Dragons and Starlight is an emotional Romantasy!

I loved this book. It had everything we love in Romantasy: slow-burn, forbidden longing, magic, intrigue, and of course, dragons!

But these amazing reasons are not my main reason to have loved this book.
It was the writing!
This was so well written I felt like I was inside of this world, which usually is difficult in a Fantasy context with over explanations and too many details, not here.
The author Aria L. Wolff weaved the world building, the plot with the romance and the action in an amazing way where you feel instead of just reading.
I was a part of the world and I just loved it!

Wow.

I am honestly speechless. This book was absolutely stunning. The characters are beautiful, the world is unique, and the story makes my heart feel full. I completely devoured this book in one solid sitting, even going as far as to hold my kindle in the bathroom while I was brushing my teeth because I just could not put it down.

Aria Wolff does a phenomenal job writing a entirely complete and satisfying fantasy story in a way that doesn't require the book to be super long. That being said, I would LOVE to experience more from this world and I am SO excited to follow Aria to see what more she comes up with.

One of my favorite aspects of this book is the pure beauty with which the story is told. Isa and Korvyn are just a beautiful set of main characters that capture you from the very beginning of the storyline, and I honestly was able to read without knowing exactly what was going to happen next, which is a rarity for me. This is the first story (I believe) I have read that focuses on dragons and fae in the same universe. You are taken on a fantastical adventure to help save the world and yet the book is short enough to not feel overwhelming. I honestly have no idea how she got all of that story in such a manageable size.

You absolutely need to read this book. You will not regret it. It is a masterpiece of literature works in a nice and neat package. Absolutely incredible.

4.5 Stars but rounded up because wow.
A beautiful romantasy. I love Aria's writing style and the way she describes the world she created. It is so beautiful and magical. I truly want to read more about this world she created. The only reason I did not give a 5 stars is because of this desire. I feel like we could've learned more about the magic system and the side characters. The book swept me on a rollercoaster with barely any slow points. It reminded me of Studio Ghibli in the sense of being thrust into a new wonderful world and dragged through the story at a quickish pace while you're still looking around in awe. This is the perfect book for anyone who wants to get into fantasy/romantasy but is intimidated by the large size of most. I really did enjoy this book. It is really well written and I will definitely be looking out for future works of hers.

Great Read!

I love the premise of this book! It’s poetic and the world building is amazing. I would’ve loved for it to be longer so that the pacing was a bit better, but that doesn’t detract from the story being told whatsoever. 100% recommend for those in need of a quick read

I received this book as an arc, however this is my honest review and opinion on this read.

Dragon & Starlight follows our two protagonists, Isalyth and Korvyn, a fae and a dragon.

The overall book is face paced, poetic, and beautifully written. It is an easy read for someone looking to quench their need for a romantasy but not wanting to commit to a whole series.

Looking past that this book is fully intended to be fast paced, there were some scenarios within the book that I noted to lack much needed detail. Or there were even times random things or people appeared or took place, seeming to have already been explained despite there being no explanation.

Outside of those things, I looked at this book as if it were a movie. Within a movie, you only have so much time to explain things and get to certain climaxes of the storyline. While I would’ve loved far more detail and slower pacing for some key moments, I held this idea in my mind and pictured it on screen. This allowed me to enjoy it for what it was.

Dragon & Starlight is a fun, fast-paced fantasy read that surprised me in the best way. I’m used to sinking into longer books, so it took me a minute to adjust to the quicker pacing—but once I did, I was fully invested.

The standout for me was absolutely Isalyth. She’s vivid, compelling, and the kind of character who lingers in your head long after the chapter ends. The worldbuilding is bite-sized but immersive, and the plot kept drawing me right back in every time I tried to put it down “for just a minute.”

My only real gripe? The repeated use of the phrase “something older.” It popped up enough that it pulled me out of the story a couple of times. But honestly, aside from that small irritation, the writing was engaging and the story flowed really well.

If you’re looking for a quick fantasy escape with great characters, a dash of mystery, and a plot that keeps you flipping pages, this one is worth picking up!

I finished dragons and starlight at two in the morning, and I’m still staring at the ceiling trying to recover. This book is pure magic, it’s lush, emotional, and absolutely addictive.
The world of Krystalia and Dravakar feels alive, like it’s breathing beneath your skin. Isalyth, the fae healer who can’t lie, and Korvyn, the dragon prince haunted by loss, have a chemistry that burned through the pages. Their connection is part dream, part destiny and had me clinging to every chapter

The writing is lyrical yet sharp, full of those quotes you want to underline and whisper to yourself later. And the twist? My jaw actually dropped. I’m obsessed. If you love enemies-to-lovers tension, ancient magic, celestial secrets, and slow-burn romance that hurts in the best way, read this immediately.

