'm so excited for the next book! Does the 4's families know her? What's Hadley hiding? Will she complete school? What mystery will we uncover next?

The heroine has a long history of one night meaningless stands. I guess many readers prefer this so there is that. There are 4 guys (heroes) in the group. She has sex with one and then has sex with a guy outside the circle - the school counselor. He is not one of the heroes. There is a revolution about one of the 4 guys which thank gawd she did not have sex with him. She would have though if he showed one bit of interest. Not kidding.

Wow just wow this was hands down a lock your kids somewhere so you can read in peace, order a pizza because you ain't cooking, can't put this book down read.
Hooked from the beginning, I found myself flipping so fast through the pages because I just needed to know what was coming next.

Pretty decently written, but how many times do I need to hear about her “pu**y clenching” everytime one of them just walks by? That is so dumb, and overused. 12% in and I'm really not feeling this book. I find there to be a ton of unneeded info. Hadley's character irks me.
Giving up at 20% I enjoyed West's chapter. But I can't stand Hadley's inner dialogues or her character for that matter.

WOW! This book totally blew me away. A FMC who I was totally cheering for and girl-crushing on. Characters written richly layered. A story with so many twists and turns, just buckle-in for the unexpected. Broken Trust is first book in new Pacific Prep series - contemporary high school RH with enemies-to-lovers and bully, dark pasts, secrets and twists, told in Multi-POV, which I love for the added depth and connections to these characters.
This is not your typical high school bully romance, and there is WAY MORE going on in this book than the bully aspect. Sure, it has the trope of new girl from low-economic standing / foster kid background arriving at an elite academy with “haves vs have nots” classism, privileged pricks and mean girls, and “the Princes” who rule the school above all others. But this story has such a refreshing take on it -- Nothing is as it seems; there’s so many twists and slow reveal of hints of more for these characters and this story. I’m totally hooked and not-so-patiently waiting for the next book.
I was totally in love with Hadley (the FMC). She is everything I love seeing in a FMC - strong, fierce, smart, imperfect, and more than meets the eye. She has a survivor’s spirit, a fighter’s strength, dark pasts and hidden secrets. She’s sassy and sarcastic and made me LOL many times. She’s also smart and observant. She doesn’t let the Princes or other students steamroll her with their bully antics, but she picks her battles and approaches it with more than just sassy attitude backing her.

I love in bully books when the FMC gets some sweet revenge against the guys - without spoilers, you don't have to wait until Book 2 to see some dished out in a way that I found quite amusing.
The Princes - the four guys who rule the school by legacy and tradition: Hawk, West, Mason, Cam. I really liked the mix of these guys, each having a different persona - hot-tempered alpha-hole, flirty playboy, observant protector, and quiet tech geek - and, like our FMC, are more than meets the eye. These guys all have their own dark pasts and secrets, but above all else they have each other. I absolutely love the dynamic and connection building between Hadley and each guy. As expected for enemies-to-lovers angst with dose of bully, there’s a curve from wanting to hit them to wanting to kiss them, and some may have you wanting to do both. There is some steam in book one along with lots of sizzling chemistry that I can’t wait to see heat up.
Hawk is at the top of my sh*t list, and he’s the main a**hole bully instigator. But I am on the edge of my seat for how the Hawk / Hadley dynamic is going to play out cause [redacted for spoilers 😉]
I am so excited to see what’s to come for the growth arc for these characters and anticipate broken characters who heal together and formed family tropes, which I absolutely love.

In the beginning, I was having a fun time. Broken Trust reminds me a bit of Lords of Wrath and Lords of Pain, the books that threw me down this bizarre rabbit hole to begin with. Definitely more toned down and lacking the sick brilliance that made those books so much fun, but as this is set in a high school that’s not actually a bad thing.
(Sidebar, maybe it’s just the algorithm recommending books to me, but so many of these reverse harem stories seem to be about teenagers. Adults, I ask you, what’s so awesome about teenagers, because when I think about being a teenager I mostly think about zits and fighting with my parents. What about this is appealing?)
And then the last four chapters of the book happened and I wanted to light everything on fire.
And it’s honestly really disappointing, because this was shaping up to be a fun read.

