Lucia Deluca built her empire from the ground up. In New York’s glittering skyline, she is the woman people admire, envy, and never dare to cross.

Power is her armor, and control is the only thing she trusts.

Then Sloane Vaughn walks into her life. Freshly graduated, ambitious, and far too curious for her own good, Sloane is determined to make her mark as a reporter. Shadowing one of the city’s most powerful women should be the opportunity of a lifetime, but Lucia Deluca is nothing like she expected.

What begins as professional tension soon turns into something charged and undeniable. Lucia is everything Sloane swore she would never fall older, intimidating, and emotionally untouchable. Yet the closer they get, the harder it becomes to keep their worlds from colliding.

Unraveled is a story about power and surrender, about two women learning that love can be both a risk and a revelation.

It is the first installment in the Untamed Hearts series, a collection of sapphic interconnected standalones that explore love, ambition, and identity through bold, emotionally charged stories.

I had the strangest reaction to this book... right at the end, I got this intense déjà vu feeling, like I'd read those exact lines before. They felt so familiar, not new at all, which made me wonder: was this originally fanfiction, or is it just me?

Honestly, I'm surprised I finished it because it's pretty cheesy and full of clichés, but Andie's prose kept me hooked. It's not flowery or lyrical, but so addictive that I had to keep reading. A richer, more creative plot could've pushed this way past 3 stars, but honestly? It still worked surprisingly well. That's a real win considering everything!

it’s not bad per say, but it does read like an unedited fanfiction from wattpad in 2014. with that being said, i was thoroughly invested, which says more about my type of woman than it does the quality of the book.

This book is really good.

I bought it on a whim after seeing a TikTok about it, and I was not disappointed.

I adored the dynamic between Lucia, a perfectly crafted ice queen, and Sloane, the persistent rookie journalist who’s set on melting her defenses. Watching their professional relationship grow into something more was a genuine delight.

The writing and pacing are excellent for a debut novel, and I can't wait to read more in this series.

Overall, do not hesitate to read this one. You are sure to have a great time.

Wow

I feel satiated. That was a whole range of emotions that had me high. The characters are well written. Their backstories are intriguing, full of quality. Even the best friends are just fun. The drama was intense. Ex-girlfriends that currently date men shouldn't be acknowledged. Especially if they did some malicious stuff as well.

Lucia reminded me of a character from a Philippines teleserye that I watched a long time ago - that whole firing people on the spot was so funny. There were scenes that were epic dramatic and I lived for them. The whole public declaration and buying Versper(?) and that first break-up reconciliation that Lucia did, sweet stuff.

Ps: Andie better be joking about Leila being straight. This is a series, stuff can happen.

Pss: The subplot on Lucias family would have been nice, especially the aftermath. Like did she have siblings or something? The resolution of wanting to know what her parents thought in those 16 years ... closure, if I may say.

not good. not the worst. just not good

The book seems written by a horny teenager, and seems there is no editor in this.
Typos, contradictory facts, mixed points of view, overly dramatic, no realistic.

Is not realistic when one of the main characters fires everyone just beacuse. Is there not working laws in there? HR???

I understand the author is trying to show an ice queen but there is way more realistic ways to do that, building characters with more layers.
Who is Leila. A friend? Sister? Cousin? Oh in page 100 something we get the explanation. University friend. How they know each other, why leila has a bakery, what was her major.
How does Leila knows she got the gig with lucia, character never told her. Yet she knew out of nowhere.

“My arm went gone numb” again. No editor and it shows

Also, you cant buy a club in the blink of an eye, theres legal shit, it makes all the thing not credible at all.

Page 274
I text Marcus
And is Leila who is sending the text

So, lucias parents kicked her out for being gay, ok, then they die, ok… but nothing else? No background story? Why they kicked her out, they were Hollywood royals, no one asked them what happend with their daughter? Idk it feels hollow. I think it would have made a beautiful secondary arch.

