MARCO. The boy I followed around like a lost kitten.
The playboy with the piercing green eyes who smashed my heart to smithereens right before I left for college.
The sexy-as-sin, self-made billionaire now set on winning my heart back at all costs— including going toe-to-toe with mypowerful father and any other man who dares stand in his way.
Time and distance kept us apart, but now we're both in New York, and he's made no secret that he wants me. Every bit of me. In every single way.
My head knows I should be focusing on my law career at my family's prestigious firm. My body craves his touch like oxygen. But my heart? It's guarded. Bound by the insecurities of our past. I offered it to him once already, and he rejected it. If I give it to him now, can I trust him to keep it safe?
SOPHIA. Her name is like a prayer on my lips. I’ve waited six long years to right the wrongs of my biggest regret.
Young and in an impossible position, torn between my feelings for her, a promise to my best friend, and misplaced loyalty to a man I considered a father-figure — I lied to her.
Now she's back. Consuming my every thought and every move. She's in my head, under my skin, and finally giving into our sizzling chemistry in my bed.
Heartbreak prevents her from letting me all the way in, but I'll stop at nothing to convince her she can trust me. That I can be the man who will give her the world.
But when secrets unravel and threaten our love and the life we want together, the stakes become higher. Except thistime, I’ll burn it all down and die trying to prove I'm hers and she's mine.

Who doesn’t love a good childhood friends to lovers story?
‘Always Mine’ ticks off all the things you want with this trope. Tension? Tension? And more tension? You got it.
I really enjoyed reading about their feelings for each other. While Marco had been head over heels in love with her since the beginning of the book, Sophia had to tackle an inner conflict with her heart and brain. Marco and her had to part ways at a certain point which made her question how well he could be trusted with her heart. But after stepping into her life again he’s hell-bent in getting her back. And reading about him doing just THAT is just really entertaining.
Yet, there are two things I’d like to point out: the story felt a bit dragged. You could’ve gotten the same result with less chapters. Second, Marco tried pursuing Sophia multiple times while she was in a relationship. Of course, they will be end game. However, I am still not a fan of cheating and this just felt a little out of place.
Other than that I enjoyed this book a lot. :)
Thank you for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.
I love a good childhood friends to lovers, and this one was no exception. It had the sweet nostalgia from them knowing each other since they were kids, but that tension from the time they spent longing for each other during their six years apart and the trauma that keeps them apart. I loved the first half of this book, it was so emotional but sweet and interesting. Our man was dedicated to getting her back. Then the pace slowed a little half way through and I was a little bored but it picked up quite a bit after and I loved the climax and the ending. The some great plot twists and I love the storyline in general it just felt a little dragged. However both characters had great development throughout the book, and there was a great found family element to it. It was very emotional, they had so many ups and downs, I was close to tears many times in this books and I was so glad they got their happy ending. I give this a 4/5
Love, longing, lust, secrets and suspense. Always Mine takes you through it all.
Marco and Sofia are intensely beautiful. Their love story isn’t just romantic; it’s powerful and magnetic. Their character development was deep and authentic and Marcos unwavering and unapologetic love for Sofia, their respect for one another with their friendship group, loyal and full of heart made for a phenomenal read! Every part of this book will leave you craving more.
Marco and Sophia. Sophia was a strong, independent woman. I loved how the grew during the time her and Marco were apart. There was some great tropes in here, brothers best friend, second chance, found family. Marco was utterly devoted to Sophia and reminded me of a cinnamon roll dom. Hopefully we get a book on Raf and Chiara next??🙏
Beta Reader 📚 HIGHLY Addictive, angst-y build up, dual perspective, fast cars, fashion and fun NYC vibes and the SPICE...oh the spice 🌶️🥵 what more could you wish for!?
Be prepared to swoon over Marco, envious of Sophia's fashion and smarts and crave to hear more from the interesting characters in Marco and Sophia's dynamic friendship group/family.
