When the infamous Pirate Lord, Kai Eldoris, crosses paths with Mira—a fierce young captain hiding a dangerous secret—an ancient tension between land and sea ignites.
Haunted waters, cursed maps, and ghostly ships pull them together, even as rivalry deepens into something neither can resist. But what begins as a clash of wills soon unravels a deadly secret that binds them in ways more treacherous than the ocean itself.
Mira must confront the truth of her heritage, while Kai is forced to face a legacy of magic darker than he ever imagined. Together, they must navigate betrayal, desire, and the pull of fate—or risk losing not only their worlds, but each other.
Allie Belle writes stories for readers who crave dark seas, impossible love, and morally grey pirates with dangerous smiles. Her debut novel, Sirens Cove, is the first in The Sirenborne Chronicles, a fantasy romance series filled with fierce heroines, haunted seas, and love stories that run as deep as the ocean.
Originally from California, Allie has lived most of her life by the coast, where the salt air and ocean mist continue to inspire her writing.
As an author with ADHD and dyslexia, Allie writes for minds that move quickly, feel deeply, and see the world a little differently. She believes these are not disabilities, but creative superpowers—and her stories are crafted to be immersive, emotionally rich, and impossible to put down.
When she’s not lost in her fictional worlds, she’s usually re-reading her favorite fantasy romances, exploring new coffee shops, or dreaming of stormy horizons (and morally grey pirates).
This was my first pirate fantasy read since I got back into reading and I really enjoyed it!! It’s a debut novel and what a great start, a high fantasy pirate adventure integrated with romantasy and Slowburn & yearning with touch her and 💀 vibes & some spicy light scenes, myth, magic & the sea.
FMC Mira is a strong, fierce character with a hidden past whereas MMC Kai is a pirate lord their paths collide together in a world shaped by ancient magic, curses, haunted waters, & revelations that differentiate what they thought they knew about fate and dangerous secrets & they become closer as they adventure together building trust too. The world building is unique & well written in this book with strong descriptions that made it easy to imagine in my head the sea felt alive & atmospheric. It is a fast paced book, engaging & packed with adventure, quests & unexpected twists & that ending 🤯 I need book 2 asap
First time entering the world of pirates and sirens, and I gotta say, I’m hooked. I have a hard time with long series sometimes because they can be slow to start, that is not the case here. There was a lot of action and tension that kept the plot constantly moving forward. The sea monsters were so cool and I think I’m obsessed with pirates now. Also, I’m gonna need the next book stat because baby that’s a cliff hanger!!!!
this was my first pirate fantasy book, and i enjoyed every second of it. it had beautiful imagery and words to describe the setting of the book. i loved mira and kai, their tension and the fruition of the relationship was very beautiful! the world building is unique in its own way in the coastal waters and made its mark. i am looking forward to reading book 2 in the series.
thank you to the author for giving me the opportunity to read the eARC.
DNF at 40% I hate that I'm just not having a good time 😬 the writing is choppy and it keeps taking me out of it. The enemies to lovers didn't translate well, and things escalated way too quickly where it doesn't even make sense🫥I LOVE the idea of what this could have been and hate to DNF it
Ommgggg <3 I didn’t know I needed a pirate 🏴☠️ and sirens book in my life. I went in with 0 expectations or as people say “blindly” since it is a new book and will be published tomorrow. But this was so good!! The way Allie writes really draws you in and keeps you hooked on the story. There was never a dull or boring moment, there was action, romance, mystery, and it was also kind of funny (Idk if that was intentional but I was giggling and kicking my feet in some of these chapters). THE LETTERS?!?!? The letters had me tearing up on the treadmill at the gym 😭 I would definitely recommend this to any girlies who love a sexy pirate and a lead female character who is not annoying.
Im so excited for this entire series and am so grateful to have read this before it’s release but now I’m sad knowing it’ll be a while before book 2 even comes out 😔😭
Hoping book 2 has more smut as there wasn’t anything crazy in this one, more on Naressa and more on the side characters, the sirens, Kai’s powers, and how Kai and Mira are bonded. Maybe I missed this part but I was confused on why they are fated mates. What/where is the connection there 👀 also wish there wasn’t such a quick resolution between enemies to lovers. But that’s ok! Also more development on the story of Bleu and Sirena. The letters explained a little but I’m hoping the rest of the series unfolds more about their relationship and Miras past. As well as the enemy story between Mira’s parents and Kai’s.
