A Friends-to-Lovers, Fake Dating Hollywood Romance
Book Four of The Backlot Series

Nothing says true love like a well-rehearsed lie.

Stella Rhodes can sell anyone’s story—except her own. As a rising talent agent in Hollywood, she’s built her career managing egos, spin, and expectations. So when her Southern mother announces a surprise visit and expects to meet Stella’s boyfriend, Stella does what she does she improvises.

The problem is, she doesn’t actually have one.

Brandon Grimaldi has spent his career risking everything as a stuntman, but pretending to be Stella’s devoted boyfriend might be the most dangerous role he’s ever taken on. They’ve been friends for years. Neighbors. Part of the same tight-knit Hollywood circle. Faking a relationship should be easy. Until it isn’t.

Hand-holding turns into heat. Fake dates start to feel real. And the longer they play their parts, the harder it becomes to ignore what’s been building between them all along.

In a city where everything is staged, Stella and Brandon must decide what’s worth risking—careers, friendships, or the chance at something real.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC reader: If you love a slow burn that makes you kick your feet and giggle, Behind the Scenes delivers in the sweetest, funniest way. Brandon completely stole the show for me—he’s the definition of a golden retriever boyfriend. Loyal, warm, a little chaotic in the cutest way, and always showing up exactly when you need him.
He’s not just the perfect guy… he’s the perfect friend. The kind who listens, supports, and makes you feel seen—even when he has no idea he’s halfway to stealing your heart. Watching their friendship shift into something deeper had that delicious, lingering tension that keeps you hooked page after page.
The humor is on point, the chemistry builds beautifully, and the payoff is so worth the wait. If you’re into friends-to-lovers with charm, heart, and a sunshine boy who will ruin you for all future fictional men… Brandon is your man.

This was such a cozy, easy read. The kind of book where you pretty much know what you’re getting into, but you don’t care because the writing style just pulls you in anyway.

This isn't a heavy book, or emotionally draining. It’s light, funny, a little messy, and overall just great. It's the kind of book you can read in a day and immediately be like – Why didn't I start this sooner? Wow.

One of my favorite parts was watching Stella stand up to her mother. It was one of those moments where you’re just cheering for her and a little afraid of the concequences it might bring them. But watching her claim her work, her ambition, and her identity without shrinking herself was just plainly powerful, and so damn satisfying to read.

Stella is also the kind of character that feels real. Outside of work she doubts herself constantly and freezes in the presence of men she finds atractive, but the second she steps into her professional space she knows exactly what she’s doing and how good she is at it. Watching her grow into that confidence outside of work too was another one of my favorite parts of the story.

And Brandon. Oh, Brandon.

This man sees everything in Stella that she cannot see in herself, and he never hesitates to tell her. He is genuinely kind, supportive, and soft in a way that feels rare. He comes from a wealthy family but chose his own path instead of joining the family business, and even though his family is proud of him, there’s this constant feeling that they see his career as temporary. Like something he will grow out of eventually.

Watching Brandon wrestle with the idea of letting go of something he loves so deeply and the way Stella supports him and helps him find a new calling that still keeps him in the world he loves was honestly beautiful. It just made these characters feel even more real.

Their relationship is very much a you already love each other, you just have not noticed it yet situation. Built on friendship, trust, and genuinely caring for one another. Nothing about it felt forced. It felt easy. Natural. Real.

This is the fourth book in The Backlot series, and the second I finished it I immediately wanted to go buy the rest. I love these characters individually, and I love them even more together. If you’re looking for a cozy, low stress romance with great character growth and a strong friendship at its core, this one is absolutely worth picking up.

Behind The Scenes 🎬
Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Kimberly Page for trusting me with this ARC!🧡
Stella has a career based on helping others to shine. To show their stories without fear and stand out. However, her own one remains hidden, until she suddenly has to act and pretend everything is all figured out, including having a boyfriend.
Brandon is used to risking everything due to being a stuntman, even this time he has to be the perfect boyfriend, and the risk is greater than jumping into the highest building. Will he manage or will everything turn into chaos?

