Lucia Deluca built her empire from the ground up. In New York’s glittering skyline, she is the woman people admire, envy, and never dare to cross.
Power is her armor, and control is the only thing she trusts.
Then Sloane Vaughn walks into her life. Freshly graduated, ambitious, and far too curious for her own good, Sloane is determined to make her mark as a reporter. Shadowing one of the city’s most powerful women should be the opportunity of a lifetime, but Lucia Deluca is nothing like she expected.
What begins as professional tension soon turns into something charged and undeniable. Lucia is everything Sloane swore she would never fall older, intimidating, and emotionally untouchable. Yet the closer they get, the harder it becomes to keep their worlds from colliding.
Unraveled is a story about power and surrender, about two women learning that love can be both a risk and a revelation.
It is the first installment in the Untamed Hearts series, a collection of sapphic interconnected standalones that explore love, ambition, and identity through bold, emotionally charged stories.
This book surprised me. At first, I thought it was going to be boring, repetitive, and totally predictable, because most sapphic non-fiction, non-fantasy books I’ve read were like that.
Spoiler: it wasn’t boring or predictable at all. I truly didn’t expect the ending.
It was a bit repetitive in some places, but I think that’s only because the book is written from both main characters’ perspectives, and they were often thinking about the same things. Still, this could be a small detail to take into consideration for future books, because one of the greatest qualities a book can have is the ability to fully immerse the reader—to make you forget you’re sitting on your couch, reading. Repetition can sometimes interfere with that immersion.
Ultimately, I’m really satisfied with both the story and the ending. I enjoyed spending my holidays reading it. You did a great job, Andy Scott! Congratulations! I’m excited for the next one!
I wasn’t into this story. I felt Lucia was unlikable and controlling. There were words that were used so much I laughed each time I read them (Dangerous and efficient or any variation of the word efficient). There were a few typos that took me out of the story but honestly, it just bored me.
Powerful ice queen boss lesbian falls for younger journalist shadowing her but the instant love was kinda cringe even if lesbians do move at the speed of light