This took me a lot longer than expected to finish. I usually “combo” read meaning I listen to the audio book while driving and then read in bed at night with the physical book. But maybe there will be some audio works in the future?? 👀 would love to hear a dual female and male project.
WOW what an incredible debut novel. Sirens Cove had me completely swept away by its immersive world and addictive romance. From the very first chapters, I felt transported onto the open sea, surrounded by pirates, sirens, curses, sea monsters, and dangerous magic. Mira stood out to me as a fierce, determined heroine, and Kai’s morally gray pirate energy made every scene between them crackle with tension. Their intense enemies to lovers chemistry had me turning the pages for hours without even realize time was passing. The plot moved quickly, which I personally loved, packed with action and twists that kept me constantly engaged (especially important to me as a fellow ADHD girlie). Most of all, I was captivated by the author's cinematic imagery throughout the story which was vividly clear and poetically written. I could practically taste the salt air from the ocean and hear the creak of the ship beneath my feet, both of which were described in such perfect detail they practically became characters of their own throughout the story. I'll save the spoilers, but let's just say the last chapter had me mouth agape and literally begging for the next book. I cannot wait to see how this story of love and dark magic continues to unfold throughout the series!
hello, pirate love story!! I loved exploring the unique world of pirates, sirens, magic and sooo much more. The incredible use of adjectives throughout this book really allowed me to immerse myself with Kai and Mira’s world. The story line was filled with twists and turns, dying to know what would happen next. AND AHHHH THAT ENDING!!
I would have enjoyed more of an enemy to lovers to build up, with less of the proclaims of love throughout, felt like it got a bit mushy at times.
Overall, LOVED, great book for a first time author. I’ll definitely be coming back for book #2!!
Sirens Cove is the debut novel by Allie Belle and first in the Sirenborne Chronicles. If you enjoy fast-paced, high seas adventure with a strong romantic plot and all the creatures of the deep like sirens, mermaids and witches vying for power this is for you.
The beautifully descriptive writing paints a vivid picture of the high seas setting and the variety of creatures in its depths. The author has created ocean dwelling creatures both beautiful and terrifying and I enjoyed learning about the different creatures and their lore.
This tale has a character-driven plot and was very concentrated on main characters Mira and Kai, written in dual POV. One of my favorite tropes, enemies to lovers features, but very quickly evolves into a fated bond. Usually I prefer a slower burn to build the tension and chemistry but Kais devotion and 'touch her and die' vibes more than make up for the fast relationship growth. I do wish I'd learnt a little more about some of the side characters, which would have made some key scenes hit just a little harder.
Overall a captivating, action-packed debut romantasy and with an ending like that I predict rough seas ahead for Kai and Mira. I'm really looking forward to everything that comes next from Allie Belle and this series.
Amongst a sea of recent crappy pirate books, this one finally stood out and was really enjoyable.
The story was one that gets done quite often in this genre but I enjoyed it and I don’t hate the romance (something I’ve really been hating). The standout to me is the setting/world building and cast of characters. I love a diverse mix of mythical creatures both know and new to this series and I feel like the author absolutely nailed this.
Will definitely be looking forward to and reading the sequel!
Very descriptive writing. I was immersed into the story by the first sentence. I really liked sailing the seas with Kai and Mira. I can’t wait for the next book.
I finished Sirens Cove about a week ago and it's still stuck in my head, I keeping running through everything that happened over and over again. Maybe I'm trying to piece things together, maybe I'm trying to figure out what will happen next, or maybe I just really don't want to forget a single detail of this amazing book. Yeah I think it's mainly that to be honest. I often forget most details about a book within a couple of weeks of reading them but this is one of those books you simply can't forget a single second of. Sirens Cove is a fast paced, very easy, and very addicting read. It keeps you hooked and wanting more at every turn. The plot twists are twisting and the descriptive writing made me feel as if I was on that ship right along side Mira and Kai the entire journey! The feelings are so real and stay so true to each character, you truly feel everything with them (yes even the bad stuff 😭). There really isn't anything better than a truly immersive pirate/siren story with a side (maybe more to be complete honestly) of emotional damage. It wrecked me in the best ways and I am so incredibly excited to see where we journey next. 🏴☠️⚓🖤
(4.5) This was my first e-ARC and OH MY. I fell in love with Allie Belle's sirens, pirates, mermaids, and sea creatures in the world?!? Did I mention witches?