SO,SO BEAUTIFUL STORY!
I have previously read an other work of Page and I can only say THE BEST.
She truly has a talent, taking te reader into holywood, with actors, spotlight and intrigues always being there. Also,I loved the structure of the story & every single character!
Stella, was a ray of sunshine, with her funny lines & cute moments making the book even better. She is lovely, talented and determined to show what her career means for her in a world that she is only seen as a potential housewife.
Brandon,on the other side, has a life crisis going on,however he WILL manage everything he is needed to do.Truly a (fake) boyfriend material!Plus, his skills in 🌶️were OUT OF THIS WORD.
Speaking about 🌶️,OH BOY.Can I say that I enjoyed it?I will.Because it was perfectly written!Page, ate and left no crumbs in this one.She delivered the love, lust and passion these two had hidden about each other for a long time.Literally AMAZING!
The only thing that made me not put that 5 star raiting,is that I felt towards the end stuff happened too quickly between those two.I get that they knew each other for a long time, but couple dynamics differ,so please slow down guys🥹.
Even,it was one of the cutest romances and I DEFINITELY recommend!
out on Dec,12th ✨

4.5 stars! I loved getting to watch Stella and Brandon's love story develop.

They were neighbors and friends first, put in a crazy situation of fake dating when Stella's mom came for an impromptu visit after a phone conversation where Stella lied about her relationship status.

Brandon is a stuntman and uber confident in his relationship building skills. Stella is a talent agent who kills it at work but can't see what she brings to the table while not at work. Brandon sees her for who she is and offers to help her find her groove in her personal life.

There was no big conflict or drama in this book. It was uncomplicated, with some miscommunication that created a few moments of confusion.

There's not much to say about trigger warnings. Spice level was 🔥🔥🔥. There are some old-school thoughts that are mentioned by one of the characters in the book.

This is the 4th book of the Backlot series, but it can be read as a standalone. I had not read anything by this author before and did not feel like I missed anything. Saying that, I may need to check out her other books in the series!

Thanks to Kimberly Page for allowing me to be a part of her ARC Team for this book.

You know that feeling when you’re reading a book and completely lose track of time? When you read and feel like you’re actually in the room, fully immersed in the moment, feeling the vibe? That’s exactly how I felt while reading this book. I lived through the awkward yet funny moments, and I felt the fear, the worry, the love, and the affection. This author truly has a gift for making readers experience emotions and for perfectly capturing conversations that we could all realistically have in our own lives.

Although at times, I felt that certain events unfolded a bit too quickly, and I would have loved to experience more of those moments, I really enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters. It was complex without being overwhelming, and the challenges they faced felt realistic.

The perfect friends-to-lovers, slow-burn romance. I love the relationship between Stella and Brandon. They were so perfect for each other, and I loved seeing their relationship develop. I loved how they were there for each other and lifted each other up. I also loved each of their friend groups. This was my first book by this author, but it definitely won’t be my last!

Chick-lit perfection! This was my first read in the stand-alone series and I slipped into the universe so easily. I loved the Hollywood film-industry backdrop — a talent agent and a stunt double made for such a fun, believable pairing. Their chemistry is instant and electric, keeping you in delicious anticipation for when they finally cross the line from friendship to something more. Two characters who genuinely care for each other, wrapped in a story that’s just pure fun.

Sometimes a book just sweeps you off your feet, and Behind the Scenes did exactly that. Kimberly Page takes the classic fake dating trope and spins it into something heartfelt, funny, and surprisingly tender.

Stella Rhodes is a Hollywood talent agent who can sell anyone’s story, except her own. When her mother shows up expecting to meet Stella’s boyfriend, she panics and ropes in her stuntman best friend, Brandon Grimaldi, to play the part. What starts as a well‑rehearsed lie quickly turns into more when kisses feel far too real. Brandon agrees to help Stella build her confidence and skills around dating, and Stella plans to help Brandon with some new career aspirations due to his injury.

