Rate this book
IT nerd Atlas Perrera has one to hold down her job at the Alpha Net startup. After six months as an unemployed post-grad, she has vowed never to go back to scraping pennies out of her childhood piggy bank ever again.

The Alpha Net gig seems easy enough—maintaining the user interface of a matchmaking app is something Atlas can do in her sleep. Things are starting to look up… Until her panicked boss asks her to be one of the Alpha escorts.

Backed into a corner and worried about her job stability, Atlas agrees, but everything gets more complicated when she meets the bossy older omega she needs to satisfy over five knotty nights.

Atlas and Jazmine were couple goals. I loved how sweet and nerdy Atlas was while still being a muscle bound hottie. Jazmine was curvy and dedicated to her daughter, but needed someone like Atlas to reteach her her own value. They both had insecurities about their designations and their worth as romantic partners, but fit together so perfectly. Love that Jazmine, the omega, was the domme.

Spice: 5/5

Triggers: divorce, sex work

Duel 1st Person POV. 5🌟 3🌶️. 89 pages
1 long, deliciously detailed spicy scene

Everyone knows that I’m a massive fan of Lily X’s work and her omegaverse is up there with some of my favourite reads. If she writes it, I’ll read it. Knotty Nights is no different and is the perfect start to the Very Knotty Valentine novella series.

Knotty Nights follows Atlas a coder working for AlphaNet when she is approached to fill in as an escort for the launch of the app. Her nerdy, soft introverted self is out of her depth but agrees anyway, and especially when she sees her match. Jasmine is a 40 year old divorced omega with so many insecurities, who can’t believe she’s been matched with a younger muscle mommy alpha.

For such a short read the chemistry between Atlas and Jasmine sizzled on the page and the dynamic and care between the two just felt right from the beginning. Usually I don’t fall in love with both MCs but how could you not with these two. Atlas is a gentle giant with subby energy, and you just know she’d do anything for her partner, while Jasmine is a plush goddess that believes she is not worthy and yet Atlas can bring out her dominant side. Honestly I need both, please and thank you!

Also round of applause 👏 👏 for the inclusion of a kink that needs more love, especially as this is only the third book I’ve seen it in.

If you’re also an omegaverse fan and want something short, sweet and deliciously spicy give Knotty Nights a read. Then proceed to read the rest of Lily X’s work and the other novellas in the Very Knotty Valentine series

Things to LOVE:
✨Sapphic Omegaverse
✨Soft, Introverted, Subby Alpha
✨Slightly Insecure, Older Dominant Omega
✨Age Gap
✨Muscle Mommy + Soft, Curvy, Plush Goddess
✨Power Play
✨Foot Worship
✨MILK! 🥛
✨Breeding Kink
✨One Night to Forever

My favourite out of the series.

Loved the characters, the plot, the intimacy. There was something about the dynamic in this one that just clicked for me in a way the others didn’t.

I couldn't put it down. Lily X has this ability to keep readers hooked that genuinely needs to be studied. Even in such a short format she packs in so much and it never feels dragged out or overloaded. The emotional beats land, the chemistry builds naturally, and the payoff feels earned rather than rushed.

I understand it is a fast burn novella series, but as someone who listens to and reads a lot of very fast burn content, an 89-page book that only truly starts getting spicy around the halfway mark almost reads like a slow burn to me. The slower build made the intimacy feel more intentional and satisfying.

YES! This was such a delicious sapphic omegaverse valentine special. LOVED the idea of AlphaNet and I didn’t expect to love Atlas, IT techy nerd who’s a bit unsure of herself, quite this much! For a ‘soft’ Alpha, she’s a hell of a muscle mommy and definitely stole my heart in this!
For such a short book, the chemistry between Atlas and Jasmine built up so naturally and the feelings too! Not just a wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am. Jasmine as well! An older Omega who knows what she wants, but has insecurities that are handled so delicately. I LOVE Lily X’s writting so much, even in 89 pages she lands so many relatable lines, such as a ‘Millennial breakdown’ over the price of eggs, never believing doctors when they say something is going to be ‘mild’, and “Heavy things don’t stop being heavy just because you pretend they’re not.”

Plot Summary
Atlas, IT nerd and quite the softy for an Alpha, is part of the team coding and setting up AlphaNet, a heat matching, Alpha for hire app. However, the night before launch, too many Alpha’s drop out and her bosses ask Atlas to.. fill in.. and ends up matched to Jasmine, an older, perimenopausal Omega who knows exactly what she wants, but they both get far more than they bargained for!

Things I loved
- Atlas is adorable
- Jasmine is captivating
- So many relatable lines
- The chemistry
- The spice!
- The ending

Overall, a short and spicy, sapphic omegaverse valentines special with a soft (but muscly) Alpha and a ‘bossy’ older Omega who absolutely stole my heart in this.

As always, check content/trigger warnings

This was my first book by Author Lily X and also my first time to the Sapphic side of the Omegaverse.
The two main characters are: Atlas (Alpha) who works as a coder at AlphaNet, a heat matching company. Jasmine (Omega) who is a divorced mother of 1 and heading towards the last of her heat cycles. They meet when Atlas is asked to help out because they are short staffed at the AlphaNet which turns out to be an escort service company. The two have great chemistry from the beginning and I think it's because Atlas is a softer Alpha (if that makes sense) and puts a lot of Jasmines insecurities to rest. Atlas also allows Jasmine take control of their encounter.
This book is only 89 pages and has 1 long spicy scene.
It is book 2 in a 4-book series with various authors.

I’ve read multiple books by this author and she never disappoints! I only gave it 4 stars because this is my first venture into the omegaverse world so some of the terms I wasn’t familiar with. But thanks to reddit I gained a lot of clarity with the characters roles. Overall it was a short, sweet, and cute novella. It gave what it needed to give. As always her writing is great. The character banter is great and lily X always creates a great spin on a spicy romance.

I'll take Kathryn's dedication for me too.

This was short, too sweet at times (as opposed to spicy) and I wasn't a fan of the being body critical that Jazmine was doing, all the time. It is very human and understandable but very annoying.

I would have loved an illustration of Jazmine as well.
