In a Nutshell: A comics collection featuring the adorable duo Milk and Mocha. Cute and light, but also repetitive and somewhat bland. The second book featuring Milk and Mocha. While this isn't bad, it also isn't memorable. I liked the first one better.

Milk and Mocha are the creations of Indonesian comic artist Melani Sie. This duo is quite popular on social media and are recognisable faces in several memes. However, reading a single comic is one thing and reading an entire comic collection is another.
The first book of the Milk & Mocha collection had the tagline “Our Little Happiness”. As such, it had a happier vibe, highlighting how little joys enhance our life. This book focusses on “Our Little Moments”. While the introductory note about the significance of little moments is amazing, the change in focus also means that the comics in this book are a little understated. They aim to be awww-inducing, but more often than not, they just felt like cyclical renditions of the same concept. The repetition is what mainly stops the book from being more memorable.
Most of the comics in this book are true to the theme of ‘little moments’. But there are two small story tracks as well: a small one showing how Mocha finds a new “pet”, and a longer one about the two bears going on a vacation to Bali. The former isn't utilised enough. The latter comes at the end of the book, and somewhat redeems the overall experience as we finally see novelty in the content.
Milk and Mocha are of course as sweet as ever. But as this collection contains no backstory about the duo, those unfamiliar with them might not understand certain things, such as why Mocha never speaks or why he always appears grumpy or why the pair sleeps with a little carrot plushie.
Yet again, the contrast between the two bears comes out strongly. Mocha is always serious and his love is more subtle and deep. Milk is the exact opposite, more open about verbalization of feelings. They present an interesting difference between strong silent love vs. exuberant demonstrative love, and highlight how both are equally powerful. I identify more with Mocha as I too am more about showing love through deeds than words.
The exact relationship between the pair is still not clarified, but it is clear that their bond is romantic. As their genders aren’t specified in any way, one can interpret their love story anyway one wants.
The illustrations are really sweet, which isn't a surprise as Milk and Mocha are the cutest characters. If you are familiar with their webcomics, then you already know what art is in store for you.
The physical book comes with a set of cute stickers featuring our little lovebirds. (lovebears?)
While this collection is sweet enough, I enjoyed the first comic collection “Milk and Mocha: Our Little Happiness” better as the comics in it were a bit more varied in tone. But if you like these bears, you might like this sequel too.
Recommended to fans of the duo. This book can make a nice romantic gift for special days such as anniversaries or Valentine’s day.

I just love these two bears so much. In the early days of my relationship, my boyfriend and I would send gifs of these two all the time. So whenever I see them I always smile. Its just so cute how pure these bears love is for one another.

you've probably seen milk & mocha comics floating around the internet (especially on pinterest) and this is basically a collection of more of those. it starts off with shorter strips, but as you go further, the panels get longer and more detailed. some don't even have any text, but they're still perfect 🥹💖
there are also tiny puns sprinkled throughout that you might miss if you're flying through the comics, but when you do catch them, it's such a lightbulb moment.
it's just milk & mocha in simple, everyday situations, being adorable in general 🥹🥹

Omg this was such a cute comic collection! I have seen short little snippets of Milk and Mocha cartoons over the internet and it was so fun to read the full collection! Most of the panels are wordless, but even without text the drawings really convey this message of finding joy and love in the small things in life. The drawings themselves were so cute, and story they told was really heartwarming and cute, along with really romantic interactions between the two bears. I thought it was so cute and lovely, and Milk and Mocha really show how when you're in a relationship, the little things are big. A morning kiss to the forehead, sharing a piece of cake when they look sad, cuddling together in a blanket, even being bored together and scrolling on the phone side by side (because why not lol)! This comic collection was really sweet, and overall 3 stars!