As a reader, I loved how real Stella felt. She’s ambitious, sharp, and vulnerable in ways that made me root for her. Brandon, meanwhile, is the kind of hero who sneaks up on you, he’s steady, loyal, and quietly swoony. Their banter had me grinning, but it was the emotional connection between the two that got me most. It was in the fear of risking friendship and the ache of wanting more that made me tear up. These two were best friends and took such good care of one another.

Kimberly Page nails the Hollywood backdrop without letting it overshadow the romance. The stunt work details, the pressure of image, the glitz and grit; it all adds so much to their story, but the heart of it is Stella and Brandon learning that pretending isn’t enough when love is real. The slow burn is real in this one and so worth. The chemistry is palpable and the flirting lessons are so much fun to read. I was squealing when they finally act on their feelings!

I’m a huge fan of fake dating, best‑friends‑to‑lovers, and stories that balance humor with emotional depth. This book ticked all those boxes and more! Loved the girl gang and group of guys! Seeing some familiar faces was so much fun! I have been looking forward to Brandon & Stella’s story. It’s perfect for them; playful, heartfelt, and left me with that warm, satisfied sigh at the end.

A huge thank you to Love Notes PR and Kimberly Page for the early copy!

This book is for every girl out there that somehow always felt like never enough and too much at the same time.

Stella Rhodes is an up and coming talent agent that just hit her big break. She's confident, sure of herself, and self-assured, but only in her professional life. In her personal and dating life, Stella can't seem to find her stride. That's when her across the hall neighbor and best friend, Brandon Grimaldi, steps in to give her lessons. This all sounds like the perfect plan until Stella's mom comes for a surprise visit. A little white lie and some nervous chatter later, and Stella has told her mother that Brandon is her boyfriend. Mrs. Rhodes is hearing the wedding bells chime already, but is Brandon up for the fake dating task?

Kimberly Page does an amazing job in this story, and the previous books in The Backlot Series, of giving us a story filled with the glitz and glam of Hollywood. With Stella being a talent agent and Brandon a stunt double, we get small glimpses inside the Hollywood life while also getting a swoon-worth romance story. This book is a slow burn that quickly heats up once Stella and Brandon realize that maybe the person for them has been right across the hall the entire time.

As a woman who has struggled with imposter syndrome her entire life, I deeply appreciate Stella as a character. I found a lot of her inner monologue similar to ones I have daily. I think Kimberly Page did a phenomenal job of writing the perfect character for women who succeed in the workplace and look confident on the outside but who couldn't be less sure of themselves on the inside. It was a breath of fresh air to feel so seen on a page.

Overall, I absolutely loved this story. The one small thing that kept this from being a five star book for me was the ending feeling a little rushed. I would have liked to see the story be a little bit longer to give Stella and Brandon a little longer to let their relationship blossom on the page.

I would recommend this book to any of my fellow romance girlies, especially those struggling with imposter syndrome.

Thank you, Kimberly Page, for another wonderful addition to The Backlot Series!

ARC Review

Behind the Scenes by Kimberly Page is exactly why I keep coming back to the Backlot Series. Kimberly Page somehow writes this friend group with so much warmth and chemistry that every new book feels like returning to a chaotic, loving, nosy little family. And book four… Stella and Brandon absolutely deliver.

Stella, Hollywood’s rising agent who can spin anyone’s narrative but avoids writing her own and she suddenly needs a boyfriend for her mother’s surprise visit. Brandon, her stuntman best friend who has risked his body for years on set, agrees without hesitation. Pretending to adore each other should be simple. Except it isn’t. Not when hand-holding feels too natural, the fake kisses spark, and sharing a bed goes from awkward to unhinged levels of tension. Watching these two slowly realize they’ve been each other’s person all along was so satisfying.