Then, lucia gave sloane a necklace who belonged to her mother, after knowing sloane for what. A month?!

Lucia ran after they almost had sex, and it was a terrible thing for Sloane. Like is that thing thaaaat terrible it made sloane not trust her LIKE EVER AGAIN. Come on… is not that terrible having a meltdown and scape a little. Too overly exaggerated

Fernando or Ferdinand?
Grey or green eyes?

Anyway, Not the worst book ive read. Nothing beats cleat cute

DNF (little bit over 50%)

The synopsis of the book was interesting, the idea of the characters was good, but the writing was not. The book is also not really realistic.
The older mc is a red flag, she's firing and threatening her employees (where is hr???), she is obsessing over a girl she just met (you cannot buy a club that fast) the promise was there for her but the writing just couldn't handle it.
The younger mc was interesting, bubbly, she was better written.
The book could've used (better) editing. There were mistakes that an editor should've flagged.

2.5 ⭐️ this was so Wattpad, and I knew that going into it yet I still read it in its entirety. It had every corny cliché romcom line on the face of the planet and the story couldn’t have been more unoriginal. The first fifty percent were kind of good, but the quality started to decline gradually from there. I think the author has some potential though, this is her debut after all and it is decent.

I can’t rate this book, the AI-style rewriting is way too present. That’s all I can see.

This book surprised me. At first, I thought it was going to be boring, repetitive, and totally predictable, because most sapphic non-fiction, non-fantasy books I’ve read were like that.

Spoiler: it wasn’t boring or predictable at all. I truly didn’t expect the ending.

It was a bit repetitive in some places, but I think that’s only because the book is written from both main characters’ perspectives, and they were often thinking about the same things. Still, this could be a small detail to take into consideration for future books, because one of the greatest qualities a book can have is the ability to fully immerse the reader—to make you forget you’re sitting on your couch, reading. Repetition can sometimes interfere with that immersion.

Ultimately, I’m really satisfied with both the story and the ending. I enjoyed spending my holidays reading it. You did a great job, Andy Scott! Congratulations! I’m excited for the next one!

I wasn’t into this story. I felt Lucia was unlikable and controlling. There were words that were used so much I laughed each time I read them (Dangerous and efficient or any variation of the word efficient). There were a few typos that took me out of the story but honestly, it just bored me.

i bought this book because the authors tik tok kept coming up and i thought why not.

well now i know all the reasons why.

there are a series of formatting errors where the author switches tenses and uses the wrong name for characters. the story has a fantastic premise but it is trying so hard to be the “next big thing” where social media explodes in a frenzy but it just isn’t that. the scene advertised on tik tok isn’t even that great (the nightclub) and then beyond that there’s not much else.

this is a wattpad book dressed up all fancy and definitely will appeal to a certain audience and whilst sometimes i do fall into that bracket, this time the author missed the mark.

This was plagued with editorial errors, unrealistic plot lines, and inconsistent character arcs. Because I don’t have it in me to not finish a book I start, I really had to choke this one down. The author clearly made last-minute changes (Ctrl + Find + Replace?) with character names and certain plot points, but forgot to go back and update the surrounding context, leaving loads of details that no longer made sense or felt out of place. There were handfuls of typos and clearly no editor involved (or a very poor one). All of this was so distracting from the storyline, which honestly didn’t make much of a difference because that wasn’t great either. There was so much potential, but it really had no wind under its wings. The characters were well defined to start, with clear traits that quickly became watered down and passive. Pick literally any other book before reading this one — at least until the author addresses the typos, contextual inconsistencies, and other low-hanging fruit in a revised edition.

