Then he rejected me, threw me in the trunk of his car, and sold me into a backwater fighting club full of rabid werewolves.
My pack and family have no idea I'm in danger and my inner-wolf is still crying over the guy who rejected me, so I'm on my own.
At least I think so, until I realize I have the ability to tame rabid shifters.
But I have no idea how to use it--and accidentally end up with a dozen crazed wolves protecting me like I'm their favorite chew toy.
The only other sane trapped werewolf is a sexy, infuriating jerk who calls himself Knockout. He might be my ticket out of the fight club, but I don't know if I can trust him.
And even if I can, those dozen werewolves who think I'm theirs to protect?
They're not letting go.
I have to find a way out before I get too attached to the rabid wolves around me…
Especially Knockout.
Or the gift that's keeping me alive just might become my undoing.
*This paranormal romance trilogy is recommended for readers ages 17+, and contains the books Wolf Tamer, Wolf Charmer, and Wolf Whisperer.
Hi, I’m Lola! I’m a book lover with a *slight* romance obsession. My books are all steamy romantic fantasy or paranormal romance, and there is always a happily ever after.

I loved the characters. Are we going to get Shadow and Ryker’s story? We need it!
My only complaint is that Ulrich was not a victim. He was a sadist who enjoyed fighting the wolves. He burned down their home and psychologically tormented Cara with videos of her treatment at the hands of his son. He lied about shutting down the fighting and kept them prisoner. He was a bad person. The ending did not acknowledge this and it felt wrong.
Ugh I love and adore Lola Glass. Her books are so light and easy, but this one. So not one of her best. I just can’t bring myself to give her a 2 star rating, but this series deserves that. If i had discovered Lola through this series, I would have never read and loved so many of her other books. If you’re just discovering Lola, don’t read this series first.
Wolf Tamer Have you ever been dumped by someone you were in love with? Multiply that sorrow by infinity for what Cara suffers when her fated mate appears and then stuffs her in the trunk of his car to be sold to an illegal werewolf fighting ring in Montana. What’s even worse is that her wolf refuses to accept his rejection and is still lusting after him to the point that she endangers their life.
All of the wolves are victims of being rejected by their fated mates. Some of the wolves are feral, meaning they can’t change back to being human, and are extremely dangerous. Cara’s cage abuts one of these ferals and she is warned to keep her distance by Knockout, a prisoner across the corridor. She instead starts speaking to the wolf and he eventually rests against the barrier separating them so she can reach his fur. It turns out Cara is able to calm the ferals and sometimes encourage them to regain their humanity.
Cara is attacked by two of the human guards and Knockout breaks out of his cage to rescue her. He insists that she will be staying in his cage from this point forward. Neither Cara nor her wolf have any experience in fighting and subsequently suffer progressively greater life threatening injuries.
Knockout, AKA Knox, and Cara devise an escape plan. She refuses to accompany him unless all of the other wolves can also be released. Naturally the plan fails and Knox is recaptured. Cara is taken to the Rejected Mate Refuge in Colorado where she becomes acquainted with two other rejected werewolves.
The fighting ring organizers contact the refuge and indicate they will swap Knox for Cara. The wolves form a plan to overcome the humans and rescue Knox. It fails spectacularly and Cara is now under the cruel thumb of her fated mate. Some of the guards are sympathetic to Cara’s plight and help her and the others get away.
Cara eventually insists that she return to her home pack in Utah. Her family had never believed that she was rejected and had welcomed her fated mate with open arms. He quickly reveals his evil intentions, forcing Cara’s wolf to end him. She discovers that she is no longer welcomed by her family and will have to return to the refuge.
Wolf Charmer Cara’s wolf had panicked and fled the scene of the crime after murdering her mate. This causes two of the ferals who had accompanied her to take off. She and her friends must locate them before the resident pack hunts the ferals and puts them down.
Cara had learned of another feral wolf that resides in Knox’s former pack. She determines to meet her and offer sanctuary. She and Knox pretend to be mated in order to gain admission to his parent’s pack. They discover his father is on death’s door. Knox was supposed to be the next alpha but that passed to his younger brother after Knox was banished. His brother is crumbling under the pressure and Knox is recruited to help him.
Shadow from the refuge contacts them and says she has located yet another feral. Knox stays behind to help his brother so Cara and Taylor (the feral from Knox’s pack) decide to meet up with Shadow and track down the feral. Cara and Taylor stop at a restaurant where she receives a veiled threat from a man who looks to be related to her ex fated mate. Cara’s wolf bolts again.
Cara eventually composes herself enough to search for the feral. Taylor recalls a note she’d received from the stranger at the restaurant with an internet address. This turns out to be a video of Cara being tortured by her ex mate. Knox is contacted and rushes to her side.
Once the feral joins their group they head back to Knox’s pack to return the vehicle he had borrowed. He is ambushed by his mother who wants him to mate with the wolf who had rejected him and take over as alpha of the pack. He refuses and the ex bites him to leave a mating claim. He is not amused and angrily leaves.
Wolf Whisperer Cara and Knox leave claiming marks on each other but fail to complete the mate bond. They are captured by her fated mate’s father. His wife had been stuck mid shift for twenty years and he wants Cara to fix her. Cara eventually succeeds but suspects the wife is being abused. The wife is helped to escape and Ulrich, the father, is killed.
Cara and Knox had been tranquilized again and awake in a different location. It turns out to be a government owned facility where over 300 feral wolves are being kept. Cara agrees to help the wolves and have them taken to the refuge. This will take some time to accomplish so Knox is sent to the refuge without her. This also gives her alone time to reflect and come to terms with everything that has happened.
