My One Night Fake Date: A Surprise Pregnancy Billionaire Romance

Rate this book
I save a stranger’s life, fake-date her out of spite, and fall in love right before everything implodes.

I’m watching Marie Dubois, the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen, start choking in a restaurant, and the man she’s with abandons her.

I don’t. I save her life, walk her home, and spend one reckless, perfect night I never stop thinking about.

She’s clear it’s a one-night stand.

I’m not so sure.

When she needs a fake date to survive a work gala, I think it’s my chance to charm her properly.

Instead, I fall, through fake smiles, stolen kisses, Paris mornings, and the quiet moments that turn pretend into something real.

That’s when my family intervenes, quietly arranging a power marriage to protect the empire.

She hears about it before I can explain.

By the time I realize I’m already in love, she’s gone without a word.

Months later, I learn she’s pregnant. With twins.

And the dates don’t lie.

It started off strong then sorta went insta love then idk just went side ways kept reading it cuz I was curious how it would end. I liked that she was French. but the female main character in her inner thoughts starts calling her mother by her first name was odd to me..

Derek and Marie are great. Marie's sarcasm and humor are top tier. I understand taking the tough points of life and laughing through them. Plus, when life gets away from you, and you're stumbling... it's nice to have that person you can lean on. Add in your mom and their superpower of bringing that chaos to the surface and helping you heal. Perfect.

A great read. I'd recommend if you're looking for laughs, tears, and a man that will be there no matter what.

One Night Fake Date Joy Carlisle
This book by Joy Carlisle is instantly immersing and all . With her writing I always have a ball and not bawl unless it’s with glee for an happy ending you see .There’s a pregnancy surprise for our billionaire but the fake date doesn’t share . Nor seem to care . But she’s been got at by someone close to him and things are from rosy ,in fact a little grim because they have a match for him . A power marriage is on the cards and his heart seems to have been discarded though when did he leave it unguarded? Marie seems to have gone wet fish and Derek thinks he caught a dish. But why is she now cold ? But woah up a little I’m getting ahead ,here’s what went on before they even went to bed …She’s on a date when she starts to choke , the bloke on the other side of the table ups and scarpers and a stranger steps in to enable her breath and save her from sudden death . A handsome face that was mesmerising. They hit it off ,don’t they half! She’s sassy and can have a laugh . He’s mesmerised instantly and those eyes..She asks him to fake date her save face because of her ex at the same event and not quite her element . She’s secure enough in herself but she’s not wanting to appear on the shelf. It goes swimmingly and all they have a ball dating ,mating too …phew 😮‍💨 But what’s surprising is a sudden about face that’s anything but a laugh. When a one night stand is mighty and grand and a smile emits on demand ,life is great for a while but now why has it suddenly gone stale? His family is vile and they will do all in their power to fight dirty and send her packing and keeping her news to herself she feels bruised and not amused puts herself out of harms way . Goes away ,it’s for the best ,it was good for a while but she’s not in his league and never will be that’s clear to his family….Shes running scared but he’s not as out of sync as she does think . He loves her ,he’s no fink! She’s got a secret weapon of her own her keeps her sane and grounded and not dumbfounded. Is there a place for them against all the odds . They feel at odds both in their life with their current positions their jobs being an imposition. Perhaps they have a mission to put them first and besides he’s worked up quite a thirst for this lady who’s far from a malady. The writing is divine as ever the attraction is tang heat with a little banter and fun. He falls first ,he’s undone.

This is another great book by Joy Carlyle! She has a way of bringing together mismatch characters and shaping them in place through humour, spice, drama, delicious banter, and making them feel like the couple next door!

This new book revolves around Marie and Derek, and it will hook you from their first page. The story starts with a bang, as Derek rescues Marie from an anaphylactic accident, and she responds to his efforts with sassiness and laughter. He is immediately attracted, so when she asks to be his fake date to an event he accepts, and that leads to an unforgettable night. And the story starts here. She doesn't know he is a billionaire with politics, and empire, a dominating family. He doesn't know she will test his wills through banter, sassiness, passion, and her clumsiness.

Marie will capture your heart from the get go. Her personality is electric, she is funny, caring, scattered, but secure of herself. Derek is the savior, the stable ground, the protector, and the one who will finally help to bring Marie together.

I am not going to give more away of this book, because you need to read it! The plot is tender, funny, with tension, passion, a few hard moments but with this sweet love story!

This is the story of Derek and Marie and my first by this author. It was pretty good. Derek is a billionaire businessman in charge of his family’s business and his sole focus is on carrying on the family name as dictated by his parents.

Marie is also in business but falls short when she gets involved with Derek and his family does everything possible to gift her unemployment. They have dedicated years into appropriating the perfect wife for Derek, and she is not it. Her fiancé has broken up with her and found another and she has a one time tryst with Derek resulting in pregnancy. The grind… she’s not sure who the father is… her former fiancé or Derek. She goes off the grid and leaves Chicago because she believes she will ruin Derek. He, however, cannot forget Marie and sets out to find her.