Ok so I was a little nervous going in to read this cause the first book of a new series can be a hit or a miss so my initial plan was to read three chapters for the night, make dinner, then go to bed. Um ... that did not happen as I ended up forgoing both dinner and sleep and stayed awake until I finished because I couldn't find the self discipline to put this book down! I was completely blown away! Hadley, our FMC, is the kind of lady who not only takes what is thrown at her and stands up for herself but also gives me Hannaford vibes because SHE IS SUCH A BEAST! Also the mystery and plot of this story?! So addicting! I did not see that final twist happening at all and I am already excited to read not only book two but the rest of the series because I want to know more about EVERYONE'S stories! I have so many questions about Hadley's past and how she ended up where she is, there are some secrets that are revealed in passing throughout the second half of the book but it just makes me want to know more! I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the continuation of this series through the rest of this year and you should too! If you liked books like Hannaford Prep, Toxic Creek, or Kings of Quarantine you should give this book a try!

A mishmash of every single other bully book out there, specifically Hannaford Prep, Brayshaw, and Breakbattle Academy, just with annoying characters and poor execution. The whole book is telling versus showing and there are major inconsistencies with that telling. Be prepared because nothing is shown to us so you’re forced to take every single thing the author says as truth only for her to then change her mind a few pages later. 😑🙄 While there are some intriguing albeit generic plot points I won’t be continuing on since there’re are still three books and book one was convoluted enough for me to not have faith that the author can deliver three books worth of well fleshed out and well articulated plot and character and relationship development.

This book was phenomenal. I loved it! Seriously, no more words necessary because I don’t really have additional words to describe how I felt after reading this book. It was too good!
Broken Trust by R.A. Smyth is a high school dark reverse harem bully romance. There are so many layers to this book and there’s so much mystery that revolves around these characters. Hadley Parker is starting her senior year at the prestigious high school, Pacific Prep. Fresh out of foster care and officially eighteen, Hadley is attending Pacific Prep on a scholarship. Hadley isn’t like the other students. She’s had a tough life and dealt with many struggles which have made her strong, fierce, and independent. Hadley doesn’t obey anyone and wants to maintain control. Pacific Prep is Hadley’s chance at finally having the freedom to make her own choices.
Hadley’s nature immediately attracts the attention of the “Princes” of Pacific Prep. West, Mason, Hawk, and Cam are the “Princes” and they run the school. They have immense power and a terrifying reputation, but Hadley isn’t afraid of them and the “Princes” don’t like that. Cam is the guy that can charm any girl. The tension, anticipation, and constant guessing had me on the edge of my seat because I couldn’t predict what would happen next in this book. Hadley was such an amazing FMC and I can’t even explain how much I loved her character. I desperately need the second book after that insane cliffhanger and I can’t even imagine what twists and turns will appear in the next book!

I could not put this book down!! I started it thinking I will probably only read a chapter or two and well I stayed up all night and finished it.. so good! It’s like you think it’s going one way and next thing you know it completely shocks you at every turn .. nothing is what it seems and it’s too much and not enough.. that ending is devilish and I need so much more..
It’s well written and the story just flows you right through the pages.. it’s full of sexy times and you can’t get enough of these spoiled rich pricks .. I had no idea this book was Rh but it made me love it even more. I seriously can’t wait for book two. I hope it’s soon because I need it.

