Get those highlighters out, this book is jam packed with information! I’ve read a lot of dog training books, and this is one of my favorites. I have two dogs, one is three and the other is four, and I started applying what I’ve learned right away. This book just made behaviors and training make sense. It has so many trainings that you need to breathe and do things one step at a time because it can all be overwhelming, but the information is good and the training is worth it! I’ve already seen a change in my high-energy Goldendoodle!
Thank you Simon & Schuster and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review the ARC of this book.

A comprehensive guide to learning about dog behavior and your dog’s personality traits, as well as an extensive training guide. There are dozens of skills to train with your dog, broken down into a step by step guide which can be an excellent resource to return to, even after you finish reading the text.
Highly recommend if you are looking for guidance on a new dog, or even one(s) that have been in your family for years.
Lots of great advice here for those getting a new dog. For those of us who have had dogs for a while, it's a VERY good reminder of all the techniques that actually work. The most important for me is remembering not to get upset with a dog in distress (lunging, barking, etc.), which is a fairly typical reaction that will only reinforce the bad behavior.
Thanks so much to Simon & Schuster, via NetGalley, for this ARC! (Moxie Crimefighter and Ruby Tuesday send lots of slobbery kisses!)
I adore dogs but haven't had one since my teens. Still, that precious cover drew me in and the valuable content made me wonder if I might also apply some of these principles to "training" my beloved kitten. Recommended!