There was something very soothing about this authors writing. This story was pretty vanilla which usually isn’t my cuppa, but it was written in such a loving and soothing way I found it very pleasing. Their love story was beautiful. 4 1/2🌟🌟🌟🌟

I particularly loved this fake date story because Derek is not your typical billionaire CEO. He has all the skills and talent of a CEO but not the passion, and that makes this story stand out among all the other fake date stories.

Marie's story begins with a disappointing date & a dramatic allergic reaction. Both Derek & Marie ultimately find their career & personal passions despite life's serious challenges & family impediments.

And Claire, Derek's sister represents all those people who work so hard to realize their destiny, yet seem doomed to ever actually realize it.

This book gives anyone who feels their life is already cast in stone hope that anything is in fact possible. I felt real joy at the end of the book when I read how Derek & Marie both realized their real hopes & dreams.

“My Fake One Night Date” was so good. Kept me reading through the night. Crazy meet up at start of story in a restaurant when Marie has an allergic reaction at dinner and her date takes off. Derek comes to her rescue. What a start to this book and with with exciting happenings throughout until the joyful ending. You can understand why I couldn’t put it down. Both Marie and Derek are in jobs that make them unhappy and cant seem to take the step to do something else. You will care for these two to find their way to each other and to having a great life. I know I did. Loved it.

I can't fake my love for this book.

When Derek saves Marie, it’s funny and hot from the start. Marie’s sarcasm is so witty & funny, she’s clumsy and thinks she’s chaotic but Derek is her rock. There is high family & boardroom drama and lots of love with support too. I couldn’t put it down until the last page. I think it’s now my favorite book by Joy Carlyle.

A great read! MMC saves MFC when she chokes on a nut. They hit it off and later decided it was a mistake. However, she needed a handsome date to a huge gala because her ex RSVP’d a plus one. He was more than willing to accommodate her. FMC is sarcastic, clumsy, and a great of fresh air. MMC is a billionaire and her night in shining armor. They are great together. Then she finds out she’s pregnant. Well written and very enjoyable read.

My One Night Fake Date by Joy Carlyle is the Love, Lies and Billionaires series. Marie and Derek's story was so much fun to read. Their story started off with her having an allergic reaction to eating a nut free salad. From there it only got better. I loved it and couldn't stop reading. This is another great romance by Joy Carlyle!.

Life is messy, full of laughter, turmoil, and love; this book captures it all beautifully. Joy’s characters feel real, their moments bursting with humor, heart, and passion. I found myself rolling my eyes one moment, laughing out loud the next, and happily swept up in their world from start to finish.

Loved it!

A really good story with great characters. I appreciated the character development and that this was not the usual billionaire trope. My teeny tiny complaint came with the overuse of the word existential. Also, kind of different that Samantha’s husband did not have a name and that Marie’s dad was barely mentioned until the very end. Good story though!

Oops who is the father?

Marie meets Derrick when her Timber Date desserts her while she is dying from an allergic reaction to walnuts in her salad. They have a one night stand that results in him possibly being the father if not her ex! Lots of twists and turns funny messy moments that make you feel connected to both characters!! Wonderful story ! I highly recommend!!!

Uhhh I liked this! I enjoyed both of our main characters Derek and Marie. Their relationship very wholesome, it was definitely a bit insta lovey but I actually didn’t mind that too much in this!
I enjoyed the writing style overall however i think the book was a bit dragged out by the end, I wouldn’t have minded it a bit shorter.

Overall a fun read with wholesome moments🫶🏻🫶🏻

Although the theme fake date night/billionaire/common girl/baby is widely explored by many authors I found this book entertaining, well-written, with lots of good humor, only a few sort of steamy parts (books in the genre tend to overdo it), and actually with a good plot/story.
I thank the author for the free copy of this book.

I throughly enjoyed this book. I can identify with Marie, clumsy. I can also get her panic and freaking out over meeting Derek. And then the media, the pregnancy and how everything happened with Atlas. My favorite part is probably that he fell first and hard.

Loved Marie and Derek’s Story

This book was funny, heartbreaking, and a great read. Always love when characters fit together so well but struggle independently to find their life’s purpose.

I tried so hard to power through this book. Zero chemistry between main characters. Kept thinking they’d develop but it just fell flat.

4 stars for the first half of the book: refreshing story line and interesting characters, with a funny vibe. But the second half was chaotic and long-winded.

Another 5 star read by Joy Carlyle. I absolutely loved this book. Derek and Marie have such an amazing story. I love the chemistry and banter between them. Derek went to great lengths to be with Marie. I love how he never gave up. Its like it was meant to be. I didn't want to put it down. I highly recommend this story and author!