Did I enjoy this book:yes. I thought it was an enjoyable quick read. I wish it were longer because the story has soo much potential to be a great read with added details. I would’ve loved to see Isa and Korvyn fall for each other in greater detail, as it was described as enemies to lovers but it was more “rivals” to “instant acceptance”, its also listed as “spicy” and I will say that’s subjective. There is spice, but it’s more of a closed door tension kind of spice. Think TOG type of spice... also the formatting on the kindle was sort of wonky but I don’t think that’s the authors fault, the creative writing style Aria went with did add to the story/plot and I enjoyed it. Overall, it was fun read!

Dragons and Starlight — simply put, wow. This love story weaves dragons(shifters), fae, and dark forces across two intertwined realms. It surprised me; at times it reads like an old folktale of good versus evil and the prose can be quite poetic. Though brief at 160 pages, it covers a lot and is an enjoyable, fast read. I would have liked more length and deeper detail to heighten the emotional impact though, which is why I rate it 4 stars.

Fantasy meets romance. Two worlds ready to fight in war and collapse. One Fae who seeks the truth and a dragon heir who does not trust Fae. They come together to fight against an ancient curse to bring the worlds back together and have peace.

Islayth and Korvyn go on this escape to free a long lost sister and bring the worlds back together with old world fates. During the mission they are mated, slow burn with forbidden longing. If you love Carissa Broadbent Sarah J Maas you will love this book and can not wait for the second book to come out.

I loved this dream bonded souls romantasy. It was different and a breath of fresh air. Dragons, Fae and dream walking makes for an easy to get sucked in for the day kind of book. I definitely wished there was a little more world building but it was a short read so understandable on that part. I also found it to be short on the enemies to lovers, not enough of the story to make it feel like a true enemies to lovers. Overall I enjoyed reading this and will be looking forward to more books from Aria I. Wolff.

A very relaxing read. There’s a lot of depth even if the novel is short. The characters are well built and their chemistry is amazing! The spice scenes are 🔥🔥🔥. Loved everything about this book, most of all that the fmc is not obnoxious, and excessively ‘strong’ as they are usually portrayed in romantasies. I fully recommend and can’t wait for part two. Oh, also loved that didn’t finish on a cliffhanger

Looooved it!!! It’s really good, all my favorite tropes are here: forced proximity, mates (with choice), dream travels. Aria is a new author and I’ m sure she will be very well known in the future! As a first novel (I think, I don’t find any other book on her name) it’s very well written. I was inside that story and felt the atmosphere. Refreshing read as I am a bit sick of books full of trauma, lots of deaths. Really needed to read it on this awful weather to cheer me Up

Interesting book!

This was not your ordinary romantasy. The author’s writing style is unique. She builds a world with few words but still manages to build a picture in your mind. I rated it 4 stars because I wanted a little more depth into each character. But even with the writer’s economy of words, I was still emotionally invested in each character and the storyline.

I felt this book was refreshingly different and would recommend to others if you enjoy the romantasy genre.

I really tried to get into this book, but it just didn’t work for me. The story had potential, but it fell flat pretty quickly, and the random bold words throughout were so distracting that I couldn’t stay focused.

I ended up not being able to finish it, which I don’t say lightly. It wasn’t for me, but I can see the idea the author was aiming for, it just didn’t come together the way I hoped.

No rating as I only made it 28%… this was a tough one for me. The premise was interesting but I struggled so much with the writing. It was so flowery and purple prose that I was distracted and honestly confused about what was going on. Totally possible it’s me and not the author’s style at fault here, but I just feel like we had a miscommunication and I unfortunately couldn’t keep going.

for a romantasy novella, I can't believe how much world building was able to pack into this book. to me, it read like a Shakespeare tale. very sonnet like. I enjoyed this book, and it was a very fast paced read. I wasn't able to put it down. need more!

I liked the idea of the story, but unfortunately it felt rushed, had no depth and there was no connection to the characters. The overuse of descriptions took away from what was happening, which was already confusing due to the fast pace and lack of world building. I struggled to stay engaged and was let down by the sub-par spice.

Fun Novella

Dragons and Starlight is a fun novella...I just need more! It could easily be a full length novel. As in any romantasy, you need some world building information before you grasp the plot. I would love to have had more adventure or drama from Isa and Korvyn!

The way this was written isn’t for everyone but I devoured this beautifully written short Fantasy/romantasy novel. The magic, the immersive world building happened so quickly but so poetically that not only did I see it but I felt it.

awesome!

I really loved this story. The fmc and mmc worked together great. The mmc gave me rhysand vibes and it was great. I know that it’s meant as a shorter book, but I just wish there was a little bit more to the battle. Otherwise it was great!

High Fantasy romantic novella.

I loved the magic system/world building. beautifully written, very "airy" style.

I would have loved if it was a full length novel so it could have been fleshed out more!

I received this book as an arc read. I loved the writing style and theme. This is only 3 star as i was lost at first and several times i felt like i was reading an except of a book and was missing the beginning and end.

The beginning took me a while to get through and once I realized the book was written in a poetic type style I got through it quicker. This is definitely a quick paced romanatasy meant to read in one or two sittings, I enjoyed it. Isalyth is def my favorite character, I love her.
