I HAVEN’T HAD A 5-STAR READ IN A HOT MINUTE… AND THIS ONE FINALLY DID IT. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Blake?! I LOVED THIS WOMAN. She’s feisty, sassy, loyal, a little crazy 😂 and such a badass. I was rooting for her the entire freaking time.

And these TWO together?! The banter was EVERYTHING. 😮‍💨 They’re neighbors, she basically decides they’re enemies, and the tension that comes from that?! I ate it UP.

But can we talk about THE NOTE ON THE FRONT DOOR?! 👀 Because THAT had me hooked.

Add in the motorcycle club, age gap, suspense and a man who is completely swoon-worthy underneath it all?! YES. YES. YES.

🏍️ Motorcycle Club
🖤 Neighbors
🏍️ One-Sided Enemies to Lovers
🖤 Age Gap
🏍️ Banter
🖤 Suspense
🏍️ Sassy FMC

This was addictive, funny, swoony AND had me needing to know what was going to happen next. FINALLY another 5-star read! 😭👏🏻

Blake and Sling

For me Blake gets the first billing because I loved her sassiness and how tough she was. She manages a strip club that she was once a dancer for so her mornings are precious to her. When her neighbor makes noise every morning with his motorcycle, she lets him know about it. Sling is the Prez for the Saints Outlaws MC Virgina Beach Chapter so he is no push over either. I love the sparks and banter between the two of them. It’s what made the book so good. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

D. Vessa and MC romance are my favorite combo!

I really loved Sling & Blake!

Sling is the MC President living across the street from Blake who works nights at the gentleman’s club. With her late nights, sleep is a precious thing and Sling just happens to ruin it every morning with his bike. After confronting him (with no pants on), there’s no turning back for either of them - the fireworks have gone off and they aren’t fading.

Blake is pure attitude with Sling. Sling can’t help but love her tenacity. She pushes his buttons is the best way. Blake is hands down a top FMC for me.

Sling’s “mine” mentality was the best. It’s one of my favorite parts of the MC world. He made sure everyone knew she was his and if they didn’t know, he’d fix that real quick. The way he protective her but didn’t control her was great.

They both have aspects of found family. He has the club and she has her coworkers. I really enjoyed getting to see some personalities shine in each group. I really need Mountain’s book because he has me laughing so hard!

I wanted more of the club life and her learning about it all through him. They spent most of the time at her house so I would’ve loved to see some dates - Sling style of course. While it was a shorter read, I think that would’ve added to their relationship.

Thanks to D. Vessa for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

There isnt a book that D.Vessa writes that I don't love. Which means I loved this one too. I love how strong minded and sassy Blake is. She is a bada$$ FMC. Her mouth truly never had a filter. Sling was an overbearing jerk. But a jerk who def knew what he wanted and wasn't going to stop until he got it. And by it... I mean Blake. Their banter was EPIC!! This was such a fun read. Can't wait for more

I genuinely don’t even know how to explain how much I freaking LOVED this book.

Sling’s Awakening gave me the goosies, had me laughing out loud, had me completely stressed in the best way, and somehow managed to hit every single thing I love in a story all at once.

The banter? ELITE. I was legitimately cackling.

The chemistry? Insane.

The danger, the tension, the humor, the intensity, the sexy moments, the MC family energy… all of it just worked for me.

Blake and Sling pulled me in so completely that every time I had to put the book down, all I wanted to do was get right back into their world. I felt completely immersed in this story.

D. Vessa always delivers for me, but this one? This one was different.

Sling’s Awakening is chef’s kiss. Absolute perfection. No notes.

I’m pretty sure Sling just claimed the number one spot among all my D. Vessa books, which is saying A LOT.

Sexy. Funny. Dangerous. Intense. Addictive.

I’m obsessed.

If you love an MC romance with incredible banter, a man who refuses to stay away, a woman who gives it right back to him, and an MC family ready to burn the world down when one of their own is in trouble…

READ. THIS. BOOK.

First read for this author and I figured with it being book one in her chapter of the saints outlaws, I’d be safe with not reading any before.
But honestly…idk what I read 🫣
I know all MCs are different but this fell extremely flat for me. There was no relationship building between the two main characters. They screamed at each other more often than not. Never really got to know each other. The way the MC worked was never discussed. Neither what it meant or be claimed and become an Old Lady. There was no real character growth or story line…
Needless to say… I’m bummed

Ugh, D. Vessa has me hooked on a second MC series now!!

