This is a dark romance with dark themes. Each book in this series contains an HEA for the main couple. Although a part of a series with a subtle overarching plot that builds with each book until the world is complete, this story can stand alone.

I really enjoyed this book. It is my first time reading this author. I started with this book because of the OWYM trope, but now that I've read this one, I'll definitely go back and read the first and then the third.
The book was well written. There weren't a lot of editing errors to contend with so that is always a plus. The twins were awesome and the action was great. I think the book could have focused more on building chemistry between the Dina and Declan. Including scenes where they realize they're falling in love would have been nice too.
I wish there was a bit more spice. There was not a lot of sexual tension between Dina and Declan or build up. The intimate scenes were brief but still nice.
5/5 for not littering the book with AI writing patterns and styles. That always turns me off these days and I didn't find those patterns here. 4/5 Story. I could see the city they were discrijing. The politics, culture and dynamics were clear and made the read an easy one. 4/5 Editing. A few errors but nothing drastic 2/5 Spice. Low spice but still enjoyable
What a great series and book! This author has become a new favorite and will read anything she puts out. I read a lot and was in a book slump but I started the author’s The Sovereings series and I’m hooked and it brought me out of my slump. This one and the series will stay with me. The books are so great and this one did not disappoint. I can’t wait to read the next one and want more after that. Check out this author! I also never leave reviews so that should tell you how great the books and author is!! If I could give it 10 stars I would!