Her prose is beautifully descriptive, you can feel the love she and Mira have for the ocean. Everything is felt, touched, and experienced with the characters.
Mira and Kai grab you quickly. They have this rivals-tension, that you know just can't last. From their tension-filled banter to the shooting match, I liked the camaraderie that they brought each other. I’m usually one for more of a slow burn, but I love Kai enough that it’s okay <3
I'm a side-character lover, so of course I have to mention Neressa & Jay. Neressa is that girl. And I'm terrified of her but I want her on my side, always.
I loved the questing aspects of this story, as they bopped from place to place aboard the ship. I can’t wait to see where this story is going- especially with THAT ending?! For a debut novel, I’m so happy for Allie Belle! Congratulations!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Sirens Cove had me hooked (no pun intended lol) from the very first page. It’s such an easy, fast-paced read with worldbuilding that’s simple to follow but still engaging, and I loved all the little Easter eggs sprinkled throughout.
The plot is where this book really shines! It’s intriguing, well-paced, and sets up something that feels like it’s going to get even bigger and better as the series continues. I’m already so invested and cannot wait to see where this story goes next (because what is that cliffhanger)!!!
The romance wasn’t quite my personal preference, which is why this sits at a solid 4 stars for me. It leans more into insta-love, so don’t go in expecting a slow burn, intense tension, or a super broody MMC. That said, it is very sweet and fits the tone of the story well.
If you go in with that expectation, this book is such a fun ride. I’m so excited to see how the plot develops, what’s next for these characters, and all the incredible things Allie has in store!
"I've lost enough in my life to know when something's worth holding onto. And I'm holding onto you."
Guys. This is probably my favorite pirate romantasy?! Everything that was fit into this book, in how short it was, was insane. I loved how it grabbed me immediately and threw me right into this heart pounding quest for a fountain that would grant someone a wish their heart desires, while watching two people who are sworn enemies, also try to fight what their hearts desire.
This had sirens, witches, mermaids, kappas ( think davy jones pirates of the caribbean), and creatures of the deep. I was endlessly entertained and couldn't wait to see what stop the Leviathan would make next!! This was a beautiful journey of love, devotion, betrayal and heartbreak.
I can't wait for Kai to enter his villainous era, especially after that diabolical ending!!
Siren’s Cove is a super fast-paced fantasy full of pirates and various ocean creatures that will hook you instantly and keep you hooked until the very last page (and beyond). The romance is phenomenal and you will come out of this book utterly obsessed with both of the main characters. Mira and Kai are genuinely just head-over-heels obsessed with each other (even if they don’t know it) and some of the lines that they both have towards/about the other? I am in love. You honestly cannot help but love these two and their relationship. The plot twists will 100% mess with your brain (in a good way) and you will not be bored reading this book. That I can promise. Plus the vibes are immaculate. And no I will not elaborate on that.
Thank you so much for allowing me to read your book Allie! You had me at pirates and I wasn't disappointed! Add all manners of sea creatures like sirens, mermaids, witches and monsters and you have a winner. Two rival Pirate captains find how the tides and the seas shape them both personally and through their connection. The story is fast paced and moves along nicely, and Mira and Kai are amazing. The last chapters were chaos in the best way, I'm so keen to know what, happens now!
What an incredible debut novel. This is the perfect pirate x siren romantasy with an intriguing magic system, a MMC who * yeaaarns *, a fearless FMC and dark secrets that lurk beneath the surface. The ending had me in tears and already so ready for book 2. This was an incredible set up to a new world and a series I just know I will be continuing. Thank you so much for the arc and chance to read this amazing story. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Mira & Kai.
WHAT A STORY! This had all of my favourite things: pirates, ocean, sea creatures, and a love story like no other. If you want to be swept away at sea on a journey that takes you through unimaginable chaos and heartbreaking love then this is for you.
I am halfway through this amazing book and I just don't want it to end. Chapter 11 was absolutely riveting. You can feel the characters emotions rise up and down just like the waves that carry them. Kai is so dreamy and unsettled. Mira is mysterious and beautiful. Neressa keeps you spellbound. Awaiting her next move. I'm so excited to meet the other characters on this fabulous journey.