I absolutely loved how smart our FMC, Blake, was. She was of course also a total badass, an ex-dancer who worked her way up into management (#bossbabe), and took no shit from her very noisy, but very attractive 😉, neighbor Sling. I absolutely DIED when she wrote her unpleasant note to him about revving his damn bike at too early of an hour. I also really loved how she was a total mama bear for her work found family. I would never want to cross this woman!!

Of course I loved our MC President Sling too! Not only was he wonderfully cheeky, but completely in control of every room he walked into. I loved how he definitely loved to push Blake’s buttons, but at the end of they day, he was ride or die for this woman from the start, always wanting to ease her stress. I loved that even when they weren’t dating, he went out of his way to try to relax her and make her life a little easier. I also laughed my ass off at how often this man threw a wrench out of frustration!!

I absolutely adored the fellow club guys, with Mountain definitely being a favorite for me. Honestly, I can’t wait for all of their stories because everyone is going to be amazing based on D’s previous MC works and this strong start to the new series! I also have my eye on Detective Anderson who seems to be “not like the other” cops…

Thank you D. Vessa for the opportunity to beta read this one! The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.

If D. Vessa writes it, I read it. She has a way of writing complex, flawed characters we can relate to. The connection between Blake and Sling isn't built on superficial attraction. They work to build a relationship based on mutual respect and feeling safe with one another.

If you're looking for a possessive MMC, this is it. If you're looking for a "but he's only soft for her," this isn't it. Sling loves his girl and is all in once he notices her, but he doesn't go soft when he is with her. He is matter of fact and what you see is what you get. He protects his girl, but will also punish her when she acts like a brat (but he does love that mouth on her). Blake is independent and resists Sling's advances, until she is finally able to get comfortable with him. And once Sling is in, he doesn't leave or hesitate in sharing his feelings.

We get the threat of club life while also getting quiet, protective moments between the main characters. The book isn't completely dark. We get plenty of laughs and lots of banter. The author was able to weave the darker plot with lighter moments perfectly. I do wish there had been more MC involvement, but maybe there will be in future books. I look forward to getting to know the rest of the Saint's Outlaws MC.

ARC Review

Sling’s Awakening by D. Vessa was such a good motorcycle club romance! This story sucked me right in from the beginning, and the immediate banter between Sling and Blake was easily my favorite part. Their chemistry and back-and-forth had me hooked!

Blake is the manager of a strip club with a seriously shady owner, and she finds herself living across the street from Sling, a man who annoys her with every breath he takes. Sling, on the other hand, is the President of the local MC and absolutely lives for Blake’s bratty attitude. He loves pushing her buttons just as much as she loves giving him a hard time. But when Sling discovers what might be happening at Blake’s workplace, he sets out to protect her and make her his.

If you enjoy enemies-to-lovers romance, motorcycle clubs, a sassy and independent FMC, and a dominant MMC who loves to punish his brat but also knows when to call her a good girl, then this book might be right up your alley! The banter, chemistry, and protective MC vibes made this such an entertaining read, and I definitely recommend checking it out if this is your kind of romance!

ARC Review 🔥

Blake out our Sassy fiesty and knows what she needs and what doesn’t need. She isn’t afaird to stand her claim when she needs to. We love a woman who takes ownership of the strip club she used to dance for and she manages it. Being able to relax and enjoy the days before the night gets interrupted by someone new someone who isn’t afraid to get loud 🤭🥵

Sling oh sling you are now one of my top MC boyfriends He is a Blakes new neighbor and let’s just say he makes an entrance 🤭 he is a protective posiseve and what he wants he’ll get it but he does that with only Blake being the President of the Outlaw MC he won’t stray away from what and who he is but he will make damn sure that what’s his is his and he has no problem sharing how he feels and what he feels if he is in he is in for the long haul 🔥🫶🏽

There is an instant connection in a form that theses two are meant for another and there is no mistaking that I loved every moment of this book and I can’t tell you how much I love reading @authordvessa books 🖤🖤🫶🏽🫶🏽

This is the first book I've read by this author, and it won't be the last. I loved Blake, the MFC who has her job, pays her own way, and is ticking off her goals. She works long hours, but if she wants what she wants, it's worth it. Normally, she rolls into bed just as others start their days, which is how she starts having problems with her neighbour.

Sling is surprised when his new neighbour stands sassing him about his bike. He could sit there all day and let her. Her sass, her attitude, her fury, fuel his attraction to her. Her banging body helps as well. He wants to control that fury, to unleash it in the best possible way in the oldest dance known to man.

From then on, the game is on. Sling is determined to have her under him, sooner the better. Blake is determined she is not. So the dance begins: the to-and-fro.

