Sofia Canberra doesn't fit in at her fancy school. Determined to make a new start for herself and help her family, she runs away to find a grown-up job. But Sofia never expected a boring office building to be full of magic and adventure.
At Kingdom & Company, dwarves do accounting, wizards handle technology, and trolls run security. When an imagination shortage threatens the kingdom, and a spoiled princess unleashes a dragon, Sofia must confront a dark secret to save her new friends (and herself) and wield the one power that might change
This book was such an engaging read! I found myself eagerly turning the pages, always curious about what adventure Sofia would encounter next along her journey. The story is imaginative, funny, and thought-provoking, with a great sense of heart. Although it’s written for a middle-school audience, it’s just as enjoyable for adults. It’s a wonderful reminder to hold onto your imagination and those childlike qualities that make life feel magical.
The Storymancer is The Wizard of Oz meets The Odyssey. If you like storytelling, you will love this book as it is a series of stories inside of a larger story. Robert has an amazing imagination and a rare ability to weave whimsical characters and humorous situations into an insightful, funny tale. Although it is written for young adults it is also quite entertaining for us older folks. I expect we'll be reading more of Robert's books in the future.
Love this book! It’s full of fantasy elements set in a corporate environment. Truly nothing else like it and it’s perfect for young kids who are interested in funny and heartwarming life lessons. Can’t recommend this book enough!
Of course I’m going to rate my son’s book 5 star. But it’s worthy of it anyway. Well written and full of surprises. Its wizard of oz meets Narnia. Robert, you make me so proud!