This book is truly unlike anything I’ve ever read before. It’s the perfect blend of magic, power, yearning, love, pain, and heartbreak. I became completely immersed in the world, unable to put it down. Allie’s vivid imagery makes every scene feel like a movie playing in your mind. The depth of emotion I felt while reading is a true testament to how powerful and beautifully written this story is. I can’t recommend it enough ❤️🔥
This pirate romantasy was exactly what I needed and was such a stunning debut, but it wasn't without its flaws. My main critique is with the pacing and the multiple plotlines, but I have many praises to sing too.
My favourite part of this book was the imagery, which was just perfection! Every scene was vivid and immersive and excellently described. I was completely drawn into the story and had it playing like a movie in my head - I was IN the scenes with them! ✨️
The theme blew me away and absolutely delivered!
This book felt similar to the epic experience of watching Pirates of the Caribbean, which was absolutely a positive, but this also came with its negatives too.
Although the book had its own unique plotline with the sirens and of course our main characters Mira and Kai's stories, many of the side plots and detours our characters took felt like replicas of scenes from PotC.
*𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒐𝒎 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒉*
The author created an incredibly beautiful romance between our two love interests. However, we were advertised enemies to lovers, and instead, it progressed from the introduction that their parents were arch nemesis', to an instant deep 'connection' the moment they locked eyes, then they immediately became barely 'reluctant' allies to *𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒓* fated mates *𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒓*.
By the 38% mark on my kindle, even their souls were bound.
*𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆*
The declarations of love, though very emotional and heartfelt, were confusing and felt all of a sudden.
This made their bond feel unbelievable and I craved more depth and build-up from it.
Now although thrilling, I did find the plot to be very repetitive.
It followed a pattern of one character giving our mc's intel, and then they went on a journey to get to the next character, who would give them another piece. They were essentially just being told all of the time "I can't tell you... but this person can."
There was also a bargain being made with almost every character they came across, so much so that I eventually just couldn't keep track anymore.
I think this author had so many brilliant ideas and things they wanted to explore, but the story could have benefitted from them being spread out more over the next few books.
My head felt all over the place trying to keep all the information we were given together:
- the mysteries and secrets - bargains and deals - double crossings - unknown parentage - who was alive or deceased - prophecies - and the characters true selves
All the discoveries and mysteries in this book were uncovered and revealed too quickly.
There were a lot of revelations to take in, making some not hold the weight they were intended to.
And then finally, my smallest issue - which hopefully will be resolved in the next book - was that I wish Kai's magic was explored more and explained better. It isn't really used at all, even though he seems very powerful.
♥︎ my favourite quotes ♥︎
"I wouldn't touch you if you were the last man alive on a raft in siren waters."
"My newfound treasure."
"He's the map I never knew I was following."
~
Thank you so much to the author for providing me with an e-arc of this book to review, and for the opportunity to read this book before its release!
𝙎𝙪𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙮 Sirens Cove is a pirate fantasy romance set in a dangerous, magic-filled world where the sea is just as deadly as the people sailing it. The story follows Mira, a fierce pirate captain with a mysterious connection to siren magic, and Kai, a feared and powerful Pirate Lord with a dark reputation. When their paths collide, old grudges, curses, and dangerous secrets force them into close quarters, blurring the line between enemy and ally as the stakes continue to rise.
𝙈𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 First off, I want to thank you, Allie, for having me as part of your ARC reader team 🖤
Listen—if it has pirates, I’m in. Whether it’s movies or books, I need more pirates in my life! So it’s safe to say I couldn’t be happier when I got the chance to read this book 😃
I really enjoyed this book and was fully pulled in by the atmosphere from the start. The ocean felt alive and threatening, and the pirate setting mixed with sirens and dark magic gave the story such strong vibes. It genuinely made me feel like I was sailing the high seas myself!
Mira was a great main character — strong, capable, and determined without feeling overdone. Kai brought exactly what I want from a morally gray pirate love interest: intimidating, guarded, and surprisingly layered. Their dynamic was fun and tense, and I loved the banter and underlying distrust between them.
That said, I personally love a slower-burn romance, and this one developed a bit faster than my preference. The chemistry was definitely there and I enjoyed their relationship, but I would have loved more time sitting in the tension before things shifted. Because of that, this ended up being a 4.5-star read instead of a full five for me.
Overall, Sirens Cove was a really solid start to a series with immersive worldbuilding, strong characters, and plenty of high-stakes adventure. If you enjoy pirate fantasy with romance and dark ocean magic, this one is definitely worth checking out!
