"If Rion were alive you'd be dead by now" OOP--

Absolutely loved the Nagumo / Shishiba moments in this. Always here for a Nagumo appearance tbh

I am wondering when Akira is gonna reappear though. Seems like she should be more important, especially now...

I don't care even one iota for these new antagonists. It just feels like they're here to pad out X's group. I want fights in the final arc to be between characters I'm actually invested in 🤞🏻

I’m glad Sakamoto has lost some of his patience with Kei and found the conviction to point out his mimicry of Rion and by extension Takamura is fake. Suzuki for a while has been drawing Kei’s mimicry as lesser in effect. The aquarium was the most explicit clue. Usually Takamura would split the building as his biggest target area but Kei doesn’t do that, his targets stay small. Also his ability to maim in small spaces is not as effective as Takamura either. In the first JAA invasion, Gaku lost his one ear, one hand and some fingers fighting the old man.

Kei (thankfully) couldn’t even take off Shin’s ear using the same technique. Clearly Kei’s ability to compartmentalize his extreme emotions will run out. I also like Suzuki teasing the tension amongst Kei and his siblings. Will any of them respect when he becomes too disabled to function or his guilt overwhelms him? Tenkyu and especially Gozu seem highly unlikely to sympathize. Collectively, killing Asaki satisfied none of the suffering they experienced in that orphanage and as adults their cynicism has only increased tenfold.

It would be quite tragic and painful for Kei to suffer at the hands of his family for being weak. The exact sort of taunts Asaki once wielded against him.

I enjoy all the mentee and mentor fights: Satoru v Shishiba, Torres v Sakamoto and now Oki v Nagumo. It was a pretty funny juxtaposition watching the car falling with the two squabbling inside as a breakup dinner was happening at the same time. I do enjoy Nagumo’s arrogant attitude though. (He and his mentor are the type of company men whose workload helps them thrive instead of weighing them down like Satoru and Shishiba.)

And finally finally Lu is back in the main action of the story. It was unfortunate that she’d been abandoned for so long. It’s a shame many of the female characters lack the same consideration as their male counterparts. It’s a feature of shounen, a very aggravating feature. 3/5 stars.

4/5 Stars (%78/100)

A bit better than the previous one. We start of with a huge fight between Sakamoto (and others) and Uzui's gang. I like that we get to focus on other characters other than Sakamoto since they are also interesting. I'm loving Shin's character development for example. Action does not stop as we see Nagumo (one of my all time favorites) fight as well. Towards the end some new characters are introduced. The next volume will be better in my opinion.

I loved the fight between Nagumo and Oki as I have never seen a casual fight as they were trying to kill each other but at the same time having a lunch buisness meeting with each other. They were ordering food while trying to stab each other. It was pretty funny, I do think the series is padding itself out as they introduce another group of assassins trying to kill Sakamoto and his friends and it feels that we should be in the final arc now.

When Suzuki has an idea about a cool fight scene, he delivers it perfectly.