The story is fast-paced, steamy, and entertaining. The book introduces the secondary characters I'm looking forward to reading about in the series as they become primary.

🌶 - Spice Level

Boy was Sling a cocky a$$. He was a gonnner for Blake as her spitfire self on their first meet. Sling was not going to stand anyone looking at or touching his woman and it shows in moments where he's a live trip wire waiting to be lit up. We love a good unhinged alpha- hole. I did like this book and the cast of characters, especially the fighting like brother with his other MC members. 😉 I do find it almost hilarious that Blake was weak for his cock-i-ness. She was crawling to him because of his dominance that came off him in waves.

I will say this as an avid reader for DVessa's books, this one didn't have the same umpph as previous books in the Dirty Devil's series. It feels like she held back some of that magic the Dirty Devils and the Mafia series contains, but still delivered a good story that had realness for the characters I've come to expect in the DVessa-verse.

Thank you DVessa for this eARC!

📚 ARC REVIEW 📚

Blake & Sling’s story had me hooked! 🔥🏍️

Blake is exhausted, overworked, and constantly pushing herself to keep up with everything life throws at her. Then there’s her next-door neighbor, Sling, who seems determined to get under her skin until she finally gives in. 😏

But when Blake’s boss puts her in a dangerous situation without her even realizing it, Sling and the Saints Outlaws MC step in. Sling will do whatever it takes to protect Blake, and having his crew by her side makes it clear that she’s not facing any of this alone. ❤️‍🔥

I loved watching Blake finally get what she had worked so hard for, especially with her boss finally out of the picture! The protective MC vibes, romance, and found-family feel made this such an enjoyable read.

✨ Such a quick read—I finished it in ONE sitting! ✨

Everything this author writes is a MUST READ for me! I can’t wait to see what comes next! ❤️‍🔥🏍️

I absolutely loved Sling & Blake’s story from start to finish! It has a realistic MC life vibe, with tons of tension, exciting/interesting story line with so cub fun back and forth banter!

Blake’s character is amazing. She’s sassy, feisty and tough as nails - she’s a total boss! And I loved her character so much!

Sling is cocky but he backs it up. He is a bit unhinged but it made me love him even more. He’s obsessive over Blake and extra protective and for me that makes him swoon worthy!

I also really enjoyed the relationship dynamic between them as they both have alpha personalities. Each one has to give a little because they are both strong personalities. These things can make or break a relationship and for Sling & Blake I think it ultimately made them perfect for each other. Blake was ready to be an ol lady and she didn’t even know it!

The ending was every thing and I love the way their HEA plays out. I cannot wait to see what’s next for the Saints Outlaws!

Tropes: MC Romance, Neighbors to Lovers, "Touch Her & Die", Alpha Hero
I just flew through Sling’s Awakening by D. Vessa and I am officially obsessed! If you love a possessive biker who is a absolute goner for a sassy heroine, you need this on your TBR.
Blake is fiercely independent and wants nothing to do with her loud next-door neighbor. Too bad for her, that neighbor is Sling—the president of the Saint’s Outlaws MC—and he is completely captivated by her bratty attitude. Their back-and-forth banter is top-tier, and the chemistry is fast, intense, and seriously spicy.
While Sling has total alpha energy, he is a massive green flag in how he respects and protects Blake. The brotherhood comedy had me laughing out loud, and the "touch her and die" stakes kept me turning pages late into the night. It is the perfect mix of grit, humor, and high heat. I can't wait for the next book!

What do you get when you get a President of an MC and a mouthy independent strip club manager? Fire and gasoline and it gets hot up in that building!

Blake has long shifts at the club, managing her girls and putting up with the owners BS. She’s trying to make something of herself and she worked damn hard for it. The last thing she expected was a neighbor playing with his bike making a hell of a lot of noise!

Sling, he’s so toxic, I love it! He has a carefree attitude but he knows what he wants and that’s Blake. He’ll go to the end of the depths for his claimed girl! He’s even more hooked when he bails him out!

I loved this story so much! I’ve read D from day one and this one is my absolute fav!

Highly recommend!!

“I want Sling. I just want Sling.” Girl!!! We felt that. We felt that completely while reading it. Blake just needed her man and she didn’t know if she would get him. That moment of just wanting pure comfort instead of going at the stress alone. Downright beautiful.

