Originally from Peterborough, he recently moved from South London to the countryside to provide more storage space for his rapidly expanding collection of inedible hot sauces and to be alone with his thought(s). He’s not that keen on hot drinks but is fine with just water if that’s okay?
Loved this book, I think this will be one of my December reads every year from now on. Even though I live in Australia, there is just so much I can relate to here. It’s funny and had me chuckling a lot, and occasionally guffawing loudly, even snorting at times (much to my wife’s dismay). It’s the perfect preparation for the silly season and a real antidote to Christmas stress.
It's a well written little book that pokes fun at the way British people celebrate Christmas. It does seem to miss the fact that people do have different traditions in different families at times, but it takes a inoffensive view of some of the sillier things people do at Christmas time, padded out with occasional series of facts.
I devoured this absolutely hilarious book in just a few days. Every awkward moment of British eccentricity over the Christmas period is described in such comical detail. Very relatable and entertaining, the perfect festive read.
This was a fun read in the run up to the festive period. I follow the author on Social Media and his tongue in cheek humour really appeals to me. This offering is designed to help you through the maze of problems encountered at Christmas. Giving and receiving of gifts, guests who stay too long, what to eat - how to eat it. Navigating the perils of the office party as well of lots of other situations are covered with a good dose of humour and wit.
The perfect way to celebrate (and/or tolerate) the festive season. Hilarious observational humour that no doubt resonates with British readers but also provides insight to those of us who only wish they were British! Loved it and will enjoy it every Christmas season to come!
