The epic climax of the Gi-Qin war. Kingdom's forte is its characters. Each of them has a unique personality, especially the shoguns, each trying to prove their philosophy on the battlefield.
Hara's work exposes leadership, motivation, honor, and the horrors of war. War is ugly, but within that ugliness, heroes are born, and strategies are proven.

Battles revolve around their generals, we're told in this volume. So I guess this series is really, deep down in its very core, a shonen battle manga - two great generals duking it out with army-sized hands and feet. Matching power against power and technique against technique and instinct against strategy.

In which case the main character would, as of now, be a single joint of a pinky-finger that managed to poke the enemy in the eye.

Good fight.

This Wei war arc comes to a close, as the battle becomes less about Shin and the soldiers to instead be about the generals, Hyou and Gokei! They have a tense battle and Shin finally begins to understand what being a "general" means (after spending his whole life dreaming of being the greatest general). I like that Heki is also proving to be a pretty sensible dude.

The climax of the second great battle of the series and Xin finally learning the make up of generals rather than just being an angry, angsty teen. Maybe my favorite volume since the coup but this series once again just keeps delivering

The overall battle was very well detailed and I could feel the emotions coming off the pages. Things are progressing nicely.