If you like possessive males that give villain vibes but isn’t too dark on the topics, D. Vessa is definitely your girl. But on top of that, this is definitely your book. Oh but let me say, D. Vessa f**ked up another hand in this one. I think its her subtle specialty and every time, I get a chuckle. Like stop touching the MMC’s woman! He didn’t need to tell you but he surely will show you! I think all scumbag characters should be afraid of D. She doesn’t play and you will be injured. It’s what a girl likes, ok?!?!

Sling’s Awakening is now available to read! Check out D. Vessa for more delicious reads and up coming releases. She may have another book coming to us soon!

Blake and Sling are next door neighbors and Blake is hacked off. She works nights at a gentleman’s club as manager and he revs his motorcycle about three hours after she goes to bed. Enemies to lovers FTW! Her boss desperately wants a meeting with Sling, and that boss is the armpit of humanity, so Sling wants nothing to do with him. Shenanigans ensue on the way to the HEA, and Sling comes to the conclusion that Blake is a crazy woman. And that he likes crazy.

I loved these characters! Blake does reside somewhere south of sanity, and that’s one of her best traits. Sling is an alpha male and a rhymes-with-Masshole, but that’s actually endearing. Both of them will go to the wall for each other, and that kind of loyalty is a thing of beauty.

Cat’s Stats:

Bechdel test- passed

Safety? Y

Triggers- violence including torture, language, nudity

Book 1 in the Saint’s Outlaw MC: Virginia Beach Chapter series
Sling and Blake
This is an age gap, main characters in their 30s, enemies to lovers (one sided), next door neighbors, prickly FMC, MC president MMC, amazing banter, suspense, touch her and d!e, found family, he falls first, jealous and possessive main characters, MC romance.
D. Vessa does it again! When I say I have loved every single book I have read by this author, I mean it! And Sling’s Awakening delivered just like I knew it would! I finished this book in a day, I couldn’t put it down! It was such a great read and such a fun ride. ARC Review: Thank you to D. Vessa and Booksirens for sending me an advanced copy of Sling’s Awakening to read and review.

If D. Vessa writes it, I’m going to read it! How can you not love Sling! He is absolutely turned on by Blake’s bratty side. He’s protective, and he will reign holy terror on anyone who dares to mess with his woman. This book was funny when the members of the club were bantering. I also loved Sling’s disdain for the old lady from down the street.

I like Blake. She’s sassy. She’s always had to take care of herself, so having someone care for her and want to take care of her is a foreign concept. I like how protective she is of the girls at the club. She forms a great relationship with the members of the club right away and it was fun to watch that too. I hope we get books about the other members of the Myrtle Beach chapter.

Welcome to Saints Outlaws MC: Virginia Beach Chapter! Sling’s the President. Possessive? ☑️ Knows what he wants? ☑️ Kink for spanking? ☑️ Touch her and buh-bye ☑️ Blake’s his point of interest — Boss lady? ☑️ Sassy? ☑️ Takes no nonsense but willing to crawl for him? ☑️ The minute these two meet, she can’t stand him — perfect. 👌🏻 The banter between these two was top-shelf and literally had me kicking and squealing! Sling made it his mission to wear this woman down till she gives in to him, and oh boy, when she does, it’s something else. Their chemistry is unbelievable and so very spicy. Their story wouldn’t be complete if she wasn’t put in danger, and this man stops at nothing to keep her safe. I couldn’t have put this book down even if you paid me. If MC romance is your jam, definitely check out Sling’s Awaking.

Such a fun read! Blake is a firecracker, she goes from 0-60 in a heartbeat whenever Sling pokes at her, waking her up, mowing her lawn, etc. They are an explosive combo, he loves her fire! She will go toe to toe with him in a heartbeat and that doesn't happen to Sling. Blake is very attracted to the MC prez but sees the trouble flashing over his head like its spelled out in neon lights. She just wants to work, pay her bills and live a quiet life, not get wrapped up in a bad boy. The push pull between them is so entertaining, I was glued to my ereader. The ribbing he gets from his guys in the MC just made it even better! I absolutely adored Mountain, I hope he gets his own book (pretty, pretty please)! If you are looking for a high heat, MC read with some humor thrown in for good measure, check out Sling and Blake!

Starting a new series can always be a bit stressful. You don’t understand who the characters are and you usually are fumbling for a good portion of the book. That was not the case here. The characters are strong and fleshed out, the plot was solid. For book one of this series, I’m so excited to see how the rest of the series will go. I already love these guys & Blake, & as they continue to add heroines - l don’t doubt that I’ll love them as well.

The only slight negative I had for this book & it’s really a minor thing - was that I didn’t love Slings “pet name” for Blake. And since I didn’t like it really seemed to be over used in my opinion.

