As a developer, I usually find security books a bit preachy, but APPLICATION SECURITY is different. Y. N. Mahendra actually understands the software development lifecycle and where the pressure points are. The advice on how to identify and mitigate risks early on is very practical and easy to implement. I liked how the book treats application security as the central nervous system of a company, which is so true these days. It has helped us foster a lot more trust with our clients because we can show we are being proactive. The UK English spellings were a nice touch too, made it feel a bit more familiar. Definitely a favourite on my shelf for whenever I need to check a process or explain a risk to someone.

It is so easy to overlook how much our organisations rely on software until something actually goes wrong. I found APPLICATION SECURITY by Y. N. Mahendra to be an incredibly grounded guide for anyone dealing with that exact worry. Instead of just talking about high-level theories, it gives a proper roadmap for embedding security into the actual fabric of how we build things. It really helped me realise that security doesn't have to be this massive roadblock that slows everyone down. If you can organise your team to build security in from the start, it actually makes everything run much smoother. The book is very pragmatic and focuses on the real-world struggles we all face in the digital landscape today. A really solid, helpful read for the whole team.

We have been struggling with reactive fixes for ages, just patching vulnerabilities as they pop up like a game of whack-a-mole. Picking up this book by Y. N. Mahendra was a bit of a turning point for us. APPLICATION SECURITY explains a proactive paradigm that actually makes sense for a fast-moving dev team. It is not written in that dry, academic style you often find with technical books, which I really appreciated. It feels more like a guide for real people trying to manage risks in a stressful environment. The focus on making security a strategic business enabler was a real eye-opener for our leadership too. If you want to build a more resilient digital future, this is the roadmap you need to follow.

Every organisation needs to realise that their applications are the core of their business, and keeping them safe is vital. I found APPLICATION SECURITY to be a very enlightening read on how to do just that. Y. N. Mahendra provides a very pragmatic roadmap that focuses on changing behaviour rather than just following a checklist. The book is very comprehensive and covers all the major aspects of the software development lifecycle. It’s helped us mitigate vulnerabilities in a much more organised way and has fostered a lot of trust within our department. The style is very casual and easy to follow, making it a great resource for anyone from a junior dev to a business leader. A very honest and useful guide for today's digital world.

Definitely a solid resource for anyone trying to organise a more resilient digital future for their team or company."

"As someone who deals with compliance, I found the chapters on regulatory demands like HIPAA and GDPR very relevant. This book by Y. N. Mahendra explains the ""why"" behind the testing very well. It's quite a practical guide that focuses on the economic benefits of finding bugs early. We've often found flaws too late in the game, which costs a fortune to fix, so the ""shift-left"" philosophy mentioned here is spot on. The writing style is very casual and easy to follow, making it feel like advice from a peer. It’s a good, honest look at the struggles of modern software delivery and how to protect your brand."

This is a fantastic resource for software architects who want to bake security into the design phase. I’ve read a lot of manuals, but Application Security: A Strategic Roadmap by Y. N. Mahendra is much more about the strategic enablement. It’s helped me rethink how we handle threat modelling and component selection. The book is very grounded in the real-world experience of modern development cycles. There are some minor grammar bits that make it feel very human and authentic, which I actually liked. It doesn't feel like it was written by a robot or a marketing department. Very useful for anyone needing a clear, high-level roadmap for their organisation.

I picked this up because our company is undergoing a digital transformation and our security felt a bit behind. What I liked most about Y. N. Mahendra's book is how it addresses different roles, from the C-suite to the engineers. It makes it clear that everyone has a part to play. The book, Application Security: A Strategic Roadmap, is a very pragmatic guide. It helped me realise that we can use security as a competitive advantage rather than just a cost. It’s written in UK English which is a nice touch, and the tone is very calm and observational. Definitely worth a read if you want to mature your program.

For a short book, this covers a lot of ground regarding the lifecycle of an application. It’s not a technical manual for hackers, but a proper strategy guide for professionals. I appreciated the focus on automation and CI/CD pipelines. Y. N. Mahendra writes about the importance of immediate feedback for developers, which is something we’ve been trying to improve. The practical value here is high, especially for teams that are currently overwhelmed by vulnerability backlogs. It’s a relatable and honest look at the challenges we face in tech today. Good value for money and very easy to get through in a couple of sittings.

"This book really demystifies the whole AppSec world. I’m not a coder, but I work in product management and need to understand the risks we are taking. Application Security: A Strategic Roadmap by Y. N. Mahendra gave me the vocabulary to talk to our security analysts effectively. It’s helped us start integrating security requirements into our product roadmaps from the start. The book is very focused on real-world usefulness and avoiding the common pitfalls of ""bolting on"" security at the end. It’s a very helpful, grounded guide for anyone involved in software. I’d recommend it to any business leader who wants to protect their digital assets."

I’ve read a few books on cybersecurity, but many of them are so academic that they are hard to apply to real life. APPLICATION SECURITY by Y. N. Mahendra was different because it felt very grounded in the human experience of development. The roadmap for building a robust program is very detailed and gives you plenty of practical value to work with. It’s helped us realise that we can accelerate our work if we just change our behaviour toward security from the start. I appreciated the focus on building trust and making sure our applications are resilient for the long term. It’s a solid resource that I think any security professional or developer would find very helpful to have on their desk.