I received this book from Edelweiss/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.
The newest Milk and Mocha book and I was so delighted to see this one on Edelweiss! I just knew I had to have this one as I really loved the previous one. And since I left Twitter in 2024 I haven’t been able to find much Milk & Mocha (I occasionally came across them on Twitter).
In this one Milk & Mocha are back! Milk with their never ending energy and chats and Mocha the more quiet one who talks through tablets/phones/messages. I just love these two and their relationship and how sweet they are together. I also love that we see it isn’t always good and sweet, but then they talk/have a conversation and things are good again. They are really such a sweet couple and you are just rooting for them to stay together forever. Most of the comics are one shots (so one page) but there are also some multiple page comics. I love the mixture of that. Though I also wouldn’t mind just one or the other. As long as I get M & M content! Most of the comics are day to day things, from sharing memes to food to sleeping next to each other to eating cookies or making outfits for their pets. It was super cute, and also super relatable! A lot of things I recognise from my hubby and I. I am generally the chatterbox and he is the more quiet one. We each give the other love but I will be the one glomping him and cuddling him to death, much like how Milk is doing.
BTW I had such a laugh at one of the comics. Generally Milk is the more assertive of the two, always leaping and jumping and cuddling, but there was one comic that had them eating chocolate and Milk licking it away and Mocha taking initiative in a way that just broke Milk’s .exe.
Then there is Matcha (Milk’s pet), who at the start of the series was just not sure about Mocha and really clung to Milk but in this one we see him open up more to Mocha that had me in such happy elements. But there is a new little boy in the mix, say hello to Mustard a yellow toad! Mocha encounters him and as the story continues he keeps coming back and being adorable. I also loved seeing Matcha and Mustard interact (though it felt very much as if we were watching Milk & Mocha, haha).
The last story with our cute bears going travelling was just so perfect and adorable and sweet and I was just dying in cuteness and happiness. It was the perfect way to end this volume. Not with something short, no, a really fun travel story with them talking about their relationship, confessing, visiting places and having a good time, sweet blushes, and more.
Some of these panels/parts I want to print out and give to my hubby. Like the one on page 85: “When I close my eyes I go to my happy place and it always leads me to you.”
All in all, I desperately want more Milk & Mocha, this pair is just #relationshipgoals. Yes, I know they are bears, but we humans can learn from them. I would highly recommend this book (and the other one) to everyone!

Milk and Mocha are the main bear-y characters of the story. Their little happy moments really reminded me of the simple pleasures of life. And OF COURSE, the absolutely marvellous mind flutteringly cute art style was GORGEOUS 🐻🧸🍬🍭🩷
Genuinely, a kind of book that needs no notes, no hastle and takes you away in the lucid, small world where you genuinely learn to live and actually appreciate life and wall that it gives you. I am ENAMOURED by this short sweet tale, and I hope you are too.

I absolutely LOVE how sweet and cute Milk and Mocha are. I actually cried at one of the multi-page spreads, it hit that hard. Some of the others were a swing and a whiff for me, so not quite as in love with this volume as with the first one, but both are worth the read.
The artwork is gentle, the characters are adorable and the slice of life vignettes relatable.

This was the perfect book for me! I absolutely adore Milk and their straightforward love for Mocha! I truly needed something like this in my life. ^^'
I'm not sure if this title is queer or not, but I choose to view it as such; and I must say that this collection contains not only beautiful friendship moments, but also love. (my favourites are their holiday trip and the little snippets with Mustard and his inclusion into the family). Mocha's disability( again, I presume that's the reason he communicates in that manner) isn't an impediment in their relationship with Milk ; and despite them being more reserved and quiet, they too show through little actions how much they value Milk. (yes, he's my favorite of the 2; and i even dare to say, the more well-rounded character)
It was heart-warming to see both of them taking space and being themselves in these stories.^^
This little book talks about family, love, connection and, most importantly, making memories and acknowledging the here and now. :) The art is cute, on point and I would say bright! The pacing of the panels is just right and the jokes always land. :)))
Why 4.5? I wanted a little more from the Mustard plotline..that's it.^^'

