I really enjoy her books and it was good to ‘meet up with’ Patrik and Erica again. Lots of characters but carefully thought out and didn’t guess who was the killer!
This was my first Camilla Läckberg novel, and it certainly won’t be my last.
I really enjoyed The Cuckoo. It took me a little while to get into because so many characters are introduced in quick succession that I occasionally had to flick back to remind myself who was who. Stick with it though—it really pays off.
This isn’t your typical popcorn thriller that you can fly through without thinking. It demands your attention, with multiple storylines and plenty of detail, but that’s what makes it such a satisfying read.
The plot is brilliantly woven together, with twists, secrets and red herrings that kept me second-guessing myself throughout. I genuinely didn’t work out what had happened until the final pages, which is becoming increasingly rare for me with crime thrillers.
If you enjoy intelligent, character-driven crime fiction with a cleverly constructed plot, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a go.
A complex plot with plenty of dark characters disguised as every day people. Old secrets, guilt, love, betrayal… all of it woven in to a believable storyline that keeps you guessing to the end! Bravo! Will definitely read more from this author
