Sarah Harding has been a type 1 diabetic since 1993. Her mission is to write about life with diabetes and through sharing her own experience and enjoyment of life, to empower other people whose lives are touched by the condition.
Managing type 1 diabetes involves paying close attention to the many factors that together result in blood glucose control. They include insulin, food, activities, underlying health and fitness, and stress, but extend to a multitude of other nuances. Control is often elusive, and type 1 diabetics often struggle with the emotional and psychological aspects of the condition, which are not well understood in the world.
Words & Wisdom is a collection of quotes from many different sources which Sarah has curated. She has found them helpful, insightful and beneficial when reflecting on life as a type 1 diabetic. Concepts like resilience, diligence, patience and strength are key aspects to well-being for a type 1. Sarah also believes in living as full a life as is possible and not letting the condition limit or define you.
Through her books, Sarah hopes that she can help better equip other diabetics, and those around them, to navigate life with the condition, and help them feel a greater sense of enablement and empowerment.