Their friends to lovers arc works because it feels real. No overwrought pining, just two people who know each other to their bones stumbling into something deeper. And the fake dating shines because their friendship is already rock solid. Brandon giving Stella flirting tips? I cackled. Brandon falling first? I swooned. And the spice? Absolutely worth the wait. I was screaming at them to get it together and kiss already. And when they did… Baby! It was perfect and unexpected, totally did not expect them to have a moment after trivia night. Like I did not expect it to happen the way it did. I was giddy!

We also get more of the Backlot friend group and I loved the glimpses of the other couples. Especially Blair with the baby.

Tropes I devoured:
💛 Friends to Lovers
🎭 Fake Dating
🏠 Forced Proximity
🛏️ One Bed
🎬 Hollywood Setting
💪 Stuntman
👠 Ambitious, Career-Driven Heroine
💋 Slow Burn with Big Payoff

Bring on Jake and Natalie. I’m ready. Thanks to the author and LoveNotesPR for the ARC. Always such a good time.

Thank you for the chance to read this early!
I LOVE this series by Page and book 4 is no exception: now we get to follow Brandon (a stuntman) and Stella (an up and coming agent in Blair's Tangerine agency) as they maneuver best friends to lovers during a terrible fake dating set up.
What I love about this: first off, the friends to lovers is BELIEVABLE. You can see these two as the best friends they are, their closeness, their bond, and how easily those feelings could morph and shift without really pining. It's rare that friends to lovers has zero pining and I LOVE that about this one. I also really enjoyed the fake dating. Because they are such good friends the fake dating just works, and watching these two subtly understand each other...perfection. Especially when Brandon is giving Stella flirting advice? Hysterical.
But what Page does best actually lies outside of the main romance, really in all her stories. The friendships amongst this cast: the women and the men, separately, are SO well done. You know these characters care for each other and between Manmorial weekend and the womens' group text, you feel their love and commitments. I've also always loved her attention to career: you get some REAL insights into the stuntman world here that feel so grounded and not throw away. Finally, her men's voices. The men she writes are layered, complex, and just so realistic. I LOVE each of them and Brandon might be my new favorite.

Here's to book 5: bring me Jake and Natalie please :-)

🚨Behind The Scenes \ Kimberly Page
➡️ Available December 12.12.2025

💬 Stella is a confident and take charge kind of woman, except when it comes to her love life. There she’s a walking disaster who can’t handle a conversation with her crush.

When her mother starts pressuring her to find someone, she panics and recruits her best friend and neighbor, Brandon, to teach her how to flirt and connect in an attempt to finally be able to hold a full conversation with her crush. However, things quickly escalate and we end up with a ‘fake boyfriend’ situation. You can imagine what happens next…😉

Some things I liked about this book:
I liked the friendship between Stella and Brandon and how it grew naturally into something more.
I really love the underlying message of knowing what you want out of life and going after it…to never give up on yourself and your dreams.

Overall, the storyline was interesting, the characters funny, and the ending: HEA!

🤭 Here are some of my favorite ‘out of context’ quotes that I found hilarious…

“She included a photo. It’s giving insurance brochure.”

“And that’s how Brandon Grimaldi, who, ten minutes ago, was my neighbor offering to give me dating advice, blame my live-in fake boyfriend for the next week. I really need to work on my impulse control.”

“Brandon said eye contact was key, so I lock my gaze onto Davids with laser focus. I’m going to nail this part.”

My Rating: 4.5 ⭐️

Some stories just click, and this one completely surprised me in the best way. I have not read many books set in Hollywood or around movie celebrities and this was only my second read in that setting, and wow, it truly blew me away.

Behind the Scenes is fast paced, well written, and impossible to put down. Stella is strong, independent, and quietly anxious in the most relatable way. Watching her ask Brandon for help building confidence around Mason felt so natural, especially because Brandon is already her safe place. One little lie to get her mom off her back quickly snowballs into fake dating chaos when her mother shows up unannounced and mistakes their casual Thursday nights for a real relationship. From there, the lines blur in the best possible way.