Oh and you won't be able to look at a certain fruit the same way again after reading Always Mine - it's not a bad thing at all - I promise 😜
Growing up Italian-American—especially in New York—really is like a little subculture in and of itself, and that is one of the things that made this such a fun read for me. Sophia, Marco, and their friend group really embody the quintessential 20-somethings who grew up with high expectations and the temptations of city life. Couple that with some light mafia ties, and I was all in.
Sophia’s dad wants one thing for her, but her heart wants another, and Marco refuses to play by papa Princi’s rules anymore. He’s getting his girl and will make her father see that he’s the best man for her. Throughout the story, we see family secrets unravel, but it’s clear that, for Marco, Sophia was always his.
Also a moment for the spice. There are three scenes that will live-rent free in your brain: DJ booth, cherries, and mirror. So, so hot.
Great debut and can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
Arc review Thank you to the author for this great opportunity! I have the honour to read this book before its release and I’m happy to say that I loved this book so much! This book has an amazing vibes and honestly I loved so much the chemistry between Marco and Sophia! I have to say if you are interested in this book absolutely you have to read it.

Always Mine is the second chance, billionaire, Italian-American mafia romance story of Sophia, the only girl in the Princi lawyer dynasty, and Marco, business magnate and bodyguard specialist, who grew up together. Marco made a misguided deal with Sophia's father to try and make everyone win, whilst he waited the six years until Sophia would be back in New York and his to win. But he's spinning a million secret plates, and she's not quite sure he won't break her heart - plus her father wants her to marry sleazeball Arty. Can Sophia and Marco find their way to happiness without everything imploding?
This is an incredible novel, which weaves spice, suspense and a lot of love so well that it feels cinematic - it feels like you're watching a thriller film. Marco, the MMC, has done everything he can to help everyone - Sophia, her brothers, her father - at the expense of his own feelings. He's loved Sophia his entire life, so sacrifices six years believing that once she returns from Harvard, he can sweep her off her feet. He is pure sin, and for someone who spent six years celibate, he knows exactly what to do to a woman! Check out the cherry scene - you'll thank me later! His secrets, however well intended, build right up, and the point at which his nemesis pushes the right button, he stands to lose the love of his life. The truth, as it inevitably does, comes out, and the third act breakup feels so brutal after everything they so obviously feel for each other - but he is the hero of the story, and the pure drama that ensues pulses off the page. I think that Monroe very successfully navigates the fallout of that, with Marco suffering from PTSD as opposed to it being just a mafia fight and life goes on.
Sophia is a fun FMC who loves with her whole heart, is determined in her career path, and will not be minimised by anyone, or ridden over, no matter what their intentions. She's fiercely independent, but also fiercely in love with Marco Marrone since forever. She's no damsel in distress, but is totally unaware of just how much Marco has on the line when she breaks up with him. Her revenge plan against Arty is masterfully executed and got a cheer from me, although the drama that followed immediately after tempered that. Her friendship with Chiara, Evie and Stella is pure girl power, and I firmly believe that every woman deserves a core network like that, to hype, to support and to console.
I was a little bit concerned when I saw the family tree of characters at the start, I thought it would be overwhelming to keep track, but it was easy enough to follow the story and keep a clear idea of who was who. There are so many threads woven through this book that set up the other books planned for this series, like Chiara and Raf, who come next. I'm particularly intrigued by Sebastian and Evie. The GG blog was fantastic, and was seemingly just a spiteful gossip aspect to the story to drag down Sophia, but actually was far more crucial to the story than you expected. The build up to the taking down of villain Arty was so well executed and suspenseful, and I hope that in future books we find out his fate.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this book. It was gripping, with a really visual feel - like watching an intense thriller film. The characters all leave their mark on you - even with such a sizeable supporting cast. You root for Marco and Sophia throughout, the villain is despicable, the spice is hot as hell, and the suspense and revealed secrets are incredibly worked. Rose Monroe, take a bow! I can't wait for the next instalment!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this book!
It’s always been you • Found family • Mafia • Brother’s best friend • Family secrets
“Not all our stories can be rewritten, but it doesn’t mean we can’t write new ones.”
