This was so fast paced and action packed! I loved the world building and different creatures in the world and some of them were seriously so creepy! I definitely can't wait for the next book in this series, I am so excited to see where the story goes. I definitely am excited to see Rhea learn more about her powers and how to control them! There are dragons in this but they only really show up at the end so I am excited to get more of them too! The romance between Rhea and Haedion was so sweet but it is truly just the beginning and they have a long way to go. This book is low spice so far. I also loved some of the side characters, especially Bastian, your typical loveable goofy friend character. This is seriously such a solid debut!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars, I could not put this book down!! The perfect rainy day romantasy read with a great plot balance of fantasy and romance. Haedion and Bastian’s dynamic reminded me of Shrek and Donkey, the goofball and serious character on a mission. I don’t think I’ve ever loved a side character as much as I love Bastian, he’s hilarious! There were so many times that I could feel my heartbeat picking up as the trio got themselves into stressful situations, they felt so real! All in all, this is an amazing book with captivating imagery, and the perfect amount of romance for the first book in what will be an incredible series. I cannot wait to see what is next for Rhea and Haedion in book two!!

I had the honor of being able to arc read this amazing story . so lets start
this book was a fast paced , slow burn , holding my breath , yelling wtf , and omg, the author not only had me in a chokehold with the element of surprise with each chapter. i could not put this book down until my words where blurry and i could not read any more. i was searching for a word to describe how the feel of this felt to me and the only words that came into play is dungeons and dragons turned into a slow burn romantasy. i loved every bit of it . there is so much growth to be seen for the next books coming and i cant wait . oh and if you love carrien from quicksilver you will love bastian in this book. rhae i can't wait to see her growth in her character and haedion , he will tug on your heart strings and i can't wait to see where she take him aswell. i will not leave any spoilers but this book had me page turning addicted on the edge of my seat , shaking . give this a chance and i am sure you will see what i have seen in this book. i am ready for book 2.

spice level : still in a slow burn (and that is a okay)
fast paced
magic
dragons
shadows
action packed
shock factor
wtf moments
touch them ( her and friends) and prepare to die

all and all just go read it....... after all reading is subjective and my opinion is i loved this!!!!

Ashborne is a captivating and fast paced fantasy. The world building is unique and you will form an instant attachment to the characters. Rhea is my favorite character. Her story is heartbreaking, but she overcomes all the challenges that are put in front of her, even when it doesn’t seem possible. Her loyalty to those she loves is inspiring, even if it can get her in trouble. I can’t wait to see what is next for Rhea. I would highly recommend picking up Ashborne if you are looking for a fast paced, captivating and bingeable fantasy.

I really enjoyed this book, especially Haedion’s character and the chapters written from his point of view. The storyline itself was intriguing and very fast-paced, which kept me engaged from the beginning. Jaycie does a phenomenal job painting a vivid picture of the world, making it easy to visualize the setting and feel immersed in it. At times, the amount of descriptive words used was a bit overwhelming. Unfortunately, the book contained several spelling and editorial errors, which was somewhat disappointing. Overall, the characters and storytelling made this an enjoyable and captivating read. I’m excited to see where the story goes!

What an incredible book to start the year on :)

I had been lucky to read a couple of books as ARCs or from Debut authors, and unfortunately, they weren't my cup of tea, but this year I have been grateful to have 2 to start the year, 1 being Ashbourne.

I got to join this journey with Jaycie through our love of reading when she told me she was writing a book. I have been so damn proud of her because being an author is every reader's dream, but not many achieve it. I promise, as a reviewer, that this review is 100% truthful, even if I do want success for Jaycie.

I can say with 100% certainty that I can't wait for this story to continue because I didn't just fall for the main characters; I fell for all the characters, and if I could have a side story for each one, I would. Bastian is a lovable golden retriever character that loves fiercely and is beyond loyal. The necrosycthe gives me the suriel vibes, but not because of similarities, but because of the love we all have for suriel, the monster that had a heart, which is how I see Necrosycthe: he likes the monster grandfather, that's wise, and guides the good guys to what I hope is a glorious victory. I waited to meet scary beings that collectors (creepy), but I found a soft, lovable, majestic being that I can't wait to see how powerful he is. But I swear to God, Jaycie, if you hurt a scale/hair on his head, I'm flying to you for revenge (jokes but serious)

Nafre surprised me too because I didn't think I would care for her, but I so badly want a happy ending for her, whatever it looks like x

For me, it's the main characters who normally get all the attention, and I do adore them. But in this story i feel like I'm just as invested in all of the characters, even Ka'an, why he is so evil compared to you know who, haha. I'm in love with so many characters that I feel like it's impossible for me not to leave this series (hoping for quite a few) heartbroken at some point.

This book has a great pace and kept me engaged the whole time, with plenty of adventures and complications along the way. The story continues to build without a dull moment. If time allowed, I wouldn’t have put the book down. I loved how both the story and the love interests develop naturally, not feeling rushed. Without spoiling the story, I’m excited to see what happens as she learns more about her special gifts and what they mean for the fae people and for her relationships as well.

I had so much fun reading this book! At times, I came across editing errors that were distracting, but the overall pace and readability got me back on track quickly. The chemistry between characters and the intricacies of their stories were unexpected in a debut. I am excited to see both the story and author grow!