Brandon completely stole my heart. He is the kind of male lead I always root for. Tough on the outside, soft cinnamon roll on the inside, full of warmth, loyalty, and genuine care. His friendship with Stella felt effortless and comforting, and that ease translated straight to me as a reader. I loved how supportive they were of each other’s careers and dreams, standing side by side without ego or dominance.

Their friendship was my favorite part. It flowed naturally, full of laughter, quiet support, and moments that slowly shifted from fake to something very real. Stella and Brandon together just made sense.

1 lie to her mother, but 1 truth that they can't deny.
Over the course of time, they were friends who fell hard for each other.
When Stella's mother came for an unannounced week long visit, Stella had to live in Brandon's apartment for an entire week. She sleeps in his bed and wear his clothes while he sleeps on the couch. 1 night before her mother leaves early, Stella says to Brandon that he should sleep next to her in his own bed because of his shoulder he agrees.
Is 1 bed enough to keep their emotions and chemistry at bay? With this close forced proximity, Stella can keep her mind off the things she thinks , and Brandon not give in to the temptation of how his body is starting to crave and yearn for Stella's even if he didn't have a tasted of her except for kissing her on the lips.
Stella is in love with Brandon, and he is in love with her.
Can she put aside what she thought and be there for Brandon after he had a massive fall at work? Stella cried while Brandon was in the hospital, but she did realize that she couldn't lose him and that she wanted him.
His family loves her. Her mother likes him, and so does her dad. The guy Stella liked the fact that he knew that there was something between Stella and Brandon but didn't say anything until Stella told him after she and Brandon came back from the hospital.

First of all, I want to thank Kimberly Page and LoveNotes PR for choosing me as one of the readers to receive this book.

This story is a fresh, heart-warming contemporary romance that delivers all the charm of Hollywood glitter while still offering a deep and genuine emotional connection. Kimberly Page crafts a narrative that is both fun and heartfelt—perfect for fans of friends-to-lovers romances and feel-good reads filled with warmth.

What begins as a staged romance—complete with late-night laughs, inside jokes, and pretend affection—slowly blurs into something very real. Stella and Brandon are forced to question whether their connection is merely a performance or the beginning of an honest-to-goodness love story.

The dynamic between Stella and Brandon feels authentic and natural. They aren’t just friends with chemistry; they’re two people whose bond has been years in the making. Their banter had me grinning, but it was their emotional connection that truly stayed with me. The fear of risking their friendship and the ache of wanting more were beautifully portrayed and even brought me to tears.

Lastly, this book is a delightful holiday read—cozy, charming, fun, and heartfelt. It’s a perfect blend of friendship, attraction, and a love that grows quietly before blossoming into something unforgettable.

This book was such a fun, cozy escape into Hollywood chaos in the best way. Behind the Scenes totally nails the friends-to-lovers + fake dating combo, and I was hooked pretty much right away. Stella is incredibly relatable with her imposter syndrome and people-pleasing tendencies, and Brandon is that steady, swoony kind of love interest you can't help but root for. Their banter feels natural and easy, like you're just hanging out with them instead of reading about them.

What really stood out to me was how grounded the story felt, even with the glitz of the film industry. The author does a great job balancing humor, romance, and real-life pressure-career doubts, family expectations, and figuring out who you are when life doesn't look the way you thought it would. It never felt overly dramatic, just honest and very human, which made the emotional moments hit harder.

And yes, the romance absolutely delivers. The slow burn is worth it, the chemistry is undeniable, and when the fake dating starts to blur into something real, it's chef's kiss. Add in some great side characters, witty dialogue, and just the right amount of spice, and this ends up being one of those books you finish with a smile and a little book hangover. Perfect if you love smart, heartfelt romance with a fun setting.❤❤❤

I did not read the other books in this series, and this is my first introduction to Kimberly’s work. While this book wasn’t a perfect fit for me, there’s a lot to appreciate. The writing itself is truly strong, engaging, smooth, and easy to fall into. The plot isn’t particularly unique, but it’s enjoyable, and the author’s voice kept me turning the pages.