First, congrats to Rose not just for taking a chance but creating a captivating, multifaceted universe in her debut novel. Always Mine focuses on Sophia and Marco but features strong world building and character development while setting up several books and series spinoffs. When I beta read this I could see it all and immediately messaged Rose to tell her. It’s difficult enough writing one book but I feel like Rose started several. I’m so excited to see everything develop and come to life.
Sophia and Marco work for their happy ending and it takes years to get there. Family dynamics, sacrifice, pressure and secrets, goals and achievements all play a role. Growing up in powerful families comes with expectations and challenges. We get to see them navigate it all while surrounded by amazing friends and family. That’s one of my favorite parts of this book, the strong connections, the banter, and the loyalty. You can expect secrets to be revealed, hilarious text threads, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the spice. I’ll just say that a few scenes live rent free-if you know what I mean.
“She’s mine. She’s always been mine.”
“I’m not fucking going anywhere. You’re not just enough. You’re everything.
“I don’t just want you to choose me because I am the better man; I want you to choose me—us—because you know without a shadow of a fucking doubt that I am the best man. Only the best—that’s what you fucking deserve.”
Wow this book was everything and so much more! This is book one in what I can only say is going to be an obsession series. It follows Marco and Sophia who have grown up together due to their families being friends for years, Sophia has had the biggest crush on Marco since she was tiny, Marco has always felt the pull to protect her and care for her. When Sophia makes a play for Marco her dad interjects and makes Marco a deal he can't refuse but in order to accept he has to push Sophia away to her dads dream of attending Harvard law school many miles away, ruining any chance of a relationship together and breaking both their hearts in the process. Six years later, newly graduated Sophia returns to join her father's family law firm, All those feelings come rushing back and Marco makes a decision that could blow everything up and change theirs lives as they know it. This was an unreal read, you could literally feel the heat on every page! You can feel the push and pull between Marco and Sophia like static in the air; it’s electric, but it’s also real. The way the author has portrayed every character has you feeling them not just reading about them. I loved the depth of the character relationships shown on page with Sophias brothers and her girls. If you like your romances emotional, dramatic, and unapologetically intense — where the city hums, hearts collide, and redemption burns slow — Always Mine will claim you, just like its title promises. I can't wait to read more from this author!

-Brother’s best friend -Mafia Romance -It’s always been you -spice -found family
My girl Rose wrote her first book and it is this absolute masterpiece for a debut novel. I was blown away with the story that she has created in the world that she’s also created for these characters. 💕💕
The story follows Sophia and Marco and they’ve known each other for a long time as Marco is Sophia’s brother’s best friend. They always had feelings for each other but Marco made the decision to pull away from her when they were a bit younger due to influences from her father.
The story picks up basically six years later where Marco is like you’re mine and you’ll always be mine and from that point that’s when the story naturally builds as well
I really loved a lot of the side characters which eventually I will hope get a book. A really good found family in this book as well and you learnt so much about the side characters that you feel like you already know them so when they do get their own book you’re gonna be able to dive straight into that story as well.
And the spice in this book I needed a permanent fan next to my bed when I was reading because this book was spicy as hell 🥵🥵🥵🥵 rose you delivered with the spice 10 out of 10
Thank you to rosemonroeauthor and the lovenotes.pr for an arc copy of this book. This book is out on 24 October and I want to shout from the rooftops to read this book 💕💕
Marco & Sophia have known each other for a very long time…
She has had feelings for him for a while and they flirt a lot over the summer so she thinks he is into her until he does something that changes her mind….
After that moment Marco has a conversation with her dad that changes everything…..
He has loved Sophia since forever and now that she is back he plans to prove it to her…
It doesn’t come easy and it definitely brings some drama around but Marco will do anything for Sophia..
I love how hard he loves her and how he finally expresses all of his feelings…
Secrets and never good and there are some that Sophia knows nothing about until Marco finally has to come clean about everything….
He’s afraid that he has completely pushed her away now..
I loved both of her brothers! I loved the group texts and the growth you see happen for Sophia over time.