Nothing and no one is as it seems in this smart and unique high school bully romance by the very talented R.A. Smyth.
I find that high school bully romance, especially when it’s RH, can be very formulaic and somewhat predictive. While Broken Trust still followed the formula of new girl comes to elite academy filled with pricks and mean girls, I was pleased that it felt fresh and unique, with some unpredictable twists and turns.
For me, if I’m reading a bully romance I need a strong FMC. Hadley was everything I could have hoped for in a heroine. She is strong and fierce with a smart mouth, but didn’t simply run her mouth for the sake of it. Hadley is smart, and she’s vocal when she needs to be but also knows when a simple eye roll will do. But Hadley is clearly hiding something and I need to know what it is! The guys in Broken Trust were the perfect assortment of bad boy, asshole, flirty and “nerdy” and some I want to punch while others…I want to punch less. :)
Despite being the first book in this series we do get some steam and lots of crackling chemistry. Broken Trust is an intriguing read with the perfect amount of drama and angst to keep me wanting more. My mind is already swirling with theories while I am impatiently waiting for book 2. Absolutely amazing series start!

With a prologue like the one in Broken Trust, I expected a lot more.... I don't know, content? Plot? It felt like it dragged, waiting for any single thing to be revealed.
There was a lot of focus on the interactions of the Princes and Hadley, which I understood because you're building a harem, but geez, it bounced a lot.
I couldn't tell if it was trying to be a fast or slow burn, which is a really weird problem to have.
I also have begun to notice that I have zero patience for the "kings of the school" trope. I think I'm getting too old but it's so played out at this point and unrealistic in my opinion. I mean, it's fiction but teen boys being god-like entities is too far fetched for me anymore.
I didn't really like Hadley. Which sucked because you should like a main character. She made it really difficult with how hot and cold her personality was and the lack of background information on ALL the characters.

i don’t know why i didn’t dnf this like it clearly wasn’t for me.
i’m mostly mad i kind of want to read the next one just to figure out what’s going on because literally nothing was completed in this even if i’m not going to have a good time.
but also i literally hated so much about this i don’t know if it’s worth it and honestly i should just move on to books i might actually have a chance at liking.
if you see me read the next one don’t get mad at me i am weak and curious even if it will lead to my own demise.

If you are looking for a light bully found family RH with some unexpected twists then this is for you.
I’m enjoying how the author is pacing this with slowly Revealing the characters depth and plot points. And I didn’t see a unique twist coming. I did find the introduction of one character jarring however now am intrigued. This is a more “realistic” bullymance because of those type of pranks/ humiliation scenes.
Interested to see where the next book takes the story.
New Adult. Multi pov. I would say this is very light grey in the dark spectrum.

I am so confused after reading this. Not in a bad way but in a 'what the heck did I just read and when can I read more' kinda way.
I thought this was gonna be a prep school bully romance, I always enjoy those but then, then it went a completely different way.
I really liked the characters especially Hadley and West, I liked the plot change and I'm more than intrigued to see how this all plays out.
I have no idea where this series is going but I'm very interested in continuing. I'll be starting the second book asap.

Woah... I haven't had a book consume me, have me laughing, shocked, annoyed, and wtf moments all around like this one has in a while! Hadley and the "Princes" of Pacific Prep completely consumed me with this book. If you were/are a fan of the Kings of Quarantine books - you need to read this, trust me you'll be as obsessed as I am. As soon as I started reading this I felt those same addictive vibes, but with an elitest twist where mysteries & secrets are literally around every corner. Every time you think you've figured where this story is going Rachel throws you for another loop.
From the very beginning you get how deeply ingrained the "us, you, and them" mentality is in these students. For a high school bully romance, there's elements of mysterious & dangerous things at play that makes you forget all about the classes. I just know the next one will kick this up a notch. After a bombshell dropped before the book was even over I knew the actual ending would be crazy, and 🤯 what even was that?!
Wow, I don't want to give any spoilers away but these guys are 🙌🏽🔥 in all the best ways. I can't wait to find out more about Hadley and all of the guys she's found herself entangled with. Cam who starts off with good intentions, Hawk who I'm just going to say is crazy at the moment, West & Mason who have this intense connection but followed along with the status quo to maintain a united front, and last but not least... Beck. 🥵🥵🥵 Please don't be a sleeper agent for someone because I don't know what I'll do on Hadley's behalf if you are 🥺 No matter what, Hadley is determined to do what she set out to when she set foot in Pacific Prep - but it looks like now she'll have to rethink everything...