I did struggle to connect with the characters in the beginning, and the chemistry between Stella and Brandon felt more platonic than romantic for a good portion of the story. Their emotional shift and deeper feelings didn’t fully land for me at first.

However, the second half of the book delivers much better cohesion. Their chemistry finally clicks, and the romantic tension becomes believable and even really enjoyable. I just found myself wishing that growth in both their relationship and their individual arc had been present earlier and more consistent.

Overall, the writing shines, and the last half offers a satisfying glimpse of what their story could be. This one didn’t completely work for me, but I can absolutely see why others might love it. I plan on picking up the next book though!

Thank you to LoveNotes PR for the ARC!

Behind the Scenes is the first book I've read of Kimberly's and I absolutely loved it. This is definitely a friends to lovers type book with fake dating mixed in. While reading, I felt that the relationship between Brandon and Stella was so organic. I felt that both Brandon and Stella were pressured by their families to settle down. This led to Stella proposing that Brandon be her boyfriend, especially when her mother shows up out of the blue.

The relationship dynamics between the two of them while fake dating were definitely blurred between fake and real. I do feel that Brandon fell first. I felt that Stella did have a bit of relationship anxiety, hence why she had asked Brandon to help her become more confident in asking men out.

The only thing that seemed out of place was Mason. While I understand his purpose in the book, I just don't think he was in it enough.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It's a 4.5/5 for me. There is some spice in it that I would rate as a 1.5/5.

Highly recommend this book to those who like Hollywood romances, contemporary romance, friends to lovers, fake dating, and he fell first tropes and genres.

This is the perfect book if you burn for fake romances, friends-to-lovers, golden retriever tropes, or if you want a laugh-out-loud funny book. Time just flew by as I was reading because these felt like my friends. What to do when mom comes to visit and is trying to set you up with EVERYONE? Pretend to date your friend / next-door neighbor. What do you do when you get feelings for the guy? Then you really date him. Brandon is the perfect guy next door (and he is the guy next door). Willing to help you out with any problems that you have, willing to watch those bad dating shows with you, and help you be your pretend boyfriend to get your mom off your back. What do you do when the girl you have had a crush on for years, who lives next door, needs your help to pretend you are her boyfriend? You date them.
The chemistry between the lead characters was amazing, and the comedy was so well written. Although this book is part of a series, it can totally be read as a standalone, but do yourself a favor and read the other books as well. Not because you need to, but because you want to just so you can get to know all of the characters from the Backlot Series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review honestly and voluntarily.

Lovely light-hearted fun romance! I absolutely loved the story of Brandon and Stella and ate it up incredibly fast. This was my first read out of the series, but I did not feel out of the loop or like I was missing something, but I definitely will be placing them all on my radar.

The story was fast-paced and written well, with rich descriptions that really helped set the scenes easily. The spice (IMO) was perfect, a slow burn, where we see their chemistry switch from the friend zone to tension and lust, and when the story takes to that intimate space, I was incredibly addicted. 👌

Brandon is my favorite kind of MMC, sweet, good natured and incredibly handsome, typical golden retriever. Along with a strong, independent FMC, 💪🏼 I just loved their connection in every way.

It was quick, it was cute and fun, and I would absolutely recommend! 4.5/5 ☆

Thank you to Kimberly Page and Love Notes PR for the Advanced Reading Copy! I cannot WAIT for Jake and Nathalie! All opinions are my own and have not been influenced by the publisher or the author.

⤿〝 “I love you, too. So much it scares me.” “Good,” I say, using my good hand to cup her cheek. “Because anything worth having should be a little scary.”.