Knox surprises Cara with a home for them apart from the renamed Outcast Refuge. They eventually complete their bond and are mated. Some unfinished business with the ferals takes place and both of their families come around to accepting them.

This is such an amazing book! Lola you really out do yourself. Every book, every series just gets better and better. Cara and Knox's story will forever be one of my favorites. Cara a baker from the small town of Daisy meets her fated mate. For 10 ( maybe a little longer) whole minutes she is blissfully happy and unaware of the mate she has been given. He rejects and kidnaps Cara selling her into an illegal fighting werewolf fighting ring. Awakening in a cage Surrounded by rabid wolves Cara battles her emotions. Rejection, loneliness, fear, all war within her. While trying to survive Cara finds herself protected by Knockout, the only wolf who isn't rabid. She learns that every rejected is blessed with a gift from the moon goddess. She is the Wolf Tamer. Together they have to find a way out of the rings and get the rabids to the refuge. Only problem? Caras mate..can she survive him? Can her wolf and her come to terms with what he did to them..Triggers: it does hint at suggestions of rape, and has domestic abuse. Lots of emotions. Book 2: Cara is healing from the trauma of what she endured and had to do. Knox is absolutely amazing and understanding to her. When she struggles he is there helping her through everything giving her the space and time she needs. Cara becomes closer friends with Shadow and Ryker throughout. Ginger and Caras bond strengthes and they help out all the rabid wolves change back to human form. Cara also informs her family what happened with her mate and they don't take it well. Which had me fuming for her. They find there are more rabid wolves being held by the government and they need Caras help. Book 3: had my heart breaking. After everything Cara and Knox have been through I didn't expect how this book went. Cara needs time and space to process everything that has happened to her. Kn ox stays at the refuge while Cara helps the government with the rabids. Broke me. But I love that they stayed in contact and went to sleep on the phone together. I was so happy that they got back together when she was done! Realizing they loved each other and needed each other. Chosen mates. Also loved how Caras family finally came around and end the end she ended up with everything she wanted.
Why have I never heard of this author before?! I’m so happy I found this series!
I’ve been in a book funk for a few weeks after finishing a couple of amazing series. This set came up in my recommendations on KU. I decided to give it a try since it’s been a minute or three since I’ve read a shifter series.
I was very pleasantly surprised. This was a gripping story with characters I really enjoyed getting to know. The Ulrich thing kinda made me a bit sad, but it was understandable.
Knockout/Knox was amazing. Cara was one of the best written female leads I’ve ever read about. I’m excited that I have found a new author (to me) that I’m going to be able to delve into.
5 stars -Will definitely read again. Rare. 4 stars- Good book, I enjoyed it, not too many editing issues. 3 stars - It was fine. I may or may not read the author again. 2 stars- Bad editing, bad story. 1 star - I will blacklist every book this author writes and never read another again. Also rare.
I love the growth here. Cara was a 19? Year old young lady when some of the worst things imaginable were done to her. You watched her grow up, and heal, and find Knox. Knox was so patient. And kind. I know this will be a book that I keep coming back to. It is inspirational.
I only review the books series I absolutely love because if ya ain’t nothing nice to say and all that but wow just wow loved this series so much I bought it after I borrowed it on Kindle unlimited I just had to have it forever now really excited to continue the journey thank you so much Lola I loved this thank you for sharing this world with us I loved every second you can’t help but not love it !!!! Must Read right now go borrow or buy this series right now you can thank me later !!!!
This is an amazing set of stories with wonderful people to love and cheer for. You really get to know the characters as they suffer and struggle to remake themselves. I am definitely going to read any offshoots from this story. Of course, we need Shadow's story and HEA.
Get ready to binge this whole series. It will be so worth it. This series had such an impact on me that I am feeling speechless at the moment. It was just so beautifully written, so meaningful, and well thought out. I can not wait to read more stories based in this world.
I loved this series. Lola has a new fan in me, now to read every Lola Glass book I can get my hands on. I love the fact all these characters have flaws and they fight for what they want, nothing comes easy. It's more immersive and believable then some authors where nothing ever goes wrong. Thank you Lola Glass for giving me more books to lose myself to <3
I liked this book. It was probably a perfect book for someone who is just getting into shifter romances and hadn’t delved too deep into romantasy. It was slow-burn (too slow for my preference), showed character growth, had a decent plot, and I loved the main male character. Pretty low on the spice scale and more focused on building relationships after trauma.
Fantastic series! I loved the characters and the story line!! The intimate moments were not overly sexualized and perfectly described. I cannot wait to read more from this author.
Great story, awesome plot, and characters! I really enjoyed the development of the series and how I didn't become bored (which easily happens sometimes for me with series books focused on the same main characters).
Loved the story line. Loved the character development. But for some reason it just got very repetitive in the middle of the story and I found myself skipping whole chapters to just make it to the end.
A lovely story in its own right, but doubly poignant for survivors of abuse. I’m so glad this book exists in the world. I wish I could give the author a big hug.
This was a great read, it had it all minus a car chase. I found the beginning a little dark for my usual taste( the hurt and lack of freedom was too well written). But Lola has never let me down and she certainly delivered a rollicking good yarn. I really really enjoyed this series. You are a gift Miss Lola, taking us on an adventure away from the reality of this world if even only for a short time. And when are some of your books going to be made into a TV show! There is a gap which you could fill in your sleep.