All in all though this is a fantastic start to a new series & I’m really excited for what’s to come!

I love it when an FMC comes in with all the attitude, and Blake had it from the beginning and didn't let up even on the last page. She’s fierce, smart, and loves a good fight. And kudos to her for resisting because whew… I don't know if I would've had that kind of strength. Sling is the MC Prez, which means he’s got alpha vibes in spades and is instantly set on her. I loved how he was basically like, “Eh, whatever. Get over it and come here.” Yes, I would, Prez. Mountain had me cracking up way too much! The bromance, if we can even call it that, was freaking awesome to read. One word: Lawn. 😂 There’s betrayal, crazy behavior, and plenty of comedy, and D mixes it all together so well once again.

These 2 absolutely exploded on the page. Their chemistry is what made this book. Blake is an independent woman working as a manager at a strip club she used to dance for and for a sketchy boss. She works nights and just wants her neighbor, Sling to not rev his bike so early. When the 2 finally meet it sets off encounters where we are not sure if one minute they where going to fight or the other F word i want to use 😜. Sometimes I wasnt sure if she purposely made him jealous but boy she did and he would explode.

There is drama with her boss and the MC, she gets dragged down because of it. But she and her dirty boss soon finds out what it means to be the woman of the Saints Outlaw Prez.

Can't wait for more books in this chapter of Saints Outlaw MC.

Can not recommend enough.

Quote:

D Vessa just writes the most amazing MC romance.

Blake was a baddie, I loved her. she gave Latina vibes and I was all for it. Sling, of course, instantly loved her sass and the rage bait was so real 😭😂 D Vessa writes some great stories, they don’t ever feel prolonged and they’re honestly fast reads.

Blake is a favorite fmc, I think she was just such a relatable character, and I love books like that. Sling was such a MAN! He had a mouth on him and dirty talkers will forever be my favorites!

Hash is still my current favorite of D’s men 🫶🏼

Thank you D, for the opportunity to receive an early ebook copy of Sling’s Awakening. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

D Vessa’s books are a must read for me! I love the characters, the stories, and the emotions: they resonate and feel so real! Blake and Sling are neighbors, but not friendly. She just wants to sleep after working well into the early morning hours and he can’t stop revving up his motorcycle! Their first meeting was hilarious: she’s a stick of dynamite and he’s mesmerized, especially as she stomps away! It’s nonstop banter, their chemistry is scorching, and their support systems are equally amazing! All except her sleazy boss and a nosy neighbor who manages to create so much aggravation and a disaster for them! Blake fights their relationship, but her protective side comes out and their bond is sealed! I loved this couple and can’t wait for more stories in their world!

How is it that when D writes a book I always love the FMC more than the MMC?!

Blake is just trying to make life work. Constantly working & dealing with a boss who sucks.
Homegirl just wants some peace & quiet when she gets home.
Instead she gets a neighbor. And not just any neighbor, a HOT obnoxious one. Oh and he’s the president of a motorcycle club 🤭

Sling’s first impression of Blake is full of wonder. Because who the hell leaves a note telling him to keep it down with his bike? 😂
He can’t keep away from her even when she’s determined to stay away as far as she can.

Their banter makes this book so much to fun to read! And don’t even get me started on Mountain stirring up shit. I cannot wait for more of this MC chapter!

D. Vessa has done it AGAIN!! 🔥Not only has she delivered another winner, but at this point, every book she writes is an automatic MUST-READ for me! 😍 And can we talk about how I suddenly want someone to call me “Toots”?! 😂

Absolutely LOVE Blake and Sling. She's a total bad ass boss baddie. She went from ex-dancer to running the club. He's the cocky sexy tattooed MC Pres who you can't help but fall "on your knees and crawl" for.

Touch her and die, yes please! I'm a sucker for a possessive man. Their banter, chemistry, and stubborn personalities had me hooked. I could not put this down.
The sass, the spice, the laughs, and a man who knows exactly what he wants?!

D.Vessa always captures her audience in her writing. Kudos to her for another banger. ❤️

I really enjoyed this book! It was a fun, fast-paced read that kept me entertained from beginning to end. Sling is definitely your classic possessive alpha-hole, but Blake gives him just as much attitude and holds her own, which made their dynamic fun to read.

I’ve read quite a few books by D. Vessa, and while I enjoyed this one, I felt like it was missing that little something that usually makes her books stand out to me. I honestly can’t quite put my finger on what was missing, but there was just a slight disconnect for me. Overall, though, it was an enjoyable read and an easy book to fly through.