! Thank you Love Notes PR and Kimberly Page for the copy and the opportunity to read the arc of this book !

⤷ It has been very cute, the only thing it has is that once they start with fake dating they start very fast, everything is very fast, in one chapter they were talking about setting limits and in the next they had already crossed them 😭😭

characters .ᐟ

⋆˙⟡ Brandon
I can't say much about him, but I loved how he gradually realized that what he was really looking for was in front of him all that time, and that has been nice to read in itself 🥹

For those few seconds, there was nothing fake about what was happening between us. Just pure want.

⋆˙⟡ Stella
She reminded me so much of many characters that I love that I couldn't not love her. She is a super relatable character, especially in the theme of romance and love, and that makes you feel closer to her while you read.

I firstly need to say a massive thank you to Kimberly Page & Love Notes.pr for the opportunity to receive an ARC of this book.

It was wonderful to be back in the world of The Backlot Series. This is book four in a series of interlinking books, you however do not need to read the other books to read this one. In book four we follow Stella, a talent agent and Brandon, a stunt man and how a fake dating situation rocks their friendship.

Page’s Hollywood world is delightful. It is bright, colourful and full of life. It feels as though you are getting a true glimpse of the glitz and glam world. In this world we have a community of strong characters who have wonderful relationships that we have seen grow over the last three books. This community is witty, warm and is a beautiful found family in the crazy world that isHollywood. Although I have said you do not need to read the other book to read this one, it is truly wonderful to know the characters well from the precious books.

Stella and Brandon have the most wonderful friendship built on seeing each other for who they truly are. Their relationship is built on trust and unwavering respect and admiration for each other. They are the definition of friends to lovers. They dance around the edges of what could be possible for them. The will they, won’t they is excruciating in the best way possible. It had me kicking my feet and grinning from ear to ear.

This book is a delightful read. It flows well with wonderfully real characters and has a heartfelt story. If you’re in a slump this I promise you will get you right out of it with a full hear and a massive grin on your face.

I completely got Stella. She’s the type of woman who can walk into any room and own it professionally, but the moment there’s a guy she actually likes, her brain short-circuits. The confidence disappears, and suddenly she’s questioning everything. I swear, half the things she asked Brandon were ripped straight from my own internal monologue 😭

“When it's about other people, I can see everything clearly. But the second it involves me—what I want, what I'm good at, whether someone's actually interested—my brain just shuts down. All that intuition disappears.”

Brandon was such a perfect balance to her chaos. Steady, patient, and just as oblivious to how obvious their chemistry was. Their friendship felt so genuine, and watching that slow shift into something more was perfect.

The Hollywood backdrop made everything feel extra sparkly without taking away from the heart of the story. It’s funny, sweet, and full of that “everyone sees it but them” energy I adore in a friends-to-lovers trope.

And now… I’m crossing my fingers for Natalie and Jake’s book because there’s definitely something brewing there 👀💞

Spoiler Free ARC Review!!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Behind the Scenes by Kimberly Page, and as a bookstore owner who is always hunting for books I can confidently hand-sell… this one absolutely fits the bill.

This felt like such a fun, cozy, behind-the-curtain kind of read. I loved the setting and the peek into the “offstage” moments where things are messy, emotional, and very real. The characters felt easy to sink into, and I found myself rooting for them pretty early on (always a good sign). The romance had great chemistry without being over-the-top, and the emotional beats hit in a way that felt genuine rather than forced.

It’s one of those books that’s perfect for when you want something engaging, romantic, and comforting but still layered enough to keep you turning pages. I know I’ll be recommending to customers who want a feel-good story with heart and depth.

Huge thank you to the author/publisher for the ARC—I’m so glad I got to read this early, and I can’t wait to put it into readers’ hands. 💕📚

✨ARC READER✨ Thank you to Love Notes PR and Kimberly Page for choosing me to be an ARC reader for this incredible love story.

