First things first—I'm a devoted husband to my beautiful wife, Sonja, and a proud father to three incredible children: Isabel, Jackson, and Josef. Our family also includes a slightly unhinged pit bull named Milo and a one-eyed beagle fittingly named "Wink." We are "our very own island of misfit toys."
For nearly 30 years, I've dedicated myself to a fundamental truth: every real estate agent is a small business owner. Since entering the industry in 1997, I've worked with leadership teams across multiple Chicagoland brokerages, learning what makes entrepreneurial ventures thrive—knowledge earned through building, failing, adapting, and ultimately succeeding alongside thousands of agent-entrepreneurs.
On January 6, 1991, I got sober. That decision shaped everything that followed, including my approach to business and the principles I would eventually teach.
I wrote UP - A Journey of Intention, Focus & Execution because the same discipline that maintained my sobriety could transform any entrepreneur's business. Recovery taught me that sustainable change doesn't come from complexity or secret formulas—it comes from showing up every day with intention, maintaining extreme focus on what matters, and executing the fundamentals with ruthless consistency.
