As a park of the 31 Days of Trick or Treat: Biker & Mobster series, The Reaper’s Vow can be read as a standalone by Avelyn Paige. This is a shifter, monster romance with darkish themes, but no major trigger warnings.
Katrina’s family has kept a secret from her her entire life, but that secret comes to light at the worst possible time. Being at the wrong place at the wrong time lands Katrina witnessing something that will change her life forever and delivers her right into the arms of Damien. Damien is known as the Reaper for a reason, his life is violent and blood soaked, as the enforcer for the Bellandi Family he has done terrible things, but nothing as ever had him questioning his job. Until Katrina. She’s a witness and a liability, one could cause chaos to his world, but something about her is causing him to pause his orders. Something more.
Entire the world of shifters and wolves, to mafia families and suspense, Avelyn Paige has done it again. The Reaper’s vow was a fast paced, intense read that was filled with drama and intrigue. While the book was fast paced, I wish there was a little more to the characters, it felt like they were almost unfinished towards the end. Damien and Katrina had loads of chemistry and really made the storyline full, but something just felt like it was missing. Interested to see what else will be a part of these 31 days things.

The Reaper’s Vow was such an amazing and intriguing read that truly stuck with me! From the first chapter, I was completely pulled into Damien and Karina’s dark, fast-paced world. The mix of mob tension, shifter politics, and sizzling chemistry made this one impossible to put down.
Damien is everything you want in a brooding, dangerous MMC—ruthless on the outside but surprisingly loyal and protective underneath. And Karina? I loved her strength and how she refused to stay broken. Their connection was magnetic and raw, especially as they navigated danger, betrayal, and desire in equal measure.
The story itself is exciting, full of drama, action, and a touch of darkness that keeps the pages flying. Crimson Howl made the perfect setting, and every scene felt vivid and alive. My only small gripe was the name mix-up with one of the villains, but it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the ride.
A fantastic addition to the 31 Days of Trick or Treat world—intense, sexy, and full of twists. Definitely one that’s going to stay on my mind for a while!

This is the story of Damien and Karina. This is a paranormal and our two main character's are wolves. Karin does not know much at all about being a wolf and all that is involved. Now she is a girl just out for a night of fun to forget everything and see some things and someone she shouldn't. Damien is known as the Reaper by everyone that is around him. And he doesn't leave lose ends ever. He is also the owner of the club that she decides to blow some steam off in and ends in deep trouble. When they first meet things are very interesting to say the least. But things are about to just fall in place that lead to these two spending a whole lot of time together and get closer. This book has a lot going on in it. You will be highly entertained by all the twist and turns that happen in this book. It am not the biggest paranormal reader out there. But I decided to give this one a try and ended up really loving it.

This was a great story about discovering who you are and where you fit in the world around you.
Damian was sent to another pack by his father to be their enforcer, Reaper. When a witness sees what he is doing he tracks her down, only to discover she is his mate. The problem? She knows nothing about pack life, traditions, mates, or even shifting.
For a packless female who was raised in the human world, the hits come fast and furious.
This book was a great and interesting read. The one negative for me was the incomplete picture of what happened to the fmc's parents, otherwise a truly good story.

After witnessing a murder, Karina goes on the run initially from and then with the Reaper. We have violence, pack politics, shifter romance, and a whole lot of brooding MMC. Loyalties and alliances are tested, while Karina and the Reaper find a way for her to survive, and thrive.
I thought the story itself was great and the trigger warnings covered every possible thing they could. My only big issue was that one of our villains' names kept changing. We had Thomas Lockwood for half the book, the Thomas Blackwood the other half, but then Thomas Lockwood again in the epilogue.

Holy shit! Karina has been working hard to hide certain things but one meeting with Damien cracks it wide open!!
Whilst out on a job for his boss he gets more than he bargains for when he bumps into Karina! Sweet Jesus!! This book! Their connection is *chef’s kiss!!
The twists and turns literally had my nerves on the edge!! And my heart? Nearly beating out of my chest!!

Wonderfully dark and mysterious, the opening of this story was captivating. Then moment Damien and Karina meet is charged with tense and unknown effects, as she stumbles across something she should not have seen. As the story progressed the chemistry between could not be denied and choices made. I loved the twists and turns of this plot as it kept me on the edge of my seat. This book is definitely with a read.

A dark paranormal shifter romance? YES please! A book written by Avelyn Paige? SAY LESS! Karina was trying to have a night of freedom and happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and sees something she wasn't supposed to see. Damien doesn't make mistakes or leave loose ends but Karina, she just so happens to be a loose end and so much more. This is a fast paced story that pulled me in from the beginning as Evelyn always does and I can not stop gushing about her writing!

Damien and Karina’s story was a wild fun ride that grabs your attention from the very beginning and keeps a hold on you til the end. I loved the supernatural twist on this mafioso read that gives it even more intrigue and Damien is just pure perfection. Karina was an incredible character that was fierce. She had this tenacity that you just love and the connection her and Damien have is intense. This was a fun and exciting read I didn’t want it to end but was curious to how it would play out.

I loved this story, it's full of danger, secrets, twists that are unexpected and wonderful characters. I want more of these characters and this world.

I really enjoyed this book. It draws you in from the very start to the very beginning! Karina was in the wrong place at the wrong time. And that starts her drama, but gives her more than she could ever want! Damien was drawn to her from the start. They were perfect for each other. This book has all the excitement, twists, turns and drama. I highly recommend it!!

This story pulled me in from the start. Damien and Karina live in a fast paced world and that world is dark and kinda crazy. So much happens so quickly and the story is so fast paced it made it hard to quit reading. Karina being in the wrong place at the wrong time and now Damien has to get her so maybe wrong place, right time. So much drama ... but such a journey they go on.

Not huge on paranormal-were stories but this book was so good. Thrown together in a rush, Damien and Karina's live change one chance encounter and the drama doesn't stop there. The tension is high and the HEAT is hotter. I couldn't put it down!
The other half of my soul - swoon! Loved their bond. The writing was good and the story overall I enjoyed.

Damien and Karina's story is face paced, drama filled, the characters are great and I couldn't stop turning the pages. Crimson Howl is neutral ground, and Karina was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Damien catches her scent and just can't let her go. Their journey is incredible, streamy, truths come to light and strength. I can't wait for what's next.

I thought this was an intriguing story. Karina goes to a club with her friend where everyone has to wear masks. No one knows anyone's identity, but she can detect all the shifters in the space.
When trying to escape the attention from a stranger, she stumbles across a crime taking place and which then puts another target on her back.
Damien hunts her down only to discover that they are mates. From then on, he does what he can to help protect her, despite the pack rules.
There's plenty of drama, action, shifter politics and a little romance too. I liked the main characters, and enjoyed the way the story played out!
