Although not entirely what I expected this book to be, it did have a lot of valuable information. I have read a lot of books on menopause and was hoping this one would have more recipes and advise on nourishment rather than being an overview of menopause. So for me, this book wasn't as useful but for others just starting to research or explore the topic, this is a good read.
There is a lot of information here regarding all of the stages and experiences surrounding the perimenopausal and menopausal periods including sleep and hot flashes and Andrea Donsky does try to tie the symptom back to vitamins that would support a person's wellness and health in every area.
There are also a lot of lifestyle strategies, as mentioned in the cover notes, regarding mental health, stress and sleep, amongst others. I think I took the work nourishment as very focused on food intake where it was meant broadly which will be helpful for many.
There were spots I would have loved some dietary expansion, for example places where a lack of gallbladder were noted but not expanded on as much as I would have benefited from.
In general, it is a great resource with a plethora of information and then unfortunately only having a few recipes at the end.
In this day of information being readily available, look here for advice on Nourishing Menopause.

We are lucky to be living in a time when menopause is finally being talked about and written about. While there are more and more resources available it is nice that they are also becoming more specific in nature. This book, Nourishing Menopause, dives into nutrition and lifestyle suggestions and provides solutions for this period of unpredictable fluctuations. Food is medicine after all, and eating on point is one of the best steps we can take to create a solid foundation for this period in our lives. This book offers up nutritional advice that goes a long way towards helping us feel our best and fuel for the best, but it also delves into how nutrition ties in to skin health, sleep habits and other crazy menopausal symptoms. This is a great resource to add to your midlife toolkit!

I think this is a great resource for any woman, especially those entering perimenopause and menopause. The author doesn’t just tell us how to nourish our body during this time, but also explains why it’s important and discusses the changes it can help address. I think it’s a great support for women entering this stage. I loved the inclusion of recipes as well and look forward to trying them.

I won a copy of this in a Goodreads giveaway and was hoping to learn more about menopause. It did give a super basic overview of menopause but some of the solutions were unrealistic and I’m not sure I learned enough to make it worth my time.