On an extra note: Allie, you should be very proud of yourself and what you’ve achieved with this book! 🖤
📖 Read this if you like:
• Pirate fantasy • Dark ocean / sea magic • Sirens & curses • Fated mates • Forced proximity • Morally gray love interest
This was a good debut novel, and truly a very interesting start to what is going to be a 7 book series.
In Sirens Cove, we follow pirate captain Mira and pirate Lord Kai as they race against time and enemies to find a hidden treasure before it’s too late
Allie Belle has created an immersive world full of pirates, mermaids, sirens, and even witches.
With that being said, there were definitely quite a few aspects of Sirens Cove that didn’t hit the mark for me.
Let’s start with the mmc Kai. His only personality trait throughout the whole book is being a pirate lord. Not a page will go by that you aren’t reminded of how strong, bad and tough he is.
The fmc Mira is supposed to be a badass pirate captain. Defying age and gender odds to lead her crew. The reality is unfortunately a whiny b!tch whose only concern is what Kai is doing and what his feelings are. You would also think that since she’s defying odds in her role, she would be more supportive and less objectifying of women, however she seems to regard the women in ports the same way her men do - as nothing more than bodies to warm their beds.
Both main characters also tried keeping things from each other only to then immediately tell the other what the problem was or what was going on.
Additionally, one of the side characters was set up for what could have been a very interesting redemption arc that simply never happened and never will. I hate that such a huge opportunity was missed because it definitely would’ve been super beneficial to the plot line!
There’s also a very major and obvious plot point that the characters pick and choose when to acknowledge; like sometimes it exists and sometimes it doesn’t. It’s pretty annoying because that one small aspect is actually a huge part of their journey.
There were parts of the dialogue and inner character monologue that got VERY repetitive. Especially with certain phrases and terms in the last 40% of the book.
Lastly, zodiac signs are mentioned in the book randomly and it just feels so out of place. I think it definitely could’ve been an interesting plot point if it had something to do with their magic system or something. It just felt too unintentional as it was.
Mira is the captain of an infamous and magical pirate ship named The Siren which ironically is also the name of the creature that killed her father. She is at odds with another young captain named Kai Eldoris, one of the few humans who is naturally gifted with magic, both in search of the same treasure; the fountain of wishes. Sworn to be enemies because of their families feud. The two unlikely allies find themselves forced to partner up in order to achieve their mutual quest. But soon they’ll learn that they are bound by more than just their intended destination.
Pirates of the Caribbean vibes with an island designated to pirates and a kingdom where they are viewed as the enemy and hanged. I have a deep love for the Pirates movies so this book made my heart so happy! Between Mira and Neressa, the women in this book are a powerhouse! The fact that this was a debut novel blew my mind because the writing was so descriptive. The story is one that feels both familiar, due to where the inspiration came from, yet totally new and original at the same time. It for sure has its own legs to stand on.
When I say this book has everything I mean EVERYTHING! Magic, a quest, magical creatures, rivaling captains, hidden identity/self discovery, sentient ships, mystery and a sweeping romance. He is OBSESSED with her and would literally burn the world down just to keep her safe. I’m a sucker for a good pet name and when Kai calls Mira treasure…. Consider me undone!
I wish we learned more about the siren and what makes her so magical. Or the lore of how it was crafted. And more on Kai’s magic.
This was such a good time and I know that so many others will fall in love with this story of high stakes and romance.
I received this as an ARC and I’m so thankful to be able to share! Allie Belle has created a vibrant, enchanting world of love on the sea.
Kai was the perfect balance of Pirate Lord and Hero.
✨“A predator playing dress-up as a king.”
✨“Whatever is left of me, the part of me that loved, that hoped, that believed, sank with her. I’m not the same man anymore. I don’t want peace of survival. I want revenge.”
Can someone say Rowan circa Empire of Storms??
I also loved the description of the sea, it was almost its own character and found its way into every aspect of the book.
✨”The sea looks alive, whispering secrets into the night. If those whispers could speak, the stories they’d tell would be worth more than gold.”
✨”Those hazel eyes, flickering between green-gold and stormy brown, like the ocean deciding whether to drown or spare.”
And Mira, a great balance between strong and soft, with the same badass moments that make me adore her.