These characters were so precious and wonderful. I always forget how much I enjoy reading a Friends to Lovers story until I get the opportunity to and this one was done so, so well! I adored Brandon and Stella both together and separately as characters.
Their chemistry is through the roof and I truly think that their existing friendship plays a huge part of it. They know each other so well, that it leaves hardly an inch for miscommunication (and they are so good at communicating with each other when they are honest with themselves). I love all of the side characters and just the overall dynamic of the different relationships.
I also think it’s worth it to say it was so nice to read a love story where they are both successful and happy with their work, and they support each other through every part of their journeys.
Just beautifully done.

Behind the Scenes by Kimberly Page is a charming, feel-good friends-to-lovers romance that delivers exactly what you want from a fake-dating setup: chemistry, warmth and just the right amount of emotional chaos. Kimberly Page keeps the tone light and engaging as two best friends find themselves thrown into agreeing to date to keep her mother happy - only to discover that pretending isn’t as easy as they thought.
The banter is effortless, the comfort between the characters feels lived-in, and watching their dynamic shift & the tension lift as Stella moves into Brandon’s apartment is half the fun. It’s a breezy, sweet read, with some delicious spice that gives you romantic tension without the heavy drama.
Perfect if you love modern romance with best-friend energy and a delightful fake-dating twist.
I always enjoy reading Kimberly Page's books, this is no exception!

With thanks to @lovenotes.pr & @iamkimberlyjpage for this ARC of Behind The Scenes.

I really enjoyed Stella and Brandon’s story.

Stella is super confident, sure of her abilities and hardworking in her professional life but like many of us, her personal life is a different story and I appreciated being about to relate to her in that way.

Brandon is someone who sees Stella for who she really is and not just the person she lets others see. That’s the kind of MMC that I will fall for over and over.

This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone and I promise you won’t feel like your missing out on anything, Kimberly wrote Behind the Scenes so you can easily just pick up the story and slip into the universe she created. She also once again proves that a book doesn’t need a ton of spice to be really good!

Tropes:
Friends to lovers
Fake dating
Age gap
Forced proximity
Open door
Slow burn
Hollywood Romance

Thank you Kimberly Page and Love Notes PR for the ARC opportunity 🫶

Stella Rhodes has built her career convincing Hollywood’s biggest stars to shine brighter, but at the age of 25, she can’t seem to convince her own mom, that she’s capable of finding love

She makes up a lie, that she probably shouldn’t have made – though there wouldn’t really have been a story if she didn’t😅

Now she needs a pretend boyfriend, and who’s better in that role, than her best friend and stuntman, Brandon Grimaldi?

Pretending to be in love is easy, isn’t it?
But what happens, when playing pretend suddenly changes into heat and the friendship takes a turn?

Is it all just another one of Hollywoods fake love stories or is this something real? Could they be more than just friends?

I’d say so, but what about you?

Are you into:
❤️Friends to lovers
🤭Fake dating
💋Forced proximity
🕰️Age gap

Then this is definitely the book for you!🤩

I received this book as an arc from the author.
This review is 100% voluntary❤️

Kimberly Page is a new auto-read author for me - I fell in love with her writing when I read On the Record earlier this year. Behind the Scenes is book four in her Backlot series, and I was SO thrilled to get Stella and Brandon’s story. Thank you Love Notes PR and Kimberly for the gifted copy!

Stella’s a Hollywood talent agent who needs a pretend boyfriend to appease her mom. Brandon’s a stuntman who’d do anything for Stella. Who better to play her fake boyfriend than her best friend? But when genuine sparks begin to fly, neither can tell fantasy from reality.

Stella and Brandon are ridiculously perfect together. There’s a special place in my heart for the friends to lovers trope, and this one is done so beautifully. They already deeply care about each other, and the switch from a platonic to romantic relationship just makes sense. Brandon gave me serious Ryan Gosling from The Fall Guy vibes (in the best way) and I loved watching him fall for Stella.
