The Grizzly Situation

Rate this book
Ulysses McNamara—Uly to his family—has just lost another job. His seventh, actually. He gives everything 100%, but his brain is going a million miles a minute and his body can’t keep up with it. He believed this last position as a server in his uncle’s café was his final chance.

Fate, however, has plans for Uly. His newest customer has a secret, and Uly is about to become privy to it.

Brent Lockhart would rather be back home in Bear Mountain, playing with his twin five-year-old sons before they head for school. Instead, he's the CEO of Ursine Inc, in Milwaukee to decide on the future of 300 employees who could lose their jobs. At least he can help the server in the café when he gets into trouble. Brent makes the man sit and tell him what’s wrong. After a brief conversation, Uly says something that shows Brent a way to save all those jobs. Then he runs.

Brent tracks the guy down, insisting that Uly should work for him. Sure, Uly helped him out, but that isn't the reason. Once upon a time someone gave Brent a chance, and he wants to return the favor.

At least that’s what he’s telling himself, but with each hour Uly spends with Brent and his two sons, the three bears find something they never expected. Something they'd had once, before it was taken from them when they'd lost someone precious.

A home.

The Grizzly Situation by Parker Williams Ulysses has always been a klutz but the last straw was when he quit his uncle's diner because he knew he was going to get fired. Right before the disaster he meets Brent Lockhart and boy did it change his life for the better. Brent, trying to avoid firing 300 people at one of his companies just couldn’t figure out where the money was going. Meeting Uly really helped figure out where it went and he saved those jobs. Uly was skeptical that he could actually hold a job because of his clumsiness and inability to focus. But Brent has a better idea: he offers Uly any job he would love to have and makes it his mission to help give Uly the confidence he needs and yeah Brent is lonely. As Brent and Uly start a friendship by talking every night Uly didn’t expect that he was falling in love with Brent. When he finally decided to visit Brent in order to meet his twin boys and also talk to HR about coming to work for Brent. Brent is excited to see old friends and also to see Uly once again but he has a secret that was revealed in the most interesting way and hoped he hadn't lost Uly forever. I loved this story . Parker has an amazing way of presenting a story and adding surprises in the most unique ways. I especially found the secret was revealed rather special. It was an adorable , sweet and swoon worthy read.

hmmm not sure

So I liked it, but there were some places that were weird for me. The momma parts… not sure how I felt about this but it kept throwing me off. Other than that if you love an OTT book with the most perfect book boyfriend who will fix everything this is that book.

A different take on shifters...

…and such a sweet story of two men who struggled in life, for totally different reasons, and how they found each other. The idea of a second mate share the scent of the first, and how the boys reacted, was a surprise and so sweet. There was also some closure with Brent’s awful father. A lovely story and highly recommended.

I forgot to add my review! (Sorry Parker❤️)
Firstly, if you haven't this ..go get it. Right now. I absolutely love Parker's books. This was so sweet. Uly is the perfect little flawed guy you can't help but love. He gives his heart & soul to everything he does, even if it goes wrong. He's such a special guy. And Brent, the ...for lack of a better word at the moment..'alpha' everyone dreams they could have. He's attentive, caring, fights for what he believes, and loves with all of himself. And those baby boys, 🥲🥲 Add a mix of eclectic characters, and it's the perfect feel good. It does have it's tearful moments, but it's a sweet found family story. Especially with the holidays & cold weather season approaching, it's the perfect book to snuggle up to with a big fuzzy blanket and a good cup of hot cocoa.

I enjoyed this story. Uly has had it rough. He has been told that he's a klutz, and because of that, he has insecurity with just about anything. But when Brent arrives at the coffee shop where Uly is working, He doesn't see a klutz but a person who may be in the wrong job. We find out later on that Uly has ADHD. I think that this story points out that some people don't know that they have ADHD till later on in life because of the lack of good health insurance.

Second book by this author where I really like the characters but the storyline makes no sense to me. It's very well written with characters that are easy to care for but the plot points, the events happening in the story repeatedly have me saying "Why? Who would do that? That makes no sense!".
It's still a sweet story but not for me.