They are also insanely hot together😮💨
The cherry scene is 🔥….
I love their continuous game of truth or dare!

“I don’t want to waste any more time doing what we think is right by someone else’s rulebook. I want you by my side. I want to face whatever the future holds together. I know it sounds cheesy to say, but you complete me.”
You know that saying, “If you love somebody, let them go, for if they return, they were always yours. If they don't, they never were,”?
Well for Marco, he loved Sophia so much he let her go when she was 18. That man pined and waited for 6 years for her return from school. He let her live her life, what he thought was the right thing at the time. Sophia was devastated when Marco let her go. She chalked it up to a school girl crush and took her life in her hands as she ventured away to school.
As 6 years of time pass, Marco is determined to make Sophia his again. But Sophia doesn’t like being spoken for. She’s used to living in a man’s world and she knows how to stand up for herself and what she wants..and what she wants is Marco.
These two were like fire and gasoline. They were hot and heavy but ultimately had a beautiful amount of trust and respect for the other. I fell in love with how Marco loved Sophia. He is a man down bad and he didn’t care who saw.
This book gives you lust, love, and suspense with secrets. It was a great read!
Sophia Princi is the little sister of Marco's best friends. After being away for 6 years at law school, she's back and ready to make her way in the world. But not before the boy she loves walks back into her life.
Marco Morrone is the boy she's always been in love with. The boy she didn't know wanted her just as much. The boy who turned into a man and waited for 6 years to profess his unwavering love for her.
The chemistry between these two is palpable. I love the banter between them, the way she fights him and how he gets off on it. Marco is written so beautifully and you quickly understand why Sophia is in love with him. Their relationship moves quickly in the eyes of others but it's been a long time coming.
Marco's relationship with the Princi brothers is the absolute best. One of my favorite things about this book is the group chats that were written in for the boys and the girls. Rose sets up future books in the absolute best way and doesn't wait until the end to do so.
I honestly can't believe this is her debut novel! It's so beautiful 😍
Ahh this book was so so good! I loved Marco and Sophia’s relationship. All the side characters and the bond of brothers was perfect. The tension between Marco and Sophia was spot on and the ending had such an amazing shock factor!
Marco has been in love with Sophia since they were kids; countless times sacrificing his safety to ensure she had the best life. This man is so devoted to his woman that I can’t help but fall in love with him. He’s possessive, filthy, and wears his heart on his sleeve for Sophia. I think these two had some of the most emotional and raw moments together that I’ve ever read. His unwavering commitment to keep her safe and make sure she knows she’s worshipped was *chefs kiss*.
Sophia is such a strong and independent woman - conquering law school and handling a brute of a man like it’s easy. Her fierce love for Marco was my favorite as she supported him no matter what without hesitation. Even though she’s afraid of the strong emotions that she feels for Marco, she eventually surrenders. Her and Marco complimented each other so well.
This is the debut book for this author and what a debut it was!
This is the story of Marco and Sophia. Marco is Sophia's brothers best friend and 4 years older than her. He has always been drawn to Sophia but kept his distance until that one summer when the lightbulb turns on for him. They share a kiss when Sophia is 18 and Marco is ready to tell her how he feels but some meddling family members and a few threats causes him to push her away broken hearted! Sophia goes off to college and (thankfully) lives her life returning 6 years later! At this point Marco is well underway with his plans to win back his girl, a plan he has had in place since the day he pushed her away. Sophia is understandably reluctant to trust Marco but he eventually wins her round.
There are a lot of truths that come out throughout this book and they were so well woven into the story. I loved the banter with the brothers and the set up for the stories to come. I will definitely be diving back into this world!
Marco was over the top all in with his girl and it was great to read!