✨”Mira stands amid the smoke, pistol ready, sunlight spilling through her dark curls like fire caught in motion. Her emerald eyes are narrow, shining like sea glass in water. She holds the gun with lazy precision, like it’s part of her. The wasn’t luck. It was art. And gods help me, I can’t look away.”
And of course, the love!
✨”She is the breath in your lungs? The hush of moonlight and the gleam of stars? She is the weight of gold and the warmth of flame?”
✨”When salt met skin and the stars carved fate into our bones. We weren’t just chosen. We were born to be this. Two souls made from the same storm, split into two bodies. Bound by something deeper than blood, deeper than magic.”
From the dedication, my ocean heart was hooked. This book is an excellent fast-paced read, without feeling choppy, or rushed. All of the major plot points and twists flowed effortlessly, while keeping me so invested I couldn’t devour it fast enough. This was my first pirate romantasy, and I am forever changed.🤭
I often end up being more attached to the FMC in the books I read, but Allie seriously had me so obsessed with Mira AND Kai; I was utterly entranced by both of our main characters! Kai is mysterious, dangerous😉, the Pirate Lord, and captain of The Leviathan. Mira is so head strong, bold, confident - a true captain (of The Siren), the sea runs through her soul. Let’s not forget some of the amazing side characters like Neressa, and Jay. The found family runs strong, even for pirates.🏴☠️
My favorite thing about Sirens Cove is how immersive Allie’s writing is. I simply can’t convey how much she tuned into all of your senses, it really added to the magic of this reading experience. From the prose, the imagery, and most importantly, the description of smells in every setting truly made it feel like you were there watching alongside the characters!🧜🏼♀️
While we got so many answers, and secrets revealed, there are still so many things left unfinished. I love a good cliffhanger to keep me thinking about a book until I get the next one in my hands, and Allie truly delivered! I can’t believe this is her debut novel, she’s self published, and just generally one of the sweetest people in the book space. Do yourself a favor and snag a copy of Sirens Cove!
This was Allie Belle’s debut novel and it did NOT disappoint. The way she writes is so beautiful and descriptive that I literally felt like I was THERE. As a fellow Pisces, she understood the assignment, and I feel like that energy is woven into every single page.
The world and the characters are just so good. This hooked me from the very beginning, and while it’s a short read, she packed SO much in…it was genuinely nonstop. What I loved most is how the plot starts out feeling kind of simple and then just organically grows into this larger story. And then the little plot twists and shocking moments?? I was on the edge of my seat.
Now let’s talk about Mira and Kai because the enemies to lovers hits here, but also blended with a fated mates element, and it worked so beautifully. It felt like the real enemy was themselves, and once they stopped fighting fate, it didn’t feel rushed at all. It felt like this is exactly what was always supposed to happen. I’m usually the first person to clock a fast burn relationship, but in this case? I didn’t even flinch. It just made sense. The spice was also done in a way that felt classy and intentional. It never overshadowed the plot, and honestly that’s exactly how it should be done.
This whole book was such a VIBE. Such a fun adventure. And that ending? My jaw was literally on the floor. It’s a cliffhanger but also somehow felt wrapped up in a way that left me shocked, wanting more, and also strangely content all at once. I didn’t know that was possible but here we are. I cannot wait for Book 2.
Mira is a fantastic FMC—fierce, brave, loyal, and full of surprises. She’s the kind of character you’d follow anywhere. Kai, our MMC, is everything I want in a pirate: broad, handsome, dangerous, and covered in tattoos. Together, they complement each other perfectly, and watching them fall in love was a highlight of the story.
The slow burn romance is absolutely beautiful. Seeing Mira and Kai deny their feelings while clearly falling for each other made their relationship feel natural and deeply satisfying.
The plot is immersive and engaging, with strong Pirates of the Caribbean vibes—magic, ocean creatures, dark elements, and rich lore. I was hooked from the very beginning, and while some moments became predictable, I was pleasantly surprised overall, especially for a debut novel.
I also appreciated the depth hinted at in their parents’ histories; there’s clearly more to uncover, and I’d love to learn more in future books. The magic, the ocean, the creatures, and the child from two worlds felt fresh and different from anything I’ve read before.
My main critiques are that some secrets were revealed too early, and a few tasks and missions felt a bit too easy. The ending was good, though somewhat a little bit predictable.
Overall, I loved Kai and Mira’s love story, the tension, the betrayal, and the worldbuilding. I couldn’t think of a better book to start my 2026 with.