This was the perfect book for me! I absolutely adore Milk and their straightforward love for Mocha! I truly needed something like this in my life. ^^'
I'm not sure if this title is queer or not, but I choose to view it as such; and I must say that this collection contains not only beautiful friendship moments, but also love. (my favourites are their holiday trip and the little snippets with Mustard and his inclusion into the family). Mocha's disability( again, I presume that's the reason he communicates in that manner) isn't an impediment in their relationship with Milk ; and despite them being more reserved and quiet, they too show through little actions how much they value Milk. (yes, he's my favorite of the 2; and i even dare to say, the more well-rounded character)
It was heart-warming to see both of them taking space and being themselves in these stories.^^
This little book talks about family, love, connection and, most importantly, making memories and acknowledging the here and now. :) The art is cute, on point and I would say bright! The pacing of the panels is just right and the jokes always land. :)))
Why 4.5? I wanted a little more from the Mustard plotline..that's it.^^'

Milk & Mocha Comics Collection was one of those comics I was instantly drawn to just by looking at the cover. The artwork is so adorable and cozy that I knew immediately I wanted to read this cozy comic book. 😭❤️
In the introduction is talked about how it’s often the most ordinary things, the quiet moments, the warmth of doing nothing together, that mean the most to us. And honestly, I couldn’t have described it better myself. That is exactly how this book feels. Reading it almost feels like opening a beautifully coloured cozy coloring book. I caught myself slowly flipping through the pages while being wrapped in a blanket, holding a warm cup of tea, with a lovely scented candle burning nearby every time reading it. Pure comfort!
Milk & Mocha themselves are just unbearably cute 🥹 Truly, too adorable for words. Their little moments together capture so many familiar feelings in such a soft, gentle way. Doing nothing together, being there and loving each other quietly. All those moments feel incredibly relatable, and they're told with so much sweetness and warmth.
This comic is about all those small, everyday moments. The moments that often go unnoticed, yet mean everything. And it tells them in the most cozy and heartwarming way possible. I adored every minute of it. 🥰❤️

Prima di tutto e per correttezza ci tengo a precisare che ho avuto questo libro gratuitamente tramite Net-Galley.
Questo è il primo albo che leggo di Milk & Mocha e devo dire che sono assolutamente adorabili.
Li ho conosciuti tramite i social media e ho deciso di provare a leggere i fumetti.
Non me ne sono pentita.
Per degli adolescenti o bambini è un'ottima lettura, ma anche per adulti che vogliono staccare; che desiderano un po' di sano escapismo. I disegni sono assolutamente fantastici e i personaggi adorabili, ma la cosa che più mi ha sorpresa è il fatto che ti lascia con il sorriso sulle labbra mentre lo leggi. Penso che questa sia una qualità estremamente sottovalutata, oggigiorno, dove c'è un po' l'ossessione di rendere per forza tutto gritty e realistico. Una volta finita la lettura ero legittimamente felice, è stata una bellissima esperienza.
L'unico punto secondo me negativo è il prezzo, che considero un po' alto. Capisco che dietro a ogni striscia ci sia una quantità di lavoro elevata, quindi non sto dicendo che è ingiustificato, ma bisogna guardare in faccia alla realtà: i prezzi di tutto stanno salendo, continuamente e non sembra esserci una fine. Leggere non dovrebbe essere un lusso, ma purtroppo tende a passare in secondo piano rispetto ad altri bisogni, per cui credo che un prezzo più abbordabile permetterebbe a più persone di godersi la lettura.

Overall this is a cute book with fun characters. I liked the cute illustrations and the short format to this book. It's very sweet. The characters are very lovable. This comic book is absolutely adorable and full of heart. It is warm, comforting, and such a joy to read. I loved every moment of it.
The illustrations are beautiful and really bring the story to life. The artwork adds so much charm and emotion to the experience.

This time, we even get to see them go on vacation, which was super cute. I didn't love it quite as much as the first one, but I still adore reading about these two bears living their life and would happily read more anytime.

I used to see the comics in Instagram and have always loved them. They are the cutest lil pair. The comics are so relatable and cute. I love them so much.

Melani Sie does a fantastic job at conveying so much soul and relatable sincerity into this comic. For a book without many words, it really drives home the message of taking the time to enjoy the little moments in your life that might not seem like anything important or major at the time.
In these times of seemingly unending horrific news cycles, this was a much needed jolt of heartwarming positivity 💖
I related hard to Milk’s chaotic energy, but there is a LOT of Mocha in me too!
Highly recommend this if you need a little pick me up, or a reminder to slow down and take in the little things.