I was kindly given an ARC of Always Mine and this was good! I was so interested in this storyline and enjoyed the plot. the tension between Sophia and Marco was amazing, there was so much love between them and you could tell that they were meant to be. I loved their connection and chemistry, the nickname he gave her when they were little was so cute. Marco was amazing, he was so caring and protective and the way he would do anything for Sophia was great, it was shown so well in the book. the group chats were so funny and I really liked Sophia’s siblings (especially Raf, their relationship was really sweet) this was a good book, it was on the longer side and could’ve been shorter but enjoyed reading it. excited for the next book in the series and the other characters books! (thank you to Rose Monroe and Love Notes PR for the ARC, all opinions are my own) Always Mine releases October 24! 4⭐
Marco and Sophia… my god. The chemistry, the tension, the heartbreak—they own me. Marco is the perfect mix of ruthless and tender, this self-made billionaire who would literally set the world on fire to prove she’s his. And Sophia? She’s strong, guarded, brilliant, and every bit the woman he doesn’t deserve but fights like hell for. Their push and pull had me screaming at my Kindle, clutching my heart one second and fanning myself the next.
This book gave me everything: groveling (the good kind), emotional scars, steamy reconnection scenes that made me blush, and a love story that actually feels earned. The way Rose Monroe writes longing—it’s like you can taste it. Six years apart and the moment they’re in the same room again? Sparks. Flames. Absolute chaos in the best way.
If you love second chances, obsessive devotion, and a man who would go toe-to-toe with the world just to have the woman he loves—READ THIS. I’m unwell, I’m obsessed, and I’m not moving on anytime soon.
Ok I didn’t knew that I’ll be addicted to Rose Monroe’s book 🤩. This is my first time reading and I’m sure it won’t be last.
What a book this was man. From first chapter it was written so well and good like even if I wanted I wouldn’t be able to complain about it. Marco he have my heart now. I mean when I started reading I just wanted it to keep going and never end. The way he let Sophia go and pined for her for 6 whole years made me cry. I understand why he did this. And I love him for this. And Sophia gosh she’s so strong that she did everything she could to be the one she’s. And can we speak about the spice please like it was heating 🥵 🔥. I was a sweating mess and was like why so hot 🥵. I just loved this book and had to finish it. I’m utterly obsessed with Marco. This book is just perfect. I would recommend this book to everyone.
Firstly , "brothers best friend" trope is definitely made for me and secondly I have been enjoying Mafia billionaire romances a lot lately .
So we have Sofia (The FMC) who is also a lawyer and Marco (the MMC )who is the billionaire and also sebastian's (Sophia's brother's) best friend .
Initially Sofia and Marco get separated because of sofia's father. But after 6 long years of waiting Sofia comes back in the city and this time Marco can't let her go even if he has to go against her father.
I love how he adores her so much and he is so possessive for her.
Also this is the first book of "Kings of New York" series .
Final verdict - If you love billionaire MMC (Who is obsessed with his girl ) just pick up this book you need know the reason. 👀
Wow so this author is new to me and I was given this book as an arc . What a book! What a story and such fantastic characters . I was hooked!! A story of unrequited love… or is it?? About families who are so close but so very distant at the same time.. About brothers, back handed dealing, a little dollop of mafia involvement.A fantastic group of ladies who support each other and are each other cheerleaders.. A lot of love, sexual tension, angry families, wonderfully spicy.. absolutely fantastic group chats!! Class, made me laugh out loud 🤣.. This isn’t a simple spicy love story, there are plenty of twists and turns with so many of these characters .. SMASHED IT-can’t wait for the next book ( Look out Raf, I’m not sure you know what’s coming!! 🤣)
Always Mine by Rose Monroe was an enjoyable read. I really liked the storyline between Sophia and Marco their connection felt genuine, and Marco's sacrifices, along with the patience he showed while waiting for Sophia, made his character especially compelling.
I appreciated the dual POV format, which gave deeper insight into both characters’ emotions and motivations. The story struck a nice balance between serious moments and light-hearted banter, especially among the group of friends, which added charm and relatability.
As a second-chance romance, it delivered the emotional tension and satisfying payoff I was hoping for. I'm also intrigued by the interconnected characters and would love to see where their stories go next.