PS: Do we really think a journalist who just spent the last two months of her life researching and feverishly taking notes is just going to up and leave a notebook she needs to find because she set it down at a party, all because her 30-something love interest impulsively suggested going to the bars and promised to buy her another one? The billionaire math is definitely mathing there.

unraveled by andie scott is, honestly, cliché. the plot beats feel familiar, and some of the lines can come off a little predictable but weirdly, that didn’t take away from my experience at all.

i rate books based on how they make me feel, and this one? it gave me butterflies.

it’s written in such an easy, digestible way that i flew through it. at times, it almost feels like i’m reading really well-written fanfiction; which can be both a pro and a con. you don’t get the most complex or groundbreaking narrative, but you do get something comforting, soft, and incredibly easy to sink into.

and the pining? that’s where it shines. i genuinely couldn’t stop smiling whenever the tension built between them. it’s that kind of slow, aching, “almost” feeling that keeps you hooked, even when you already know where the story is headed.

overall, unraveled is one of those books i’d gladly read again. not because it’s perfect, but because of how it made me feel. thanks for this amazing wlw story 🤍

I have a bit of a problem with this book. In the beginning I almost stopped reading it twice; Lucia’s character was so annoying and her (fragile) ego was through the roof, but then Sloane entered and everything’s changed. Sloane was so funny I was giggling every few pages, she felt so alive, like I was watching a movie, and whenever that happens, I give huge credits to authors because I don’t think it’s easy to write a book in such a smooth way. But then the ending annoyed me again. This whole Lucia-needs-to-change thing: I understand why Sloane was hurt by her, but to me it felt very excessive. And Lucia went from being so annoying and literally super rude to anyone, to a very caring almost-angel, but as a result she’s lost what was hers in my view. Also, let’s admit it - even though she was tiresome when she was clearly thinking of herself as a God, her confidence was very, very, very (did I say very?) hot. All in all I just think both Lucia’s character and the ending could be just a bit less dramatic.

absolutely loved it !!!!!!!

I kept seeing this book on my fyp and just from some of little glimpses of the story I knew I wanted to read it…. They did not do this story justice! Every time I had to put the book down I was rushing to get back to it. Lucia and Sloane had so much chemistry even from the beginning I was just waiting for the tension to snap into place…. If you haven’t read this book just go ahead and start reading it right now. I truly hope there are more books to go along with this one because I can’t wait to read them😩.

Was it full of cliches? Yes. Were there lots of repetitive lines? Yes. Were there several typos? Yes. Am I biased because it involves a hot older CEO and a naughty age gap? YES.

Was it the best written piece of work I’ve read? No. However, no matter how many times I rolled my eyes or had to place the book down to take a deep breath, I did enjoy it nonetheless.

Efficient this, practical that. The moment Lucia DeLuca starts speaking Italian, I’m exactly where I want to be.

I loved this book so much. I adored practically everything, but especially the tension. The tension and yearning was CRAZY! Absolutely amazing, beautiful, I-want-to-marry-the-author amazing. This is such a worthy representation of more complex wlw relationships. I loved the balance between spice and fluff. And I also really liked the character building and development.🩷

I need a Lucia (a few years older). READ THE BOOK OR YOU’RE MISSING OUT!🫵

I came into this straight from fantasy—dragons, destiny, all of it—and didn’t expect a contemporary romance to hook me this hard. But it did.

The tension is slow, quiet, and incredibly well-built, making the emotional payoff feel fully earned. Yes, it’s a little cheesy and leans into clichés—but in the best way. I finished it smiling like an idiot.

Unexpected, addictive, and so worth it.

My first sapphic novel

And it did not disappoint. The ice queen melting for the chaos gremlin was thrilling to watch. The yearning, the tension 10/10. Could've used more chilly pepper scenes though.

Bella!

Good book. But, it is quite repetitive. Hopefully, the author will cut the next book in half by not repeating the same feelings and emotions between the leads. Not psychoanalyzing everything to death. Leah

might be a 2.5. didn't hate it and it's rating is in part my fault because this trope is often a bore to me.

it was cute when it worked but overall corny and predictable and too many typos for me to like it completely.
