PERFECT COMPANION TO THE This beautiful volume is a must-have for any Call of Duty fan.
Entry 741021; Deeeaaaarrrr Diary: Stunning presentation, absolutely packed with tons of high quality art (concept and official) from across the series. The volume is very hefty, and they did not cut corners on production quality. While lore of the series is touched on briefly throughout, written portions primarily focus on the production process, and heavily feature interviews with the development team. Tons of fascinating little tidbits on the developer's intent behind certain aspects of the series, maps, and mechanics, and even discussion of early intentions/cut content that never made it into the series officially (one very fun one is the mention that early in development of "Moon" for Black Ops, the model of earth visible in the skybox featured the continent of Pangea; meaning that the missiles launched at Earth at the end of the map Easter Egg were actually the cause of the extinction event that wiped out the dinosaurs).
Additionally, because the vast, vast majority of this volume's contents is comprised of direct quotes from interviews, and scans of genuine concept art, any potential involvement of generative AI in the production of this book would have little to no impact on the work.
In closing, I'm genuinely shocked at how high quality this is for the price, and would 100% recommend it to any fan of the series. 10/10.