This is a second chance romance about Marco and Sophia... two people with a lot of history and even more emotional baggage. I liked the premise and thought the setup had potential, especially with Marco trying to make amends for the past. There were a few moments that captured that old tension really well, and I appreciated seeing both POVs and how their perspectives had changed over time.
That said, I never fully connected with them as a couple. Some of the emotional beats didn’t hit as hard as I hoped, and a few parts dragged for me. I did like how the author left room for other characters and future storylines, though.. it felt like there’s more coming for this friend group.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad read, just one that didn’t completely click for me personally.
I’d love to thank the author for giving me the opportunity for this arc, unfortunately life got in the way, but I’m here to leave my review.♥️♥️
Praise to this book because everything about was chefs kiss amazing.💋‼️ This is the first book in the Kings Of New York series. When I tell you I was melting every single goddamn time, the sizzling hot tension, the chemistry, the hot romance was off the charts, a glimpse of the fiery love that they tried to keep hidden.💋💋 The way these characters collided together, they fitted together so beautifully, the atmosphere, the plot matched perfectly with the characters.🖤
Oh my heart, I loved it so much, I devoured it so quickly.💋🖤 Thank you so much Rose for this amazing novel, I can’t wait for what you have next.💋🖤
I was completely hooked on this one from the very first page. Marco and Sophia were incredible. He was so devoted, patient, and unapologetically in love, while Sophia was strong, smart, and so relatable even with her vulnerabilities. Their chemistry was electric, the tension made every scene thrilling, and the way they slowly built trust and respect was beautiful. The pacing was perfect, I finished it in one sitting. This was my first Rose Monroe book, but it won’t be my last. Thank you so much to the author and Love Notes PR for giving me the opportunity to read the book in advance, I received this for free and I'm leaving an honest review.
Sophia and Marco. Just wow! She's grown into a strong independent woman. No more following around like a lost a kitten. And Marco. To go out of his way to right his wrongs from six years ago. I love that he wanted to make things right with her after being away all those years. and that he wanted her with such passion. Sophia and Marco make a remarkable couple in this book. It's so passionate and strong. It really pulls you in hoping that things are mended and they come out too be the couple they always should've been. I loved how this was written, the characters, the story, it was just amazing. steamy and amazing ;)
Oh my, I absolutely loved Sophia and Marcos' story. The tension, the yearning, and the spice were well written. The characters had great development and growth throughout the story. And the love Marco has for Sophia is beautiful.
You have romance, drama, and secrets that you don't see coming. This book held me captivated from start to finish. The side characters are great and and the banter throughout the book is amazing.
This is book one in the Kings Of New York series, and I can't wait to read book two. Especially as we get to read about Sophia's brother Raf and Chiara (she's such a fire cracker)
This is filled with angst, YEARNING slow burns and some amazing spice.
Marco and Sophia have always been connected even when they were young. Sophia is the only girl in the family of boys and wants to make sure everyone is happy but doesn’t always think of herself. Her father wants her to go to Harvard and follow in the families footsteps and uses her crush to do it. Marco will always be there though! There was twists and turns I did not expect, and I hope the storyline of a few characters come up soon!
In a captivating story of how your soulmate will always find a way back, this is such a good book!
I received an ARC of Always Mine This is a second chance romance that kept me invested in what was going to happen next. Marco is the definition of a man yearning and he will do ANYTHING to have Sophia as his. Thier story is a classic of everything happens for a reason and brought them here. I did not expect the twist at the end and I love how through this book the author set up the stories for the other following couples and dangled just enough of a storyline to not take away from Marco anD SoPhia’s story but hook me and get me very invested in whats coming next
Ok, firstly let me start by saying this had me in a chokehold from the beginning!!!.❤️🫠. I was honestly hooked. I absolutely adored Sophia and Marcos relationship! I am obsessed with the whole brother bond and friendship group. The dynamics and banter between them all was just perfection. This had everything I look for in a book. Chemistry, tension, heart...I felt it all. 5🌟 !
Thanks so much @rosemonroeauthor and @lovenotes.pr for this ARC.
I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Go grab yourself a copy of this right now!! You wont be disappointed. 🔥💕👌
